Who ships from Madinah to Bahrain, and what do they ship?
Shipments between Madinah and Bahrain follow the movement of people between them. Bahrainis visit the Prophet’s Mosque in every month of the year and go home with dates and gifts that suitcases cannot hold. Residents and employees in Madinah finish their contracts and move to Manama or Riffa. Traders in Bahrain order Madinah dates weeks before Ramadan. Knowing which of these you are is the first thing that sets the method and the price, so we start with it before any figure:
| Shipper | What they ship | Best method |
|---|---|---|
| The Bahraini visitor | Suitcases, dates and gifts beyond the airline allowance | By the suitcase or carton by land, and by air when urgent |
| The family moving to Bahrain | A whole home’s furniture and its appliances | Full truck with dismantling, packing and assembly |
| The employee or student relocating | A bedroom, cartons and personal belongings | Shared load |
| Someone sending to family and friends | Parcels, boxes of dates and small devices | Door-to-door parcels |
| The trader | Dates in quantity, prayer beads, rugs and perfumes, and products of the region’s factories | By the pallet or the truck, with an invoice and certificate of origin |
| The car owner | A standard car, a 4×4 or a luxury car | Shared or enclosed carrier |
Route and transit time from Madinah to Bahrain
The road from Madinah to Bahrain crosses the full width of the Kingdom. The truck leaves eastwards on the Qassim road, passes Al-Hanakiyah and then Buraydah, and comes down to Riyadh after about 850 km. From Riyadh it continues to Dammam and Khobar, about 420 km, then enters the King Fahd Causeway, which is 25 km long. Halfway along the causeway is an island that holds both countries’ customs and passport control, so both clearances happen at one station, not at two distant border posts. Driving alone takes about 13 hours, so it is split over two days with the driver’s statutory rest.
| Stage | Approximate distance | What happens in it |
|---|---|---|
| Madinah → Riyadh | About 850 km via Qassim | The longest stage; Al-Hanakiyah shipments are loaded on the way |
| Riyadh → Khobar | About 420 km via Dammam | In a shared load the shipment may be moved to another truck in Riyadh |
| King Fahd Causeway | 25 km | Saudi export, then Bahraini import, on the middle island |
| After the causeway | Under an hour to the farthest address | Distribution to the addresses, then unloading and assembly |
These stages are not counted in hours alone. Before the road comes a day for dismantling, packing and loading in Madinah, and after it half a day for clearance and delivery. That is why the time changes with the method you choose:
| Method | Door-to-door time | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Full truck | 3–4 days | A whole home’s furniture and goods by the truck |
| Shared load | 5–7 days | One or two rooms, cartons and a few pallets |
| Car carrier | 4–6 days | Cars |
| Parcels and suitcases by land | 5–7 days | Dates, gifts and visitors’ luggage |
| Air from Madinah airport | One to 3 days | Documents and urgent parcels |
Some adverts promise furniture delivered in Bahrain within 24 hours. That is possible from Dammam and Khobar, which sit beside the causeway, and not possible from Madinah, which is 1,270 km away from it. Whoever promises it from here is promising what the distance does not allow.
What lengthens the time?
- Visiting seasons: central Madinah fills with visitors in Ramadan and the Hajj season and truck entry hours are restricted there, so anyone who has not booked early waits their turn to load.
- Waiting for consolidation: a shared-load truck does not leave Madinah until it is full, and your shipment may be added to a trip arriving from Jeddah.
- Causeway congestion: the causeway is Bahrain’s only land gateway, so the truck queues on it grow at weekends and over public holidays.
- A vague list of contents: the words “personal effects” without detail bring a manual inspection.
- New items among used ones: a boxed appliance among used furniture holds the file until it is valued.
