Dismantling: bedrooms, wardrobes and kitchens are dismantled with their parts numbered and their screws in bags taped to them.
Packing: blankets then corrugated cardboard for wood, foam and crates for glass and marble, and stretch film for sofas.
Appliances: the fridge and washing machine are emptied and dried a day before. Kuwait’s supply is 240 volts with the same plugs as the Kingdom, so all your appliances work there.
Inventory: a numbered list of every carton and item, which is what is presented to customs.

A car is moved to Kuwait on a carrier, not driven, unless its owner wants to drive it personally on export plates. There are three types of carrier, differing in protection, price and timing:

Is there sea freight from Riyadh to Kuwait?

Riyadh is an inland city, and its nearest port is King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. From there containers sail to Shuwaikh port in a day or two. But with transport to the port and clearance at both ends, the time becomes one to two weeks, several times longer than by land. So sea suits only heavy commercial containers whose owner is in no hurry, and a 20ft container from Dammam starts from SAR 2,460. For furniture, parcels and cars, land is faster and cheaper beyond comparison.

Air freight from Riyadh to Kuwait

The flight from King Khalid Airport to Kuwait International Airport takes about an hour and a quarter, and the shipment arrives within one to two days including clearance at both airports. It is the choice for anyone who cannot wait three days: a document for a transaction, a spare part that work depends on, or medicine.
