Who ships from Mecca to Oman, and what do they ship?

Oman is the Gulf country farthest from Makkah, yet shipping between them never stops. Omani Hajj and Umrah pilgrims go home with more luggage than they came with. An Omani who has finished working or studying in Makkah returns with a whole household. A resident moving to Muscat or Duqm takes his furniture and car. And the trader in Nizwa or Salalah buys seasonal goods from Makkah’s markets. Each of them has a method that suits what he ships:

Shipper What they ship Most suitable method
The Omani Hajj or Umrah pilgrim Suitcases, gifts and extra cartons By the carton or suitcase by land, or by air if urgent
The Omani returning home Household furniture, appliances and a car A full truck and a car carrier
The employee moving to Oman A bedroom, cartons and suitcases Shared load
Someone sending to family Parcels, small appliances and dates Door-to-door parcels
The trader Prayer rugs, prayer beads, perfumes, incense and ihram clothing By the kilogram or by the truck, with an invoice and certificate of origin
Companies, public bodies and embassies Office furniture, equipment and documents A dedicated truck on a set date, or air

The route from Mecca to Oman via the Empty Quarter crossing

Mecca to Oman via the Empty Quarter crossing

The truck crosses the Kingdom from its west to its far south-east. It climbs from Makkah to Taif, then runs about 870 km on the Riyadh highway. From Riyadh it heads to Al-Kharj and Haradh, then joins the Empty Quarter road at the Batha junction and covers 564 km on it to the Saudi border post. After the Omani Ramlat Khaliya post, 161 km remain to the wilayat of Ibri, and from there on to Nizwa and Muscat. This route crosses one direct border between the two countries, without passing through a third state.

Stage Approximate distance What happens on it
Makkah → Riyadh About 870 km via Taif The longest inhabited stage; Jeddah and Taif shipments join it
Riyadh → Batha junction Via Al-Kharj and Haradh Filling up with fuel and water and checking the tyres before the desert
Empty Quarter road 564 km to the border post Open desert with widely spaced stations
Empty Quarter post ↔ Ramlat Khaliya — Saudi export, then Omani clearance
Ramlat Khaliya → Ibri 161 km The first Omani town, where distribution branches out
Ibri → Muscat About 300 km via Nizwa Delivery to the addresses

There is a second route that crosses the Batha border post into the UAE and then enters Oman from the Buraimi or Sohar side. We choose it only when your destination is in the north of the Sultanate, because it involves two borders and an extra transit declaration. The table shows when each route fits:

Comparison The direct route via the Empty Quarter The route through the UAE
Number of borders One border Two borders, with a transit crossing
Documents Saudi export and Omani clearance A transit declaration in the UAE is added
Enters Oman at Ibri in Al Dhahirah Governorate Buraimi or North Al Batinah
Best for Ibri, Nizwa, Muscat, Sur, Duqm and Salalah Buraimi, Sohar, North Al Batinah and Musandam
Services along the road Few; the truck sets out fully prepared Plenty along its length

Transit time from Mecca to Oman

The driving alone from Makkah to Muscat takes more than 24 hours, so it is spread over three days with the driver’s rest periods. Added to it are a day for packing and loading in Makkah, the clearance time at the two border posts, and a day for distribution and unloading in Oman. That is why we do not promise less than 5 days door to door, and anyone who promises you less has not counted the road.

Method Door-to-door time Suits
Full truck 5–7 days A whole household’s furniture and goods
Shared load 7–10 days One or two rooms, and cartons
Car carrier 5–8 days Cars
Parcels and luggage by land 7–10 days Cartons and suitcases
Air via Jeddah airport One to 3 days Documents and urgent luggage

What lengthens the time?

  • Hajj and Ramadan: truck movement inside Makkah is restricted, so loading is delayed unless booked early.
  • Waiting for consolidation: shared loads to Oman run less often than others, so they wait for the truck to fill.
  • A distant destination: Salalah, Duqm and Musandam add one to two days on top of Muscat.
  • A missing paper: the border post is far from every town, with no nearby office to issue it.
  • Weather: sandstorms in the Empty Quarter, and the khareef fog in Dhofar between June and September.

The table of times for all destinations is on the transit times page.

