Who ships from Madinah to Qatar, and what do they ship?

Three people ask about this route most: a Qatari visitor to the Prophet’s Mosque whose luggage has outgrown the airline allowance, a Madinah resident whose job there has ended and who has moved to Doha, and a Qatari trader buying dates from its market before Ramadan. After them come the owner of a car bought from a Madinah showroom who wants it in Qatar, and a company sending equipment or wholesale goods. Each of them has a method that suits what they ship, so the owner of two suitcases does not pay for a truck, and the owner of a full home does not wait for someone else’s load to fill:

Shipper What they ship Most suitable method
A visitor to the Prophet’s Mosque Suitcases, dates and gifts By the suitcase or carton by land, and air for urgent items
A family moving to Qatar A full home’s furniture and appliances Full truck with dismantling and assembly
An employee or student whose term has ended A bedroom, cartons and books Shared load
A dates or goods trader Ajwa and other varieties, prayer beads, rugs and perfumes By the pallet or the truck, with an invoice and certificate of origin
A car buyer or owner A new car from the showroom or a used one Shared or enclosed carrier
A company or contractor Equipment, appliances and wholesale goods Dedicated or flatbed truck

Route and transit time from Madinah to Qatar

The road crosses the Kingdom from its west to the Gulf coast. The truck leaves Madinah eastwards on the Qassim road, passes Al-Hanakiyah and then Buraydah, and reaches Riyadh after about 850 km. From Riyadh it heads east to Al-Ahsa, then drops down to Salwa on the Gulf of Salwa after about 480 km. After the Qatari Abu Samra post about 100 km remain to Doha. The total is about 1,430 km, and the driving alone takes about 15 hours, split over two days.

Qatar has one land crossing. So companies do not differ in the road; they differ in what they do before the border: did the file arrive complete ahead of the truck, or with it? That is what makes the crossing a matter of hours or a full day.

Stage Approximate distance Usual time
Dismantling, packing and loading in Madinah — Half a day to a day
Madinah → Riyadh About 850 km via Qassim A day
Riyadh → Salwa border post About 480 km via Al-Ahsa 5–7 hours
Salwa and Abu Samra border posts — Hours to a day
Abu Samra → Doha About 100 km One to two hours
Unloading and assembly — Half a day to a day
Method Door-to-door time Suits
Full truck 4–5 days A full home’s furniture and goods by the truck
Shared load 6–8 days One or two rooms, cartons and a few pallets
Car carrier 4–6 days Cars
Suitcases and parcels by land 6–8 days Visitors’ luggage, gifts and dates
Air from Madinah airport One to two days Documents and urgent luggage

What lengthens the time?

  • Visiting seasons: trucks moving through the centre of Madinah are regulated during Ramadan and the Hajj days, and a loading that was not booked early gets pushed back.
  • Waiting for consolidation: a shared load from Madinah waits for the truck to fill, or joins a trip coming from Jeddah.
  • Congestion at Salwa: before Eid and holidays the truck queues grow, and there is no alternative crossing.
  • A vague list of contents: the phrase “personal items” with no detail brings a manual inspection.
  • The building’s permit in Qatar: Lusail and Pearl towers will not admit a truck without an entry permit, and the service lift has to be reserved.

The table of times for every destination is on the transit times page.

Shipping prices from Madinah to Qatar

The price does not follow distance alone, or the owner of a carton would pay what the owner of a home pays. A parcel is charged by its weight, furniture and goods by the truck space they take, and a car by its type and its carrier. These are the prices our services start from, from your door in Madinah to the consignee’s door in Qatar:

What you ship Method Price starts from
Small parcel Shared load SAR 90
Carton Shared load SAR 140
Suitcase up to 25 kg Shared load SAR 230
Belongings or goods by the cubic metre Shared load SAR 550 per metre
Small furniture shipment Shared load SAR 920
Complete bedroom Small truck SAR 2,000
A full flat’s furniture Private truck SAR 4,100
Small car Shared carrier SAR 2,020
4×4 Shared carrier SAR 2,570
Luxury or new car Enclosed carrier SAR 3,860
Air freight From Madinah airport SAR 14 per kilogram
Documents Express SAR 83
Heavy equipment or a full truck of goods Flatbed or dedicated truck Set on request

Prices circulating in the market for this route: light parcels of 1 to 5 kg between SAR 30 and 100 per kilogram with express courier companies, whose smallest express shipment to Qatar starts from about SAR 113 to 121. A small electrical appliance by land between SAR 240 and 440, and by air between SAR 540 and 840. A room’s furniture between SAR 600 and 1,170 per cubic metre. Commercial goods of 100 to 500 kg between SAR 10 and 20 per kilogram. Cars and equipment at special prices starting from about SAR 900 and rising with size and preparation. So make the table your point of comparison for any figure you receive, and ask what it covers: does it include packing, clearance and unloading, or transport alone?

