Who ships from Madinah to the UAE, and what do they ship?
Shipments from Madinah have a character of their own. The city receives visitors all year round, its land is among the best-known palm-growing areas in the Kingdom, and it has residents, employees and students who move to the Gulf when their term ends. So four types recur on this route: a family moving its home to Dubai or Abu Dhabi, an Emirati visitor sending what exceeds the airline allowance, a date trader supplying before Ramadan, and a car owner who wants his car with him. Each type has a method that suits it:
| Shipper | What they ship | Most suitable method |
|---|---|---|
| A family moving to the UAE | A full home’s furniture and appliances | Full truck with dismantling and assembly |
| A relocating employee or student | A bedroom, cartons and suitcases | Shared load |
| A visitor to the Prophet’s Mosque | Suitcases, gifts and dates | By the suitcase or carton by land, or air for urgent items |
| A trader in dates or goods | Ajwa and other varieties, prayer beads, rugs and perfumes | By the pallet or the truck, with an invoice and certificate of origin |
| A car owner | An ordinary or luxury car | Car carrier |
| Companies, official bodies and embassies | Office furniture, equipment and files | A dedicated truck on a set date |
Route and transit time from Madinah to the UAE
The road crosses the Kingdom from its west to its far east. The truck leaves Madinah eastwards on the Qassim road, passing Al-Hanakiyah and then Buraydah, and comes down to Riyadh after about 850 km. From Riyadh it heads east to Al-Ahsa and then south to the Batha border post, about 500 km. After the Emirati Ghuwaifat post, 350 km remain to Abu Dhabi and 480 km to Dubai. The total to Dubai is about 1,830 km, most of it dual carriageway, with no mountain passes.
| Stage | Approximate distance | Usual time |
|---|---|---|
| Dismantling, packing and loading in Madinah | — | A day |
| Madinah → Riyadh | About 850 km via Qassim | A day |
| Riyadh → Batha | About 500 km via Al-Ahsa | 6–8 hours |
| Batha and Ghuwaifat | — | Hours to a day |
| Ghuwaifat → Abu Dhabi and Dubai | 350–480 km | 4–6 hours |
| Unloading and assembly | — | Half a day to a day |
These stages add up to four to six days when the truck is yours alone. A shared load first waits for the truck to fill, and the shipments are then distributed to their addresses in the UAE, so the time stretches to ten days.
| Method | Door-to-door time | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Full truck | 4–6 days | A full home’s furniture and goods by the truck |
| Shared load | 6–10 days | A room, cartons and a few pallets |
| Car carrier | 4–6 days | Cars |
| Suitcases and cartons by land | 6–10 days | Visitors’ luggage, gifts and dates |
| Air from Madinah airport | One to two days | Documents and urgent parcels |
What lengthens the time?
- Visiting seasons: in Ramadan and the days of Hajj, Madinah is crowded and truck movement in its centre is regulated, so loading is delayed unless booked early.
- Waiting for consolidation: a shared load from Madinah waits until the truck fills or joins a trip passing from the west.
- Incomplete paperwork: with a full set of papers the truck is through Batha within hours; with a gap in them it stays overnight.
- New among used: boxed appliances are valued and pay duty.
- Tower permits: high-rises in Dubai and Abu Dhabi insist on a booked service lift and a permit before the truck may enter.