Shipping prices from Mecca to Muscat and the other Omani cities

On this route the price is governed by distance before anything else. A parcel is priced by its weight, furniture by its volume, and a car by its type of carrier. The delivery city changes the figure more than it does in any other Gulf country, because Salalah is about 1,000 km from Muscat. These are the prices our services start from, from your door in Makkah:

What you ship To Muscat and around it To Salalah
Parcel up to 5 kg Starts from SAR 41 Starts from SAR 50
Carton Starts from SAR 140 Starts from SAR 140
Items above 50 kg Starts from SAR 5.5 per kilogram Starts from SAR 7.4 per kilogram
Complete bedroom Starts from SAR 2,300 Starts from SAR 3,200
A flat’s furniture Starts from SAR 4,600 Set on request
Car on a carrier Starts from SAR 3,500 Set on request
Air freight via Jeddah airport Starts from SAR 14 per kilogram Via Muscat
Documents by express Starts from SAR 83 Set on request

Prices circulating in the market for this route: a parcel up to 5 kg between SAR 45 and 65 to Muscat and between SAR 55 and 75 to Salalah, a kilogram in heavy shipments between SAR 6 and 9 to Muscat and between SAR 8 and 12 to Salalah, a carton from SAR 150, and a room of furniture from SAR 2,500 to Muscat and from SAR 3,500 to Salalah. Higher figures circulate too: furniture moving between SAR 1,500 and 5,000, commercial goods about SAR 1,200 per 100 kg, and a car between SAR 8,000 and 12,000, with 10 to 15% more for Sohar and Salalah. So use the table as a point of comparison for any figure you receive, and ask: does it include packing, clearance and unloading?

What sets the price Its effect
Volume Sets the size of the truck. Work it out with the CBM calculator
Weight Governs parcels and air freight
Full truck or shared A full truck is faster and dearer; in a shared one you pay for your space only
Delivery city Muscat, Nizwa and Ibri are on the road; Salalah, Duqm and Musandam are farther
Route The direct one, or through the UAE with its transit declaration
Services and season Dismantling, packing and assembly are separate items, and Hajj and Ramadan bring higher demand

How do you lower the cost?

  • Sort before packing: whatever costs less in Muscat than its carriage over 2,200 km is better sold in Makkah.
  • Choose a shared load if your date can take three extra days.
  • Combine your cartons into one shipment; the kilogram above 50 kg is far cheaper than the parcel price.
  • Obtain the certificate of origin for Saudi goods, and the 5% duty falls away.
  • Book two weeks before Ramadan and Hajj, or choose a date outside them.

What is particular to shipping from Makkah

Loading in Makkah differs from loading in any other city in the Kingdom. The entry of large trucks is regulated by hours, and the regulation tightens in Ramadan and Hajj. Many districts are built on hillsides, and their roads cannot take a long truck. And Makkah has neither an airport nor a port. So the date we give you is built on these constraints, not on distance alone.

  • Loading hour: we agree it in advance within the time permitted for trucks to enter.
  • Hillside homes: a small vehicle brings the items down to the truck waiting at the nearest wide road.
  • Hajj: we load before the season, or the shipment stays packed in our warehouse until after it.
  • Hotels: suitcases and cartons are collected from reception against a receipt, before or after their owner leaves.
  • Air and sea: both leave from Jeddah, about 80 km from Makkah.

Shipping furniture and household goods from Mecca to Oman

Your furniture will stay in the truck for at least three days, hundreds of kilometres of them in the largest continuous sand desert in the world. Fine sand gets into every gap: between sofa cushions, under wardrobe doors and inside appliances. And heat softens weak adhesive. So here we pack against sand and heat before we pack against impact, and we load into a closed truck with tightly sealed doors.

  • Survey: by photos or at the home, to estimate the volume and check whether the truck can reach the door.
  • Dismantling: bedrooms, wardrobes and kitchens are dismantled, their parts numbered, and their screws kept in bags taped to them.
  • Packing: tight wrap on all sides for sofas and mattresses, blankets and corrugated cardboard for wood, and wooden crates for glass and marble.
  • Air conditioners: the gas is pumped down into the outdoor unit, and the openings of both units are sealed tightly.
  • Inventory: a numbered list of every carton and piece, which is what is presented to Omani customs.
  • Unloading and assembly: our team in Oman unloads and assembles bedrooms and wardrobes, and removes the packing waste.

Service details are on the furniture shipping page, and packing methods in the packing guide.

Land freight options: full truck or shared load?

Land is the main method to Oman, and the most economical for anything heavy or bulky. The first question in it is whether you take the truck alone or share it. A full truck moves on your loading day and takes the shortest road to your door. A shared one waits until it is full, then drops each shipment with its owner in more than one wilayat. If your destination is Muscat or Nizwa, a shared load is practical; if it is Salalah or Duqm, ask about the trip date before you decide.

