Who ships from Al-Ahsa to Jordan, and what do they ship?
Al-Ahsa is home to Jordanian families working in schools, universities, hospitals and contracting, some of whom have lived in Hofuf or Mubarraz for many years. When the contract ends the family goes back with its whole home: bedrooms, sitting room, kitchen, appliances and the children’s books. Alongside them there is the resident who sends cartons to his family in Irbid before Eid, the visitor who came back to Al-Ahsa with dates he wants to give away, and the date trader or the factory in the industrial city with a customer in Amman. The table brings together the people who ship and what suits each of them:
| Shipper | Usual shipment | What we advise |
|---|---|---|
| A Jordanian teacher or employee whose contract has ended | The family home’s furniture and appliances | A dedicated truck with one list and one exemption file |
| A single employee or someone moving alone | A bedroom, cartons and suitcases | A shared truck in which he pays for his own space |
| A resident sending to his family | Clothes, gifts, small devices and dates | By the carton or by the kilogram, by land |
| A date trader or farm owner | Cartons of Khalas and other varieties on pallets | Pallets in a shared truck or a full Dyna |
| A factory or supplier | Food, plastics and building materials | A full trailer with a certificate of origin |
| A car owner | A recent car to be registered in Jordan | A car carrier after the year of manufacture is checked |
Why do you need a shipping company on the Al-Ahsa – Jordan line?
Al-Ahsa lies in the south of the Eastern Province and Jordan at the far north-west, so the shipment crosses almost the whole Kingdom before it reaches the border. A road of this length has two border posts, two clearances and an inspection, and it is no job for a driver hired off the street with no paperwork. Here the company does not just sell you space in a truck; it takes on what you cannot do alone from Al-Ahsa:
- Time: your shipment moves on a scheduled trip, so you are not waiting for an empty returning truck that may or may not turn up.
- Effort: dismantling, packing, loading, clearance and unloading all fall to one team, and you follow from your phone.
- Papers: we check the exemption documents and the list of contents in Al-Ahsa, before the truck is 1,600 km away from your home.
- Cost: someone shipping a little pays for his share of a shared truck, not for a whole one.
- Accountability: a collection receipt with the number of pieces, a handover record in Jordan, and a registered business to go back to if anything happens.
Route and transit time from Al-Ahsa to Jordan

The truck leaves Hofuf northwards for Abqaiq and then Nuayriyah, and turns west to Hafar al-Batin. From there it follows the international northern road along the border: Rafha, Arar and Turaif, as far as Qurayyat in Al-Jawf region. The Haditha border post is 36 km beyond Qurayyat, facing the Jordanian Omari border post, and from there it is about 155 km to Amman through Azraq and Zarqa. Some trips go through Riyadh, Qassim and Hail when an Al-Ahsa shipment is consolidated with shipments from the central region, and the two distances are close.
| Stage | Approximate distance | Usual time |
|---|---|---|
| Dismantling, packing and loading in Al-Ahsa | — | A day |
| Hofuf → Nuayriyah | About 300 km via Abqaiq | 3–4 hours |
| Nuayriyah → Hafar al-Batin | About 270 km | 3 hours |
| Hafar al-Batin → Arar | About 560 km via Rafha | 6–7 hours |
| Arar → Haditha border post | About 430 km via Turaif and Qurayyat | 5 hours |
| Clearance at Haditha and Omari | — | Hours to a day |
| Omari → Amman | About 155 km | Two to 3 hours |
| Unloading and assembly | — | Half a day to a day |
| Method | Door-to-door time | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Dedicated truck | 4–5 days | A whole home or goods with a supply date |
| Shared truck | 6–7 days | A room, cartons and a few pallets |
| Car carrier | 4–6 days | Cars |
| Cartons, suitcases and dates by land | 6–7 days | Residents’ gifts and belongings |
| Air via King Fahd Airport | One to 3 days | Documents, parcels and urgent dates |
What lengthens the time?
- Filling the load: a shared truck collects from Al-Ahsa, Dammam and Jubail before it sets off north.