Shipping prices from Madinah to Bahrain
On a road 1,300 km long, the truck’s hire is nearly fixed whether it is full or not. So the price you receive follows what your shipment takes of that truck. A parcel is priced by its weight, a carton by the piece, furniture by its volume in cubic metres, and a car by its type and its carrier’s type. Someone shipping a single room does not pay for a truck, but for their space in a shared load. These are the prices our services start from, from your door in Madinah to the consignee’s door in Bahrain:
| What you ship | Method | Price starts from |
|---|---|---|
| Parcel up to 5 kg | Door-to-door land freight | SAR 41 |
| Carton | Land freight | SAR 140 |
| Suitcase | Land freight | SAR 230 |
| Per kilogram for quantities | Land freight | SAR 4.6 per kilogram |
| Electrical appliance | Shared load | SAR 165 |
| Cubic metre or pallet | Shared load | SAR 550 |
| Bedroom | Shared load | SAR 1,100 |
| Small flat’s furniture | Shared load or small truck | SAR 2,300 |
| Whole home’s furniture | Truck | SAR 3,220 |
| Villa furniture | Full truck | SAR 5,300 |
| Small car | Shared carrier | SAR 1,010 |
| 4×4 | Shared carrier | SAR 1,470 |
| Luxury car | Enclosed carrier | SAR 3,220 |
| Air freight | From Madinah airport | SAR 14 per kilogram |
| Documents | Express | SAR 83 |
| A full truck of dates or goods | Dedicated truck | Set on request |
The prices circulating in the market for this route are higher than that on most items: a parcel up to 5 kg about SAR 50 by land and from SAR 100 by air, a parcel of 10 to 20 kg SAR 100 to 150 by land and SAR 200 to 300 by air, medium commercial goods about SAR 800 by land and up to SAR 2,000 by air, a bedroom from SAR 3,500, a whole home’s furniture between SAR 6,000 and 9,000, and a car between SAR 3,000 and 6,500. Even from Riyadh and Dammam, which are hundreds of kilometres closer to the causeway, figures such as SAR 150 to 250 for a parcel up to 20 kg, SAR 250 to 550 for suitcases, SAR 3,500 to 5,500 for a flat’s furniture, and SAR 1,200 to 1,800 for a car are quoted. So use the table as a point of comparison for any offer you receive, and always ask what the figure covers: does it include packing, clearance and unloading, or transport alone?
| What sets the price | Its effect |
|---|---|
| Type of shipment | Furniture, appliances, goods and a car each have their own calculation and packing |
| Volume | Governs furniture and goods. Work it out with the CBM calculator |
| Actual or volumetric weight | Governs parcels, suitcases and air freight; the greater of the two is charged |
| Land or air | Air is faster, and its cost per kilogram is about three times that of land |
| Full truck or shared | Full is faster and dearer; in a shared load you pay for your space only |
| Level of packing | Glass, screens and marble need wooden crates |
| Collection point in Madinah | Central-area hotels and distant governorates have their own collection arrangement |
| Delivery address in Bahrain | Upper floors without a service lift need more labour |
| Extra services | Dismantling, assembly, insurance and storage are items stated in the offer, not added after it |
How do you lower the cost?
- Choose a shared load if your date is not pressing.
- Put all your date boxes and cartons into a single shipment: a kilogram costs less in a bulk consignment than in a parcel sent on its own.
- Do not ship what costs less in Bahrain than the fare to carry it 1,300 km.
- Book outside Ramadan and the Hajj days, or two weeks before them.
- Photograph every piece you intend to ship and send the pictures clearly; they fix the estimate, so the price does not shift when loading starts.
What goes into the price is detailed on the pricing factors page.
Land freight from Madinah to Bahrain: its advantages and truck types
Land is the main method on this route, because it is the only one that carries everything: furniture, a car, dates and goods. The closed truck is loaded at your door in Madinah and unloaded at the consignee’s door, with no port or airport in between, so handling is reduced and the chance of damage with it. Its cost per kilogram is about a third of air. Its timing is flexible, so you choose the collection day that suits you. And the first decision in it changes the price and the time together: do you take the whole truck, or a space in it?
| Comparison | Shared load | Full truck |
|---|---|---|
| You pay for | Your shipment’s space only | The whole truck |
| Time | 5–7 days | 3–4 days |
| Departure | Once the truck is full | On loading day |
| Handling | May be moved between two trucks in Riyadh | Loaded once and unloaded once |
| Best for | Up to about three rooms, cartons and pallets | A whole home or a large quantity of goods |
The truck itself changes with the load. There is no sense in sending a trailer to a two-room flat, or in loading a villa into a light truck. We choose the vehicle after the survey, not before it:
| Vehicle | What it carries | When we send it |
|---|---|---|
| Closed light truck (Dyna) | One or two rooms, or a few pallets | For small shipments and narrow streets |
| Medium box truck | A flat’s furniture | For flats and small offices |
| Closed trailer | A large home’s or villa’s furniture, or goods in quantity | For a full truck and long shared loads |
| Car carrier | One car or several | Open for standard cars, enclosed for luxury ones |
Experience on this route comes down to this: a shipment smaller than three rooms belongs in a shared load, which brings what you pay to under half. Once it grows beyond that, a full truck gets there sooner and more safely. More on the land freight page.