What sets the price Its effect
Volume Governs furniture and goods. Work it out with the volume calculator
Weight Governs parcels and air freight
Full truck or shared A full truck is faster and dearer; in a shared one you pay only for your space
Type of shipment Glass and appliances need more packing than clothes and books
Dismantling, packing and assembly Lines stated in the price before loading, not added after it
Collection point in Madinah Hotels in the central area need a small vehicle to shuttle to the truck
Season Ramadan, Hajj and summer see higher demand

How do you lower the cost?

  • Choose a shared load if your date is not pressing.
  • Gather your suitcases and cartons into one shipment, and pay by the cubic metre if they exceed four cartons.
  • Do not ship what costs less in Doha than the fare for moving it 1,430 km.
  • Book outside Ramadan and the days of Hajj, or two weeks before them.
  • Send clear photos of everything you ship; an accurate estimate prevents a price difference on loading day.

What goes into the price is detailed on the pricing factors page.

What sets shipping from Madinah apart?

Three things make shipping from Madinah different from shipping from Jeddah or Makkah. First, it has an international airport, so an air shipment usually needs no road leg before flying. Second, it sits directly on the Qassim road, so the truck heads east from the first kilometre and climbs no mountains. Third, its centre around the Prophet’s Mosque is crowded with hotels and pedestrians, and large trucks enter it at hours set by the traffic department, tighter in the seasons. We confirm the hours in force before loading day.

Those who come to Madinah on the Haramain high-speed train sometimes ask: can I send my luggage by train? The answer is no; it is a passenger train that carries no freight. The easier course is to hand us the excess in Madinah itself, so its owner travels light and the luggage follows to the home in Qatar.

Particular Its effect How we handle it
An international airport inside the city Air freight leaves from Madinah itself The shipment goes to Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport, or is rerouted through Jeddah when no flight fits it
The direct Qassim road No mountain passes and no detour through the western cities We load from Madinah and from places on the road such as Al-Hanakiyah on the same trip
Regulated truck entry to the centre Loading at set hours We fix the appointment in advance and load in the permitted time
Hotels in the central area No truck parking and no room for long packing A small vehicle collects the suitcases ready from the hotel forecourt or reception
Dates Food goods affected by heat Ventilated cartons, and loading late at night or early in the morning in summer
Distance from the sea The nearest port is Yanbu, about 220 km away Land is the mainstay to Qatar, and the sea is not needed

Furniture and household shipping from Madinah to Qatar

A home’s furniture stays on the road for at least four days, passes two border posts, and part of it may be opened for inspection and closed again. Packing meant for a move within the city is not enough for it. We pack every piece on the assumption that it will be loaded and unloaded more than once, and that the heat of Najd and Al-Ahsa will pass over it for two days.

We always begin with a question about the new home in Qatar before asking about the old one: a flat in a tower or a villa? Does the building have a service lift? A wardrobe that enters a villa in Al Rayyan in one piece may enter a tower lift in Lusail only dismantled. Knowing that in Madinah is cheaper than discovering it at the door.

  • Survey: by photos or at home, to estimate the volume and see where the truck can stand.
  • Dismantling: we take bedrooms, wardrobes and kitchens apart, number each panel, and tape the bag of screws to the piece it belongs to.
  • Packing: wood gets blankets under corrugated cardboard, glass and marble get foam inside wooden crates, and sofas and mattresses are stretch-wrapped.
  • Air conditioners: the gas is pumped down into the outdoor unit, and the two units are packed separately.
  • Inventory: a numbered list of every carton and piece, which is what is presented to Qatari customs.
  • Assembly: our crew in Qatar takes every piece into its room, assembles it and removes the packing waste.

The service is detailed on the furniture shipping page, and packing methods in the packing guide.