- The summer peak: the school holiday is when teachers and their families go home, so the Haditha post gets crowded.
- Dust and fog: the northern road is exposed, and traffic on it can stop for hours in sandstorms and winter fog.
- A list with no detail: a carton marked “miscellaneous” is opened and emptied at inspection.
- The owner has not arrived yet: a returnee’s file is only completed in Jordan with him present or with a power of attorney.
Shipping prices from Al-Ahsa to Jordan
The cost on this line is made by two things: the space your shipment takes up in the truck, and the service you ask for around it, such as dismantling, packing and assembly. Weight comes after them, except for heavy goods. The figures below are our starting prices from the door of the house in Al-Ahsa to the consignee’s door in Amman, and they include transport and the usual clearance at both border posts:
| Shipment | Method | Price starts from |
|---|---|---|
| A carton of belongings or dates | Shared land | SAR 140 |
| A suitcase | Shared land | SAR 230 |
| Luggage by weight | Shared land | SAR 9.2 per kilogram |
| A screen of 55 inches or more | Land, in a protective crate | SAR 370 |
| A sofa set or seating set | Shared truck | SAR 740 |
| One room of furniture | Shared truck | SAR 1,650 |
| Furniture of a two- to three-bedroom flat | Truck | SAR 3,700 |
| Furniture of a large flat | Truck | SAR 6,000 |
| A villa’s furniture | Dedicated truck | SAR 7,800 |
| Saloon car | Shared carrier | SAR 1,290 |
| Four-wheel-drive | Dedicated carrier | SAR 2,020 |
| A pallet of goods or dates | Shared truck | SAR 550 |
| 6-metre Dyna | Commercial goods | SAR 3,220 |
| 15-metre trailer | Commercial goods | SAR 5,980 |
| Air freight | Via King Fahd Airport | SAR 14 per kilogram |
| Documents | Express | SAR 83 |
| Luxury car on an enclosed carrier | Enclosed carrier | Set on request |
Prices quoted in the market: we found no one publishing a price list specific to Al-Ahsa, and most pages go no further than saying that the price follows the quantity, the distance and the type of service. The figures published for the nearby lines from the central and eastern regions to Jordan put a carton between SAR 150 and 250, luggage by weight between SAR 10 and 15 per kilogram, a room of furniture between SAR 1,800 and 2,800, a flat’s furniture between SAR 4,000 and 6,500, and a saloon car between SAR 1,400 and 1,900. If you are given a figure far below all of these, ask what it leaves out: the packing, the clearance, or the delivery inside Jordan.
| Factor | How it changes the price |
|---|---|
| Volume of the shipment | The basis, estimated with the volume calculator or from photos you send |
| Dedicated or shared | A dedicated truck is booked whole; a shared one splits the fare among its users |
| Collection point | Hofuf and Mubarraz are on the route; distant villages and Salwa add a collection run |
| Consignee’s city | Zarqa and Amman are nearest to Omari, Irbid and Madaba come next, and Aqaba is the farthest |
| Services | Dismantling, packing, wooden crates and assembly are items written into the quote |
| Time of year | Demand for trucks rises in the summer months and at the end of the school year |
How do you bring the cost down?
- Share a truck if your furniture is a room or two and your date is not binding.
- Leave worn-out furniture and old appliances in Al-Ahsa, as shipping them may cost more than they are worth.
- Add the cartons of dates and gifts to the furniture shipment instead of sending them separately.
- Book weeks before the summer holiday, when trucks are reserved in advance.
- Pack the small cartons yourself, and leave the large pieces, glass and appliances to us.
The remaining factors are explained on the shipping pricing factors page.