What is particular to shipping from Madinah
Madinah differs from Jeddah and Makkah in three matters that touch your shipment directly. First, it lies on the Qassim road, so its truck heads east from the first kilometre, with no climb to Taif. Second, it has an international airport, so an air shipment usually needs no transfer to another city. Third, most of its districts are level, so the truck reaches the door of the home in most of them.
On the other hand, the surroundings of the Prophet’s Mosque are crowded with hotels and pedestrians all year. The entry of large trucks into the city centre is governed by hours set by the traffic department, tighter in Ramadan and the Hajj days, and we confirm the hours in force before loading day. The Haramain railway station in Madinah is for passengers only, so goods are not shipped on it. Anyone who arrived by train with extra luggage hands it to us in Madinah and returns travelling light.
| Particularity | Its effect on your shipment | How we handle it |
|---|---|---|
| The direct Qassim road | No mountain passes, and about 850 km to Riyadh | We load from Madinah and from places on the road in one trip |
| An airport in Madinah | The urgent parcel leaves from Madinah itself | We hand it in at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport, or via Jeddah if no suitable flight is available |
| Truck regulation in the centre | Loading cannot happen at any hour | We fix the permitted hour in advance and prepare the packing before it |
| Central-area hotels | No truck parking and no room for long packing | A small vehicle collects suitcases and cartons ready from reception |
| Dates | A food load affected by heat and odours | Loading in the early morning or late at night in summer, and keeping them apart from perfumes |
| Distance from the sea | The nearest port is Yanbu, about 220 km away | Land is the basis to Bahrain, and no port is needed |
Furniture and household goods shipping from Madinah to Bahrain

Furniture from Madinah leaves dry air, crosses Najd for two days, then enters the humidity of an island surrounded by the Gulf. Chipboard, leather and mattresses suffer from that change if they arrive lightly wrapped. So we pack every piece on its own, with a layer that keeps out moisture under a layer that absorbs impact. And we dismantle and pack in your home, not in a warehouse out of your sight.
The living room is an example of what needs planning. It has a large sofa that does not come apart, a glass table, a TV unit, and a screen that is the most expensive and most fragile thing in the room. The sofa is wrapped and loaded standing on its side. The glass is lifted off the table and packed between two boards. The screen goes into a padded wooden crate and stays upright until it arrives. All the pieces are numbered, so the Bahrain team knows where to put each one.
- Survey: by photos or at home, to estimate the volume and see where the truck can stand.
- Dismantling: we take apart bedroom sets, wardrobes and desks, number each panel, and keep every piece’s screws in a bag taped onto it.
- Screens: in padded wooden crates, carried upright with nothing placed on top.
- Household appliances: a fridge or washing machine is never loaded with water in it, so empty both a day ahead of our visit and let them dry. Your appliances run in Bahrain as they are, with no transformer, because the voltage is 230 volts and the socket shape is the same as in the Kingdom.
- Air conditioners: the gas is locked into the outdoor unit before removal, then each of the two units gets its own wrapping.
- Inventory: a numbered list of every carton and piece, which is what is presented to customs on the causeway.
- Loading: heavy items at the bottom, with straps and dividers that stop pieces rubbing all the way.
- Assembly in Bahrain: our team there unloads, assembles, places each piece in its room and removes the packing waste.
The furniture moves to a schedule we agree on: a loading day, an expected crossing day, and a delivery appointment. Service details are on the furniture shipping page.
Professional packing before shipping to Bahrain
Packing is what decides the state of the shipment on arrival, more than the type of truck or the driver’s skill. Two days of vibration are enough to ruin a piece wrapped in a hurry. So we do not use one material for everything; for each item we choose what protects it from the thing it is at risk from:
| What is packed | Material | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Wood and bedrooms | Tight stretch film, then corrugated board, and reinforced corners | Preventing scratches and moisture |
| Sofas and mattresses | Thick plastic bags, then moving blankets | Keeping out dust and dirt |
| Glass, mirrors and marble | Polystyrene and foam, then a wooden crate | Absorbing impact and vibration |
| Screens and sensitive devices | The original carton or a padded wooden crate | Holding the device firm and keeping pressure off it |
| Crockery and ornaments | Paper and foam for each piece, in a double-wall carton | Stopping pieces rubbing against each other |
| Dates and food | Their sealed boxes inside a ventilated carton | Protecting them from heat and odours |
After packing, each carton is marked with its number, the room’s name and its contents, and the number is entered in the inventory. Numbering makes unloading in Bahrain easier and shows any shortage at delivery, on the spot. Packing methods are detailed in the packing guide.
