Who ships from Dammam to Jordan, and what do they ship?
Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran and Jubail are home to many Jordanians working in education, hospitals, engineering, contracting and industry. When a contract ends, its holder goes back with a whole household: bedrooms, a kitchen, appliances, cartons of books and children’s toys. That is the largest flow on the route. Next comes what a resident sends to relatives in the holiday seasons, then factory goods, then cars. The table shows what suits each of them:
| Shipper | What they ship | What we suggest |
|---|---|---|
| A Jordanian family that has finished work in the Eastern Province | All the home’s furniture and appliances | A full truck carrying a single exemption file |
| A teacher or nurse returning alone | A room, suitcases and cartons | Space in a shared load |
| A resident sending to family | Clothes, gifts and an appliance or two | By the carton or by the kilogram |
| A factory or supplier in Dammam or Jubail | Plastics, chemicals, building materials and food | A pallet, a Dyna truck or a full trailer |
| Owner of a recent car | A car to be registered in Jordan | Car carrier |
| Someone with urgent paperwork | Documents, samples and spare parts | Air from King Fahd Airport |
The land route from Dammam to Jordan and its transit time

Many people assume a truck from Dammam drops down to Riyadh and then climbs north, but that is not what happens. The driver leaves Dammam towards Nairiyah, takes the Hafar Al-Batin road, and from there joins the international northern road that runs alongside the Iraqi border: Rafha, Arar, then Turaif. After Turaif he turns west to Qurayyat, and the Haditha crossing lies 36 km north of it. This Saudi stretch is about 1,500 km, a dual carriageway used daily by Gulf trucks bound for the Levant.
| Stage | Approximate distance | Usual truck time |
|---|---|---|
| Packing and loading in Dammam | — | One day |
| Dammam → Hafar Al-Batin | About 480 km via Nairiyah | 6–7 hours |
| Hafar Al-Batin → Arar | About 570 km via Rafha | 7–8 hours |
| Arar → Haditha crossing | About 430 km via Turaif and Qurayyat | 5–6 hours |
| Clearance at Haditha and Omari | — | Hours to a day |
| Omari → Amman | About 155 km via Azraq and Zarqa | Two to 3 hours |
| Unloading and assembly in the home | — | Half a day to a day |
The distances are approximate, and the driving hours exclude the driver’s statutory rest. That is why the trip is counted in days, not hours:
| Shipping method | Door to door | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Full truck | 3–5 days | A whole home, or goods that fill a truck |
| Shared load | 6–8 days | A room, cartons, a few pallets |
| Car carrier | 4–6 days | Cars |
| Air from King Fahd Airport | One to 3 days | Parcels, urgent luggage and documents |
What lengthens the time?
- The summer holiday: at the end of the school year teachers’ families go back all at once, so bookings in the Eastern Province fill up and the queue at Haditha grows.
- Filling a shared load: a truck does not cover 1,650 km half empty, so it waits until it is full.
- Dust and poor visibility: the northern road crosses open desert, and traffic on it can stop for hours in a storm.
- A vague list of contents: the word “belongings” with no detail makes the Omari officer open the cartons one by one.
- The shipment arriving before its owner: a returnee’s file cannot be completed in his absence or that of his agent.
Times for other destinations are on the transit times page.