What sets shipping from Al-Ahsa apart
Al-Ahsa is a wide governorate, not a single city: two adjoining cities, Hofuf and Mubarraz, dozens of villages among the palms around them, and distant towns on its edges. It is also the farthest of the Eastern Province’s large cities from the Jordanian border. This makes arranging a shipment from it different from Dammam and Riyadh in specific ways:
| Particular | Its effect on the shipment | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Villages among farms and narrow roads | A trailer cannot reach every house | A small vehicle collects from the door, and the load is moved to the truck at the loading yard |
| A very hot and humid summer | Dates and wooden furniture are affected | Loading in the early morning or the evening, and a well-ventilated closed truck |
| An airport with few flights | No suitable cargo flight to Amman | Air freight leaves via King Fahd Airport in Dammam |
| The distance to the border post | A missing paper cannot be made up from the road | A complete file reviewed before loading |
| The date season | Heavy demand for shipping in late summer | Early booking for traders, and room for cartons on shared trips |
Shipping furniture and luggage from Al-Ahsa to Jordan

Household furniture is the largest thing leaving Al-Ahsa for Jordan, and most of it belongs to families going back after years. These families do not ship furniture alone but a home with everything in it: seasonal clothes, school books, kitchenware, the children’s toys and boxes of keepsakes. So we handle the shipment room by room, each room with its own numbers on the list, so that the family in Amman knows where everything is without opening every carton.
- Survey: photos or a video call are enough to estimate the volume, and we visit large homes in Hofuf and Mubarraz.
- Dismantling: bedrooms, wardrobes and the kitchen are taken apart on the loading day or before it, and their screws are kept with their pieces.
- Air conditioners and water heaters: a technician disconnects them and secures the gas and the pipes.
- Luggage: suitcases are wrapped and numbered, and clothes travel in hanging wardrobe cartons if you ask.
- Loading: heavy pieces first on the truck floor, cartons on top of them, and glass upright along the sides.
- In Jordan: our team there unloads, carries to the floor and reassembles what was dismantled.
The service is set out on the furniture shipping page.
Shipping Al-Ahsa dates to Jordan
The Al-Ahsa oasis is one of the largest palm oases in the world and is inscribed on the World Heritage List; its best-known date is Khalas, along with Shaishi and Ruzeiz. Dates are the gift that most often leaves it for Jordan: a carton for the family home, dozens of cartons in Ramadan and at Eid, or pallets for a trader. They are food, so shipping them differs from shipping clothes in the packing and in the crossing papers. The rule in force is that a personal quantity passes with the luggage and a commercial one is treated as imported food, and we confirm what applies before shipping:
| Quantity | How it is shipped | What it needs |
|---|---|---|
| One or two cartons as a gift | With the luggage by land, or by air when urgent | The consignee’s name and details, and the dates stated on the list of contents |
| Several cartons for family and friends | In the shared truck, away from appliances and detergents | Packs sealed by the factory or the farm, and the weight written on each carton |
| Commercial pallets | A Dyna or a trailer, refrigerated in the hot months | An invoice, a certificate of origin, a health certificate and an importer registered in Jordan |
- Packing: a double-wall carton and pressed or vacuum-packed dates; loose fresh dates are not shipped.
- Heat: dates are not left in a truck standing in the sun, and we load them last of all.
- Separation: they are placed away from perfumes, incense and detergents so that they do not take on their smell.
- Date syrup and date products: tight containers inside a bag, as one leaking container spoils a whole carton.
Packing and numbering every piece
A shipment travelling 1,750 km is loaded once in Al-Ahsa, may be taken down for inspection at Omari, and is then carried up stairs in Amman. So every piece is packed on the assumption that it will be lifted at least three times. The number written on the piece is the same as on the list handed to customs, and it is how a shortfall is identified if anything is short:
| What is packed | Packing method | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Bedrooms and wardrobes | Dismantled panels in blankets and corrugated cardboard | Panel corners are damaged first, so they get protectors |
| Sofas and Arabic seating | Cloth, then stretch film | The film is not closed over damp fabric |
| Glass and mirrors | Foam and a wooden frame | Loaded upright with their direction marked |
| Kitchenware, coffee pots and ornaments | Paper for each piece and cardboard dividers | A carton weighs no more than 30 kg |
| Screens and computers | Their original box or a padded crate | Photographed while working before being unplugged |
| Fridge, washing machine and oven | Foam, reinforced cardboard and straps | Disconnected and dried a day before loading |
You will find the materials explained in the packing guide, and the way loads are secured inside the truck on the packing and lashing page.