Shipping parcels and dates from Madinah to Bahrain

Most of what is sent from Madinah to Bahrain leaves date shops, not homes. The visitor or resident buys Ajwa, Safawi, Sukkari and Medjool from the central date market or from a shop near the Haram, and wants them to reach family in Muharraq or Hamad Town. The Madinah region is the Kingdom’s third-largest date producer, so the varieties are available all year and demand rises before Ramadan. We collect the parcel from the shop itself once it has been weighed and measured, so you know the price before you book.
| Shipment | How it is charged | Price starts from | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small parcel | Per parcel up to 5 kg | SAR 41 | A box or two of dates, prayer beads, Qurans and light gifts |
| Carton of dates or gifts | Per carton | SAR 140 | Double-wall, and no more than 30 kg |
| Dates in quantity | Per kilogram | SAR 4.6 per kilogram | The most economical for groups and anyone buying for the whole family |
| Many cartons | Per cubic metre | SAR 550 | For anyone with more than four cartons |
| Online shop orders | Per parcel or carton | SAR 41 | With the consignee’s details and the order number on each parcel |
Dates arrive sound when they are packed properly: a sealed box, inside a carton that nothing presses on, with no perfume or incense beside it to lend them its scent. Fresh dates and anything that needs chilling belong on a plane, not a truck. Stick the consignee’s name, address and mobile number in Bahrain on the outside of the parcel, and repeat the details on a slip placed among the boxes. Three things have no place in any parcel: Zamzam water, cash and gold. The parcel comes to the consignee’s door, so there is no office to visit to pick it up. More on the parcel shipping page.
Shipping Bahraini visitors’ luggage from Madinah
The Bahraini visitor reaches Madinah by air in under two and a half hours, or by car over the causeway, and goes home with more than they came with. The airline charges for every extra kilogram, and a car boot does not hold a whole family’s gifts. The answer is for the luggage to travel on its own. We collect it from the hotel or residence before you leave, and it reaches your home in Bahrain a few days after you.
- Suitcase: from SAR 230, wrapped in stretch film, numbered and locked.
- Carton: from SAR 140, and we supply double-wall cartons for anyone without one.
- Groups and tour parties: the party’s luggage is gathered into one shipment and charged per kilogram from SAR 4.6.
- Collection from the hotel: simply deposit your bags at the front desk tagged with your name and mobile number; our courier picks them up and leaves you a receipt for them.
- Timing: hand over your luggage a day before you travel, so it is on the road when you leave.
- What stays with you: passport, cash, medicines and the Zamzam pack dedicated to travellers.
Shipping appliances and equipment from Madinah to Bahrain
Appliances and equipment are high in value and higher in sensitivity. Long vibration harms them more than a single knock; a screw works loose or a screen cracks with nothing showing on the carton. So we separate the sensitive parts and pack each one on its own, and we secure the device inside the truck independently. We suggest air for what is small, valuable and cannot wait.
- Household appliances: from SAR 165 per appliance in a shared load, with polystyrene and reinforced board.
- Phones, computers and cameras: in their boxes inside a second padded carton, with new ones declared by invoice.
- Medical and laboratory devices: a padded wooden crate, with marks showing which way is up.
- Restaurant and workshop equipment: on pallets loaded by forklift and tied with straps.
- Printers and office machines: their inks are removed and their moving parts fixed.
- Documentation and insurance: the device is photographed working, its serial number recorded, and it is insured for its value.
- Before shipping: keep a backup of your data and remove loose batteries.
Commercial goods shipping from Madinah to Bahrain
The Bahraini trader orders from Madinah what sells in his seasons: dates before Ramadan, and prayer beads, rugs and perfumes all year. With them come products of the region’s factories and farms. Saudi Arabia and Bahrain are in one customs union, so goods of Saudi origin cross the causeway free of customs duty when a valid certificate of origin accompanies them. After that, two things matter to the trader: that the goods arrive on time, and that they do not stop on the causeway for a missing paper.
- Units: by the pallet or cubic metre from SAR 550 in a shared load, and by the truck for quantities.