Shipping prices from Madinah to the UAE: land and air compared
Eighteen hundred kilometres make this route costly for anyone booking a full truck, and economical for anyone sharing one. So pricing always starts with a single question: how much of the truck does your shipment take? These are the prices our services start from, from your door in Madinah to the consignee’s door in the UAE:
| What you ship | Method | Price starts from |
|---|---|---|
| Carton | Land freight | SAR 140 |
| Suitcase | Land freight | SAR 230 |
| Belongings above 50 kg | Land freight | SAR 4.6 per kilogram |
| Small part load | Shared load | SAR 740 |
| Ten cartons or suitcases | Shared load | SAR 1,100 |
| Bedroom with a sitting room | Shared load | SAR 1,850 |
| A flat’s furniture | Truck | SAR 4,600 |
| Car | Car carrier | SAR 2,350 |
| Air freight | From Madinah airport | SAR 14 per kilogram |
| Documents | Express | SAR 83 |
| A full truck of dates or goods | Dedicated truck | Set on request |
Prices quoted in the market for this route: small parcels by land between SAR 200 and 600, and by air between SAR 300 and 800, medium shipments and appliances by land between SAR 500 and 2,000, a room or part-load furniture between SAR 1,200 and 3,000, a full home’s furniture between SAR 3,000 and 8,000, and a car between SAR 4,500 and 9,000. So use the table as a point of comparison for any offer you receive, and always ask what the figure covers: does it include packing, clearance and unloading, or transport alone?
Choosing between land and air need not be a puzzle. Weight and volume usually settle it, and urgency settles the rest:
| Comparison | Land freight | Air freight |
|---|---|---|
| Time | 4–10 days | One to two days |
| Price starts from | SAR 4.6 per kilogram above 50 kg | SAR 14 per kilogram |
| Suits | Furniture, cars, dates in quantity and goods | Documents, parcels, small electronics and samples |
| Practical limit | No limit on volume | Becomes very dear above 50 kg |
| What sets the price | Its effect |
|---|---|
| Volume | The first factor. Work it out with the volume calculator |
| Full truck or shared | Full is faster and dearer; shared means you pay for your space only |
| The emirate | Abu Dhabi is nearer; Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah are about 250 km farther |
| Dismantling, packing and assembly | Lines stated in the offer, not added after it |
| The collection point in Madinah | Hotels in the central area and the old districts may need a small vehicle to shuttle to the truck |
| Season | Ramadan, Hajj and summer see higher demand |
How do you lower the cost?
- Choose a shared load if your date is not pressing.
- Do not ship what costs less in the UAE than carrying it 1,830 km.
- Gather your suitcases and cartons into one shipment; ten cost less each than two.
- Book outside Ramadan and the days of Hajj if you can, or two weeks before them.
- Send clear photos of everything you ship; an accurate estimate prevents a price difference on loading day.
What goes into the price is set out on the pricing factors page.
What sets shipping from Madinah apart?
Madinah is not like Makkah or Jeddah when it comes to shipping. It is farther from the sea, but it has its own airport. It sits directly on the Qassim road, so its truck does not need to climb Al-Hada or pass through Taif. And its ground is level in most districts, so the truck reaches the door in most of them. On the other hand, the surroundings of the Prophet’s Mosque are crowded with hotels and pedestrians, and the entry of large trucks into the city centre is regulated by hours set by the traffic department that tighten in the seasons; we confirm the hours in force before loading day.
Another particularity of Madinah is that a large part of its shipments is food. Ajwa, Safawi and Anbara dates leave it for the whole Gulf, and these need packing that protects them from heat and documents that differ from those of furniture. The city also has a station on the Haramain high-speed railway, by which visitors arrive from Jeddah and Makkah, but it is a passenger train that carries no freight; anyone who came by train with more luggage than he can carry hands it to us in Madinah and travels back light.
| Particularity | Its effect | How we handle it |
|---|---|---|
| An international airport in the city | An air shipment usually needs no transfer to Jeddah | We hand it over at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport, and divert it to Jeddah if no suitable flight is available |
| The direct Qassim road | The truck heads east from the first kilometre | We load from Madinah and from places on the road, such as Al-Hanakiyah, on the same trip |
| Regulated truck entry to the centre | Loading at set hours | We fix the appointment in advance and load in the permitted time |
| Hotels in the central area | No room to park a truck or for lengthy packing | A small vehicle collects suitcases and cartons ready from reception |
| Dates | Food goods affected by heat | Ventilated cartons and pallets, and loading late at night or early in the morning in summer |
| Distance from a port | The nearest port is Yanbu, about 220 km away | Land is the mainstay to the UAE, and sea is not needed |
Shipping furniture and household goods from Madinah to the UAE

Once furniture leaves Madinah it spends four days or more on the road, crosses two border posts, and part of it may be opened for inspection. Packing that is good enough for a move from one district to the next will not do here. Our working assumption is that each piece gets loaded and unloaded several times, and that the truck runs hundreds of kilometres through desert heat.
