What is the cheapest international shipping method from Saudi Arabia for each destination?
The destination decides the cheapest method before anything else. Countries reached by a road from the Kingdom are served by truck at the lowest cost and in the shortest time. Countries separated from us by sea are served by container for volume and by aircraft for light weight. The table gives, for each region, the lowest-cost method, our approved starting price and the usual time to the consignee’s door.
| Destination | Cheapest method | Price starts from | Usual time |
|---|---|---|---|
| UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman | Shared road truck | Carton SAR 140, cubic metre SAR 550 | 1–7 days, Oman 3–10 days |
| Jordan | Shared road truck | Carton SAR 140, bedroom SAR 1,650 | 2–7 days |
| Syria, Lebanon and Iraq | Road truck, subject to the state of the crossings | Bedroom SAR 1,195 to Lebanon, SAR 1,650 to Syria and SAR 2,300 to Iraq | 4–12 days |
| Egypt | Truck crossing the Red Sea on the ferry | Carton SAR 140 | 7–15 days |
| Turkey | Shared container by sea | Cubic metre SAR 415 | About three weeks |
| Libya, Tunisia and Algeria | Shared container by sea | Cubic metre SAR 415 | 10–20 days sailing |
| Morocco | Shared container by sea | Cubic metre SAR 780, minimum SAR 1,000 | 10–22 days sailing |
| Europe and the UK | Sea for furniture, air for anything under about 240 kg | Shared furniture SAR 5,500, air kilogram SAR 23 | Sea 8–22 days sailing, air 3–6 days |
| USA | Sea for furniture, air for parcels | Shared furniture SAR 2,750, air kilogram SAR 41 | Sea 23–35 days sailing, air 5–8 days |
| Other destinations | Methods compared on request | Set on request | Stated with the quotation |
These are starting prices, not invoices, and the figure for your shipment is fixed once its volume, your city and the consignee’s city are known. A wider comparison of the three methods is on the shipping methods comparison page.
What does “cheapest international shipping company” really mean?
The cheapest is not whoever gives the smallest figure over the phone. The cheapest is whoever delivers your shipment intact to the consignee’s door for the lowest total paid by you and the consignee together. There is a gap between the two meanings: a small figure to the port can become the largest once clearance, handling and delivery are added, and a higher figure that covers all of that may be the real saving.
That is why we do not promise to be the cheapest on every shipment; nobody can keep that promise. What we commit to is showing you every method available for your destination with its price and transit time, telling you frankly when the slower method is enough for you, and writing down what the price covers and what stays outside it. After that, the decision is yours.
Who looks for the cheapest international shipping from Saudi Arabia, and what suits each?
People looking for the lowest price are not all alike, and what saves money for one may be no use to another. A resident going home has a large volume and enough time, while a shop owner has small parcels and a customer waiting. So first work out where you stand among them, then look at the method opposite.
| Who ships | What they ship | Lowest-cost choice |
|---|---|---|
| A resident leaving for good | Household furniture, appliances and cartons | A shared truck or shared container, booked early |
| A family sending to relatives | Cartons of clothes, gifts and dates | One consolidated shipment every few months |
| A student | Suitcases and books | Excess baggage on the ticket for one bag, shipping for the rest |
| An online shop | Small, frequent parcels | An agreed route rate, and road to the Gulf instead of air |
| A trader or factory | Goods on pallets | A full container once the volume nears half of one |
| An Umrah pilgrim or visitor | Purchases that outgrew the luggage | A carton by road or air, depending on the home country |
Cheapest shipping from Saudi Arabia to the Gulf states: the truck first
To the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman nothing competes with the closed truck on price. The road is short, the crossings work every day, and shared loads leave the main cities regularly. Sea freight to the Gulf from the west coast is impractical, since the ship sails round the whole Arabian Peninsula to reach what a truck reaches in two days.