- Commercial dates: with a data label showing the variety and the production and expiry dates; we review the requirements of the competent Bahraini authority with the importer before loading.
- Certificate of origin: for Saudi and Gulf goods; it is what exempts them from duty.
- Foreign goods: carry the unified Gulf duty of 5% if it was not paid on entry to the Gulf.
- VAT: 10% in Bahrain on new goods, collected at import.
- Loading: food never rides next to perfumes or industrial materials, and every product line has its own number so the warehouse can unload it without mix-ups.
- Regular supply: scheduled trips for anyone shipping every week or every month, with a status report on each shipment.
Details are on the commercial shipping page.
Car shipping from Madinah to Bahrain
Driving a car 1,300 km takes two days from its owner and adds to its mileage and tyre wear. A carrier takes the car from your door in Madinah or from the showroom and hands it over in Bahrain as it left. Before loading we photograph the car from every side and sign a condition report with the driver, then its wheels are secured with straps. The choice between an open and an enclosed carrier follows the car’s value, not the distance:
| Car and carrier | How it works | Price starts from |
|---|---|---|
| Small car on a shared carrier | Carries several cars and moves when full | SAR 1,010 |
| 4×4 on a shared carrier | More space and greater weight | SAR 1,470 |
| Luxury or classic car in an enclosed carrier | A closed box that protects from dust and stones | SAR 3,220 |
The paperwork changes with the car’s status, and this is where owners most often go wrong:
- A car exported for good: its fines are cleared first, then the traffic department issues the export certificate and the Saudi plates are handed back.
- A returning car on Bahraini plates: its ownership document and the owner’s ID, and an authorisation if the person handing it over is not the owner.
- A Saudi car on a temporary visit: it enters on its own plates with its owner and is not exported; valid insurance in Bahrain is enough.
- A financed car: needs a no-objection letter from the finance provider before export.
- Age condition: an imported car in Bahrain has a maximum age, counted from its year of manufacture. It stood at 5 years, and approval was then given to make it 10 years. So before shipping we verify which of the two limits is applied to your car.
- Customs duty: 5% of the car’s value if its duty has not been paid in the Gulf before.
- Before loading: a car empty of belongings, and a quarter tank of fuel.
Details are on the car shipping page.
Customs clearance on the King Fahd Causeway and the documents required
The causeway is about 1,270 km from Madinah. A paper forgotten in Madinah is not easily made up for there. So we prepare the complete file before the truck moves, and submit the declaration electronically before it arrives, through the Fasah platform in the Kingdom and the OFOQ system in Bahrain. The advantage of this crossing is that both clearances are in one place on the middle island, so a complete file crosses in hours and an incomplete one spends the night on the causeway.
| Type of shipment | Charges in Bahrain | Documents |
|---|---|---|
| Used furniture and luggage | Exempt for someone moving to live there | ID or Iqama, the consignee’s Bahraini ID card or residence permit, and a detailed list of contents |
| Personal suitcases, gifts and dates | Exempt within personal-use limits | A description of the contents and their value, and the consignee’s address and number |
| Goods of Saudi or Gulf origin | No customs duty, with 10% VAT on new goods | Invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and commercial registration |
| Foreign goods | 5% if not paid before, plus VAT | Invoice, packing list and proof the duty was paid |
| Car | 5% if not paid before | Registration, export certificate and the owner’s ID |
You need not be there at the crossing: you issue the clearing agent an electronic authorisation before you travel, and that settles it. Neither a job-transfer letter nor a tenancy contract in Bahrain is required in every case, but having one makes the furniture exemption smoother. The whole clearance is our responsibility, so there is no causeway to stand on and no office to visit. The paperwork is explained on the required documents page, and the steps of the procedure on the customs clearance page.
What cannot be shipped to Bahrain or needs a permit
One prohibited item in one carton stops the whole truck on the causeway and delays other people’s shipments with it. So we go through the list of contents with you before the cartons are sealed, and leave out what will not cross. These are the main items we are asked about:
| Item | Ruling |
|---|---|
| Zamzam water | Its export is prohibited; not shipped with goods or parcels |
| Drugs and alcohol | Not shipped from the Kingdom |
| Weapons, ammunition and fireworks | Prohibited or by licence |
| Flammable materials and aerosols | Not carried in general freight |
| Medicines and supplements | Personal quantities with a prescription; commercial by licence |
| Tobacco and its products | Subject to excise tax, and not shipped with luggage |
| Wireless devices and drones | By prior permit |
| Palm offshoots, plants and seeds | With a phytosanitary certificate |
| Perfumes and incense in quantity | Declared by type and quantity, with restrictions in air freight |
| Cash, gold and original documents | Not shipped with furniture; they stay with you |
| Counterfeit goods | Confiscated |
The general list is on the prohibited items page.
