Who needs air freight from Jeddah to Kuwait?
Kuwait is close to the Kingdom and a truck reaches it from Jeddah in a few days, so nobody turns to the aircraft without a reason. The reason is usually one of three: a paper with a deadline, a part whose absence stops work, or something small and costly that should not be left on a road fifteen hundred kilometres long. The table shows who asks us for the service and what they send.
| Sender | What they send | Why the aircraft |
|---|---|---|
| A company with a client or branch in Kuwait | Contracts, tenders, cheques and original documents | A submission or signing date that cannot slip |
| A workshop or spare-parts dealer | A part for a stopped car, machine or lift | Each day of stoppage costs more than the freight |
| A Kuwaiti family that visited Jeddah or Makkah | Purchases and gifts beyond the ticket allowance | They follow the family a day or two after it lands |
| An Umrah or Hajj pilgrim returning to Kuwait | An extra bag, dates, prayer rugs and gifts | Cheaper than the excess-baggage fee at the airport |
| An online shop in Jeddah | Orders for customers in Kuwait | The customer expects the order within days |
Service specifications: what air freight includes and what it does not suit
Our service runs door to door, not airport to airport. That means you hand the shipment to our courier in Jeddah and the consignee receives it at home or at the office in Kuwait, while everything between the two points, from packing, weighing and the export declaration to booking, clearance and distribution, is handled by us and our agent there. Anyone who prefers delivery at Kuwait International Airport in order to clear it personally may have that, and the clearance and delivery item is taken off the price.
- Collection: from the home, office, hotel or warehouse in Jeddah, at a time you choose.
- Preparation: inspection of the contents, secure packing and a numbered label for every parcel.
- The airport: weighing, measuring, security screening and an air waybill in your name and the consignee’s.
- Kuwait: customs clearance, then delivery to the address against a signature.
- Follow-up: a tracking number and WhatsApp notices until delivery.
The aircraft is not right for everything. It suits what is light in weight and high in value or short of time, and it does not suit a bedroom set, a fridge or twenty cartons of household belongings, which belong on the truck. The general service is described on the air freight page.
The shipment’s route and the expected delivery time in Kuwait
Flying time between King Abdulaziz International Airport and Kuwait International Airport is about two and a quarter hours, and direct flights by more than one carrier operate on the route according to the schedule in force. Even so, the transit time is not measured in hours, because the shipment spends many times longer on the ground than in the air. There is the acceptance cut-off before take-off, there is unloading and customs release after landing, and then the delivery van.
| Stage | What happens | Usual time |
|---|---|---|
| Collection in Jeddah | Inspection, packing, a first weighing and a collection receipt | The day of the request or the next morning |
| The airport cargo building | Weighing, measuring, security screening, export declaration and waybill | Half a day to one day |
| The flight | A direct flight to Kuwait International Airport | About two and a quarter hours |
| Kuwait International Airport | Unloading, import declaration and customs inspection where needed | A few hours to one day |
| Distribution | A delivery van to the consignee’s address | The day of release or the day after |
| Service | Door-to-door time | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Express for documents | 1–2 working days | Envelopes, contracts and official papers |
| Express for small parcels | 1–2 working days | Gifts, small spare parts and mobile phones |
| General air freight | 1–3 days | Cartons, suitcases and goods on pallets |
These times apply to the areas near the airport, such as Kuwait City, Hawalli and Farwaniya, and a day is added for Ahmadi and Jahra in some cases. The table of times for all destinations is on the transit times page.
What lengthens the transit time?
- No civil ID number for the consignee: the Kuwaiti customs declaration is opened in the consignee’s name and number, and without them the shipment waits at the airport.
- Arrival on a Thursday night: the weekend in both countries is Friday and Saturday, and personal parcels are released more slowly on those days.
- An item that needs a permit: a medicine, a wireless device or food in a commercial quantity is referred to its authority before release.
- Seasons: Ramadan, the Hajj days and the Eids crowd Jeddah’s flights and the cargo space on them.
Acceptance, weighing and measuring at the King Abdulaziz International Airport cargo building
The cargo building at King Abdulaziz International Airport in north Jeddah is the point where your belongings become a regular air shipment. No parcel boards the aircraft without being weighed, measured and passed through the screening machine, and none without a waybill. We are the ones who see these steps through, so you need not come to the airport or stand in any queue.