Shipping costs from Dammam to Jordan
The truck fare on this route rests on two things: the space your shipment takes up, and the service you ask for around it — dismantling, packing and assembly. A family that books a full truck pays for the whole trip and moves the same day, while someone sending a room or ten cartons pays only for a share of the truck. The figures below are where our prices start, from the address in Dammam to the address in Amman:
| Shipment | Mode | Price starts from |
|---|---|---|
| Carton of personal belongings | Shared land load | SAR 140 |
| Suitcase | Shared land load | SAR 230 |
| Luggage by weight | Shared land load | SAR 9.2 per kilogram |
| Screen of 55 inches or more | By land in a protective crate | SAR 370 |
| Sofa set or floor seating | Shared load | SAR 740 |
| Furniture of one room | Shared load | SAR 1,650 |
| Furniture of a two- to three-bedroom flat | Truck | SAR 3,700 |
| Furniture of a large flat | Truck | SAR 6,000 |
| Furniture of a villa | Full truck | SAR 7,800 |
| Saloon car | Shared carrier | SAR 1,290 |
| Four-wheel-drive | Dedicated carrier | SAR 2,020 |
| Pallet of goods | Shared load | SAR 550 |
| 6-metre Dyna truck | Commercial goods | SAR 3,220 |
| 15-metre trailer | Commercial goods | SAR 5,980 |
| Air freight | From King Fahd Airport | SAR 14 per kilogram |
| Documents | Express | SAR 83 |
| 20ft container to Aqaba | By sea from Jeddah port | SAR 4,600, with trucking from Dammam set on request |
Market prices for the Dammam – Jordan route are rarely published: most of those advertising the service in the Eastern Province settle for “call for the price” or a fixed discount on a bill whose amount they never state. The figures that do circulate are SAR 300 to 600 for a small air shipment of up to 20 kg, and SAR 1,500 to 3,000 for a 20ft container with no word on what the sum covers. In offers for furniture from the Kingdom to Jordan in general, a room runs between SAR 1,800 and 2,800 and a flat between SAR 4,000 and 6,500. So measure any offer you receive against the table, and ask for its line items before you agree.
| Factor | How it changes the price |
|---|---|
| Volume of the shipment | The first thing calculated. Estimate it yourself with the volume calculator |
| Type of service | Air costs more per kilogram, and land is cheaper for anything large |
| Full or shared | A full truck is two to three days faster and costs more |
| Volumetric weight | By air, a light bulky parcel is charged on its size, not its weight |
| Governorate of delivery | Zarqa and Amman are on the road from the crossing, Irbid is further, and Aqaba adds a day |
| Extra services | Dismantling, packing, assembly, insurance and storage are written as separate items |
| Season | June to August see higher demand than the rest of the year |
Tips for cutting costs
- Send the big and the heavy by land, and keep air for what cannot wait.
- If your shipment is under half a truck, book shared space and accept the extra days.
- Compare offers on one basis: do they include packing, clearance and unloading, or transport alone?
- Sell old mattresses and cheap wardrobes in Dammam, since shipping them costs nearly what their like costs in Amman.
- Do not put a new appliance in its box among your furniture, because its duty and tax eat up what you saved.
- Book at least three weeks before the end of the school year.

What sets shipping from Dammam and the Eastern Province apart
Dammam is the furthest of the Kingdom’s big cities from Jordan, and that changes the sums. The road is about 200 km longer than from Riyadh, so shared loads run less often and booking early matters more. In return the Eastern Province has advantages of its own: an international airport with direct flights to Amman, industrial cities that fill trucks with commercial goods, and towns so close together that their shipments are gathered in one round.
- Adjoining cities: Dammam, Khobar and Dhahran form one conurbation, so a shipment from Ash-Shati district and another from Al-Aqrabiyah are loaded on the same day.
- Truck entry hours: the movement of large trucks inside the conurbation is regulated at times set by the traffic department, and we confirm the hours in force before loading day.
- Residential compounds: many Jordanians live in gated compounds that require an exit permit for furniture and the truck’s plate registered at the gate.
- Humidity: the coastal air is damp, so mattresses and sofas are dried before wrapping to avoid trapping moisture in the truck for a week.
- A port on the Gulf, not the Red Sea: King Abdulaziz Port does not serve Aqaba, so the road is the Eastern Province’s way to Jordan.

Shipping returnees’ furniture and household goods from Dammam to Jordan

Someone returning for good is not only moving furniture; a customs file travels with it. What is written in the inventory on packing day in Dammam is exactly what the customs officer at Omari reads days later. So our work starts with paper before cardboard: we ask about the final-exit date, about duplicate appliances, and about every new piece that has never been used. Then the crew comes to your home with its materials.
- Survey: photos or a video call for each room, from which we estimate the volume and decide whether shared space is enough or a full truck is needed.
- Dismantling: beds, wardrobes and dining tables are taken apart, and each piece’s screws go into a bag taped to it.