Delivery in Riffa, Manama, Muharraq and the rest of Bahrain

After the causeway everything gets shorter. Bahrain is a group of islands joined by bridges, and its farthest address is under an hour from the crossing, so delivery happens on the day of crossing itself. Riffa is a clear example: it is about half an hour from the causeway, and most of its homes are villas and residential compounds where the truck stops at the gate, so the team unloads and assembles in the same visit. The towers of Manama and Juffair, by contrast, need the service lift booked before we arrive. We deliver in all four governorates, and to industrial areas and warehouses for traders’ shipments:
| Governorate | Main areas | Delivery note |
|---|---|---|
| Southern | East and West Riffa, Isa Town, Zallaq, Awali | Villas and compounds, and the truck usually reaches the door |
| Capital | Manama, Juffair, Seef, Adliya, Sitra | Towers that need the service lift booked, and Sitra for warehouses and factories |
| Muharraq | Muharraq, Busaiteen, Arad, Hidd, Amwaj Islands | Home to the airport, Salman Industrial City and Khalifa Bin Salman Port |
| Northern | Hamad Town, Saar, Budaiya, Jasra, A’ali | The areas closest to the King Fahd Causeway |
Three numbers make up a Bahraini address: the building number, the road number and the block number. We need them from you, along with a Bahraini mobile for the consignee, the floor number, whether or not the building has a service lift, and then the time the consignee prefers for delivery. Our team also reaches the new residential districts and company premises with no intermediary. For the destination itself, see the shipping to Bahrain page.
Shipping for individuals, companies, government bodies and embassies
The truck is the same and the road is the same, but what each client asks for differs. The individual asks about the safety of their belongings and about the price. The company asks about the date and the invoice. The official body and the embassy ask about procedure, the record and privacy. So we arrange each shipment around its owner, not to one template for all:
| Client | What matters to them | What we provide |
|---|---|---|
| Individuals and families | Safe belongings and a price without surprises | Dismantling, packing and assembly, and follow-up to the front door |
| Visitors and tour parties | Luggage that does not fall behind its owners | Collection from the hotel, and each suitcase numbered with its owner’s name |
| Traders and companies | The date and the documents | Scheduled trips, tax invoices, and a status report on each shipment |
| Government bodies | Official procedure and documentation | Letters, receipt and delivery records, and a full inventory of equipment and supplies |
| Embassies and consulates | Privacy and exact timing | Sealed packing for files, and delivery inside the premises |
Is there sea freight from Madinah to Bahrain?
Madinah has no port. The nearest is Yanbu, about 220 km away, and after it Jeddah Islamic Port, about 420 km away. A ship from the Red Sea to Khalifa Bin Salman Port in Bahrain sails round the whole Arabian Peninsula, so a container takes two to three weeks. The truck arrives in days and at lower cost. That is why we work this route by land and by air, and sea suits only a heavy commercial load whose owner is in no hurry. The full comparison is on the shipping methods comparison page.
Air freight from Madinah to Bahrain

When a shipment cannot bear five days on the road, air becomes the answer. Madinah has an advantage here: Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport is inside the city, with direct flights to Bahrain International Airport several times a week that take under two and a half hours. We collect the shipment from your door or from the date shop, hand it in at the airport, and it reaches the consignee in one to 3 days, including clearance at both airports. If no flight suits the shipment’s size or date, we send it via King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah.
The advantages of air are clear to anyone who needs them. The time is counted in hours, not days, handling is minimal, and the arrival time is known in advance. Its one drawback is cost, so it does not suit what is heavy or bulky.
- For: documents, urgent parcels, boxes of dates wanted before an occasion, small electronics and commercial samples.
- Charging: on the greater of actual and volumetric weight. Work it out with the volumetric weight calculator.
- Price: air freight starts from SAR 14 per kilogram, and express documents from SAR 83.
- When land suits better: above 30 kilograms land is far more economical, and its rate starts from SAR 4.6 per kilogram.
- What it does not suit: furniture, large appliances, liquids, perfumes in quantity and loose batteries.
- Delivery: to the consignee’s address, so they do not go to the airport or visit any office.