Comparison Shared load Full truck
You pay for Your shipment’s space only The whole truck
Time to Muscat 7–10 days 5–7 days
Departure Once the truck is full On loading day
Handling May be moved between two trucks Loaded once and unloaded once
Best for Up to about three rooms A whole household or a large quantity of goods

The type of truck follows the load: closed for furniture and general goods, flatbed for equipment, and refrigerated for food. Details are on the land freight page.

Shipping small parcels and the luggage of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims

Most of what leaves Makkah for Oman is not furniture but suitcases and cartons: an Umrah pilgrim’s gifts, a Hajj pilgrim’s luggage that exceeded the aircraft allowance or the room on the coach, and a carton a resident sends to his family. We collect them from the hotel or home and give you a waybill showing the tracking number, the number of pieces, their weight and the consignee’s name. Pricing is by the parcel up to 5 kg, then by the carton, then by the kilogram as the weight grows.

Parcel How it is priced Price to Muscat Note
Small parcel Up to 5 kg Starts from SAR 41 Gifts, prayer beads, copies of the Quran and clothes
Carton Per carton Starts from SAR 140 Double-walled, and no more than 30 kg
Luggage and many cartons Per kilogram above 50 kg Starts from SAR 5.5 per kilogram The most economical for a family or one pilgrim group
Urgent parcel or documents Air, by chargeable weight Starts from SAR 14 per kilogram Arrives in one to 3 days

Before a piece leaves Makkah, the consignee’s name, Omani number and wilayat are written on it in clear lettering. Three things have no place inside a parcel: Zamzam water, cash and gold. The remaining conditions are set out on the parcel shipping page.

Shipping electronics and electrical appliances safely

An appliance is damaged by long vibration before it is damaged by impact, and the Oman road is the longest vibration a Gulf shipment goes through. Added to it is the sand that gets into ventilation openings. So every appliance is sealed in a tight bag before it goes into its carton, and whatever moves inside it is secured.

  • Screens: in their original carton or a padded wooden crate, carried upright on top of heavy items, not under them.
  • Phones and computers: kept in the original box, which then goes into a second padded carton; a new device is declared together with its invoice.
  • Fridges and washing machines: emptied and dried a day ahead, with the washing machine drum and the fridge shelves secured.
  • Small appliances: foam and dividers inside a double-walled carton marked “Fragile”.
  • Electricity: Oman runs on 240 volts and its sockets match those of the Kingdom, so no transformer is needed for your appliances there.
  • Anything of value: photographed while working, declared at its value, and insured.

Shipping commercial goods and products from Mecca to Oman

What the Omani market asks of Makkah is well known: prayer rugs, prayer beads, ihram clothing, perfumes, incense and dates, with demand rising before Ramadan and Hajj. Saudi Arabia and Oman are in one customs union, so goods of Saudi origin cross without customs duty when a valid certificate of origin accompanies them. For anyone who ships regularly, we arrange periodic trips at an agreed price.

  • Units: by the kilogram or pallet in a shared load, and by the truck for quantities.
  • Certificate of origin: from the chamber of commerce for Saudi and Gulf goods; it is what exempts them from duty.
  • Foreign goods: subject to the unified Gulf duty of 5% if it was not paid when they entered the Gulf.
  • Value added tax: 5% in Oman on new goods, collected on import.
  • Dates and food: with a product label and an expiry date, and chilled items in a refrigerated truck.
  • Perfumes and incense: declared by type and quantity, and restricted in air freight.

Details are on the commercial shipping page.

Car shipping from Mecca to Oman: procedures and prices

Car shipping from Mecca to Oman

Driving a car from Makkah to Muscat means more than 2,200 km on its wheels, hundreds of them in a desert with widely spaced stations. A carrier spares you that: it collects the car from your home or the showroom and hands it over in Oman with its odometer as it left. An enclosed carrier suits this long road best, because it protects the paint and glass from sand and gravel. The price starts from SAR 3,500 to Muscat.

Item Detail
Export from the Kingdom Paying the fines, then an export certificate from the traffic department and cancelling the plates
Age condition The rule in practice is that a private car is not registered in Oman once it reaches 7 years of age, and trucks and buses 10 years. We confirm what applies before shipping
Customs duty 5% of the car’s value if its duty has not been paid in the Gulf before
Registration in Oman A technical inspection with the Royal Oman Police, then insurance and plates
Temporary visit Anyone entering in his Saudi car for a visit does not export it; insurance covering Oman is enough
Before loading A car empty of belongings, a quarter tank of fuel, and photos from every side

Check your car’s year of manufacture before anything else. A car over the limit is not registered, and bringing it back is a second fare on the same road. The general conditions are in the article car shipping from Saudi Arabia, and the service is on the car shipping page.

