Sea Freight

Sea freight is the most economical choice for moving a whole home or bulky goods out of the Kingdom. You pay for the space you actually use, and a long distance raises the price less than volume does.

A full or a shared container?

A full container suits a whole home’s furniture or a large commercial shipment, and travels alone, so it arrives sooner and does not wait for others to fill. A shared container suits anyone shipping a few pieces or boxes: you pay only for the cubic metres you use, in return for a slightly longer wait until the container is full.

What sets the price?

• Volume in cubic metres — the first factor, not weight.
• The destination port and how far the delivery city is from it.
• Whether special packing or wooden crates are needed.
• Delivery to the address, or collection from the port.
• Customs charges in the destination country, paid there.

How do we prepare your sea shipment?

1. Inspection and volume estimate in cubic metres.
2. Dismantling and multi-layer packing to suit the pieces.
3. Numbering the boxes and preparing a detailed contents list.
4. Loading and securing inside the container to prevent movement at sea.
5. Preparing the documents and following up clearance at the arrival port.

How long does the voyage take?

It depends on the port: nearby ports are far quicker than distant ones, and clearance time in the destination country is added to the sailing time. We state the expected time for your destination in the written quote.

A tip before you decide

Before selling your furniture because you assumed shipping costs more, work it out. Many people have lost several times the cost of a container through a hurried sale and buying again.