- Appliances: the fridge is unplugged a day ahead and dried, the washing machine’s drum is secured, and the split air conditioner’s gas is pumped down into its outdoor unit.
- Personal effects: clothes, books and children’s toys go into double-walled cartons, each marked with its number and its room.
- The numbered inventory: a line for every carton and piece, in the owner’s name as it appears in the passport, in Arabic and English copies.
- Loading and sealing: heavy items at the bottom, glass upright along the sides, then the truck is closed and sealed in front of you.
In Jordan our crew there sets each piece down in its room, reassembles what was dismantled, and takes away the empty cardboard. The service is explained on the furniture shipping page.
Packing kitchenware, glass and appliances
What breaks most on a 1,650 km trip is not the wardrobe or the bed but plates, glasses and table tops. These pieces survive a single knock and give way to two unbroken days of vibration. So we never fill a kitchen carton to the brim, we separate every two pieces, and we mark the carton’s top side. This is how we treat each kind:
| Item | How it is packed | What we watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Plates and dishes | Paper between every two plates, stacked on edge rather than flat | The carton weighs no more than 20 kg |
| Glasses and cups | Each piece in its own paper, inside cardboard dividers | The gaps are filled so that nothing moves when the carton is shaken |
| Pots and pans | Nested inside one another with paper between | Glass lids are wrapped on their own |
| Table glass and mirrors | Foam on both faces and a wooden frame | Loaded upright and braced against the truck wall |
| Screens | The original carton, or a lined wooden crate | Nothing is placed on top, and they travel upright |
| Small appliances | Foam on all six sides in a double carton | Cables and moving parts are tied and fixed |
| Lacquered wood | A blanket, then corrugated cardboard | Corners are protected with reinforced pieces |
The mains voltage in Jordan is 230 volts, and the frequency is 50 Hz against 60 in Saudi Arabia. An appliance whose label reads 50/60 works there as it is, and Jordanian homes have several socket types, so you may need an adaptor. All the packing methods are in the packing guide, and securing the load is on the packing and lashing page.
A full truck or space in a shared truck?
On a route this long the difference between the two is clearer than on the short Gulf routes. A full truck leaves Dammam on the evening of loading day and carries one seal and one file. A shared truck gathers shipments from Dammam, Khobar and Jubail and may add more in Hafar Al-Batin, so it runs days later but splits the road fare among its owners.
| Point of comparison | Full truck | Shared load |
|---|---|---|
| What you pay for | The whole trip | The space you occupy |
| When it moves | On loading day | When the truck is full |
| Arrival | 3–5 days | 6–8 days |
| At customs | One list in your name | Several lists, each reviewed on its own |
| Suits | A whole home, and a returnee’s exemption file | A room, cartons or a few pallets |
Our advice to anyone returning under an exemption: take the full truck if your furniture exceeds two rooms. A paper running late for the owner of another shipment holds the whole shared truck at the crossing. Truck types are on the land freight page.
Shipping parcels, cartons and suitcases
The nurse sending Eid clothes to her children in Irbid, and the engineer sending his books ahead of his flight, do not need a truck. Their shipments are added to the land trips leaving the Eastern Province and handed over at the consignee’s door. Whatever is urgent or light goes by air.
- Carton: starts from SAR 140, with a 30 kg limit per carton so the base does not give way.
- Suitcase: starts from SAR 230, wrapped in film with its number fixed to it.
- By weight: from SAR 9.2 per kilogram for luggage that does not fill a standard carton.
- Consignee details: the full four-part name, the national number, a Jordanian mobile number, and the governorate and district.
- What stays out: cash, gold, passports and medicines without a prescription.
Details are on the parcel shipping page.
Shipping commercial goods from Dammam and Jubail
The Eastern Province is the heart of Saudi industry: industrial cities in Dammam, petrochemical complexes in Jubail, and food and building-material plants around them. The Jordanian market buys plastic granules, chemicals, aluminium, insulation and foodstuffs from this output. Both countries belong to the Greater Arab Free Trade Area, so a product of Saudi origin enters free of customs duty when a certified certificate of origin accompanies it.