The Empty Quarter border post and Omani customs

Every shipment goes through two clearances: export at the Saudi post and import at Ramlat Khaliya. Both are quick when the papers are complete. But this post is unlike others: the nearest town is hundreds of kilometres away, and there is no office to issue a missing paper. So we prepare the file in Makkah before the truck moves, send a copy to our clearing agent at the post, and the declaration is filed electronically before arrival.

  • Customs duty: 5% of the value of the goods and their freight on most items of foreign origin.
  • Value added tax: 5% on new goods.
  • Gulf origin: no customs duty with a certificate of origin.
  • A mover’s used furniture and belongings: usually exempt with a list of contents.
  • Restricted items: food, medicines and cosmetics with permits from the Omani authorities.

The full procedures are on the customs clearance page.

Documents required for shipping to Oman

Documents differ by the type of shipment, not its size. A carton of gifts needs only a description and an address, household furniture needs a detailed list, and goods do not cross without an invoice. We ask for copies at booking and review them before loading day, not on the road.

Type of shipment Charges in Oman Documents
Used furniture and belongings Exempt for someone moving to live there ID or Iqama, proof of the consignee’s residence or work in Oman, and a detailed list of contents
Goods of Saudi or Gulf origin No customs duty, with 5% tax on new items Invoice, packing list and certificate of origin
Foreign goods 5% if not paid before, plus the tax Invoice, packing list, and proof that the duty was paid
Car 5% if not paid before Registration, export certificate and the owner’s ID
Personal parcels and suitcases Exempt within the limits of personal use Description and value of the contents, and the consignee’s address and number

Each document is explained on the shipping documents page.

What cannot be shipped to Oman or needs a permit

One prohibited item in one carton is enough to have the whole truck opened at the border post. So go through the list before packing, and ask us about any item you are unsure of:

Item Ruling
Zamzam water Its export is restricted, and it is not shipped with goods
Alcohol and narcotics Prohibited
Weapons, ammunition and fireworks Prohibited or by licence
E-cigarettes and electronic shisha Prohibited in Oman
Medicines Personal quantities with a prescription, and commercial ones by permit
Drones and radio equipment By prior permit
Flammable materials and gas cylinders Not loaded with furniture
Cash, gold and original documents Stay with you, and are not shipped
Counterfeit goods Confiscated

The general list is on the prohibited items page.

The main shipping destinations in Oman

Oman is large and its towns are far apart. Between Ibri, the first town after the border, and Salalah in the far south lie hundreds of kilometres. Knowing where your town sits on the road explains the time and the price, and decides which border post your shipment enters through:

City Governorate Its position on the road
Ibri Al Dhahirah The first town, 161 km after the border
Nizwa Al Dakhiliyah About 150 km after Ibri; most of its shipments are household furniture
Muscat, Seeb, Bawshar and Muttrah Muscat About 300 km after Ibri, and the most requested
Sohar North Al Batinah An industrial city and port, also served through the UAE
Buraimi Al Buraimi Adjoining Al Ain, and served through the UAE
Sur South Al Sharqiyah About 200 km south-east of Muscat
Duqm Al Wusta An economic zone and port on the Arabian Sea
Salalah Dhofar About 1,000 km south of Muscat

Muscat stretches between mountain and sea and its districts lie far apart, so an incomplete address slows the driver down. We need the name of the wilayat and the area, then the way number and the building number, an Omani mobile that will be answered, which floor the flat is on and whether a lift serves it. For more on the destination, see the shipping to Oman page.

Delivering shipments from Mecca in Salalah and Dhofar

Delivering shipments from Mecca in Salalah

Salalah is the farthest destination we serve in Oman, and it has its own road. The truck coming from the Empty Quarter does not pass through Muscat; it heads south from Ibri through Adam, Haima and Thumrait to Salalah. So we arrange Dhofar shipments on a trip of their own, or in a full truck, and do not add them to the Muscat distribution. The time is one to two days longer, and a bedroom to it starts from SAR 3,200.