| What you send to the Gulf | Price starts from |
|---|---|
| Parcel of up to 5 kg | SAR 32 |
| Medium carton | SAR 140 |
| Suitcase | SAR 230 |
| Anything above 50 kg | SAR 4.6 per kilogram |
| Cubic metre on a shared truck | SAR 550 |
| Bedroom | SAR 740 to Bahrain, SAR 920 to the UAE and Kuwait |
| Car on a carrier | SAR 830 to Bahrain, SAR 1,100 to the UAE and Qatar |
Compare that with air: a kilogram by aircraft to the Gulf starts from SAR 14, roughly three times the truck’s kilogram. So choose the aircraft to Dubai or Kuwait only for a document or a small parcel that someone is expecting tomorrow. Prices for each country and its crossing are in the article shipping from Saudi Arabia to the Gulf states.
Cheapest shipping to Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Iraq
The Levant and Iraq are road destinations too. To Jordan the truck crosses at Haditha, Halat Ammar or Durra, to Iraq at Jadidat Arar, and to Syria and Lebanon it continues through Jordan. The road to Syria and Lebanon depends on the state of the crossings, so we confirm the available route before shipping, and sea freight to Beirut may be an alternative for a large load.
| Destination | Parcels and cartons | Bedroom | Flat furniture |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jordan | Carton from SAR 140 | From SAR 1,650 | From SAR 3,700 |
| Syria | Parcels of up to 50 kg from SAR 370 | Luggage shipment from SAR 1,650 | From SAR 3,700 |
| Lebanon | Small parcel from SAR 55 | From SAR 1,195 | From SAR 3,700 |
| Iraq | Carton from SAR 140 | From SAR 2,300 | Set on request |
A trader sending goods on pallets pays per pallet in a shared load from SAR 550 to Jordan, Iraq and Kuwait. The crossings and truck types are detailed in the article land freight company in Saudi Arabia.
Shipping prices from Saudi Arabia to Egypt
Egypt is the destination where the cheapest price is asked about most, given the number of Egyptian residents in the Kingdom. The established economical method is a closed truck in which shipments from Saudi cities are consolidated; it then heads for a Red Sea port, usually Duba, where the whole truck boards the ferry and drives off at an Egyptian port for inspection and clearance. It is then unloaded at a warehouse inside Egypt and the shipments are distributed to homes by small vehicles.
| What you send to Egypt | Price starts from |
|---|---|
| Medium carton | SAR 140 |
| Large carton | SAR 185 |
| Jumbo carton | SAR 230 |
| Electrical appliance, by size | SAR 92 |
| Complete bedroom, dismantled and wrapped | SAR 1,650 |
| Furniture of a three-room flat | SAR 4,150 |
| Commercial goods | SAR 2,580 per tonne |
That is the freight charge. What Egyptian customs assess on appliances and used furniture is a separate item that changes often, so we tell you what applies at the time of your shipment and do not promise an exemption. Large loads and cars take the container route from Jeddah port. The full tables are in the article furniture shipping prices from Saudi Arabia to Egypt.
Cheapest shipping to Turkey and North Africa: the cubic metre by sea
To Turkey, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco the economical route is the sea from Jeddah Islamic Port through the Suez Canal. Anyone who cannot fill a container buys cubic metres in a shared one. A single cubic metre holds about eight to ten medium cartons, and its sea charge is close to what only fifteen to twenty-five kilograms cost by air to the same destination.
| Destination | Shared cubic metre | 20ft container | 40ft container |
|---|---|---|---|
| Turkey | From SAR 415 | From SAR 4,600 | From SAR 5,200 |
| Libya, Tunisia and Algeria | From SAR 415 | From SAR 4,600 | From SAR 5,200 |
| Morocco | From SAR 780 | From SAR 7,800 | From SAR 14,720 |
The container prices are ocean freight from Jeddah port, to which loading, clearance and delivery at both ends are added according to your shipment. Anyone shipping from Riyadh, Dammam or an inland city also has the container’s transport to the port, and that charge is set on request. Ports and services are covered in the article sea freight company in Saudi Arabia.