Land freight from Madinah to Qatar: full truck or shared load?

On this route land freight is the mainstay: it takes anything from a suitcase to a heavy machine and delivers door to door, with no port or airport between the two addresses. Your first choice within it moves price and time together. Book a full truck and it sets off the day you load, halting only for rest and at the border. Choose a shared load and it waits to fill up first, after which every shipment is dropped at its own owner’s address.

Comparison Shared load Full truck
You pay for Your shipment’s space only The whole truck
Time 6–8 days 4–5 days
Departure When the truck fills Loading day
Handling May be moved between two trucks Loaded once and unloaded once
Best for Up to about three rooms A full home or a large quantity of goods

The comparison comes down to this: with fewer than three rooms of furniture a shared load will do, and beyond that the per-metre price in a full truck works out lower. For more, see the land freight page.

Shipping visitors’ luggage and parcels from Madinah to Qatar

Shipping visitors’ luggage from Madinah to Qatar

A Qatari visitor buys more in Madinah than a suitcase can carry: dates for the family, rugs and prayer beads, and gifts for those who asked. And the airline charges for every excess kilogram. The answer is for the luggage to travel by land and its owner to travel light. We collect the suitcases and cartons from the hotel forecourt or reception with a small vehicle, give their owner a receipt with the count, and deliver them to the address in Doha.

Visiting groups benefit from this even more than an individual. We number every suitcase with its owner’s name and mobile number, and gather the whole group’s luggage into one shipment charged by the cubic metre, then distribute it in Qatar to the owners’ addresses. A parcel sent by a Madinah resident to family travels the same way.

Shipment How it is charged Price starts from Note
Small parcel By the piece SAR 90 Gifts, prayer beads, copies of the Quran and clothing
Carton By the carton SAR 140 Double-walled, and no more than 30 kg
Suitcase By the suitcase up to 25 kg SAR 230 Wrapped and numbered
A group’s or family’s luggage By the cubic metre SAR 550 per metre The cheapest for anyone with more than four cartons

Write the consignee’s name, Qatari number and address on every piece. No Zamzam water, cash, gold or medicine without a prescription goes into the luggage. Details are on the parcel shipping page.

Shipping wholesale goods and dates from Madinah to Qatar, with packing

Among the Kingdom’s regions, Madinah ranks third in date production, and visitors and traders alike buy Ajwa, Safawi, Sukkari and Medjool at its central date market. Ahead of Ramadan and the Eids Qatar’s demand for those varieties climbs, which is why traders reserve their trips weeks before the season. Because Saudi Arabia and Qatar share one customs union, Saudi-origin dates and goods cross duty-free when a valid certificate of origin accompanies them.

Besides dates, the goods of Madinah’s markets leave it wholesale: prayer beads, rugs, perfumes, incense and Ihram clothing, along with the products of its industrial areas such as building materials, plastics and foodstuffs. Packing commercial goods is not the same as packing furniture. The aim is for the pallet to arrive as it left, and for the importer to count it and check it against the invoice in minutes.

  • Units: by the cubic metre or the pallet in a shared load, and by the truck for quantities.
  • Packing the pallets: equal cartons stacked interlocked, then stretch-wrapped and strapped, with a label on every pallet giving the contents and the count.
  • Securing: heavy items at the bottom, fragile ones on top, and straps and dividers that prevent sliding. Details are on the packing and lashing page.
  • Dates: ventilated cartons kept away from heavy loads, and an Arabic data label with production and expiry dates on commercial packs.
  • Certificate of origin: for Saudi and Gulf goods, and it is what exempts them from duty.
  • Foreign goods: the unified Gulf duty of 5% applies unless it was settled when they first entered the Gulf, in which case the clearing document is the proof.
  • Perfumes and incense: declared by type and quantity, and they travel by land, as they are restricted in air freight.

Details are on the commercial shipping page.

Shipping equipment from Madinah to Qatar

Equipment is not priced like furniture. What governs it is its dimensions, weight and the way it is lifted, not the number of pieces. So before any figure we ask for three things: a photo of the machine, its data plate stating the weight, and its three dimensions. From these we know whether it fits a closed truck or needs a flatbed.