| Step | What happens | What we need from you |
|---|---|---|
| Numbering | A numbered label on every parcel carrying the waybill number, the piece count and Kuwait as the destination | The consignee’s name and mobile number as they will be written |
| Weighing | A certified scale records the weight of each piece and the total | Nothing |
| Measuring | The dimensions of each piece are taken and its volumetric weight worked out | Nothing, and you receive both figures together |
| Security screening | An X-ray machine for every piece, and opening by hand if the screener has doubts | A truthful list of what is inside |
| Export declaration | The shipment is registered with Saudi customs | A copy of the ID or residence permit, and the invoice if it is goods |
| The waybill | Issued with the chargeable weight, the description of the contents and both parties’ names | A check of the names and address before it is approved |
Two figures leave this building and stay with the shipment to the end: the chargeable weight on which the charge is built, and the waybill number you track with. We send you photographs of both before you pay the final amount.
Chargeable weight: why does it differ from the weight on the scale?
An aircraft hold is limited in volume before it is limited in payload. So it is not enough for the carrier to know how much your shipment weighs; it also asks how much room it occupies. It works out a volumetric weight by multiplying the three dimensions in centimetres and dividing the result by 6000, then charges you on the greater of the two figures. In the volumetric weight calculator you enter the measurements and the figure appears at once.
| Shipment | Weight on the scale | Volumetric weight | Chargeable weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Carton of dates 40 × 30 × 25 cm | 12 kg | 5 kg | 12 kg |
| Carton of clothes 50 × 40 × 40 cm | 9 kg | 13.3 kg | 13.3 kg |
| Suitcase 70 × 45 × 28 cm | 22 kg | 14.7 kg | 22 kg |
| Pallet of goods 120 × 100 × 110 cm | 180 kg | 220 kg | 220 kg |
Air freight prices from Jeddah to Kuwait
The air freight charge is made up of a rate per kilogram multiplied by the chargeable weight, plus whichever services you choose: collection and packing in Jeddah, and clearance and delivery in Kuwait. The table sets out our approved starting prices for this route. Whatever Kuwaiti customs may be owed is a separate item paid there, and is not part of any figure in the table.
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| General air freight, per kilogram | Starts from SAR 14 |
| Documents by express | Starts from SAR 83 |
| Small parcel by express, door to door | Set on request according to weight |
| The 100 kg and above band | Lower per kilogram, set on request |
| Insurance on the shipment | A percentage of the value, set on request |
| For comparison: a carton on the road truck | Starts from SAR 140 |
| For comparison: a cubic metre on the road truck | Starts from SAR 550 |
Two examples at the starting price: a shipment with a chargeable weight of 30 kilograms starts from SAR 420 by air, and one with a chargeable weight of 100 kilograms starts from SAR 1,400. The final price reaches you the same day once you send the weight, the measurements and the area in Kuwait to 0552803439.
Prices quoted in the market: what the price guides publish for the Kingdom-to-Kuwait route is clearly higher than that. A kilogram on the express networks is quoted from about SAR 53 and exceeds SAR 350 on some urgent services. An express document envelope is offered at about SAR 165, an express parcel between SAR 275 and SAR 325, and an air parcel up to 5 kilograms between SAR 200 and SAR 250. The cheapest published figure is an economy postal parcel up to 20 kilograms at about SAR 189, but it needs close to ten working days. So always compare a price with its transit time and with what it includes.
| Factor | How it affects the price |
|---|---|
| Chargeable weight | The basis of the calculation, and the higher the band the lower the rate per kilogram |
| Express or general | Express costs more per kilogram and is simpler in procedure; general is cheaper from a few tens of kilograms upwards |
| Scope of service | Door to door, or delivery at Kuwait International Airport |
| The area in Kuwait | Areas near the airport cost less, and Ahmadi and Jahra may carry an added transfer |
| Season and fuel surcharge | Both rise in Ramadan, the Hajj and the Eids, and we show them as a visible item |
How do you lower the cost?
- Shrink the carton to the size of its contents, since every gap in it is kilograms you pay for.
- Gather what you will send this month into one shipment instead of three separate parcels.