Cheapest shipping to Europe, the UK and the USA
On the distant destinations the rule flips for small shipments. A shared container to Europe has a minimum charge, because it involves handling at two ports, clearance and European inland transport that do not follow the volume. Someone with two or three cartons finds the aircraft cheaper than the sea, and someone with a room of furniture or more finds the sea cheaper by a wide margin.
| Destination | Sea: furniture and effects in a shared container | Sea: a whole household in a container | Air: per kilogram |
|---|---|---|---|
| European countries | From SAR 5,500 | From SAR 11,000 | From SAR 23 |
| UK | From SAR 5,500 | From SAR 11,000 | From SAR 26 |
| USA | From SAR 2,750 | 20ft container from SAR 7,800 | From SAR 41 |
| Canada | Set on request | Set on request | From SAR 32 |
The break-even point is a simple division. To Europe: SAR 5,500 divided by SAR 23 comes to about 240 kg. Anything with a chargeable weight below that is cheaper and faster by air, and anything above it belongs in the container. To the UK the point drops to about 210 kg. The continent is covered in the article shipping from Saudi Arabia to Europe.
A shared container and a shared truck from Saudi Arabia at a lower cost
The shared service is the root of every low price in international shipping. Instead of hiring a whole vehicle and paying for empty space, your belongings are combined with those of other senders heading for the same country, and each pays for what they occupy. On the road it is called a shared load, at sea a shared container or part-load, and the idea is the same.

| Point of comparison | Shared | Dedicated (full truck or container) |
|---|---|---|
| You pay for | The volume of your shipment by cubic metre or carton | The whole vehicle, even if you do not fill it |
| Suits | Cartons, a room or two, a few pallets | A whole household, goods filling more than half the vehicle |
| Departure day | When the load is complete | The day of loading |
| Handling | Passes through a consolidation warehouse at both ends | One loading and one unloading |
| Time | Longer by a day to a few days | The shortest |
| Packing needed | Sturdier, because the shipment is moved more than once | Ordinary, done properly |
The shared truck serves the Gulf, Jordan and the other road destinations, and the shared container serves small shipments to distant ports. When do you leave the shared service? When your volume nears half the vehicle. At that point the two prices converge, and with a dedicated vehicle you gain a fixed date and less handling. A 20ft container holds about 28 cubic metres of well-stowed furniture, so anyone reaching 12 or 13 cubic metres to Turkey should ask for both prices. Container dimensions and capacities are on the container sizes page.
Sea or land freight from Saudi Arabia instead of air when time allows
The aircraft sells you time. If you have time, you are paying for something you do not need. Most of those who pay for air without needing it are people who put off booking until only days remained before they travelled. Anyone who books two weeks ahead for the Gulf, or six weeks ahead for Turkey and Europe, is free to choose the cheapest.

The rule we work by takes three lines: sea for large shipments going overseas, road for the Gulf and the Levant, and air for the urgent only. The table applies it to one shipment, twenty cartons measuring two cubic metres and weighing 400 kg, so the difference shows in figures.
| Destination | By air | By road or sea | Difference in time |
|---|---|---|---|
| A Gulf country | From SAR 5,600, at SAR 14 per kilogram | From SAR 1,100, at SAR 550 per cubic metre by road | Two to 4 more days |
| Turkey | From SAR 6,800, at SAR 17 per kilogram | From SAR 830, at SAR 415 per cubic metre by sea | About two and a half more weeks |
| Morocco | From SAR 11,200, at SAR 28 per kilogram | From SAR 1,560, at SAR 780 per cubic metre by sea | Three to five more weeks |
The figures are transport charges from which the quotation starts, and sea freight has collection, clearance and delivery added as they apply to your shipment. Even so, the difference remains several-fold. If something among your belongings is needed the moment you arrive, send it alone by air and leave the rest to the truck or the container. Transit times for each route are on the transit times page.
Smart packing that reduces shipment volume from Saudi Arabia
On shared services you pay for volume, and by air you pay for the greater of weight and volume. Every centimetre you trim from your shipment comes straight off the bill. Smart packing does not mean less packing; it means packing that leaves no air for you to pay for. These are the methods with the most effect.