A dedicated truck or a shared one?
A dedicated truck is loaded at your home in Al-Ahsa, locked, and goes to Jordan without stopping for anyone else. A shared one starts from Al-Ahsa and completes its load from the cities of the Eastern Province, then sets off. With the first you buy time and a quiet clearance; with the second you save money. The comparison below helps you choose:
| Point of comparison | Shared truck | Dedicated truck |
|---|---|---|
| Fare | For the space you take up in the truck | For the whole truck |
| Time | 6–7 days | 4–5 days |
| Departure day | When the load is complete | The loading day itself |
| At the border post | Each shipper has his own papers | One list and one file |
| Suits | A room, cartons, suitcases, dates | A returning family’s home, or goods with a deadline |
Anyone returning with an exemption file will find a dedicated truck quieter at Omari, because his furniture is not held until the papers of a neighbouring shipment are complete. The truck types are on the land freight page.
Shipping parcels, suitcases and gifts
Many shipments from Al-Ahsa are small: a carton of children’s clothes, a suitcase for a student, a tablet for a brother, or a box of dates and coffee for a mother in Zarqa. These need neither a truck nor a survey. It is enough to send a photo and the approximate weight, and we collect from your door and add it to the nearest trip:
- By the carton: from SAR 140 for a double-wall carton of up to 30 kg.
- By the suitcase: from SAR 230; it is wrapped in film and its number is stuck on it.
- By weight: from SAR 9.2 per kilogram for what does not fit a standard carton.
- Urgent: by air from SAR 14 per kilogram, and documents from SAR 83.
- Consignee’s details: the full name, the national number, a Jordanian mobile, and the address by the nearest landmark.
- Do not put in them: cash, gold, medicine without a prescription or loose batteries.

Shipping commercial goods from Al-Ahsa to Jordan
Al-Ahsa has industrial cities and factories for packing dates, food products, plastics and building materials, and some of them have customers in the Jordanian market. Both countries are members of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area, so a product of Saudi origin enters Jordan free of customs duty when it is accompanied by an authenticated certificate of origin, while sales tax remains. What matters to the supplier is that his goods arrive complete and on the day, and that begins with the choice of truck:
- Pallet: from SAR 550 in a shared truck, wrapped and strapped before loading.
- 6-metre Dyna: from SAR 3,220 for medium shipments.
- 15-metre trailer: from SAR 5,980, closed, flatbed or refrigerated according to the goods.
- Certificate of origin: authenticated by the chamber of commerce; without it the duty is charged.
- Sales tax: 16% on most items, paid by the importer at clearance.
- Inspection: food and medicine by the Jordan Food and Drug Administration, and other items by the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization.
For regular suppliers we arrange periodic trips at an agreed price. Details are on the commercial shipping page.
Car shipping from Al-Ahsa to Jordan
Before asking about the carrier’s fare, ask: can my car be registered in Jordan at all? Jordanian customs sets conditions on age, condition and specification, and a car that does not comply stays at the border or goes back at its owner’s expense. So we ask for a photo of the registration card before anything else, and go through the following conditions with the clearing agent; they are the rules in force, and we confirm what applies before shipping:
| Item | Rule in force in Jordan |
|---|---|
| Passenger car | No more than 5 years old from the year of manufacture |
| Electric car | No more than 3 years old |
| Condition | Cars classed as damaged, flooded or burnt are not accepted |
| Steering wheel | On the left, as on cars in the Kingdom |
| Tax | Differs by fuel type, and is calculated on a value assessed by customs |
| Place of clearance | Many cars are tested and cleared at the Zarqa Free Zone |
- Fare: from SAR 1,290 for a saloon sharing a carrier with other cars, and from SAR 2,020 for a four-wheel-drive that gets a carrier to itself.
- Luxury and classic cars: an enclosed carrier and insurance at value; the price is set on request.
- Before loading: a quarter tank of fuel, personal items removed, and photos of all four sides and of the odometer.
- Export: an export certificate from the Al-Ahsa traffic department after fines are settled, and a letter from the finance provider if the car is under a lien.
