Who needs international shipping services from Jeddah?
Jeddah is the Kingdom’s first port on the Red Sea and its busiest airport, and it is home to residents from every country. So the services here are not for one kind of customer, and each kind has its service:
| Who | What they need | The service |
|---|---|---|
| A resident leaving on final exit | Moving the home to their country | Furniture shipping, by sea or land, with dismantling and packing |
| A car owner | Exporting it to another country | Car shipping by RoRo, container or carrier |
| A family sending to relatives | Cartons, gifts and appliances | Parcel shipping, by air or shared land load |
| A trader or an exporter | Goods for a buyer abroad | Commercial shipping with documents and clearance |
| An importer | Goods from a supplier abroad | Collection, shipping, clearance in Jeddah and delivery |
| A scholarship student | Belongings and books | Air, or part-load sea |
Table of international shipping services from Jeddah

| Land freight | The Gulf, the Levant and Egypt | The truck or cubic metre | Land freight |
| Car shipping | Ordinary and luxury cars | The car | Car shipping |
| Furniture shipping | Movers and returnees | The cubic metre or container | Furniture shipping |

Cost of international shipping services from Jeddah
Each service has its pricing unit. The following figures are starting prices from Jeddah:
| Service | Example | Price starts from |
|---|---|---|
| Parcels and cartons by land | A carton to the Gulf or Egypt | SAR 140 |
| Air freight | Nearby destinations and large weights | SAR 14 per kilogram |
| Air freight to Europe | By chargeable weight | SAR 23 per kilogram |
| Furniture by land | A bedroom to Kuwait | SAR 920 |
| Furniture by land | A small flat’s furniture to Jordan or Syria | SAR 3,700 |
| A car by land | To Kuwait or Jordan | SAR 2,300 |
| A car by sea | A saloon by RoRo | SAR 2,800 |
| A 20ft container | Red Sea and eastern Mediterranean ports | SAR 4,600 |
| Furniture by sea to Europe | Part load | SAR 5,500 |
Send what you are shipping and the destination to 0552803439, and the price with the method, the duration and what it covers reaches you the same day.
What determines the price?
| Factor | Its effect |
|---|---|
| The method | Sea is cheapest for bulk, land for neighbours, and air the dearest per kilogram |
| The destination | Aqaba is not Rotterdam, and Kuwait is not Muscat |
| Volume or weight | Work it out with the CBM calculator |
| Scope of service | To the port only, or through to the consignee’s door |
| Supporting services | Packing, storage and insurance are separate items |
How do you lower the cost?
- Choose the method by volume and date together: what is not urgent and is bulky goes by sea.
- Compare like with like: an offer that covers clearance and delivery is not comparable with one to the port.
- Gather your purchases into one shipment: we store them until it is complete.
- Share the container or truck for anything under half of it.
- Prepare the documents early: delay at the port is charged by the day.
Sea freight from Jeddah Islamic Port
Jeddah Islamic Port is the largest port on the Red Sea, on the shipping lane between Asia and Europe. It offers three ways:
| Method | How it works | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Full container | A 20ft or 40ft container for you alone | A home’s furniture or large goods |
| Part load | You share the container and pay for your shipment’s volume | Anything under 15 cubic metres |
| RoRo | The car is driven into the ship | A running car, for which it is cheapest |
The time to Europe is 18 to 40 days, to East Asia 25 to 40, and to the Americas 35 to 55, door to door. Container sizes are on the container sizes page, and details are in the article on international sea freight from Jeddah.
Air freight from King Abdulaziz Airport