  • Light equipment: small generators and workshop, kitchen and restaurant equipment, fixed on pallets and loaded into a closed truck.
  • Heavy equipment: small excavators, forklifts and production lines, craned onto a flatbed truck and chained down.
  • Sensitive parts: control panels and screens are removed where possible and packed separately in wooden crates.
  • Fluids: fuel and oil are drained to the permitted level before loading.
  • Documents: an invoice stating the serial number and country of origin, and a packing list.
  • Price: set on request once the weight and dimensions are known.

Details are on the heavy equipment shipping page.

Shipping electrical appliances from Madinah to Qatar

Appliances are damaged by vibration before impact. Two days on the road are enough to loosen a screw or break a hinge if the appliance is not secured from the inside. So we photograph every appliance working before packing it, write its serial number in the list of contents, and then treat it according to its type:

  • Screens: kept in the original carton or in a padded wooden crate, and they ride standing up over the heavy pieces, never beneath them.
  • Fridges and washing machines: emptied and dried a day before, with the washer drum and fridge shelves secured.
  • Ovens and air conditioners: foam on the corners and reinforced cardboard, with nothing placed on top.
  • Phones and computers: in their boxes inside a second padded carton; air freight suits them best.
  • Electricity in Qatar: 240 volts with three-pin plugs like those used in the Kingdom, so your appliances work there without a transformer.
  • New boxed items: declared with their invoice and not mixed with used ones, and loose batteries are not shipped by air.

Shipping new and used cars from Madinah to Qatar

Car shipping from Madinah to Qatar

Driving a car 1,430 km adds to its odometer and wears its tyres, and commits its owner to two days on the road and to the border formalities in person. A carrier delivers it as it left. We collect the car from the showroom or the home on a flatbed, photograph it from every side, and sign a condition report with the driver; then it is loaded on a shared or enclosed carrier and its wheels are strapped down.

A new car and a used one differ in paperwork more than in transport. A new one leaves the showroom with its invoice and customs card, not yet registered. A used one needs an export certificate from the traffic department after fines are settled and the plates surrendered. In both cases the clearing document proves that its customs duty was already paid in the Gulf, so it is not paid a second time in Qatar.

Car and carrier How it is shipped Price starts from
Small car on a shared carrier Carries several cars and moves when full SAR 2,020
4×4 on a shared carrier More room and more weight SAR 2,570
New or luxury car in an enclosed carrier A closed box that protects the paint from dust and gravel SAR 3,860
Used car Usually a shared carrier, with a photographed condition report SAR 2,020
Financed car Like any other, with a no-objection letter from the finance company SAR 2,020
  • Age condition: as applied in Qatar, a light vehicle more than 5 years past its year of manufacture is not accepted, nor a heavy one more than 10 years past it. We check the condition in force for your car before it is shipped.
  • Customs duty: 5% of the value assessed by customs if its duty has not already been paid in the Gulf.
  • Registration in Qatar: customs release is not licensing. After it come a technical inspection, Qatari insurance and then the plates.
  • Before loading: a car empty of belongings, a quarter tank of fuel, and both keys if there are two.

Details are on the car shipping page.

The Salwa border post and Qatari customs

Every shipment passes two clearances: export at Salwa and import at Abu Samra. The border is about 1,330 km from Madinah, so a missing paper is not easily made good. That is why we prepare the file in Madinah before the truck moves, the declaration is filed electronically before it arrives, and our clearing agent starts work while it is still on the road.

The rule in practice in Qatar is that the used furniture and belongings of someone moving to live there enter exempt if they arrive within months of that person’s entry and are for use, not for sale. The details change, so we check what is in force with the clearing agent before shipping. Everything else is subject to the unified Gulf duty:

Type of shipment Duties in Qatar Documents
Used furniture and belongings Usually exempt for someone moving to live there ID or Iqama, the consignee’s residence permit or Qatari ID, and a detailed list of contents
Dates and goods of Saudi or Gulf origin Exempt Invoice, packing list and certificate of origin
Foreign goods 5% if not paid before Invoice, packing list, and the clearing document if the duty was paid
Car 5% if not paid before Registration or customs card, export certificate, owner’s ID and the clearing document
Personal suitcases and parcels Exempt within the limits of personal use Description and value of the contents, and the consignee’s address and number
Equipment According to origin and tariff code Invoice with the serial number, packing list and certificate of origin

Documents are explained on the required documents page, and procedures on the customs clearance page.