- Visiting: someone who drives his car over for a visit and comes back needs neither shipping nor export. The carnet is explained on the triptik page.
For the wider picture read car shipping from Saudi Arabia; the kinds of carrier we use are described under car shipping.
The Haditha post, the Omari post and the crossing papers
Haditha is the largest land crossing between the Kingdom and Jordan, and the shipment is cleared for export there. On the other side is the Omari post, where Jordanian clearance takes place or the file is transferred to Amman customs. Preparing the crossing papers is done in Al-Ahsa, not at the border: we gather copies of the documents, write the list in Arabic, and send the file to the clearing agent at least a day before the truck arrives. This is what the Jordanian side asks for in each case:
| Case | Rule in force at Jordanian customs |
|---|---|
| A Jordanian returning after a year or more abroad | His used furniture and effects are exempt on conditions |
| When the furniture arrives | Within about six months of its owner’s return |
| Someone who has had the exemption before | Repeats are restricted, and his position is reviewed before shipping |
| New, unused items | Duty according to the item, and 16% sales tax |
| More than one appliance of the same kind | What exceeds the household’s need is treated as goods |
| A non-Jordanian coming to live there | According to his status and residence; we ask the clearing agent about his case |
| Shipment | Papers |
|---|---|
| A returnee’s furniture and effects | The passport stamped with the final exit, the end-of-service letter or a new job contract in Jordan, proof of housing there by lease or ownership, and a numbered list of everything in the truck |
| Cartons, gifts and personal dates | The sender’s ID, the consignee’s name, national number and mobile, and a list of what is in each carton with its value |
| Commercial goods | A commercial invoice, a packing list, an authenticated certificate of origin, a health certificate for food, and the importer’s registration |
| A car | The registration card, the export certificate, the owner’s ID, and proof of the year of manufacture |
The Kingdom has two other crossings with Jordan, Halat Ammar and Durra, both in Tabuk region, so a truck coming from Al-Ahsa does not pass through them. Sample papers are on the required documents page, and the steps of the procedure on the customs clearance page.
What cannot be shipped to Jordan, and what needs permission
A single banned item inside a carton is enough to have the truck held and inspected piece by piece, delaying everyone who shared the trip with you. So go through this list before you close your cartons, and ask us about anything you are unsure of:
| Item | Status |
|---|---|
| Weapons, ammunition and toys resembling weapons | Banned |
| Narcotics and psychotropic substances | Banned |
| Gas, fuel and flammable paints | Banned in general freight |
| Medicine | A personal quantity with a prescription |
| Drones and wireless devices | With permission ahead of shipping |
| Dates and food | Personal amounts pass; commercial ones need a health certificate |
| Counterfeit goods | Confiscated |
| Cash, gold and original certificates | Travel with their owner, not in the truck |
The full list is on the prohibited items page.
Delivery in Amman, Irbid, Zarqa and Madaba

Most shipments from Al-Ahsa end up in four cities: Amman and Zarqa in the centre, Irbid in the north, and Madaba south-west of the capital. A truck entering from Omari reaches Zarqa first and then Amman, and from there shipments are distributed on smaller vehicles to the other cities. Unloading is at the door of the house in every case, while carrying to upper floors and assembly are agreed when booking:
| City | Approximate distance from Omari | What to allow for at delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Zarqa | About 130 km | The nearest large city to the border post, with the free zone |
| Amman | About 155 km | Districts on slopes with long stairways, so a small vehicle and extra workers are used |
| Madaba | About 185 km | Served from Amman on the same day or the next |
| Irbid | About 230 km | Usually a day after Amman, with Ramtha and its surroundings added |
| Salt, Mafraq, Jerash and Ajloun | 160–220 km | Daytime delivery on mountain roads |
| Karak, Ma’an and Aqaba | 270–480 km | An extra day, and Aqaba has its own customs zone |
Write the consignee’s address for us as it is known in Jordan: the area, the street name, the building number, the floor, and the nearest roundabout, mosque or school. Say too if the street is too narrow for a truck. Destination information is on the shipping to Jordan page.