Details are on the air freight page.
Collection from Madinah’s districts and governorates
You do not have to bring your belongings to us: the team comes with the packing materials and loads from where you are, whether you live in Quba, Awali, Shuran, Khalidiyah, Salam, Aqool, Difa, Aziziyah or the King Fahd district. Collection extends to the central-area hotels and to the governorates around Madinah, and whatever is collected there travels on the same trip:
| Place | Distance from Madinah | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Central-area hotels | Inside the city | Suitcases and cartons collected from reception by a small vehicle |
| The date market and its shops | Inside the city | We collect the parcel from the shop once it is weighed |
| Al-Hanakiyah | About 110 km | On the Qassim road itself, so it is loaded on the way |
| Badr | About 150 km | Collected before the departure day |
| Khaybar | About 170 km | Collected before the departure day |
| Yanbu | About 220 km | Combined with Madinah shipments in one trip |
Your home in Bahrain may not be ready the day the shipment would arrive, or your date may land at the peak of the visiting season. In that case your belongings stay in our warehouse, wrapped and inventoried, and we send them on the day you choose. Terms are on the storage page.

Quality, tracking and insurance
Quality for us is a set of procedures repeated on every shipment, not a description written in an advert. We inspect each piece before taking it and record its condition. We load in closed, inspected trucks. Packing is done by a team trained for it, not by day labour. After every trip we review what was late and what was damaged and ask why. Anyone with a comment or a complaint finds someone who listens and replies.
Anyone who hands over a shipment and then hears nothing of it for two full days will worry, and rightly so. That is why a single person looks after your shipment from loading onwards, and you have their name and number. They message you as the truck departs Madinah, as it goes through Riyadh, on reaching the causeway and once clearance is complete, then tell you the hour it will pull up at your door.
- Tracking: by shipment number, with an update at each stage. Details are on the track your shipment page.
- Documentation: photos of every piece before packing and after loading.
- Insurance: yours to take or leave, with a premium set as a share of the value you declare. We recommend it when you ship a whole home’s furniture or expensive appliances. It is explained on the cargo insurance page.
- On receipt: check the shipment and note any remark on the delivery record before signing.
Shipping from Bahrain to Madinah
The truck that goes to Bahrain comes back loaded. Our team in Bahrain collects from the sender’s address, clearance is done on the causeway, and the shipment is delivered in the district where you live in Madinah, within truck entry hours. Examples: a Bahraini visitor planning a month in Madinah whose luggage goes ahead to the hotel or residence, and a Saudi who has finished working in Bahrain and returns with used furniture exempt from charges once a list of contents is attached. As for goods of Bahraini origin, the certificate of origin exempts them from duty on entering the Kingdom, although certain new products are admitted only with a conformity certificate.
Tips before shipping from Madinah to Bahrain
- Define your shipment’s type and volume precisely before choosing the method: land for furniture and heavy items, air for what is small and urgent.
- Ask about the expected time before you commit to a travel date or a handover of your home.
- Book two weeks before Ramadan and the Hajj days, or choose a date outside them.
- Ask for insurance if the shipment’s value is high; its cost is small against a road this long.
- Set aside what you will carry yourself: passports, contracts, gold and medicines.
- Check the measurements of the flat door and the lift in Bahrain before shipping a large sofa.
- Keep a copy of the list of contents, the shipment number and the documents on your phone.
How do you choose a shipping company from Madinah to Bahrain?
What a company asks before it gives you a price reveals its experience. One that asks about the volume, the type of home and your address in Bahrain knows the route. One that gives you a figure before hearing anything is guessing, and you pay the difference of that guess on loading day. These signs tell the two apart:
| What you ask about | Reassuring sign | Warning sign |
|---|---|---|
| Time | 3 to 7 days depending on the method | “Within 24 hours” for a home’s furniture from Madinah |
| Price | Itemised after the weight and volume are known | An instant figure with no questions, or a big discount with no original price |
| Madinah’s seasons | Asks about your date and allows for Ramadan and Hajj | Promises loading on any day and from anywhere |
| Customs | Asks: used or new? What is the origin of the goods? | “No customs and no tax” on everything |
| Delivery | A team in Bahrain that unloads and assembles | Their role ends at the causeway |
| Registration | A Saudi commercial registration and a receipt | A mobile number only, with no address or registration |
Common mistakes when shipping from Madinah to Bahrain
- Booking in the last ten days of Ramadan or in the Hajj days.