What cannot be shipped to Qatar or needs a permit

One prohibited item in one carton is enough to hold the whole truck at the border, with other people’s shipments on it. That is why we go through the list of contents with you before packing and set aside what will not cross:

Item Ruling
Zamzam water Its export is restricted, and it is not shipped with goods
Alcohol, drugs and pork products Prohibited
Weapons, ammunition and fireworks Prohibited or by licence
E-cigarettes and their liquids Prohibited in Qatar
Tobacco Its duty is high, and it is not shipped with furniture
Medicines Personal quantities with a prescription
Drones and radio equipment By prior permit
Palm offshoots, seeds and plants With a phytosanitary certificate
Cash, gold and original documents Not shipped with furniture; keep them with you
Counterfeit goods Confiscated

The general list is on the prohibited items page.

Cities in Qatar where we deliver: Doha, Lusail and Al Rayyan

Delivering shipments from Madinah in Lusail

After Abu Samra everything is close. Qatar is small in area, and its farthest city is about two and a half hours from the border. So delivery takes place on the day of crossing or the day after. What sets the hour is not the distance but the building: towers in Lusail, The Pearl and West Bay require the service lift to be booked by appointment, and an entry permit for the truck from the building management. We ask you for that two days before the truck arrives, and then our crew unloads the furniture and assembles it in the booked slot.

Municipality Main areas Distance from Abu Samra
Doha West Bay, The Pearl, Al Sadd, Al Mansoura About 100 km
Al Daayen Lusail, Al Kheesa About 120 km
Al Rayyan Al Gharrafa, Muaither, Ain Khaled, the Industrial Area About 90 km
Al Wakrah Al Wakrah, Al Wukair, Mesaieed About 100 km
Umm Salal and Al Sheehaniya Al Kharaitiyat, Al Sheehaniya, Dukhan 80–120 km
Al Khor and Al Shamal Al Khor, Ras Laffan, Al Ruwais 150–200 km

Give us your Qatari address exactly as the blue plate fixed by the building’s door shows it: the zone number, then the street number, then the building number, and add a Qatari mobile number for the consignee. For more on the destination, see the shipping to Qatar page.

Shipping services for individuals and companies

The service is the same at its core and differs in what surrounds it. An individual cares that the home arrives as it left and wants to know what will be paid. A company cares about the date, the invoice and that its work does not stop. That is why we ask every customer what matters to them before suggesting a method:

Customer What matters to them What we provide
Individuals and families Safe furniture and a price with no surprises A photo survey, dismantling, packing and assembly, and an itemised price
Visitors and visiting groups Collection from the hotel and delivery at home Every suitcase numbered with its owner’s name, and a collection receipt
Dates and wholesale traders A date before the season, and the documents A dedicated truck, a certificate of origin and regular trips
Companies and contractors Equipment, invoices and storage Flatbed trucks, tax invoices and temporary storage
Car showrooms The car arriving without a scratch An enclosed carrier, a photographed condition report and insurance at value

Express shipping from Madinah to Qatar

Speed comes in three grades on this route, and each grade has its price. So ask yourself first: when does the shipment really have to arrive? Many who ask for “the fastest thing” would be served by five days, and so pay for the aircraft needlessly.

  • Urgent documents: by express from SAR 83, arriving in one to two days.
  • Urgent parcels and luggage: by air from Madinah airport from SAR 14 per kilogram, in one to two days.
  • Urgent furniture or goods: a full truck that moves on loading day and arrives in 4–5 days.
  • What speeds up any method: a complete file before loading, a Qatari address with its numbers, and a consignee who answers the phone.

Air freight from Madinah to Qatar

Air freight from Madinah to Qatar

Madinah has an advantage Makkah lacks: Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport is inside it, with direct flights to Doha taking about two and a quarter hours. We collect the shipment from your door or hotel and hand it over at the airport, and it reaches Hamad International Airport and then the consignee within one to two days including clearance. If no flight suits the shipment’s size or type, we divert it to King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah.

  • For whom: anyone with documents or urgent luggage, anyone sending small electronics or commercial samples, and anyone who wants cartons of dates to arrive before an occasion.
  • Charging: on the greater of actual and volumetric weight. Work it out with the volumetric weight calculator.
  • Price: air freight starts from SAR 14 per kilogram, and documents by express from SAR 83.
  • When land suits better: above 50 kilograms land becomes far cheaper.
  • What it does not suit: furniture, large appliances, liquids, perfumes in quantity and loose batteries.