  • What we deliver: household furniture in Salalah’s districts, shop goods, and cartons and suitcases to the consignee’s door.
  • Unloading and assembly: the team unloads and assembles bedrooms and wardrobes, and checks the pieces against the numbered list.
  • The wilayats of Dhofar: Taqah, Mirbat and Thumrait are delivered with the Salalah trip.
  • Khareef season: between June and September the road is busy and fog is frequent on the mountain descent, so we book the date earlier.
  • Duqm: on the coast between Muscat and Salalah, served by a dedicated truck for company equipment and staff furniture.

Shipping services for individuals, companies, government bodies and embassies

The road is the same, but what matters to each customer on it differs. A family asks about the safety of its furniture, a company about the date and the invoice, and an official body about documentation. We arrange the service around who is shipping:

Customer What matters to them What we provide
Individuals and families Safe furniture and a price without surprises An agent who collects from the home or hotel, dismantling, packing and assembly, and an itemised price
Companies and traders The date, the documents and uninterrupted supply Periodic trips at a contract price, tax invoices, and a follow-up report for every shipment
Government bodies and Hajj groups Prior coordination and a set delivery date A dedicated truck, a signed inventory, and delivery inside the premises
Embassies and missions Privacy and exemption documents Coordination of exemption papers, a delivery report, and one person in charge of the shipment

Is there sea freight from Mecca to Oman?

Makkah has no port, and the nearest one is Jeddah Islamic Port, about 80 km away. From it containers sail south to the Port of Salalah, or continue round the peninsula to the Port of Sohar. With carriage to the port, waiting for the vessel and clearance at both ends, the time comes to 10 to 16 days. So sea freight suits heavy commercial containers whose owner is in no hurry. For furniture, luggage and cars the truck is faster and simpler, and is loaded just once from door to door. The full comparison is on the shipping methods comparison page.

Air freight from Mecca to Oman

Air freight from Mecca to Oman

The land route to Oman is long, so air saves a whole week for anything light and urgent. We collect the shipment from your door or hotel in Makkah and carry it to King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah the same day. The flight to Muscat International Airport is about three hours, and delivery takes one to 3 days including clearance at both airports.

  • For whom: documents, urgent luggage, small electronics, commercial samples and spare parts.
  • Pricing: on the greater of actual and volumetric weight. Work it out with the volumetric weight calculator.
  • Price: air freight starts from SAR 14 per kilogram, and documents by express from SAR 83.
  • When land suits better: above 50 kilograms land is far cheaper, starting from SAR 5.5 per kilogram.
  • Salalah and Sohar: their shipments arrive by air in Muscat, then are delivered by land to the address.
  • What it does not suit: furniture, large appliances, liquids, perfumes in quantity and loose batteries.

Details are on the air freight page and in the article air freight office in Jeddah.

Collection from Makkah’s districts and nearby towns

Our packing and loading crew comes to your door wherever you live in Makkah, from Al-Aziziyah, Al-Awali and Al-Sharaie to Al-Shawqiyah, Al-Naseem, Al-Zahir, Batha Quraysh, Al-Rusayfah and Al-Kakiyah. Neighbouring towns are covered for collection too, and what we pick up there rides on the same trip:

Place Distance from Makkah Note
Hotels of the central area Inside Makkah Suitcases and cartons collected from reception
Al-Jumum and Bahrah 20–40 km Collected on the same day as Makkah
Jeddah About 80 km The two shipments join one trip
Taif About 90 km On the truck’s road east, so it is loaded on the way

You may leave Makkah before your home in the Sultanate is fully ready. In that case your shipment stays in our warehouse, still packed and with its inventory list, and moves only on the date you choose. The terms are on the storage page.

Steps for shipping from Mecca to Oman

  1. Contact: you send what you are shipping with photos, your district or hotel in Makkah, and your town in Oman.
  2. Choosing the route: the Empty Quarter directly, or through the UAE if your destination is in the north.
  3. Itemised price: it reaches you item by item: dismantling, packing, transport, clearance and assembly.
  4. Booking: we fix the loading day and its permitted hour, and ask for copies of the documents.
  5. Packing and loading: at your location, with a numbered list of contents and photos, then the truck is sealed.
  6. Export clearance: at the Saudi border post, with its file ready before arrival.
  7. Omani clearance: at Ramlat Khaliya, or at the post of entry from the UAE.
  8. Delivery: to the address, with unloading and assembly if you request it.

Tracking and insurance

There are stretches of the Empty Quarter with no mobile coverage, so it matters to know when the next update will reach you. From the moment of loading you have one person in charge whose name and number you know. He tells you when the truck leaves Makkah, when it passes Riyadh, when it enters the desert road, when Omani clearance is finished, and the time of arrival at your door.

