What Sets the Price

We do not publish a fixed price list, because any figure given without details is misleading. But we explain exactly what moves the bill, so you can compare any quote you receive — from us or anyone else — with understanding.

The six factors

  1. What you are shipping: a car, a yacht, furniture, goods — each has its own preparation and securing.
  2. The method: RoRo, a full container, a shared container, air, land.
  3. Volume or chargeable weight: sea by the cubic metre, and air by the greater of actual and volumetric weight.
  4. The arrival port: and how far the delivery city is from it.
  5. Additional services: special packing, wooden crates, storage, insurance, delivery to the address.
  6. Destination country charges: paid there, and varying with type and value.

How do you compare two quotes wisely?

  • Ask: does the price include inland transport to the port?
  • Ask: does it include clearance in the destination country, or stop at the quay?
  • Ask: which unit was it worked out on — volume or weight?
  • Ask: what charges are expected on arrival?

Two quotes with the same figure may be entirely different once you ask these four.

The “landed unit” sum

For dealers in particular: the real cost is not the freight but the sum of the purchase price, inland transport, freight and arrival charges. We work it out for you before you buy, not after.