- Separate the urgent from the rest: the part needed tomorrow by aircraft, and the other belongings by truck.
- Ask for general air freight rather than express once your shipment passes a few tens of kilograms.
- Have the consignee’s civil ID number ready before shipping, as airport storage charges begin when the papers are late.
The remaining factors are explained on the pricing factors page.
How do you get an accurate cost estimate before booking?
An accurate estimate needs five pieces of information, and each one that is missing turns into a difference on the invoice. That is why we ask about all of them before giving you a figure, and do not stop at “what is the weight?”. Once they are complete, you receive an itemised estimate that tells you what you pay in Jeddah and what the consignee may pay in Kuwait.
- What you are shipping: the exact item, because a mobile phone is not a spare part and neither is a medicine.
- Weight and measurements: for every piece, even approximately, so the chargeable weight can be worked out.
- Value: to estimate the possible Kuwaiti duty and the insurance premium if you ask for it.
- The area in Kuwait: the governorate and the area, and whether delivery is to a home or a company.
- The date: the last acceptable day of arrival, so that we choose between express and general.
Urgent parcels and documents from Jeddah to Kuwait
Most of what we fly on this route is an envelope or a small parcel that its owner wants in Kuwait tomorrow or the day after. These weights have a separate express service: the courier collects them from your address in Jeddah, they are securely packed before shipping, and they enter a network that clears its own shipments and delivers them by hand. So they wait for no consolidation and need no clearing agent appointed by the consignee.

| Type | Examples of what we collect | Time | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Documents | Contracts, powers of attorney, attested certificates, original invoices, passports | 1–2 working days | Starts from SAR 83 |
| Small parcel | A mobile phone, a watch, a spare part, a box of dates, a gift | 1–2 working days | Set on request |
| Medium parcel or more than one carton | Clothes, books, tools, shop purchases | 1–3 days | Starts from SAR 14 per kilogram |
An envelope that holds nothing but papers passes Kuwaiti customs with no duty and no valuation. A parcel, by contrast, has its contents written out item by item with the value of each, and the phrase “personal effects” is not enough. Powers of attorney and certificates that will be presented to an official body in Kuwait are attested in the Kingdom first and then sent, so that they do not travel the route twice. The service is explained on the parcel shipping page.
Express and next-day delivery: what is possible and who carries the shipment?
The short flight between Jeddah and Kuwait makes next-day arrival possible for envelopes and small parcels, without making it guaranteed. It happens when three conditions come together: a morning collection, space on a flight the same day, and complete consignee details that allow release as soon as the aircraft lands. If one of them fails, delivery moves to the second or third day, and that is what we tell you before booking, not after.
And who actually carries the shipment? We do not own aircraft, and neither does any freight office. The shipment travels in the hold of the carriers that operate direct flights between the two airports, or on the international express networks that have their own aircraft and couriers in Kuwait. Our role is to choose the channel that best suits your shipment’s weight and deadline, and to follow it with our agent in Kuwait until the delivery is signed for.
- An urgent envelope or small parcel: an express network, with clearance inside the network and delivery by hand.
- Cartons and suitcases: general air freight on a direct flight, then a clearing agent and a delivery van.
- Goods on pallets: space booked in advance on a named flight, and an import declaration in the company’s name.
- A critical part that cannot wait: the nearest available flight, and follow-up by phone with the clearing agent until release.
Commercial goods and urgent samples
A trader who sends road trucks to Kuwait every month needs the aircraft too, but in specific situations: a sample the buyer approves before the order, a small quantity that fills a gap on a shelf, or goods of high value and low weight. Here the procedure differs from a personal parcel, because the shipment enters Kuwait on a commercial import declaration in the name of a licensed company.
| Case | What marks it out | What we prepare with you |
|---|---|---|
| Samples before a contract | A small value and a decision waiting on them | A samples invoice with a clear description and a true value |
| A product of Saudi origin | Exempt from duty within the Gulf customs union | A certificate of origin issued before shipping |
| Foreign goods that passed through Jeddah | Subject to the unified tariff if it was not paid on entry to the Gulf | Proof that the duty was paid, or a transit declaration |
| Food and cosmetics | An Arabic label and sufficient shelf life | A review of the label before shipping, not after |
Agree in writing with the Kuwaiti buyer on who pays the freight and who bears the duty and clearance, and record it on the invoice. A dispute over these two items is what most often holds a commercial shipment at the airport. The service is detailed on the commercial shipping page.