- Dismantle the large pieces: a bed, wardrobe or table is taken down to panels stacked flat, cutting its volume to a third or less.
- Fill the gaps inside the cartons: a half-empty carton is charged as a full one, and it crushes under others and damages its contents. Fill it with clothes or towels.
- Use the hollows of the furniture: bedside drawers and the inside of a washing machine or fridge hold light, wrapped items.
- Compress the bulky: blankets, duvets and pillows in vacuum bags take half their space.
- Use one carton size: equal cartons stack without gaps, while mixed sizes leave air between them that is charged to you.
- Leave what is not worth it: an item that costs less at the destination than its freight is sold here, not shipped.
The clearest example is the bedroom: shipped assembled, it takes twice the space it takes dismantled, or more, because an upright wardrobe and a standing bed trap air that nothing can be stacked on. The result after dismantling: a smaller volume and a lower cost. How to pack each piece is in the article packing furniture for a move and on the packing guide page.
When air freight from Saudi Arabia is worth its cost
The aircraft costs more per kilogram, but it does not always cost more per shipment. There are cases where air really is the economical choice, and cases where the price of delay is higher than the difference in freight. International air freight leaves mostly from the airports of Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, and from Madinah airport for a limited number of destinations.

- For documents and urgent parcels: a contract, certificate, passport or a gift for an occasion close at hand. An express document envelope starts from SAR 83.
- For small, valuable shipments: a phone, a watch or a precision spare part, whose share of the air charge is small and for which weeks on the road are a risk.
- For anything below the sea minimum: two cartons to Europe or the USA go by air for less than the lowest charge for a shared container.
- For anything whose delay costs money: a part that stops a factory, seasonal goods, or medicine.
| Destination | Air kilogram starts from | Time to the door |
|---|---|---|
| Gulf states | SAR 14 | 1–3 days |
| Jordan and Lebanon | SAR 14 for large weights | 1–4 days |
| Turkey | SAR 17 from 300 kg, and a parcel of up to 5 kg from SAR 110 | 2–5 days |
| European countries | SAR 23 | 3–6 days |
| UK | SAR 26 | 3–6 days |
| Morocco, Libya and North Africa | SAR 28 | 3–8 days |
| Canada | SAR 32 | 5–8 days |
| USA | SAR 41, and a small parcel or documents from SAR 55 | 5–8 days |
Even by air there is a cheaper way and a dearer way: consolidated air cargo costs less per kilogram than the express door-to-door service, and arrives one to three days after it. The calculation by volumetric weight and weight bands is explained in the article air freight price per kilo from Saudi Arabia, and the whole service in the article air freight from Saudi Arabia.
What makes a quotation look cheap but cost more?
Most people who regretted “the cheapest” were not misled by the figure itself, but by what the figure left unsaid. An incomplete quotation always looks smaller than a complete one. These are the items most often left out, with the question that exposes each before you pay.
| What was left out of the price | How it comes back to you | The question that exposes it |
|---|---|---|
| Delivery from the port or crossing to the home | The consignee pays it there at a price they cannot negotiate | Is the price to the door or to the port? |
| Clearance in the destination country | A broker’s fee and days of waiting | Who clears it there, and who pays the fee? |
| Destination port and handling charges | A separate invoice from the shipping line’s agent | Are local charges at destination included? |
| Packing, dismantling and loading | Charged to you per piece on collection day | Does the figure include packing and labour? |
| A volume estimated below the real one | “The shipment turned out bigger” after loading | What volume is the price based on, and what if it grows? |
| Scale weight instead of volumetric weight by air | A difference demanded at the airport | Is the price on chargeable weight? |
| Storage charges | A daily fee if clearance or collection is late | How long is the free collection period? |
The rule: do not compare a figure with a figure, compare a list with a list. We write our quotation as line items so that you can see what went into it, and whatever is not included is named. What “to the door” means and covers is in the article door-to-door shipping company.