- How it is priced: the fare for a single pallet starts from SAR 550 when it joins others, from SAR 3,220 for a Dyna truck 6 metres long, and from SAR 5,980 for a full trailer of 15 metres.
- Truck type: curtain-sided for pallets, flatbed for equipment and steel, and refrigerated for heat-sensitive food.
- Certificate of origin: certified by the chamber of commerce; without it the duty is charged in full at Omari.
- Sales tax: 16% on most items, paid in Jordan even when the goods are exempt from duty.
- Chemicals: shipped with the safety data sheet and hazard labels, and some need prior approval in Jordan.
- The Jordanian importer: needs a commercial register and an importer card, and some items are tested by the standards and metrology body.
We agree with the factory on the loading time at the warehouse and the unloading time at the customer before sending the truck. The service is on the commercial shipping page.
Car shipping from Dammam to Jordan
Before asking about the carrier fare, ask: will Jordan accept my car? Customs there clears for registration only a recent car with a clean record, and a rejected car comes back 1,650 km at its owner’s expense. So we ask for a photo of the registration card first, check the year of manufacture and the fuel type, and then give you the price.
| Item | The rule in force in Jordan |
|---|---|
| Passenger car | No more than 5 years old from the year of manufacture |
| Electric car | No more than 3 years old |
| The car’s record | One classed as damaged, flooded or burnt is refused |
| Steering wheel | On the left, as on cars in the Kingdom |
| Place of inspection and clearance | The free zone in Zarqa for most cars |
| Tax | Differs between petrol, hybrid and electric, and is charged on a value assessed by customs |
- Fare: from SAR 1,290 when a saloon shares the carrier with other cars, and from SAR 2,020 when a carrier is set aside for a four-wheel-drive.
- Luxury car: an enclosed carrier and insurance at its value, with the price set on request.
- Before loading: a quarter tank of fuel, no belongings inside the car, and photos of every side with the odometer reading.
- Export from Dammam: an export certificate and export plates from the traffic department once fines are settled, and a release letter from the bank if the car is financed.
- A visit is not an export: someone driving his Saudi car to Jordan on holiday needs neither shipping nor permanent clearance. The passage document is on the triptik page.
Tax rates shift with successive decisions, so we take the current ones from the clearing agent before shipping and do not print a figure that may change. The general conditions are in the article car shipping from Saudi Arabia, and the service is on the car shipping page.
The Haditha crossing and the Omari post: clearance and documents
A truck leaving Dammam is cleared twice: export with Saudi customs at Haditha, and import with Jordanian customs at Omari. Your home is 1,500 km from the crossing, so nobody goes back to fetch a forgotten paper. The file is therefore completed in Dammam, and its copy reaches the clearing agent before the truck does. Some returnees’ files are transferred from Omari to Amman customs to be completed there.
| Case | The rule in force at Jordanian customs |
|---|---|
| A Jordanian returning after a year or more abroad | His used furniture and effects are exempt |
| Arrival of the furniture | Within six months of its owner’s return |
| Someone who has used the exemption before | Repeats are restricted, so his position is checked before he ships |
| A non-Jordanian arriving to live | His status and residence are considered, and we ask the clearing agent about his case |
| A new piece in its box | Duty according to its type and 16% sales tax |
| More than one appliance of the same kind | One is exempt, and the extra counts as merchandise |
| Clearance | In the presence of the owner or his appointed agent |
| Shipment | Papers it needs |
|---|---|
| A returnee’s furniture and effects | Passport showing the cancelled residence permit, an end-of-service letter or a job contract in Jordan, a lease or title deed, and the numbered inventory |
| Cartons for relatives | A copy of the sender’s ID or residence permit, the consignee’s details and national number, and a list of the contents with their value |
| Commercial goods | Commercial invoice, packing list, certified certificate of origin, and the importer’s register and card |
| Car | The registration card, the export certificate, the owner’s ID, and proof of the year of manufacture |
These rules are issued by Jordanian customs and may be amended, so we confirm the current ones before every shipment. The list of papers is on the required documents page, and the procedure on the customs clearance page.
Why Haditha and not Halat Ammar or Durra?