Children’s rooms are a clear example of what needs care. They hold bunk beds, small desks, coloured wardrobes and toys with many parts. We dismantle the bed and number its panels, gather its screws in a bag taped to it, and put the toys and books in cartons marked with the room’s name, so everything goes back to its place in the new home without a search.
- Survey: by photos or at the home, to estimate the volume and learn where the truck can stand.
- Dismantling: we take apart bedrooms, wardrobes and kitchens, number each part, and tape the bagged screws to the piece they belong to.
- Packing: wood gets blankets and then corrugated cardboard, glass and marble get foam and wooden crates, and sofas and mattresses get plastic wrap.
- Appliances: empty and dry the fridge and the washing machine a day ahead. Mains power in the UAE is 230 volts and the plugs are the ones adopted in the Kingdom, so no adapter is needed for your appliances there.
- Inventory: a numbered list of every carton and piece, which is what goes to UAE customs.
- Assembly: our crew in the UAE takes each piece to its room, assembles it and removes the packing waste.
Service details are on the furniture shipping page, and packing methods in the packing guide.
Land freight from Madinah to the UAE: full truck or shared load?
Land is the main method on this route, because it carries everything: furniture, the car, dates and goods. We handle collection from the address, packing and loading into a closed truck, then clearance at both posts and delivery in the UAE. The first decision in it changes both price and time. A full truck moves on your loading day and stops only for rest and the border. A shared load waits to fill, and each shipment is then unloaded at its owner’s address.
| Comparison | Shared load | Full truck |
|---|---|---|
| You pay for | Your shipment’s space only | The whole truck |
| Time | 6–10 days | 4–6 days |
| Departure | Once the truck is full | On loading day |
| Handling | May be moved between two trucks | Loaded once and unloaded once |
| Best for | Up to about three rooms | A full home or a lot of goods |
Details are on the land freight page.
Shipping visitors’ luggage and parcels from Madinah to the UAE
What an Emirati visitor buys in Madinah rarely fits in his suitcase: dates, rugs, prayer beads and gifts for the family. Every kilogram over the allowance is charged by the airline. The way out is to let the luggage go ahead of him or come after him by land: we pick it up from the hotel or the residence and hand it over at his address in the UAE. The small parcel a resident sends to his family goes the same way.
- Suitcase: from SAR 230, wrapped and numbered.
- Carton: double-wall from SAR 140, no more than 30 kg.
- Ten cartons or suitcases: from SAR 1,100, the best fit for groups and visiting parties.
- Per kilogram: from SAR 4.6 above 50 kg.
- Collection from the hotel: the luggage is left at reception, labelled with your name and number, and we issue a receipt when we pick it up.
- What not to put in: Zamzam water, cash, gold, and medicines without a prescription.
Details are on the parcel shipping page.
Shipping dates and commercial and industrial goods from Madinah to the UAE

The Madinah region is one of the largest date-producing regions in the Kingdom, and its central date market sells Ajwa, Safawi, Anbara and Medjool to visitors and traders. UAE demand for these varieties rises before Ramadan and the Eids, so traders book their trips weeks before the season. Saudi Arabia and the UAE are in one customs union, so dates of Saudi origin cross with no duty on a certificate of origin.