Details are on the air freight page and in the article air freight office in Jeddah.

Is there sea freight from Madinah to Qatar?

The nearest port to Madinah is Yanbu, about 220 km away, and after it Jeddah port at about 420 km. A ship from the Red Sea to Hamad Port sails round the whole Arabian Peninsula, so a container takes two to three weeks while a truck arrives in days. So sea freight suits this route only for heavy commercial loads whose owner is in no hurry. The full comparison is on the shipping methods comparison page.

Collection from Madinah’s districts and governorates

Wherever you live in Madinah, the packing and loading crew comes to you: we serve Shuran, Al-Khalidiyah, Al-Awali, Quba and Al-Aqool just as we serve Al-Salam, King Fahd, Al-Difa and Al-Aziziyah. The region’s governorates are covered too, and whatever we collect there travels on the same Qatar trip:

Place Distance from Madinah Note
Hotels in the central area Inside the city Suitcases and cartons collected from the hotel forecourt or reception
Car showrooms Inside the city A flatbed takes the car from the showroom to the carrier
Al-Hanakiyah About 110 km On the Qassim road itself, so it is loaded on the way
Badr About 150 km Collected the day before departure
Khaybar About 170 km Collected the day before departure
Yanbu About 220 km Combined with Madinah shipments in one trip

Loading day may come before your home in Qatar is ready, or your trip may land in the visiting season. In that case the shipment stays in our warehouse, still packed and inventoried, until you pick the delivery day. The service is described on the storage page.

  5. The road: the truck moves east through Qassim, Riyadh and Al-Ahsa, and we tell you where it is.

Safe shipping from Madinah to Qatar: tracking and insurance

A shipment’s safety is made before the truck moves, not after. We check and photograph every piece, mark what is fragile, then stow the load so that no gap is left for it to shift in. On the road you have one person in charge whose name and number you know. They tell you when the truck leaves Madinah, when it passes Riyadh, when it reaches Salwa, when Qatari clearance is finished, and the time of arrival at your door.

  • Tracking: by shipment number, with an update at every stage. Details are on the track your shipment page.
  • Documentation: photos of every piece before packing and after loading.
  • Securing: straps and dividers inside the truck, heavy items at the bottom and fragile ones on top.
  • Insurance: it is your choice, and its cost is a percentage of the value you declare. See the cargo insurance page for details.
  • On receipt: check the shipment and note any remark on the delivery report before signing.

The same service runs the other way, from Qatar to Madinah. Our crew in Qatar picks the shipment up at its address, it is cleared at Abu Samra and Salwa, and it is delivered in whichever Madinah district you name, within the hours when trucks are allowed in. If you are a Saudi who has finished working in Qatar, your used furniture comes in exempt, and a list of its contents is all it needs. Goods whose origin is Qatari enter the Kingdom duty-free when the certificate of origin travels with them. And whoever bought furniture in Doha to fit out a residence or hotel in Madinah receives it in the same manner.

Tips before shipping from Madinah to Qatar

  • Settle the priority before anything else: speed or price? The method is chosen on that.
  • Book two weeks before Ramadan and the days of Hajj, or choose a date outside them.
  • Prepare an accurate list of contents; it is what shortens clearance time.
  • Set aside what you will carry yourself: passports, contracts, gold and medicines.
  • Ask the building management in Qatar about booking the service lift and the truck’s entry permit.
  • Write your name and number on every suitcase and carton.
  • Keep a copy of every document and collection receipt on your phone.

How do you choose a shipping company from Madinah to Qatar?

What a company asks you reveals its experience more than what it promises you. One that asks about the volume, the type of home in Qatar and your date knows the route. One that gives you a figure before hearing anything does not.