Is there sea freight from Al-Ahsa to Jordan?
Not in practice. Jordan’s only port is Aqaba on the Red Sea, and the nearest port to Al-Ahsa is King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam on the Arabian Gulf, so a ship between them sails round the whole Arabian Peninsula. The land truck arrives before the container has left the port. Sea is considered only for heavy equipment or large commercial containers trucked first to Jeddah port, and their fare is set on request. The methods are compared on the shipping methods comparison page.
Air freight from Al-Ahsa to Jordan

Al-Ahsa has an international airport, but its flights are few and mostly seasonal, and we do not rely on it for a shipment that has to arrive on a date. So an air shipment is collected from your door in Al-Ahsa and driven to King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, about two hours away. From there it goes to Queen Alia International Airport in Amman on a direct flight or with a stop, depending on the schedule, and is delivered in one to 3 days.
- What it suits: official papers and certificates, small parcels, boxes of premium dates for occasions, and a suitcase sent ahead of its owner.
- Chargeable weight: the greater of the actual and the volumetric weight; you will find it with the volumetric weight calculator.
- Price: from SAR 14 per kilogram, and express documents from SAR 83.
- Dates by air: sealed packs that leak no syrup, in a sturdy carton, and declared on the manifest.
- Delivery: clearance at Queen Alia Airport, then delivery to the address in Amman, and to the governorates the next day.
- What does not fly: aerosols and perfumes in quantity, loose batteries, and any flammable liquid.
Someone shipping a home can send the urgent part by air and leave the rest to the truck. The service is on the air freight page.
Collection from Hofuf, Mubarraz and the towns of Al-Ahsa
We come to your location wherever it is in the governorate. In Hofuf we collect from Al-Khalidiyah, Al-Mazruiyah, As-Salmaniyah, Al-Mahasin and others, and in Mubarraz from Ar-Rashidiyah, Ash-Shihabiyah and their neighbours. The eastern and northern villages among the palms are served by a small vehicle. The distances below are approximate, from central Hofuf:
| Location | Distance from Hofuf | Collection arrangement |
|---|---|---|
| Mubarraz | Adjoining Hofuf | On the same day as Hofuf |
| Al-Jafr, At-Taraf and Al-Qarah | Up to 20 km | A small collection vehicle to the loading yard |
| Al-Omran | About 20 km | On the same day |
| Al-Oyun | About 30 km to the north | On the way out, so it is loaded at the end of the round |
| Abqaiq | About 75 km | On the truck’s road north |
| Al-Uqair and Salwa | 75–150 km | By prior appointment, with the collection run charged |
If you hand back the house before the shipping date, or your home in Jordan is not ready, we keep the furniture packed and numbered in the warehouse until the day you choose. The service is on the storage page, and our work in the Eastern Province is in the article international shipping company in Dammam.
Steps for shipping from Al-Ahsa to Jordan
- Request: you call or message us with what you want to ship, your location in Al-Ahsa and the consignee’s city.
- Estimate: we work out the volume from photos or a visit, and suggest a dedicated or a shared truck.
- Paper review: we look at your passport and exemption documents, and tell you what may attract duty.
- Quote: a price broken down item by item, with the expected time.
- Date: we fix the loading day, and choose an hour away from the midday heat.
- Packing and loading: dismantling, packing and numbering, a list signed by you, and a photo of the truck before it is locked.
- Crossing: export clearance at Haditha, then Jordanian clearance at Omari or Amman customs.
- Delivery: unloading at the consignee’s door, checking the pieces against the list, and signing the record.
How do you track your shipment from Al-Ahsa to Jordan?
Tracking on a land line is not a map with a moving dot but honest news that reaches you at every stop. We offer three ways of doing it, and you choose the one that suits you:
- Shipment number: written on the collection receipt you take on loading day. With it we know your truck, its driver and its position, and you enter it on the track your shipment page.
- WhatsApp messages: we send an update on leaving Al-Ahsa, at Hafar al-Batin, at Arar, on entering and leaving the border post, and a day before delivery.