Documents required for air freight to Kuwait
The paperwork for air freight to Kuwait is light, but one item in it has no substitute: the consignee’s civil ID number. Kuwaiti customs ties every personal parcel to a real beneficiary who holds a civil ID, and does not accept it under a vague name or in the name of a company that is not a party to it. We prepare the remaining documents with you at collection.
| Type of shipment | From the sender in Jeddah | From the consignee in Kuwait |
|---|---|---|
| Documents | A copy of the ID or residence permit | Name, mobile number and address |
| Personal parcel or gift | The ID, and a list of the contents with the value of each item | The name as on the civil ID and its number, and the mobile number |
| A traveller’s or pilgrim’s luggage | The passport, and a list of the contents | The civil ID or passport, and the home address |
| Commercial goods | The commercial registration, an invoice, a packing list and a certificate of origin | The trade licence and import licence, and any approvals the item requires |
| Personal medicine | The prescription or medical report | Whatever the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health requires for the item |
The air waybill and the Saudi export declaration are our own work. Each document and when it is asked for are explained on the shipping documents page.
Kuwaiti customs and duties on air shipments
The Kingdom and Kuwait are both members of the Gulf Cooperation Council customs union, which lightens the procedure without removing it. Every shipment that lands at Kuwait International Airport has a declaration opened for it, is valued, and is then released with duty or with an exemption. The rules below are those currently applied, and some of them are instructions that change from time to time, so we confirm what applies to your case before shipping.
| Item | Treatment currently applied |
|---|---|
| Documents | No duty |
| Personal parcel | Exempt within a value of about 100 Kuwaiti dinars under the customs instructions, and a real beneficiary with a civil ID is required |
| Anything above the exemption limit | Mostly the 5% unified Gulf tariff on the value |
| Goods of Saudi or Gulf origin | Exempt from duty with a certificate of origin |
| Goods of foreign origin | Mostly 5% if the duty was not paid at the first Gulf point of entry |
| Value added tax | Not applied by Kuwait under the rules in force, and we confirm what applies before shipping |
| Clearance by individuals on a waybill | Available a limited number of times a year, and anything beyond is treated as commercial |
The duty is paid by the consignee at release unless you ask to bear it on their behalf, in which case it is added to your invoice once collected. Tell the consignee about it before the shipment flies, so that a payment message does not come as a surprise. The procedure is explained on the customs clearance page, and the destination page is shipping to Kuwait.
Tips for avoiding customs problems
- Write the consignee’s name exactly as on the civil ID, letter for letter, together with its number.
- Attach the purchase invoice for everything that is new, even if it is a gift.
- Declare the true value, because a token value invites revaluation and forfeits your right to compensation.
- Ask about a medicine, a wireless device or an e-cigarette before putting it in the carton.
- Ask the consignee to answer the clearing agent’s call on the day of arrival.
What cannot be sent by air and what Kuwait prohibits
There are two different lists here that senders confuse. The first is what aviation safety rules prohibit or restrict whatever the destination, because it burns, explodes or leaks in the hold. The second is what Kuwait bars from entry altogether by any means. For items on the first list the answer is usually the truck, and for items on the second there is no answer.
| Item | Ruling |
|---|---|
| Perfumes and oud oil with alcohol | Restricted by air, accepted only as declared dangerous goods, and their practical route is the truck |
| Scented incense, charcoal and lighters | Prohibited or restricted by air according to type |
| Aerosol cans and pressurised fresheners | Not accepted in an ordinary air parcel |
| Lithium batteries inside the device | Accepted under conditions: device switched off and protected against activation, with a special label |
| Loose batteries and power banks | Not loaded on passenger aircraft |
| Alcohol, narcotics, pork and pork products | Barred from entry by Kuwait |
| Publications and materials contrary to public morals | Prohibited in Kuwait and confiscated |
| Narcotic and psychotropic medicines | Prohibited, or subject to prior permission from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health |
| E-cigarettes, their liquids and tobacco | Restricted by quantities and conditions, so we confirm what applies before shipping |
| Cash, gold and jewellery | Not accepted in ordinary freight |
Tell us what the shipment contains as it is, because a review at collection is easier than having the parcel returned from the screening machine after a place on the flight has been booked for it. The general list for all destinations is on the prohibited items page.
