Packing and Securing
Packing is not a formality; it is the difference between a piece that arrives sound and one that arrives broken. What damages furniture most is not the road, but the half hour someone saves on packing.
Rules we work by
- Each type has its material: glass is not wood, and appliances are not clothes.
- Protection starts at the corners — they are the first to be hit.
- Empty space inside a box is the enemy of its contents; we always fill it.
- Numbering before closing, not after loading.
By type of piece
Glass and mirrors
Foam, then double-wall carton with corner protection; carried upright, not flat, and secured in the container so they cannot move.
Electrical appliances
Emptied and dried a day before, their moving parts secured, and in their original box if it exists.
Wooden furniture
Whatever can be dismantled is, surfaces are wrapped in a blanket and then stretch film, and the screws kept in a bag taped to the piece itself.
Marble and heavy pieces
Thick foam sheets and a wooden crate where needed, with calculated horizontal carrying.
Valuable pieces
A purpose-made wooden crate with interior securing that prevents any movement.
Materials we use
Moving blankets, stretch film, bubble wrap, foam in different thicknesses, single and double-wall cartons, corner guards, lashing straps, and wooden crates on request.
Can I pack myself?
Yes, and it may save you money. Leave us the glass, the appliances and the large pieces, and pack the clothes, books and small items yourself.