What you ask about Reassuring sign Warning sign
Time 4 to 8 days depending on the method “Within 24 hours” for a home’s furniture from Madinah
Price Itemised lines after knowing the weight and volume An instant figure with no questions
Madinah’s seasons Asks for your date and allows for Ramadan and Hajj Promises loading on any day and from anywhere
Customs Asks: used or new? And what is the origin of the goods? “No customs” on everything
Delivery A crew in Qatar that unloads and assembles Its role ends at the border
Registration Commercial registration and a collection receipt A mobile number only

Common mistakes when shipping from Madinah to Qatar

  • Booking in the last ten days of Ramadan or in the days of Hajj.
  • Putting Zamzam water in the suitcases, so the whole shipment is opened.
  • Shipping commercial dates without a data label or certificate of origin.
  • Loading furniture without an inventory, so it is delayed at the border.
  • Shipping a car older than allowed, so it is turned back at Abu Samra.
  • An address without the zone, street and building numbers, or without a Qatari mobile number.
  • Choosing the cheapest figure without asking what it covers.

Frequently asked questions about shipping from Madinah to Qatar

How much does shipping from Madinah to Qatar cost?

It depends on what you ship, and it starts from SAR 90 for a small parcel, from SAR 140 for a carton, from SAR 230 for a suitcase, from SAR 550 for a cubic metre, from SAR 2,000 for a bedroom, from SAR 4,100 for a flat’s furniture, and from SAR 2,020 for a car on a shared carrier. The final figure is set once we know the shipment’s volume and the delivery address in Qatar. For enquiries call 0552803439.

How long does shipping from Madinah to Qatar take?

A full truck arrives in 4 to 5 days, a shared load in 6 to 8 days, and air freight in one to two days. We count these times from collecting the shipment at your door in Madinah until it is handed to the consignee at the address in Qatar.

How far is Madinah from Doha?

About 1,430 km by road: about 850 km from Madinah to Riyadh through Qassim, then about 480 km to the Salwa border post through Al-Ahsa, then about 100 km from Abu Samra to Doha.

Which border post does the shipment enter Qatar through?

From the Saudi Salwa post to the Qatari Abu Samra post. It is the only land crossing into Qatar, so every truck passes through it.

Is there air freight from Madinah to Qatar?

Yes. The shipment leaves Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah for Hamad International Airport in Doha and is delivered in one to two days. If no flight suits its size, we send it via Jeddah airport.

What is the cheapest way to ship from Madinah to Qatar?

A shared load by land. You pay only for the space your shipment takes, and it arrives in 6 to 8 days. Air costs more and suits what is light and urgent.

Do you collect visitors’ luggage from hotels?

Yes. Our vehicle calls at the hotel in the central area or at the residence, takes the cartons and suitcases from reception and gives their owner a collection receipt; the luggage then reaches the visitor at the address in Qatar.

Do you ship Madinah dates to Qatar?

Yes, every variety, Ajwa and Safawi first among them. An individual sends them by the carton, a trader by the pallet or by a whole truck. Commercial packs travel with an invoice and a certificate of origin and bear a data label.

Can Zamzam water be shipped?

No. Zamzam water falls under an export restriction, so we put it neither in parcels nor in with goods. What is allowed is the dedicated travel pack, which the traveller carries personally.

Is customs paid on used furniture in Qatar?

In most cases, no. Someone moving to live in Qatar brings in used furniture and belongings duty-free, provided a detailed contents list is presented with a copy of the residence permit or Qatari ID. New pieces still in their boxes, however, are declared and their duty is paid.

Do you ship new and used cars from Madinah to Qatar?

Yes, both kinds, collected from the home or from the showroom. Transport prices start from SAR 2,020 for a small car on a shared carrier, from SAR 2,570 for a 4×4, and from SAR 3,860 in an enclosed carrier.

What is the age condition for a car entering Qatar?

The limit applied is 5 years from the year of manufacture for a light vehicle and 10 years for a heavy one; anything older is not admitted. That is why we verify the condition in force for your car before it leaves Madinah.

What documents are required?

They vary with the shipment. Furniture needs a contents list plus the sender’s ID or Iqama and the consignee’s residence permit or Qatari ID. Goods need an invoice, a certificate of origin and a packing list. A car needs its registration, the clearing document and the export certificate.

Is shipping affected by the visiting seasons in Madinah?

Yes. Madinah grows very crowded in Ramadan and during the Hajj days, and trucks entering its centre come under traffic regulation. We therefore keep loading to the permitted hours and ask you to book two weeks before the season begins.

Do you ship from Qatar to Madinah?

Yes, we ship the other way as well. Our crew picks the shipment up at its address in Qatar, it is cleared at Abu Samra and Salwa, and it then reaches your district in Madinah.