Delivering air freight in Kuwait City, Hawalli, Salmiya and Farwaniya
Kuwait is a small country in area, and its international airport lies in Farwaniya Governorate, a short distance south of the capital. The delivery van therefore reaches most addresses within an hour or less of leaving the airport, and delivery takes place on the day of release or the following morning. The distribution network there is run by our agent: a clearing agent at the airport, then couriers who distribute across the six governorates to the address.

| Governorate | Main areas | Delivery after release |
|---|---|---|
| Capital | Kuwait City, Sharq, Shuwaikh, Kaifan, Dasma | Mostly the same day |
| Hawalli | Hawalli, Salmiya, Jabriya, Mishref, Salwa | Mostly the same day |
| Farwaniya | Farwaniya, Khaitan, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Ardiya | The same day, as it is nearest to the airport |
| Mubarak Al-Kabeer | Sabah Al-Salem, Qurain, Adan | The same day or the next |
| Ahmadi | Ahmadi, Fahaheel, Mangaf, Mahboula | Mostly the next day |
| Jahra | Jahra, Saad Al-Abdullah | Mostly the next day |
A Kuwaiti address is written in a fixed order: the area, then the block number, then the street or avenue, then the house or building number with the floor and flat. The automated address number, where there is one, saves the courier the search. A Kuwaiti mobile number whose owner answers is essential, because the courier calls before setting out, and delivery is made against a signature and sight of an ID. The other destinations are on the shipping destinations page.
Air freight or land freight by truck from Jeddah to Kuwait?
This is the most important question in the article, and the honest answer is that the truck is the main way to Kuwait and the aircraft is for the exception. The road from Jeddah is about 1,500 kilometres through Qassim and Hafar al-Batin to the Ar Ruqi crossing, and a closed truck covers it and delivers within days at a cost that bears no comparison with the air. The aircraft wins when the difference between two days and six is worth money to you.

| Comparison | Air freight | Land freight by truck |
|---|---|---|
| Door-to-door time | 1–3 days | 3–5 days for a full truck, and 5–8 for a shared load |
| How it is charged | Per kilogram on the chargeable weight | By the piece, the cubic metre or the truck |
| Starting price | SAR 14 per kilogram | A carton from SAR 140, and a cubic metre from SAR 550 |
| Best suited to | Documents, urgent parcels and spare parts | Furniture, appliances, large loads and cars |
| Restrictions | Strict on perfumes, batteries and liquids | Broad, taking what the aircraft will not |
| Point of entry | Kuwait International Airport | The Ar Ruqi crossing facing Salmi, or Khafji facing Nuwaiseeb |
To put the picture in figures: a single cubic metre of belongings is charged by air as at least 167 kilograms however light it is, so its freight starts from about SAR 2,340, while by road it starts from SAR 550. A bedroom set moves by truck from SAR 920, and there is no sense in flying it. That is why we suggest what suits your shipment best once we know its weight and deadline, and our suggestion is often the truck.
As for the sea, it is not relied upon for Kuwait from Jeddah, because the ship sails right round the Arabian Peninsula to reach a port that the truck reaches in three days. The details of the road route and furniture prices are in the article shipping from Jeddah to Kuwait, the general comparison between methods is on the shipping methods comparison page, and the truck service is on the land freight page.
Car shipping to Kuwait: by aircraft or on a carrier?
A car is flown in a few cases: a rare or expensive sports car, or a car going to an exhibition with a fixed date. It is then loaded on a freighter aircraft, secured on a special pallet, and its price is set on request once its dimensions and weight are known. Otherwise the car travels to Kuwait by road, which is the natural route between two neighbouring countries.
- The closed carrier: takes the car from Jeddah to Kuwait in 3–5 days, at a price starting from SAR 2,300.
- Permanent export: requires cancelling the plates and an export certificate from the traffic department once fines are settled.
- The age condition: a used car entering Kuwait must fall within the age ceiling the country applies, and we check your car against it before it is loaded.