- Direct call: one member of staff follows your shipment from the start, and you call him on 0552803439 from 7 am to 11 pm.
We advise that the consignee’s number in Jordan is registered with us alongside yours, so that the delivery time reaches him directly and unloading is not delayed by a phone nobody answers.
Insurance and the safety of the shipment
The safety of the shipment begins with packing and securing, and insurance covers the risk that remains after that. It is optional, and its premium is a percentage of the value you write down for each valuable piece. We suggest it for anyone shipping a car, recent appliances or expensive furniture, as the road is long and involves loading and unloading.
- What it covers: damage and loss in transit, under the terms of the policy, which you read before paying.
- What it usually does not cover: items the owner packed poorly himself, and defects that predate shipping.
- Evidence: photos of the pieces before packing, a numbered list with values, and a handover record on which any remark is written before signing.
- The truck: a closed box, lashing straps, and dividers between the shipments of different owners.
The terms of cover and how to claim are on the cargo insurance page.
Shipping from Jordan to Al-Ahsa
The same road works on the way back. We collect from your home or warehouse in Amman, Irbid, Zarqa or Madaba, clear at Omari and then Haditha, and deliver in Hofuf, Mubarraz or any town in the governorate. Someone coming to work in the Kingdom brings in his used furniture and effects with a valid residence permit or a work visa and a list of contents. A product of Jordanian origin enters with an authenticated certificate of origin.
Tips before shipping from Al-Ahsa to Jordan
- Start with the papers before the cartons: the end of residence and the housing contract in Jordan are the basis of the exemption file.
- Do not book your ticket before you know the day the truck leaves, and arrive in Jordan before it does.
- Sort the house before the survey, as what you will sell or give away in Al-Ahsa does not enter the price.
- Write the room name and the number on every carton, and keep a photo of the list.
- Put dates in separate cartons and state them on the list; do not hide them among clothes.
- Carry passports, certificates, gold and medicines with you, and do not put them in the truck.
How do you choose a shipping company from Al-Ahsa to Jordan?
Reputation, customer reviews and a prompt answer on the phone are all useful signs, but they are not enough on their own. Read the reviews that give details: a city, a duration, a problem and how it was solved, and skip general praise. Then test the business yourself with these questions before you pay:
| Question | A reassuring answer | A worrying answer |
|---|---|---|
| How long does it take? | 4 to 7 days, with the reason explained | “Two days and it is with you” for a home’s furniture |
| How much is it? | He asks about the volume and both addresses, then itemises | A ready figure before he knows what you are shipping |
| What about customs? | He asks for your papers and says what is exempt | “No customs on anything” |
| Who delivers in Jordan? | A team that brings it to the door and assembles | “You collect from the yard” |
| How do I follow it? | A shipment number and a named member of staff | The driver’s number only |
| Is the business registered? | A commercial registration and a stamped collection receipt | A social media account with no business name |
Common mistakes when shipping from Al-Ahsa to Jordan
- Handing furniture to a driver with no collection receipt and no list.
- Shipping new appliances in their boxes within exempt used furniture.
- Sending the shipment weeks before its owner travels, so it waits for him at customs.
- Putting loose dates or poorly sealed date syrup among clothes.
- Shipping a car older than the age allowed for registration.
- Writing the consignee’s address as the district name only, with no street and no Jordanian phone number.
- Loading at midday in summer without preparation, so appliances and wooden furniture suffer.

Frequently asked questions about shipping from Al-Ahsa to Jordan
How much does shipping from Al-Ahsa to Jordan cost?
Our starting prices: SAR 140 for a carton, SAR 230 for a suitcase, SAR 1,650 for a single furnished room, SAR 3,700 for a flat of two to three bedrooms, SAR 7,800 for a villa, and SAR 1,290 for a saloon car riding a shared carrier. Tell us how much you are sending and which Jordanian city it is going to, and you get the exact figure. Enquiries: 0552803439.
How many days does a shipment from Al-Ahsa need to reach Jordan?