There are three land crossings between the Kingdom and Jordan, and Dammam’s position settles the choice. Haditha lies in the far north, in line with the road coming from Arar and Turaif, while the other two are in the Tabuk region to the west. Going to them from the Eastern Province adds hundreds of kilometres for nothing, unless the shipment is commercial and bound for Aqaba itself.
| Saudi crossing | What faces it | Does it suit a Dammam shipment? |
|---|---|---|
| Haditha, 36 km north of Qurayyat | Omari, about 155 km from Amman | Yes; it is the road for trucks from the Eastern Province, Riyadh and Qassim |
| Halat Ammar, north of Tabuk | Mudawwara, about 320 km from Amman | No; it is for trucks from Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah and Tabuk |
| Durra, 11 km north of Haql | Durra on the Aqaba coast | In a few cases, for goods bound for Aqaba |
The locations of all the crossings are on the ports and gateways page.
What cannot be shipped to Jordan, and what needs permission
A single carton holding a banned item is enough to have a whole home’s furniture set down on the floor of the customs yard. The safest course is to sort these items out before the packing crew arrives, and to ask us about anything you are unsure of.
| Item | Status |
|---|---|
| Weapons, ammunition and replicas of them | Banned |
| Narcotics and psychotropic substances | Banned |
| Gas cylinders, fuel and flammable paints | Not loaded with furniture |
| Medicines | A quantity for personal use, with the prescription |
| Drones and radio equipment | Need approval before shipping |
| Foodstuffs | A household quantity; commercial ones with a health certificate and testing |
| Books and discs in large numbers | May be reviewed |
| Counterfeit goods | Confiscated |
| Gold, cash and original certificates | Travel with you, not with the truck |
The full list is on the prohibited items page.
Delivering shipments from Dammam in Amman, Zarqa, Irbid and Aqaba

A truck entering from Omari meets Zarqa first and then Amman, the two cities nearest the crossing and where we deliver most. From Amman distribution heads north to Irbid, Jerash and Ajloun, and south along the Desert Highway to Karak, Ma’an and Aqaba. The distances in the table are approximate and measured from the Omari post:
| City | Approximate distance from Omari | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Zarqa | About 130 km | On the road from the crossing, with the free zone and car customs |
| Amman | About 155 km | Hillside districts, and a smaller vehicle for narrow streets |
| Mafraq | About 160 km | Served northwards from Zarqa |
| Salt and Madaba | About 185 km | With the Amman delivery or the day after |
| Irbid, Jerash and Ajloun | 200–230 km | Usually a day after Amman |
| Karak and Tafilah | 270–330 km | South along the Desert Highway |
| Aqaba | About 480 km | An extra day, and its special economic zone has a separate customs regime |
Delivery includes unloading and assembly in the home: the crew carries the pieces up to the floor, puts bedrooms and wardrobes back together, and sets each carton in the room written on it. Amman is a city of hills, so tell us beforehand how many flights of stairs there are and whether the building has a lift, and name the nearest roundabout or landmark to the home. Destination information is on the shipping to Jordan page.
Is there sea freight from Dammam to Jordan?
Many ask about sea transport because it is usually the cheapest for large volumes. On this route it is not. Dammam’s port is on the Arabian Gulf, and Aqaba is Jordan’s only port, on the Red Sea. A vessel would pass the Strait of Hormuz, round Oman and Yemen and climb the whole Red Sea, a voyage of weeks to a country a truck reaches in days. The realistic sea alternative is to truck the container to Jeddah Islamic Port and sail it to Aqaba in two to 4 days. That suits only heavy commercial cargo or equipment in no hurry. A 20ft container from Jeddah port to Aqaba starts from SAR 4,600, and trucking it from Dammam to Jeddah is set on request. So on this route the closed truck plays the container’s part: large volume at a fare below air. Read about sea freight and when we turn to it.
Air freight from Dammam to Jordan

King Fahd International Airport lies tens of kilometres north-west of central Dammam, and from it direct flights to Queen Alia International Airport in Amman take about two and a half hours. The number of flights varies with the season, and when no suitable direct flight is available the shipment is loaded on a connecting one. With clearance at both airports and the delivery run, the shipment is handed over in Amman within one to 3 days.