Export steps for every destination are gathered in our guide to car shipping from Saudi Arabia, while the car shipping page sets the carrier types side by side.
Secure packing before air freight
The flight is short, but the parcel is lifted and set down more than ten times between your door and the consignee’s: the collection van, the airport scale, the screening belt, the loading platform, the hold, and then all of it in reverse in Kuwait. Our secure packing keeps two things in view together: that nothing breaks, and that the carton does not grow and raise the volumetric weight for no reason.
- A new double-wall carton: it bears stacking on top, unlike a used grocery carton.
- Filling with no gaps: what moves inside the carton breaks, and what is held firm survives.
- Mobile phone and laptop: in the original box, then inside a second padded carton.
- Dates and food: tight packs and an inner bag that stops date syrup leaking.
- The suitcase: wrapped in clear film, with the numbered label fixed on two sides.
Packing methods for each kind of item are on the packing guide page.
Collection from Jeddah’s districts and nearby towns
The airport is in north Jeddah and our couriers move through its districts every day, so a shipment requested before noon spends the night in the cargo building on most days. We collect from the flat, the villa, the office, the shop and the hotel, and from pilgrims’ lodgings before they travel. For the towns near Jeddah we arrange a collection run according to the size of what is to be shipped.
| Zone | Districts and sites | Collection time |
|---|---|---|
| The north, near the airport | North and South Obhur, Al-Hamdaniyah, As-Salhiyah, Al-Marjan, Az-Zahra | The day of the request |
| The centre | Ar-Rawdah, Al-Khalidiyah, As-Salamah, Al-Aziziyah, Ar-Rehab, Mishrifah | Mostly the day of the request |
| The south and Al-Balad | Historic Al-Balad, Al-Kandarah, Ath-Thaghr, Al-Jamiah, Al-Mahjar, the industrial area | The day of the request or the next morning |
| Hotels and guests’ lodgings | Jeddah hotels, and the Makkah hotels around the Haram | By appointment ahead of travel |
| Makkah and Taif | Residential districts and markets | Within one to two days |
| Bahrah, Dhahban, Thuwal and Rabigh | Homes, company sites and factories | By prior arrangement |
What follows collection, up to the consignee’s door, is explained on the door to door page, and all our air services from the city are in the article air freight office in Jeddah.
Steps for air freight from Jeddah to Kuwait
- Message us on 0552803439 with what you will ship, its weight and measurements, and the consignee’s area in Kuwait.
- We send you an itemised estimate and tell you frankly if the truck suits your shipment better.
- You give us the consignee’s name, civil ID number and mobile number, and we go through the contents with you.
- The courier comes to your address in Jeddah, packs, numbers and hands you the collection receipt.
- The shipment enters the airport cargo building, where it is weighed, measured and screened and the export declaration is registered.
- You receive the chargeable weight and the waybill number, and the shipment is then loaded on the booked flight.
- Our agent clears it at Kuwait International Airport, and the consignee pays the duty if it falls due.
- It is delivered at the address against a signature, and we send you the delivery notice.
Shipment tracking, insurance and additional services
Tracking with us works in two ways at once. The first is the air waybill number, which you enter on the carrier’s tracking page to see the shipment’s status: accepted, then departed, then arrived, then released. The second is our staff’s WhatsApp messages at every move, which carry what tracking pages do not say: the reason for a stop if it stops, and the courier’s name and number when it goes out for distribution. The follow-up service is on the shipment tracking page.
Insurance is an item you choose yourself. The air carrier compensates for damage and loss up to a ceiling worked out on weight, so the compensation for a mobile phone weighing less than a kilogram comes to a trifling sum. Insurance lifts the cover to the value you declared and is calculated as a percentage of it. What it covers and what it excludes is set out on the cargo insurance page.
- Temporary keeping: we hold the shipment for some days until the consignee returns from travel or your occasion comes round.
- Consolidating purchases: we collect from more than one shop in Jeddah and combine them under one waybill.
- Bearing the duty for the consignee: we pay what is due in Kuwait and add it to your invoice, by prior request.
If the shipment is delayed or lost: what happens?