Ten ways to cut the cost of international shipping from Saudi Arabia
Once the right method is chosen, small details remain, and each one takes something off. They are listed here from the greatest effect to the least, and all of them are in your hands before the driver arrives.
- Choose the method by destination, not by habit: road for the neighbours, sea for overseas, air for the light and urgent.
- Book early: time is what opens the shared service to you, and the lack of it pushes you onto the aircraft or a dedicated truck.
- Ask for the shared service as long as your volume is under half the vehicle.
- Shrink the volume: dismantle, stack and fill the cartons as in the packing section.
- Put your shipments into one loading: each separate shipment pays its own minimum charge and declaration.
- Travel lighter: anything not worth its freight is sold or given away before you leave.
- Keep clear of the peak seasons: before the Eids, at the end of the school year and after Hajj, trucks and flights fill up and rates rise.
- Have your papers complete: a day’s delay at the port or crossing can cost more in storage than you saved on the price.
- Take a few cartons to the warehouse yourself if it is near you, and the collection charge drops out.
- Ask for more than one method in the same quotation: road and air, or sea and air, then choose with the difference in front of you.
The factors behind the price that are out of your hands, such as fuel prices and shipping-line rates, are explained on the pricing factors page. You can work out your shipment’s volume before calling with the CBM calculator.
When should you not choose the cheapest?
Saving is a legitimate aim, but it is not the only one. On some shipments the gap between the cheap and the suitable is a small sum, while the price of a mistake is large. These are the situations in which we advise our customers to pay a little more, and we tell them so before booking.
| Situation | Why the cheapest does not fit | The more suitable choice |
|---|---|---|
| Fine furniture, glass, marble and antiques | A shared load is moved more than once | A dedicated truck or container, or wooden crates |
| A date that cannot move: taking over a home, starting a course, opening an exhibition | The shared service waits for the load to fill | Dedicated with a fixed loading date, or air |
| Devices and high-value goods | Weeks at sea with several handlings | Air with insurance on the value |
| Medicines and foods affected by heat | An ordinary truck or container has no cooling | Refrigerated transport or air, priced on request |
| A shipment needing complex clearance | The cheapest offer includes no broker at destination | A door-to-door service that includes clearance |
Prices circulating in the market
Prices circulating in the market: only a little of what international shipping costs is published, and most guides refer the reader to rate calculators or to a phone call. What we found stated is that an international parcel through the express parcel networks starts from about SAR 250, and that a kilogram of international air freight ranges in shipping guides between roughly SAR 15 and SAR 30 with no destination specified, with about SAR 45 mentioned for the USA route. Customs charges in destination countries are put at between half a per cent and 15 per cent of the shipment’s value, depending on the item and the country. The same guides advise what we advise: compare more than one offer, consolidate parcels, reduce the volume, and drop the urgent service when time allows. We found no published price for a carton by road or a cubic metre by sea from the Kingdom to measure against, so the prices on this page are the ones approved in our own route articles.
Cheapest furniture shipping from Saudi Arabia abroad
Furniture is the bulkiest thing shipped, so the effect of the right choice shows in it more than anywhere else. Furniture shipping is cheapest when the pieces are dismantled and stacked in a shared load to a road destination, and dearest when they are sent assembled in a dedicated vehicle that is half empty. A whole household is a different sum: there, the dedicated vehicle is both cheaper and safer.
Before asking the price, ask yourself about each piece: is it worth it? A bedroom starts from SAR 920 to the UAE and Kuwait and SAR 1,650 to Jordan and Egypt, so if a similar used one costs about that in the destination country, selling it here is cheaper. People returning to their own countries are, in most states, entitled to a customs exemption on their used furniture under conditions that change, and we confirm what applies before shipping. Furniture tables for each country are in the article international furniture shipping company from Saudi Arabia.
Cheapest shipping for parcels and personal effects
A small parcel is governed by the minimum charge, not the price per kilogram. Every shipment, however small, needs collection, a waybill, a declaration and delivery, and that is a fixed cost. The cheapest parcel is therefore the one that travels with others: a parcel to the Gulf on the shared truck from SAR 32 for up to 5 kg, and a parcel to Turkey or Europe by air from SAR 110 for up to 5 kg.