- Putting Zamzam water in the cartons, so the whole shipment is opened.
- Putting dates with perfumes and incense in one carton.
- Shipping commercial dates without a data label or a certificate of origin.
- Loading furniture without an inventory, so it is delayed on the causeway.
- An address without the building, road and block numbers, or without a Bahraini mobile number.
- Choosing the cheapest figure without asking what it covers.

Frequently asked questions about shipping from Madinah to Bahrain
How much does shipping from Madinah to Bahrain cost?
A carton is priced from SAR 140 and a suitcase from SAR 230, while a parcel weighing 5 kg or less is from SAR 41. For furniture, a bedroom is from SAR 1,100, a small flat from SAR 2,300 and a whole home from SAR 3,220. Moving a car on a carrier is from SAR 1,010. The last figure is settled by your shipment’s volume and where your address is in Bahrain; our number is 0552803439.
How long does shipping from Madinah to Bahrain take?
It depends on the method: a full truck arrives in 3 to 4 days, a shared load in 5 to 7 days, and a flight in one to 3 days. We count the time from the moment the shipment is collected at your home in Madinah until it is handed to the consignee at the door.
How far is Madinah from Bahrain?
About 1,300 km by road to Manama: about 850 km from Madinah to Riyadh via Qassim, then about 420 km to Khobar via Dammam, then the King Fahd Causeway, which is 25 km long.
Which crossing does the shipment enter Bahrain through?
Only one road reaches Bahrain overland, the King Fahd Causeway, and your shipment enters by it. In the middle of the causeway is an island housing Saudi and Bahraini customs together, so both clearances are completed in a single stop.
Is there air freight from Madinah to Bahrain?
Yes, and from Madinah itself. The shipment is loaded at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport and lands at Bahrain International Airport, reaching its owner within one to 3 days. Should it be larger than the available flights accept, we route it through Jeddah airport.
Which is cheaper: land freight or air freight?
The truck is the economical choice for any shipment beyond a handful of kilograms: a kilogram by land is from SAR 4.6 in quantity, and by air from SAR 14. So air is kept for what is light in weight and short on time.
Do you ship Madinah dates to Bahrain?
Yes, and they are among the things we carry most on this route. An individual sends Ajwa, Safawi or other varieties in cartons, while a trader sends them on pallets or in a full truck. A commercial consignment needs three things: an invoice, a certificate of origin and a data label fixed to the pack.
Do you collect Bahraini visitors’ luggage from hotels?
Yes. Just leave your suitcases and cartons at your hotel’s front desk in the central area, or at your residence; our courier takes them, gives you a receipt, and they then reach you at your address in Bahrain.
Can Zamzam water be shipped to Bahrain?
No: Zamzam water may not be exported, so we do not put it in a parcel or among pieces of furniture. The only way to take it is the dedicated travel pack that the traveller carries personally.
Is customs paid on used furniture?
In most cases, no. Someone moving to live in Bahrain brings in used furniture and belongings under an exemption, provided a detailed contents list is attached with a copy of the consignee’s Bahraini ID card or residence permit. A new item still in its box, however, is entered on the declaration and its charges settled.
Is tax paid on gifts and new goods?
Where it is a handful of gifts for the owner’s own use, there are generally no charges. Where it is new stock in commercial quantities, Bahrain applies VAT at 10%, plus a 5% duty on anything of foreign origin on which it was not previously paid.
Do you ship cars from Madinah to Bahrain?
Yes, and the fare follows the type of car and of carrier. On a shared carrier a small car is from SAR 1,010 and a 4×4 from SAR 1,470, and for a luxury car there is an enclosed carrier from SAR 3,220.
What documents are required?
They vary with the type of shipment. Furniture and luggage need a contents list, the sender’s ID or Iqama, and the consignee’s Bahraini ID card or residence permit. Goods need an invoice together with a packing list and a certificate of origin. A car needs its registration, its export certificate and its owner’s ID.
Is shipping affected by the visiting seasons in Madinah?
Yes. Madinah in Ramadan and the Hajj season is not the Madinah of the rest of the year: crowds around the Haram and set hours for trucks entering the centre. So book two weeks before the season begins, and we load within the permitted hours.
Do you ship from Bahrain to Madinah?
Yes, our trucks run between the two countries both ways. Our team picks the shipment up at your address in Bahrain, and it is delivered in the district you name in Madinah, or at the hotel if you are a visitor.