Besides dates, Madinah sends out the goods of its markets: prayer beads, rugs, perfumes, incense and ihram clothing. Its industrial areas send out building materials, plastic and food products, and equipment. Heavy items are loaded by forklift on pallets and lashed inside the truck so that they do not shift on the long road.
| Goods | How they ship | What they need |
|---|---|---|
| Dates by the carton for individuals | In a shared load, away from heavy items | A description of the contents and the consignee’s address |
| Commercial dates | By the pallet or the truck | An invoice, a certificate of origin and a label in Arabic with production and expiry dates |
| Prayer beads, rugs and clothing | By the carton or pallet | An invoice and packing list |
| Perfumes and incense | By land, declared by type and quantity | Restricted in air freight |
| Industrial materials and equipment | On pallets or a flatbed truck, depending on size | An invoice, a certificate of origin and a customs code for each item |
- Certificate of origin: for Saudi and Gulf goods, and it is what exempts them from duty.
- Foreign goods: they carry the unified Gulf duty of 5% if it was not paid when they entered the Gulf.
- Value added tax: 5% in the UAE on commercial imports.
- Commercial foodstuffs: the UAE authorities set requirements for the label and for product registration, and we review what is needed with the importer before loading.
- Sorting: we separate the fragile from the heavy and the perishable from the dry, and choose each item’s place in the truck.
Details are on the commercial shipping page.
Shipping electronics and electrical appliances from Madinah to the UAE
Appliances suffer most from vibration and heat, and their value is high for their size. So we photograph each device while it is working before packing, and record its serial number in the list of contents. Small valuable ones go by air, and large ones travel by land with the furniture.
| Device | How it is packed | Most suitable method |
|---|---|---|
| Phone, laptop and camera | Its original box inside a padded carton | Air |
| Television screen | Its original carton or a wooden crate, carried upright | Land |
| Fridge, washing machine and air conditioner | Foam and reinforced cardboard after emptying and drying | Land |
| Office devices and printers | Inks removed and moving parts secured | Land or air, depending on weight |
A used appliance among a mover’s furniture enters with it. A new one in its box is declared with its invoice and pays duty. Loose batteries are not shipped by air.
Shipping cars and vehicles from Madinah to the UAE
Driving a car 1,830 km wears its tyres and oil, adds to its mileage, and costs its owner two days on the road. A carrier delivers it as it is. That is why most people who relocate ship their cars and do not drive them. We photograph the car from every side before loading and sign a condition report with the driver, and its wheels are then strapped to the carrier.
| Vehicle | How it ships | What it needs |
|---|---|---|
| An ordinary car | Car carrier, from SAR 2,350 | An export certificate from traffic after fines are paid |
| A luxury car | Enclosed carrier | Insurance at value, and detailed photos |
| A financed car | As the others | A no-objection letter from the finance provider |
| A motorcycle | In a crate or on a base inside a closed truck | The registration and the export certificate |
- Duty on a car: 5% of the value assessed by UAE customs, then 5% value added tax.
- Age: the UAE has a condition on the age of a used car to be registered, which we confirm before shipping.
- Registration: a technical test and UAE insurance, then the emirate’s plates.
- Before loading: a quarter tank of fuel, and no personal items inside the car.
Details are on the car shipping page.
The Batha border post and UAE customs
Two clearances await every shipment: export at Batha, then import at Ghuwaifat. With the border about 1,350 km from Madinah, a paper left behind is hard to put right. So the file is prepared in Madinah before the truck sets off, and a copy goes to our broker at the border so that his work begins before the truck arrives.
| Item | Rule |
|---|---|
| Customs duty | 5% of the value of the goods and their freight on most items |
| Saudi and Gulf origin | Exempt on a certificate of origin, Madinah dates included |
| A mover’s used furniture | Usually exempt, with a list of contents and the consignee’s residence permit or Emirates ID |
| New items among furniture | Anything in its box pays duty |
| Value added tax | 5% on commercial imports |
| Restricted items | Medicines, foodstuffs, cosmetics and radio devices with their permits |
| Type of shipment | Documents |
|---|---|
| Used furniture and belongings | ID or Iqama, the consignee’s residence permit or Emirates ID, and a detailed list of contents |
| Commercial goods and dates | Invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and the importer’s registration in the UAE |
| Car | Registration, export certificate and owner’s ID |
| Suitcases and personal parcels | Description and value of the contents, and the consignee’s address and UAE number |
The documents are explained on the required documents page, and the procedures on the customs clearance page.