- What it suits: parcels and urgent luggage, documents, commercial samples, and spare parts that work depends on.
- Price: from SAR 14 per kilogram, and express documents from SAR 83.
- How it is charged: the scale reading is compared with the weight worked out from the parcel’s size, and the larger of the two is billed. Test yours in the volumetric weight calculator.
- Delivery in Amman: the shipment is cleared at Queen Alia Airport and then taken to the address, and to the governorates the following day.
- What does not fly: loose batteries, perfume in quantity, aerosol cans and flammable liquids.
- Security: the parcel passes security screening at the airport and is handed over against a signature, and its air waybill number lets you follow it until receipt.
Someone returning for good can split the shipment: two suitcases of essentials by air to arrive with him, and the rest of the home by land. Details are on the air freight page.
Air, land or sea: how do you choose?
Two questions settle the choice: how long can what you are shipping wait, and how big is it? Anything light with a near deadline belongs on the aircraft. Anything that is a home or merchandise belongs on the truck. The sea enters the picture in one narrow case only.
| Point of comparison | Air | Land | Sea via Jeddah |
|---|---|---|---|
| Time | One to 3 days | 3–8 days | Two weeks or more with trucking to Jeddah |
| Cost | Highest per kilogram | Lowest for large volume | Suits heavy containers only |
| Suits | Parcels, documents and samples | Furniture, luggage, goods and cars | Equipment and commercial cargo in no hurry |
| Delivery | Amman first | Any governorate, to the door | Aqaba port, then a truck |
The general comparison of methods is on the shipping methods comparison page.
Collection from Dammam’s districts and the towns of the Eastern Province
The packing crew comes to where you live: in Al-Faisaliyah, Ash-Shati, Al-Mazruiyah, Uhud, An-Nur, Al-Fayha, Badr, Taybah and Al-Jalawiyah, and in Dammam’s other districts. We gather shipments from the neighbouring towns before departure day, because the truck then heads north and does not come back:
| Town | Approximate distance from Dammam | How we serve it |
|---|---|---|
| Khobar and Dhahran | 15–25 km | In the same round as Dammam |
| Qatif and Saihat | 15–30 km | On the same day |
| Ras Tanura and Abqaiq | 70–80 km | Before loading day |
| Jubail | About 95 km | On the northern road, so loaded in passing |
| Al-Ahsa | About 150 km | By prior arrangement, and it has an article of its own |
| Nairiyah and Hafar Al-Batin | 210–480 km | On the truck’s road to Haditha |
If your tenancy ends before the truck’s date, or your home in Jordan is late being ready, we keep your belongings in the warehouse, packed and numbered, until the day you choose. Read about storage.
How do you order shipping from Dammam to Jordan? The steps
- Get in touch: by phone or WhatsApp on 0552803439, or through the request form on the site.
- Send the information: a description and photos of what you are shipping, its weight or dimensions if you know them, your district in Dammam, and your city in Jordan.
- Customs review: you give us the final-exit date and how many years you lived here, and we sort your list into exempt pieces and pieces that will be charged.
- The offer: you receive an itemised price: dismantling, packing, transport, clearance, unloading and assembly.
- Confirmation and payment: you accept the offer, we fix the loading day, and you pay by bank transfer or in cash against a receipt.
- Packing and loading: at your home, with the numbered inventory and photos, then the truck is sealed.
- Road and crossing: export clearance at Haditha, then import clearance at Omari or Amman customs.
- Delivery: unloading and assembly in your home in Jordan, and signing the handover record once the list has been checked.
The shipping agreement and how to pay
Spoken words are not enough for a shipment that crosses a border and is out of your sight for a week. So we write a simple one-page agreement that protects your right and ours and spares any dispute on delivery day. This is what it contains:
- Items covered: what is in the price and what is not, such as customs duty on new pieces.
- Quantity: the number of cartons and pieces as in the inventory.
- Dates: the loading day, the expected time, and the delivery city and address.
- Payment: a bank transfer to the establishment’s account, or cash against a receipt voucher. We agree how the sum is split between loading and delivery.