Anyone who sends to family regularly saves a good deal by putting it all into one large carton every two months instead of a small parcel every two weeks. A traveller with too many bags compares buying an excess-baggage piece with the ticket against shipping the bag: one bag with the traveller is usually cheaper, and beyond that shipping is cheaper. The service is explained on the parcel shipping page.
The cheapest way to ship cars from Saudi Arabia
A car is shipped in three ways whose prices differ widely. To the road destinations it is carried on an open or enclosed car carrier. Overseas it is driven uncovered onto the deck of a RoRo vessel, or lashed inside a container. The aircraft is only for a luxury car with a deadline.
| Method | Destinations | Price starts from |
|---|---|---|
| Road car carrier | Bahrain | SAR 830 |
| Road car carrier | UAE and Qatar | SAR 1,100 |
| Road car carrier | Jordan and Kuwait | SAR 1,290 to Jordan, SAR 1,380 to Kuwait |
| RoRo vessel, saloon car | Ports served by the RoRo service | SAR 2,800 |
| Dedicated or shared container, and air freight | By destination | Set on request |
RoRo is usually cheaper than a container, but it accepts no belongings inside the car. A container shared with another car is a middle course. Before comparing prices, check the destination country’s conditions on the car’s age, specification and tax, since the tax there may be greater than the whole freight. Details are in the article car shipping from Saudi Arabia and on the car shipping page.
Commercial goods and refrigerated shipping: where does the trader save?
A trader counts freight as a share of each item’s cost. The biggest saving lies not in haggling with the carrier but in three decisions: stacking the goods on standard-size pallets so as not to pay for empty space, shipping a full container once the volume nears half of one, and agreeing with the buyer a clear delivery term that states who pays the duties. A certificate of origin for a Saudi product removes the customs duty in the Gulf states under the rules in force, a saving for the customer that strengthens the trader’s position on price.
Goods that need cooling, such as foods and medicines, are not something to buy on price alone. They travel in a refrigerated truck or a reefer container, or by air in insulated packaging, and the charge is set on request according to the temperature required and the route. Containers and their prices from Jeddah port are in the article container shipping prices from Jeddah, and the service is on the commercial shipping page.
Customs and documents: the part that does not show in the shipping price
The shipping price is a transport charge. What the destination customs take is calculated on the value and type of the goods, and is normally paid by the consignee. Anyone who costs a shipment without this item has costed half of it. The rules differ and change, so we state briefly what is in force and confirm what applies to your shipment before booking.
| Destination | What is in force, briefly | What saves you money |
|---|---|---|
| Gulf states | A unified customs duty of 5% in principle, and VAT that differs between states | A certificate of origin for a Gulf product, and a clear list for used effects |
| Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and North Africa | Exemptions for returnees under conditions, and duties on new appliances | The returnee’s file complete before the shipment arrives |
| Turkey | A full declaration for every parcel, and residence conditions for a mover’s furniture | A detailed list of the items and their serial numbers |
| EU countries and the UK | VAT and duty by item, and transfer-of-residence relief under conditions | Applying for the relief before shipping, not after |
| USA | The rules for low-value parcels have changed | Checking what applies before sending gifts or shop orders |
The documents themselves are a way to save: an accurate contents list with true values, a copy of the ID or residence permit and the consignee’s full details take the shipment through without a day’s delay. What cannot be shipped at all is on the prohibited items page, the papers are explained on the required documents page, and the clearance service is on the customs clearance page.
Insurance and tracking: is dropping them a saving?
Insurance is optional, and dropping it takes a small sum off the bill. But the carrier’s liability in every method is limited to an amount per weight or per piece, not to the value of what you ship. Cartons of clothes and books usually need no insurance, while for devices, valuable furniture and commercial goods the insurance is the real saving on the day damage occurs. Its premium is a percentage of the declared value, set on request.