Delay in air freight to Kuwait is uncommon and loss is rarer still, but both do occur, and knowing the procedure beforehand is better than confusion at the time. The first thing we do when a shipment is late is to pin down exactly where it is from the waybill record, because the remedy differs with the place where it stopped.
- Stopped at Jeddah airport: usually for a restricted item found in screening, so we call you to remove it or declare it.
- Held at Kuwaiti customs: for a document, a civil ID number or an invoice, usually completed within a day.
- Visible damage at delivery: the consignee writes a remark on the delivery receipt before signing and photographs the parcel.
If loss or damage is established, we file the claim with the carrier in writing, with the waybill, the invoice and the photographs. The rules of international air carriage set short time limits for this: fourteen days from receipt to report damage to cargo, and twenty-one days for delay. The carrier’s compensation is capped by weight, and insurance, where taken, covers the declared value. The terms of each booking are written in its confirmation.
How do you make sure your shipment arrives in the shortest time?
Speed in air freight is not bought by the dearest service alone. Half of it is made by the sender before the shipment leaves home, through small arrangements that cost nothing.
- Ask for collection early in the morning, so the shipment catches a flight the same day.
- Ship from Sunday to Wednesday, to avoid an arrival that falls on the Friday and Saturday weekend.
- Send the civil ID number and the address with the first request, not after the aircraft has taken off.
- Leave out anything that could stop the security screening: perfume, a power bank, a lighter.
- Avoid the last days of Ramadan and the days when pilgrims return, if your date can be brought forward.
Air freight from Kuwait to Jeddah
The route works in both directions. What comes from Kuwait to Jeddah is mostly purchases from its markets and online shops, company papers, and belongings that people in Kuwait send to their relatives in Jeddah and Makkah. Our agent collects the shipment from the address in Kuwait, it flies to King Abdulaziz International Airport, and we then clear and deliver it ourselves.
- Time: close to the outbound time, one to 3 days door to door.
- Saudi customs: duty according to the item and 15% value added tax on imports.
- Gulf origin: goods of Kuwaiti origin are exempt from duty with a certificate of origin.
How do you choose an air freight company from Jeddah to Kuwait?
Because the route is short and busy, many in Jeddah offer it, from a licensed office with an agent in Kuwait to a middleman who gathers parcels and hands them to someone else. You will not tell the difference from the advertisement. You tell it from three things: what they ask you before the price, what they put in writing after it, and who answers you when the shipment is late.
| What you look at | What reassures | What calls for caution |
|---|---|---|
| Legal standing | A visible commercial registration and a receipt in the establishment’s name | No name and no registration, and a transfer to an individual’s account |
| Questions before the price | They ask about measurements, contents and the civil ID number | They give a figure from the weight alone |
| Frankness about the alternative | They tell you the truck is cheaper for your shipment | They sell air for everything, even a bedroom set |
| Kuwaiti customs | They explain the exemption limit and who pays the duty | “There are no customs between Gulf states” without qualification |
| After take-off | A waybill number and a known agent in Kuwait | No number, and nobody answers after collection |
Common mistakes in air freight to Kuwait
- Choosing the aircraft for a heavy, non-urgent load that reaches Kuwait by truck in days and at a quarter of the cost.
- Sending the parcel in the consignee’s name without the civil ID number, then waiting days for it at the airport.
- Estimating the charge from the scale weight and overlooking the carton’s measurements.
- Slipping a bottle of perfume or oud oil among the clothes in the hope that the screening machine will not see it.
- Declaring a token value for an expensive device, then asking for full compensation when it is damaged.
- Assuming the Gulf has no customs, and neglecting the invoice and the certificate of origin.
- Handing over the shipment on Thursday afternoon and expecting it to arrive before the weekend.

Frequently asked questions about air freight from Jeddah to Kuwait
How much does air freight from Jeddah to Kuwait cost?
The charge is worked out on the chargeable weight and starts from SAR 14 per kilogram for general air freight and from SAR 83 for a document envelope on the express service. A small express parcel is priced on request according to its weight and contents. Kuwaiti duty, if it falls due, is paid there by the consignee.
How long does a shipment take by air from Jeddah to Kuwait?
The aircraft covers the distance in roughly two and a quarter hours, but the time that matters to you runs from your door to the consignee’s door: one to two working days for documents and small parcels on the express service, and one to 3 days for general air freight.