- Insurance: if you ask for it, the declared value and its premium are stated.
Speed and reliability: what we commit to and what we do not promise
Anyone who tells you your home’s furniture gets from Dammam to Amman in two days either does not know the road or is not being straight with you. Speed on this route has a limit set by the distance, the driver’s rest and the queue at the crossing. Reliability, for us, is telling you the time as it is and then keeping to it. These are our commitments:
- A fixed loading time: the day and hour are agreed and change only at your request.
- A time with a clear range: we say “3 to 5 days”, not “as fast as possible”, and tell you at once if something causes a delay.
- A price that does not rise on loading day: as long as the volume is as you showed it in the photos.
- What we do not promise: a set waiting time at the crossing at the height of summer, or a customs exemption your papers do not support.
Tracking the shipment and insuring it
The truck drives for two days through the northern desert before it reaches the border, and you are entitled to know where it is without calling every hour. So one employee, with a name and a number, looks after your shipment and sends you an update at five points: leaving Dammam, passing Hafar Al-Batin, reaching Haditha, completing clearance at Omari, and the expected hour at your door.
- Shipment number: written on the collection receipt, and with it you can ask where the shipment is at any time. The method is on the track your shipment page.
- Photos: of every piece before it is packed, and of the truck after it is loaded and sealed.
- Insurance: optional, with a premium that is a percentage of the value you write down yourself. We recommend it for appliances, cars and valuable pieces. It is explained on the cargo insurance page.
- Handover record: you count the pieces against the list and write your remark before signing, and we deal with it afterwards.
Shipping from Jordan to Dammam
The trucks return along the same road, so the service runs both ways. Our crew in Jordan collects from your address in Amman, Zarqa or Irbid, the shipment is cleared at Omari and then Haditha, and it is delivered in Dammam, Khobar or Jubail. A Jordanian arriving to work in the Eastern Province brings in his used effects on a list of contents and a work visa or a valid residence permit. A product of Jordanian origin enters the Kingdom on a certified certificate of origin.
Tips before shipping from Dammam to Jordan
- Start arranging when you receive the end-of-contract notice, not when you book the flight.
- Ask your employer for the end-of-service letter early, since it is one of the exemption papers.
- Arrange to reach Jordan a day or two ahead of the truck yourself.
- Tell the compound’s management the loading day and the truck’s plate number.
- Put the passports, certificates and house contracts in your hand luggage.
- Write on each carton its room in the home in Jordan, not its room in the home in Dammam.
How do you choose a shipping company from Dammam to Jordan?
Reviews and prices are the first things a searcher looks at, and they help but are not enough. Put these questions to whoever you call, and compare the answer with the two columns:
| Question | A reassuring answer | An answer that calls for caution |
|---|---|---|
| Which road does the truck take? | Names Hafar Al-Batin, Arar and Haditha | “Don’t worry about the road” |
| How long? | A range in days that differs between full and shared | “Two days and it’s with you” |
| What does the price include? | Items written out one by one | A single figure or a big discount with no detail |
| What about customs? | Asks about your residence and papers first | “Customs is on us” with no questions |
| Where is delivery? | Inside the home, with assembly | At a freight yard in Amman |
| Is the establishment registered? | A commercial register and stamped receipts | A mobile number and a personal account |
Common mistakes when shipping from Dammam to Jordan
- Booking in the last week of the school year, when the trucks are full.
- Assuming sea freight is cheaper, when on this route it is longer and dearer.

- Slipping new boxed appliances in among used furniture.
- Letting the shipment reach Omari while its owner is still in Dammam.

Frequently asked questions about shipping from Dammam to Jordan
How much does shipping from Dammam to Jordan cost?
A carton of belongings starts from SAR 140, a suitcase from SAR 230, a sofa set from SAR 740, one room of furniture from SAR 1,650, the furniture of a two- to three-bedroom flat from SAR 3,700, a villa’s furniture from SAR 7,800, and a saloon car from SAR 1,290. The final figure is fixed once we know the volume and the governorate of delivery. Message us on 0552803439.