Tracking is not an item to drop, because it is part of the service itself. You receive the shipment number and its stages on WhatsApp: collection, departure, crossing the border or the vessel sailing or the flight leaving, then delivery. Cover is detailed on the cargo insurance page, and how to follow a shipment on the shipment tracking page.
Does the price change with your city in the Kingdom?
Yes, because each method has a starting point. The truck heads for a border crossing, the container for a port and the air parcel for an airport. The closer your city is to the right starting point for your destination, the less inland transport there is. We serve every city in the Kingdom, and the table shows what lies closest to each region.
| Region | Closest to it | Cheapest destinations from it |
|---|---|---|
| Riyadh, Al-Kharj and Qassim | The Gulf crossings, King Khalid Airport and the dry port | The Gulf, Jordan and Iraq by road |
| Dammam, Khobar, Jubail and Al-Ahsa | King Fahd Causeway, Batha, Salwa and Khafji, and Dammam port | Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE and Kuwait |

Steps to get the lowest price for your shipment
- Write a list of what you will ship, and strike out anything not worth its freight.
- Measure the large pieces and count the cartons, or photograph the items where they stand.
- Send to 0552803439 the list, the photos, your city, the consignee’s city and the latest arrival date you can accept.
- You receive the methods available for your destination, each with its price, its transit time and what its price covers.
- Choose the method, we agree the collection day, and you receive the booking confirmation with the terms and the payment method.
- The team arrives, dismantles and packs what we agreed, numbers the pieces, writes the list and hands you a receipt.
- The shipment moves with the shared load or in its own vehicle, and you follow it by its number.
- It is cleared in the destination country and handed to the consignee against the list, and we tell you delivery is complete.
How do you compare cheap international shipping companies?
When you collect three quotations, do not start by looking at the total. Start with what each quotation says about itself: an office that explains its price knows its work, and one that throws out a figure and hurries you does not want you to ask. These signs separate the honest cheap from the costly cheap.
| What you look at | Honest cheap | Costly cheap |
|---|---|---|
| How the price is reached | Asks for the list and measurements, then prices | Prices from the words “a room and a few cartons” |
| Limits of the service | Names the delivery point: door, warehouse or port | “We will get it there”, with nothing specified |
| Method proposed | Offers a cheaper alternative if there is one | Sells only what it has |
| Customs | Says destination duty is outside the price and estimates it | Promises there will be no charges |
| Legal standing | Commercial registration and a receipt in the establishment’s name | A middleman with no address and a transfer to a personal account |
| Advance payment | Its terms are written in the booking confirmation | The full amount before you have seen anyone |
Common mistakes that make cheap shipping expensive
- Choosing the smallest figure without asking about the delivery point, then paying the difference twice over in the destination country.
- Putting off the booking until the last week, when only the aircraft or a dedicated truck is left.
- Shipping furniture assembled and cartons half empty, and paying freight on air.
- Understating the volume to get a lower price, followed by a dispute on loading day.
- Declaring an untrue value to reduce the duty, so the shipment is held and storage charges pile up.
- Hiding a prohibited item among the belongings, so the whole load is held up and its owner bears the cost.
- Shipping items worth less in the destination country than the cost of moving them.

Frequently asked questions about the cheapest international shipping company in Saudi Arabia
Which is the cheapest international shipping company in Saudi Arabia?
No single company is the cheapest for every shipment. The cheapest is whoever puts your shipment on the method that suits its destination and weight: a shared truck to the Gulf and Jordan, a shared container to Turkey and North Africa, and an aircraft for a light parcel. With us a carton by road starts from SAR 140, a cubic metre by sea from SAR 415 and a kilogram by air from SAR 14, and we compare the three methods for you before you book.
What is the cheapest way to ship internationally from Saudi Arabia?
It depends on the destination. To the Gulf states, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Iraq, the shared road truck costs least. To Egypt it is the truck on the ferry. To Turkey, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco it is the cubic metre in a shared container. To Europe and the USA it is the container for furniture and large volumes, and the aircraft for anything under roughly two hundred kilograms, because a shared container carries a minimum charge.