What cannot be shipped to the UAE or needs a permit
One shipment containing a prohibited item is enough to hold the whole truck at the border. So we go through the list of contents with you before packing and leave out what will not cross:
| Item | Rule |
|---|---|
| Zamzam water | Its export is restricted, and it is not shipped with goods |
| Flammables and gases | Prohibited in general freight |
| Medicines | Personal ones with a prescription in a limited quantity; commercial by permit |
| Radio devices and drones | By prior permit |
| Palm offshoots, seeds and plants | With a plant health certificate |
| Weapons and anything resembling them | Prohibited |
| Cash, gold and original documents | Not shipped with furniture; keep them with you |
| Counterfeits | Confiscated |
The general list is on the prohibited items page.
The UAE cities we ship to from Madinah

After Ghuwaifat the truck passes Abu Dhabi first, then Dubai, then the northern emirates. So the emirate sets the delivery day: Abu Dhabi and Al Ain usually on the crossing day itself, Dubai and Sharjah the same day or the next, and Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah the day after. Our crew in the UAE unloads and assembles in all of these cities.
| City | Approximate distance from Madinah | Delivery note |
|---|---|---|
| Abu Dhabi | About 1,700 km | The first major city after the border; some of its towers require an entry permit for the truck |
| Al Ain | About 1,800 km | Served from the Abu Dhabi road |
| Dubai | About 1,830 km | Towers that require the service lift booked and an entry permit |
| Sharjah and Ajman | About 1,860 km | Delivery outside rush hours is preferable |
| Umm Al Quwain | About 1,890 km | On the Dubai day or the next |
| Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah | About 1,950 km | The day after crossing |
For delivery we need the name of the area, the building, the flat number and a UAE mobile number for the consignee. More about the destination is on the shipping to the UAE page.
Shipping for individuals, companies, government bodies and embassies
The core of the service does not change from one customer to the next; what changes is what is asked for around it. A family relocating from Madinah wants its furniture intact when the cartons are opened in the UAE. A date trader or a company wants a date that does not slip, so that work is not held up. For a government body or an embassy, the priority is official procedure, a signed record and confidentiality of the contents.
| Customer | What matters to them | What we provide |
|---|---|---|
| Individuals and families | Safe furniture and a price with no surprises | A photo survey, dismantling, packing and assembly, and an itemised price |
| Visitors and visiting groups | Collection from the hotel and delivery at home | Every suitcase numbered in its owner’s name, and a collection receipt |
| Date traders and companies | The date and the documents | A dedicated truck, tax invoices, periodic trips under contract, and temporary storage |
| Government bodies | Official procedure and records | Letters, a collection and delivery record, and sealed packing for files |
| Embassies and consulates | Privacy and diplomatic exemptions | Coordinating exemption documents, and delivery inside the premises |
Air freight from Madinah to the UAE

On a land route that takes at least four days, air becomes a real option for anything light and urgent. And Madinah has an advantage here: Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport is in the city, with flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah that take about two and a half hours. We collect the shipment from your door and hand it over at the airport, and it reaches the consignee within one to two days including clearance. If no flight suits the size of the shipment, we divert it to King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah.
- Who it suits: senders of documents, urgent parcels, small electronics and trade samples, and anyone who wants cartons of dates to arrive before an occasion.
- Charging: on the greater of actual and volumetric weight. Work it out with the volumetric weight calculator.
- Price: air freight starts from SAR 14 per kilogram, and documents by express from SAR 83.