  • Tracking: by the waybill number, with an update at every stage. Details are on the track your shipment page.
  • Documentation: photos of every piece before packing and after loading.
  • Insurance: yours to take or leave, priced as a share of the value you declare for the shipment. Our advice is to take it, since the road from Makkah to Muscat runs beyond two thousand kilometres. It is explained on the cargo insurance page.
  • On receipt: check the pieces against the list, and note any remark on the delivery report before signing.

Shipping from Oman to Mecca

The route works in both directions. We collect from your address in Muscat, Nizwa, Sohar or Salalah through our team there, clear at both border posts, and deliver to any district of Makkah in the hours permitted for trucks. A Saudi returning from work in the Sultanate brings in his used furniture exempt with a list of contents. Goods of Omani origin enter the Kingdom without duty with the certificate of origin. And an Omani pilgrim’s luggage sent ahead of him to Makkah is delivered to his accommodation before he arrives.

Home Safe’s tips before shipping from Mecca to Oman

  • Define your shipment precisely: furniture, goods, appliances, parcels or a car, as each type has its method and documents.
  • Pack for sand and heat: reinforced cardboard, tight wrap, and extra foam around appliances.
  • Prepare the papers before loading day; the border post is remote and a paper cannot be made up there.
  • Choose land for the heavy and bulky, and air for the light and urgent.
  • Book two weeks before Ramadan and Hajj, and tell us if your street is narrow or steep.
  • Follow your shipment by the waybill number, and keep the photos of the pieces and the inventory until you take delivery.

How do you choose a shipping company from Mecca to Oman?

The difference between one offer and another on this route shows in the questions you are asked before the price. Whoever knows the road asks about your town in Oman first, then about the size of your shipment and your date. These are signs to tell them apart:

What you ask about Reassuring sign Warning sign
Route Asks about your town, then names the border post One route for every town in Oman
Time 5 days or more, and a distinction between Muscat and Salalah A promise of three days for a household’s furniture from Makkah
Price Itemised after learning the volume and the town A single figure with no breakdown
Truck Closed, with tightly sealed doors Open with a tarpaulin across the desert
Makkah’s seasons Allows for Hajj, Ramadan and entry hours Promises loading on any day at any hour
Registration Commercial registration, a collection receipt and a waybill A mobile number only

Common mistakes when shipping from Mecca to Oman

  • Shipping a car that has reached 7 years, so it is not registered and returns at its owner’s expense.
  • Putting Zamzam water in the cartons, so the whole shipment is opened.
  • Light packing that does not stop the sand of the road from reaching the inside of appliances.
  • Shipping Saudi goods without a certificate of origin, so a duty that could have been avoided is charged.
  • Treating Salalah as if it were Muscat in date and price.
  • Booking in the week of Hajj or the end of Ramadan.
  • An address without a wilayat or without an Omani mobile number.

Which is cheaper to Oman: land or air?

Land is cheaper for anything above a few kilograms, starting from SAR 5.5 per kilogram above 50 kg. Air starts from SAR 14 per kilogram and suits documents and urgent luggage.

As a rule, no. Anyone moving to live in the Sultanate brings in used furniture and belongings exempt, on two conditions: a detailed list of contents, and a document showing that the consignee lives or works in Oman.

Yes, on a carrier from SAR 3,500 to Muscat. The car leaves with an export certificate from the traffic department and arrives with its odometer as it left.

What is the age condition for a car in Oman?

What applies in practice: a used private car that has reached 7 years of age is not registered, and for trucks and buses the limit is 10 years. Before your car moves, we confirm the rule in force for it.

Can Zamzam water be shipped to Oman?

No. Zamzam water is restricted for export, so it travels neither with goods nor in parcels. The traveller’s option is the pack made for travel.

What documents are required?

The file depends on what you ship. Furniture needs a list of contents with an ID or Iqama and a document showing the consignee lives in Oman. Commercial goods leave with their invoice, packing list and certificate of origin. A car takes three: its registration, its export certificate and its owner’s ID.

Is shipping affected by Hajj season and Ramadan?

Yes. In both seasons trucks are restricted from moving inside Makkah, so we ask you to book two weeks before them; we then load during the permitted hours, or keep the shipment in storage until the season has passed.

Do you ship from Oman to Mecca?

Yes. The line runs both ways: we collect from the address in Oman and deliver in any Makkah district during the hours when trucks are permitted.