How much does it cost to send a carton from Saudi Arabia to a Gulf country?
A medium carton on a shared truck starts from SAR 140 to the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman, a parcel of up to 5 kg from SAR 32 and a suitcase from SAR 230. If there are many cartons, charging by the cubic metre is cheaper, starting from SAR 550. The parcel arrives in one to 6 days depending on your city and the border crossing.
Is sea freight always cheaper than air?
No. Sea is cheaper for large volumes, but a shared container has a minimum charge. To Europe shared sea freight starts from SAR 5,500 and a kilogram by air from SAR 23, so any shipment with a chargeable weight under about 240 kg goes by air for less money and in less time. To Turkey a cubic metre by sea starts from SAR 415, so sea wins much earlier.
What is the price of a cubic metre by sea from Saudi Arabia?
A cubic metre in a shared container starts from SAR 415 to Turkey, Libya, Tunisia and Algeria, and from SAR 780 to Morocco with a minimum of SAR 1,000 per shipment. To Europe and the UK, shared furniture is priced per shipment rather than per metre and starts from SAR 5,500. Inland transport from your city to the port is set on request.
How do I ship abroad cheaply as an individual rather than a company?
Put your belongings into one shipment, pack them in full cartons of a single size, choose the shared service rather than a dedicated one, and book at least two weeks ahead so that you are not forced onto the aircraft. Then ask for the price with measurements, not with a description. Those four steps bring what an individual pays close to what companies pay for the same volume.
Why does the price for the same shipment vary so much between companies?
Because the figures rarely describe the same thing. A price to the port is not a price to the door, a price without packing or clearance is not one that includes them, and a price on scale weight changes once the volume is measured. Ask each office to write down what its figure covers, then compare the totals as far as the consignee’s door.
Does the cheapest price mean a worse service?
Not necessarily. A shared truck is cheaper than a dedicated one because you pay only for your own space, not because the service is poorer. What calls for caution is a price far below the market for no visible reason: usually the clearance, delivery or packing has been taken out of it, or it was built on a smaller volume than the real one, and the difference comes back at collection.
Which costs do not appear in the shipping price?
The destination country’s customs duty and tax, which are charged on the value of the goods, not their weight. Then port and handling charges there, the customs broker’s fee, storage charges if collection is delayed, delivery to a city far from the port, and the volumetric weight difference in air freight. Ask about each one by name before booking.
How long do the cheap methods take compared with air?
A truck to the Gulf takes one to 6 days, to Jordan two to 7 days and to Egypt 7 to 15 days. A container to Turkey takes about three weeks door to door, and to Europe and North Africa between three and six weeks depending on the port. An aircraft takes one to 3 days to the Gulf and 3 to 6 days to Europe.
Can I ship my car for less than driving or selling it?
To the Gulf states a road carrier starts from SAR 830 to Bahrain and from SAR 1,100 to the UAE and Qatar, which is close to the cost of fuel, overnight stops and wear for anyone driving it. By sea, a RoRo vessel starts from SAR 2,800 for a saloon car. Before the price, check that the destination country accepts the car’s age and specification, because that is what decides whether it is worth doing.
Do you offer a discount for quantity or regular shipping?
The price falls with volume by its nature: one carton is priced per carton, twenty cartons are priced per cubic metre, and a load that fills a truck or a container is priced for the whole vehicle. For shops and companies that ship regularly we set a rate for the route once the monthly quantity is known, and it is written in the booking confirmation.
Can I split the shipment into batches to ease the cost?
Splitting a shipment raises the cost rather than lowering it, because every batch pays its own minimum charge, collection and customs declaration. The cheaper course is to put everything into one loading. The payment method and its dates are stated in the booking confirmation you receive before collection.
Is shipping from a small town dearer than from Riyadh and Jeddah?
Inland transport to the consolidation warehouse, port or airport is added, and its charge is set on request according to distance and volume. You can reduce it by letting your shipment wait for the day the collection vehicle passes through your town, or by taking it to the nearest warehouse yourself if it is only a few cartons.