A dedicated truck arrives in 4 to 5 days, a shared truck in 6 to 7 days because it leaves once its load is complete, and air freight via King Fahd Airport in one to 3 days. The time is counted from the loading day in Hofuf or Mubarraz to the day of unloading at the consignee’s.
How far is Al-Ahsa from Amman by road?
About 1,750 km on the northern road. From Hofuf to Nuayriyah and then Hafar al-Batin, from there along the northern road to Rafha, Arar, Turaif and Qurayyat, then 36 km to the Haditha border post, and about 155 km from the Omari post to Amman.
Which border post does a truck from Al-Ahsa leave through?
Through the Haditha post north of Qurayyat, which faces the Omari border post in Jordan. It is the crossing used by trucks from the Eastern Province and Riyadh. The Halat Ammar and Durra posts serve shipments from Tabuk and the west coast and are not on the road from Al-Ahsa.
Can Al-Ahsa dates be shipped to Jordan?
Yes. Personal quantities and gifts travel in sealed cartons within the land shipment or by air. Commercial quantities need an invoice, a certificate of origin and a health certificate, and are inspected on entry. We confirm what is required with the clearing agent before loading, because food requirements are revised from time to time.
Is the furniture of a Jordanian returning from Al-Ahsa exempt from customs?
Under the rules currently applied, yes, on conditions: at least a year of residence abroad, used household items only, arrival of the truck within six months of the owner going home, and the owner or someone holding his power of attorney at the clearance. Anything still boxed and unused is charged duty plus 16% sales tax. Send us your papers first and we check them.
Which papers should I prepare before shipping?
For a returnee’s home: his passport stamped with the final exit, the end-of-service letter or a job contract in Jordan, proof of his housing there, and a numbered list of pieces and cartons. For gifts: the sender’s ID and the consignee’s details. For goods: an invoice, a packing list and a certificate of origin.
Do you collect from the villages of Al-Ahsa or only from Hofuf?
We collect from Hofuf and Mubarraz and from the towns and villages of the oasis: Al-Oyun, Al-Omran, Al-Jafr, At-Taraf, Al-Qarah and others, and from Abqaiq, Al-Uqair and Salwa by prior arrangement. The collection vehicle comes to the door of the house, farm or warehouse.
Do you ship cars from Al-Ahsa to Jordan?
Yes, on a car carrier. A saloon on a shared carrier starts from SAR 1,290, and a four-wheel-drive on a dedicated carrier from SAR 2,020. We ask about the year of manufacture first, as the rule in force in Jordan is that a passenger car is no more than 5 years old.
Is there air freight from Al-Ahsa to Jordan?
Al-Ahsa International Airport has few flights, so we send air shipments via King Fahd International Airport in Dammam to Queen Alia Airport in Amman. The price starts from SAR 14 per kilogram, express documents from SAR 83, and delivery takes one to 3 days.
How do I follow my shipment after it leaves Al-Ahsa?
By the shipment number written on the collection receipt. Send it on WhatsApp or call 0552803439 and we tell you where the truck has reached. We also send an update on leaving Al-Ahsa, at Hafar al-Batin and Arar, at the border post, and a day before delivery.
Is insuring the shipment necessary?
It is optional, and we advise it for appliances, cars and valuable furniture because the road is more than 1,700 km long and involves loading and unloading at inspection. It is calculated as a percentage of the value you declare, and covers damage and loss under the terms of the policy.
Which cities of Jordan do you deliver to?
Amman, Irbid, Zarqa and Madaba, as well as Salt, Mafraq, Jerash, Ajloun, Karak, Ma’an and Aqaba. Unloading is at the door of the house, with carrying to the floor and assembly if you ask for them when booking.
What cannot be shipped to Jordan?
Weapons and anything resembling them, narcotics, flammable materials and counterfeit goods. Medicine passes in a personal quantity with its prescription, and a drone or a wireless device needs prior permission. Cash, gold and original documents stay with their owner.
Do you carry shipments from Jordan to Al-Ahsa?
Yes. We collect from your address in Amman, Irbid or Zarqa, clear at Omari and Haditha, and deliver in Hofuf, Mubarraz or any town in Al-Ahsa.