| Region | Door-to-door duration |
|---|---|
| The Gulf | 1–3 days |
| Europe and Asia | 3–6 days |
| The Americas | 5–8 days |
- Pricing: on chargeable weight, the greater of actual and volumetric. Work it out with the volumetric weight calculator.
- Price: starts from SAR 14 per kilogram, and falls as the weight rises.
- Best for: parcels, documents, samples and spare parts, and students’ urgent belongings.
- Restrictions: stricter than sea. Batteries, perfumes and liquids are subject to the carrier’s conditions.
Details and worked examples are in the article on the air freight office in Jeddah, and the very urgent in the article on express international shipping.
Land freight from Jeddah
The Gulf, the Levant and Egypt are served by trucks, not ships:
| Destination | Crossing | Duration by full truck |
|---|---|---|
| The UAE | Al Batha | 4–6 days |
| Kuwait | Al Ruqi or Khafji | 3–5 days |
| Qatar and Bahrain | Salwa, and King Fahd Causeway | 3–5 days |
| Oman | The Empty Quarter, or via the UAE | 5–8 days |
| Jordan | Halat Ammar | 3–5 days |
| Syria and Lebanon | Through Jordan | 5–10 days |
| Iraq | Jadidat Arar | 5–8 days |
| Egypt | Duba, then the ferry | 6–10 days |
A shared load adds days while the truck fills. Gulf details are in the article on shipping from Saudi Arabia to the Gulf states.
Shipping cars, furniture and parcels
| What you ship | How | What it needs |
|---|---|---|
| Cars | RoRo or container by sea, a carrier by land, and an air pallet for luxury cars | An export certificate from the Traffic Department |
| Furniture | Dismantling, packing and numbering at your home, and delivery and assembly in the destination country | A numbered contents list |
| Parcels | From a single carton, mostly by air | The consignee’s name, address and mobile |
| Goods | Full containers or pallets | An invoice, a packing list and a certificate of origin |
| Equipment and yachts | Open-top containers, flat racks and dedicated cradles | The dimensions and weight |
Shipping a car by sea starts from SAR 2,800. Details are in the article on car shipping from Saudi Arabia and the article on sea car shipping from Jeddah.
Packing and preparation

Packing for international shipping is not packing for a move within the city. The shipment is handled several times, spends weeks in a container where heat and humidity change, and is opened for inspection.
| Item | Packing method |
|---|---|
| Furniture | Blankets, stretch wrap and reinforced cardboard on the corners |
| Glass, screens and ornaments | Foam, then a wooden crate |
| Kitchenware and books | Double-wall cartons, with heavy items in small cartons |
| Clothes and upholstery | Sealed bags against moisture |
| Appliances | Their original boxes if available, or foam and reinforced cardboard |
- Wooden crates: of heat-treated wood with the ISPM 15 stamp, which most countries require.
- Securing inside the container: straps and beams that prevent movement at sea.
- Numbering and inventory: every package with its number, and a signed list that is presented to customs.
Details are on the packing and lashing and packing guide pages.
Customs clearance

| Stage | What happens |
|---|---|
| Advance review | We review your documents before the shipment moves, since most delay comes from a missing paper |
| Export | The export declaration, and release of the shipment at the port, airport or crossing |
| Cars | The export certificate from the Traffic Department after paying the fines and surrendering the plates |
| The destination country | We handle it in the door-to-door service, and review the exemptions before shipping |
The furniture of someone returning to their country is exempt in many countries under conditions, and new items in their boxes pay duty everywhere. We tell you what applies to your destination before you ship. Details are on the customs clearance page.
Required documents
| Type of shipment | Documents |
|---|---|
| Belongings and furniture | The ID or residence permit and the passport, a contents list, and the final exit visa for someone leaving |
| A car | The registration, the export certificate, and the owner’s ID |
| Parcels | The sender’s ID, the consignee’s details, and a description of the contents and their value |
| Commercial goods | An invoice, a packing list, a certificate of origin, and a commercial registration |
The explanation is on the required documents page, and what cannot be shipped is on the prohibited items page.
Storage and insurance

- Storage: a secured warehouse with an inventory for each customer, for those travelling before the shipping date, or gathering purchases from more than one supplier.
- Consolidation: we collect from several suppliers and ship in one container.
- Insurance: optional, a percentage of the shipment’s value, covering damage and loss from collection to delivery.
- The Home Safe guarantee: the safety of furniture from breakage and scratches during our work.
Details are on the storage service and cargo insurance pages.

- Household packing for a sea voyage.
- Shipping without asking about customs in the destination country.
- A vague contents list.
- Shipping new items in their boxes among used belongings.