- When land suits better: above 50 kilograms, land is far cheaper, starting from SAR 4.6 per kilogram.
- What it does not suit: furniture, large appliances, liquids, perfumes in quantity and loose batteries.
Details are on the air freight page, and in the article air freight office in Jeddah.
Is sea freight from Madinah to the UAE a good fit?
The nearest port to Madinah is Yanbu, about 220 km away, followed by Jeddah port at about 420 km. A container from the Red Sea to Jebel Ali sails round the whole Arabian Peninsula, taking two to three weeks. So sea freight only suits heavy commercial goods whose owner is in no hurry. For furniture, luggage, dates and cars, land is faster and cheaper. The full comparison is on the shipping methods comparison page.
Collection from Madinah’s districts and governorates
We pack and load at your location, in any district of Madinah: Aziziyah, Difa, King Fahd, Salam, Aqool, Shuran, Quba, Awali and Khalidiyah. We also collect from the region’s governorates, and their shipments join the same trip:
| Place | Distance from Madinah | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Hotels in the central area | Within Madinah | Suitcases and cartons collected from reception by a small vehicle |
| Al-Hanakiyah | About 110 km | On the Qassim road itself, so loaded on the way |
| Badr | About 150 km | Collected before departure day |
| Khaybar | About 170 km | Collected before departure day |
| Yanbu | About 220 km | Consolidated with Madinah shipments in one trip |
Should your home in the UAE not be ready, or your travel date coincide with a visiting season, the shipment stays in our warehouse, packed and inventoried, until you name the date. See the storage page for details.
Steps for shipping from Madinah to the UAE
- Contact: you send what you are shipping with photos, your district in Madinah, and your address in the UAE.
- Itemised price: it reaches you by line: dismantling, packing, transport, clearance and assembly.
- Booking: the loading day and its permitted hour are confirmed, and we request copies of your ID and of the consignee’s residence permit.
- Packing and loading: at your home, with a numbered list of contents and photos.
- The road: the truck moves east through Qassim and Riyadh, and we tell you where it is.
- Export clearance: at the Batha post.
- UAE clearance: at the Ghuwaifat post.
- Delivery: to the address, with unloading and assembly if you asked for it.
How we keep your shipment safe: tracking and insurance
A shipment’s safety begins before the truck moves. We check and photograph every piece, mark what is fragile, then secure the load inside the truck with straps and dividers so that it does not slide on the road. And four days on the road is a time in which a shipper has every right to ask, so we do not wait for the question: we tell him when the truck leaves Madinah, when it passes Riyadh, when it reaches the border, when clearance is done, and the time of arrival at his door.
- Tracking: by shipment number, with an update at every stage. Details are on the track your shipment page.
- Record: photos of every item before packing and after loading.
- Securing: straps and dividers inside the truck, with the heavy at the bottom and the fragile on top.
- Insurance: it is optional and priced as a percentage of the value you declare; on a route this long we advise taking it. See the cargo insurance page for details.
- On receipt: inspect the shipment and note any remark on the delivery report before signing.
Shipping from the UAE to Madinah
This route runs both ways. Our crew in the UAE collects from the address, we clear at the two border posts, and delivery is made to any district of Madinah within the hours when trucks are allowed in. A Saudi coming home after working in the UAE brings his used furniture in duty-exempt on a list of contents, and goods of Emirati origin enter the Kingdom duty-free when a certificate of origin accompanies them. Anyone furnishing a residence or a hotel in Madinah can import the furniture from the markets of Dubai and Sharjah in the same way.
Tips before shipping from Madinah to the UAE
- Choose the method before anything else: land for furniture and heavy items, air for the small and urgent.
- Book two weeks before Ramadan and the days of Hajj, or pick a date outside them.
- Prepare the documents before loading day: the ID, the consignee’s residence permit, and invoices for anything new.