How many days does a shipment need from Dammam to reach Amman?
A truck booked for you alone arrives 3 to 5 days after loading day. A shared load needs 6 to 8 days, because the truck waits for other shipments from the Eastern Province before it sets off. An air parcel from King Fahd Airport is delivered in one to 3 days.
How far is Dammam from Amman by road?
About 1,650 km. Roughly 1,500 km of that lies inside the Kingdom on the northern road: Nairiyah, then Hafar Al-Batin, then Rafha, Arar, Turaif and Qurayyat up to the Haditha crossing. After the Omari post about 155 km remain to Amman.
Does the truck pass through Riyadh on its way to Jordan?
No. Trucks from the Eastern Province head north from Nairiyah straight to Hafar Al-Batin and stay on the international northern road as far as Qurayyat. That is shorter than dropping down to Riyadh and climbing back through Qassim and Hail.
Which crossing does my shipment enter Jordan through?
Through the Saudi Haditha crossing, about 36 km north of Qurayyat, which faces the Omari border post in Jordan. The Halat Ammar and Durra crossings are far from the Eastern Province road and serve traffic from Tabuk and the west coast.
Is my furniture exempt from Jordanian customs if I return for good?
The rule in force is that a Jordanian who has lived outside the country for a year or more has his used furniture and effects exempted, provided they arrive within six months of his return and he or his agent attends the clearance. A new item in its box pays duty and 16% sales tax. We check your case with the clearing agent before loading.
Which papers should I prepare before my final exit from Dammam?
The passport showing the cancelled residence permit, the end-of-service letter from your employer or a new job contract in Jordan, a lease or title deed for the home there, and the children’s school transfer certificates where relevant. We draw up the numbered inventory ourselves on packing day.
Do you ship cars from Dammam to Jordan?
Yes, on a car carrier that follows the same road. A saloon car on a shared carrier starts from SAR 1,290, and a four-wheel-drive on a dedicated carrier from SAR 2,020. Before any booking we ask for the year of manufacture, because Jordan will not clear for registration a passenger car that is past the permitted age.
What age of imported car does Jordan allow?
The rule in force is 5 years from the year of manufacture for passenger cars and 3 years for an electric car. A car recorded in its own country as damaged, flooded or burnt is not admitted. These conditions change, so we confirm the current ones before shipping.
Is there sea freight from Dammam to Jordan?
It is not a practical option. Jordan’s only port is Aqaba on the Red Sea, and Dammam’s port is on the Arabian Gulf, so the vessel sails round the whole peninsula. A heavy commercial container is trucked to Jeddah port and then sails to Aqaba, and a 20ft container from Jeddah port starts from SAR 4,600.
How much is air freight from Dammam to Amman?
It starts from SAR 14 per kilogram, and express documents from SAR 83. The shipment leaves King Fahd International Airport and is cleared at Queen Alia International Airport, then delivered to the address in Amman within one to 3 days.
Do you collect from Khobar, Jubail and Qatif?
Yes. We collect from every district of Dammam, and from Khobar, Dhahran, Qatif, Saihat, Ras Tanura, Abqaiq and Jubail, and from Al-Ahsa by prior arrangement. Nairiyah and Hafar Al-Batin lie on the truck’s road, so their shipments are loaded on the way.
How do I pay, and is there a contract?
You pay by bank transfer or in cash against a receipt. A shipping agreement is written between us stating the items covered, the number of pieces, the loading day, and the city where the furniture is handed over. You receive the inventory and the collection receipt before the truck leaves.
Will the fridge, washing machine and air conditioner work in the home in Jordan?
The voltage is practically the same in both countries, 230 volts. The difference is the frequency: 60 Hz in Saudi Arabia and 50 in Jordan. Appliances whose label reads 50/60 work unmodified. For an old air conditioner or washing machine, check the label before you pay to ship it.
Do you ship from Jordan to Dammam?
Yes. We collect from the address in Amman, Zarqa or Irbid, clear at Omari and Haditha, and deliver in Dammam, Khobar or Jubail. The effects of someone arriving to work in the Eastern Province enter on a list of contents and a work visa or a valid residence permit.