Are there direct flights between Jeddah and Kuwait?
Yes. More than one carrier links King Abdulaziz International Airport with Kuwait International Airport by direct flights, and their number and timings follow the flight schedule in force each season. We book your shipment on the nearest flight with cargo space and give you its number and time before you pay.
Can the shipment arrive the next day?
That is possible for an envelope or a small parcel when it is collected in the morning, the consignee’s details and civil ID number are ready, and there is space on a flight the same day. It is not a fixed promise, though, because customs release in Kuwait is outside any carrier’s control.
What is chargeable weight and how do I work it out?
It is the greater of the shipment’s weight on the scale and its volumetric weight. Volumetric weight equals length times width times height in centimetres, divided by 6000. So a light carton of clothes measuring 50 × 40 × 40 cm is charged as 13.3 kilograms even if it weighs only 9 kilograms.
When is land freight to Kuwait better than air?
For everything that is heavy or bulky and not urgent. A closed truck reaches Kuwait in 3 to 5 days as a full load and 5 to 8 days as a shared load, and a cubic metre on it starts from SAR 550. The same cubic metre by air is charged as at least 167 kilograms, which means from about SAR 2,340.
Does the consignee pay customs duty in Kuwait?
Documents carry no duty. A personal parcel is exempt under the customs instructions currently applied when its value is within about 100 Kuwaiti dinars, and anything above that is mostly subject to the 5% unified Gulf tariff. Goods of Saudi origin are exempt with a certificate of origin. Kuwait does not apply value added tax under the rules in force, and we confirm what applies before shipping.
Which documents are required for air freight to Kuwait?
From the sender in Jeddah: a copy of the national ID or residence permit, and a list of the contents with the value of each item. From the consignee in Kuwait: the name as it appears on the civil ID and its number, a mobile number, and the address by area, block, street and house. For commercial goods: an invoice, a packing list, a certificate of origin and the importer’s import licence.
Can perfume, incense and oud oil be sent by air?
Perfume and oud oil blended with alcohol are flammable liquids, so they are not accepted in an ordinary air parcel, only as declared dangerous goods with special packaging and a higher charge. The practical answer on this route is to send them with the road truck, which does not impose these restrictions and arrives within a few days.
Can dates, gifts and medicines be shipped?
Dates, coffee, cardamom, sweets and clothing travel without complication in their sealed packs. Personal medicines need a prescription and a limited treatment quantity, and some narcotic and psychotropic medicines are barred from entering Kuwait or need a permit from the Ministry of Health there. Zamzam water is not carried in shipments.
Can I track the shipment?
Yes. On the day of booking you receive the air waybill number, and with it you follow acceptance at King Abdulaziz Airport, departure, arrival at Kuwait airport, release and dispatch for distribution. On top of that, our staff send you a WhatsApp notice at each stage.
What do I do if the shipment is late or does not arrive?
Give us the waybill number and within hours we establish where it stopped: at Jeddah airport, on a postponed flight, or at Kuwaiti customs awaiting a document. Most delays come from a missing document that is completed within a day. If loss or damage is established, we file the claim with the carrier in writing within the statutory time limit and follow it with you until it is settled.
Is insurance on an air shipment necessary?
It is optional, but it earns its cost for a mobile phone, a laptop, an expensive spare part or a valuable sample. The air carrier’s liability for damage and loss is capped at an amount per kilogram, and a two-kilogram parcel can be worth many times that cap. Insurance is calculated as a percentage of the declared value, and its premium is set on request.
Can a car be flown to Kuwait?
Owners of rare cars and exhibition cars ask for this, and it is done on a freighter aircraft at a price set on request. An ordinary car, however, travels on a closed car carrier through the Ar Ruqi crossing in 3 to 5 days, at a price starting from SAR 2,300. Kuwait sets a condition on the age of an imported car, which we confirm for you before shipping.
Do you ship by air from Kuwait to Jeddah?
Yes. Our agent in Kuwait collects from the shop or the home, the shipment flies to King Abdulaziz International Airport, and we then clear it and deliver it to your address in Jeddah or Makkah. Imports into the Kingdom attract duty according to the item and 15% value added tax, and goods of Gulf origin are exempt from duty with their certificate.