- Set aside what you will carry yourself: passports, contracts, gold and medicines.
- Ask the tower’s management in the UAE about booking the service lift and the truck’s entry permit.
- Write your name and number on every suitcase and carton, and keep a copy of the list of contents on your phone.
- Insure the shipment if its value is high; the road is long, and insurance costs less than regret.
How do you choose a shipping company from Madinah to the UAE?
The questions a company asks you reveal its experience more than its promises do. One that asks about the volume, the emirate and the type of home knows the route, and one that gives you a figure before hearing anything does not.
| What you ask about | Reassuring sign | Warning sign |
|---|---|---|
| Time | 4 to 10 days depending on the method | “Within two days” for a home’s furniture from Madinah |
| Price | Itemised lines after knowing the volume and emirate | An instant figure with no questions |
| Madinah’s seasons | Asks for your date and allows for Ramadan and Hajj | Promises loading on any day and from any place |
| Customs | Asks: used or new? And what is the origin of the goods? | “No customs” on everything |
| Delivery | A crew in the UAE that unloads and assembles | Its role ends at the border |
| Registration | Commercial registration and a collection receipt | A mobile number only |
Common mistakes when shipping from Madinah to the UAE
- Booking in the last ten days of Ramadan or in the days of Hajj.
- Putting Zamzam water in the cartons, so the whole shipment is opened.
- Shipping commercial dates without a label or a certificate of origin.
- Loading furniture without an inventory, so it is delayed at the border.
- Putting new boxed appliances in with used furniture without declaring them.

How long does shipping from Madinah to the UAE take?
An air shipment from Madinah airport arrives within one to two days. By land, a full truck needs 4 to 6 days, and a shared load 6 to 10 days because it waits for the truck to fill. We count these times from the moment of collection in your district of Madinah until delivery at the consignee’s door in the UAE.
How far is Madinah from Dubai?
About 1,830 km by road: about 850 km from Madinah to Riyadh through Qassim, then about 500 km to the Batha border post, then about 480 km from Ghuwaifat to Dubai. Abu Dhabi is about 130 km nearer.
Which border post does the shipment enter the UAE through?
From the Saudi Batha post to the Emirati Ghuwaifat post, the land crossing between the two countries.
Is there air freight directly from Madinah?
Yes. Madinah has Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport, with flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. If no flight suits the size of the shipment, we send it through Jeddah airport.
Do you ship Madinah dates to the UAE?
Yes. We ship Ajwa and the other varieties by the carton for individuals, and by the pallet or the truck for traders, with a certificate of origin and a label on commercial packs.
Is customs paid on used furniture?
In most cases, no. When someone moves from Madinah to live in the UAE, their used furniture is exempted provided the list of contents and a copy of the consignee’s residence permit or Emirates ID accompany it. Duty remains due on new pieces still in their boxes.
How much is customs duty in the UAE?
UAE customs duty on most items is 5%, worked out on the value of the goods plus the cost of shipping them. Commercial imports also carry 5% value added tax. Anything of Saudi or Gulf origin, such as Madinah dates, pays no duty when a certificate of origin accompanies it.

Yes. Cars travel on a car carrier, from SAR 2,350, and before shipping we go over with you the UAE’s age condition for registering the car.
Do you collect visitors’ luggage from hotels?
Yes. We collect suitcases and cartons from the hotel reception in the central area or from the residence, and deliver them to the visitor’s address in the UAE.
Is shipping affected by the visiting seasons?
Yes. In Ramadan and the days of Hajj, Madinah is crowded and truck movement in its centre is regulated, so we load in the permitted hours and ask for booking two weeks ahead.
What documents are required?
They vary with the type of shipment. Furniture needs a list of contents, the shipper’s ID or Iqama, and the consignee’s UAE residence permit or Emirates ID. Commercial goods and dates need an invoice, a packing list and a certificate of origin. A car needs its registration and the export certificate issued by the traffic department.
