What goes by air to Turkey?

Turkish customs on air shipments

No exemption for small parcels: since February 2026 Turkey has abolished the exemption and the simplified procedure for low-value parcels. Every shipment is cleared on an ordinary customs declaration whatever its value, with customs duty and VAT.
Weight of a personal parcel: no more than 30 kg. Anything above is treated as a commercial shipment, through a broker.
The word “gift” does not exempt: a gift is assessed on its value like anything else.
Medicines: with a prescription and in a personal quantity, at a flat rate.
Relocation effects: a foreigner moving there to live, and a returning Turk, have their used furniture and belongings exempted, on conditions, on an application made within a set period of their entry.
The invoice: every shipment has an invoice or statement of value with a precise description. A general description is the first cause of a hold.
The consignee’s number: a Turkish ID number or foreigner’s number, and a Turkish mobile number.

What is shipped: clothing and fabrics, furnishings and carpets, accessories, spare parts and shop purchases.
Consolidation: we collect from more than one supplier or shop in Istanbul and ship as one consignment.
Time: 3 to 5 days to Jeddah.
Saudi customs: duty by type of goods, and 15% VAT.
Conformity: commercial goods subject to technical regulations are registered on the Saber platform before shipping.
For quantities: anything over half a tonne is compared with sea from Mersin, which is far cheaper.

Double-walled cartons: the shipment is handled and stacked on pallets.
The fragile: foam and corner guards, and a “fragile” mark.
Permitted liquids: sealed tight, with an inner bag and absorbent material.
Dates: in sealed boxes, as temperature and pressure change.
The label: the consignee’s name, address and mobile on every package.
