Air Freight

Air freight is the fastest, and suits what cannot wait: urgent parcels, documents, samples and goods of high value for their weight.

How is the price worked out?

On the chargeable weight, which is the greater of the actual weight and the volumetric weight. Volumetric weight is worked out from the dimensions after packing, divided by a fixed divisor. This is why you may pay more for a light, bulky box than for a heavy, small one — the point that surprises customers most.

What raises the bill needlessly?

• Packaging larger than its contents.
• Empty space inside the box that could have been reduced.
• Many small boxes instead of one well-arranged box.

Restrictions to know

• Batteries and devices containing them are subject to strict requirements.
• Liquids and perfumes are restricted and may be refused, depending on the destination.
• Flammable items are prohibited outright.
• Declaring in advance saves the shipment from being held at the airport.
