Furniture moving from Riyadh to Taif is a road journey of about 780 km that starts on the Riyadh plain and ends in a city roughly 1,700 metres above sea level. Home Safe handles it door to door: dismantling and packing at your home in Riyadh, a closed truck on the motorway, then unloading and assembly at your home in Taif. A dedicated truck delivers in 1–2 days and a shared one in 3–6 days. A carton up to 20 kg starts from SAR 87, dismantling and refitting a bedroom from SAR 275, and the charge for a full household is set on request. To book: 0552803439.

How far is the road and how long does furniture moving from Riyadh to Taif take?
The two cities are about 750 to 800 km apart depending on the districts, and with a dedicated truck your furniture usually arrives the day after loading. The crew dismantles, packs and loads during the day in Riyadh, the truck leaves in the evening or at dawn, and it reaches Taif after 10 to 12 hours of driving and stops. Unloading and assembly begin the same day if it arrives early.
The key figures of the line are gathered in one table. They are approximate, because the starting point in Riyadh may be in its east or its west, and the difference between them is a full hour inside the city:
| Item | Approximate figure |
|---|---|
| Distance between the two cities | About 750–800 km |
| Private car driving time | 7–8 hours |
| Loaded truck driving time | 10–12 hours including stops |
| Difference in altitude | From about 600 metres in Riyadh to about 1,700 metres in Taif |
| Delivery by dedicated truck | 1–2 days door to door |
| Delivery by shared load | 3–6 days |
| Flight between the two airports | About an hour and a half |
What does the service include, and how is it priced before booking?
The service is a complete move, not just the hire of a vehicle. It starts with a survey of the furniture and ends when you sit on your sofa in Taif. Each item in it can be taken or left: if you dismantle your own furniture you do not pay for dismantling, and if you have your own cartons you do not pay for cartons.
- Survey: by photos and video on WhatsApp, or by a home visit when there is a lot of furniture or unusual pieces.
- Dismantling: wardrobes, beds, tables, bookcases and curtains, plus the kitchen and air conditioners on request.
- Packing: materials we bring with us, and cartons for clothes, books and kitchenware.
- Loading and lashing: a closed box, tension straps and blankets between the rows.
- The road: a driver who knows the Riyadh–Taif line, with a message on departure and on arrival.
- Unloading and assembly: into the rooms, not to the building door, with the packing waste taken away.
Pricing comes before everything else. You send photos of every room from two angles and state the floor and the lift in both homes; we calculate the volume of the load in cubic metres and choose the truck size. A visit helps for villas and for homes with a fitted kitchen or built-in wardrobes, because a photo does not show how they are fixed. We write the price out in detail: the transport charge, dismantling and assembly, packing materials, and any hoist or extra small vehicle.
Who moves from Riyadh to Taif, and what do they move?
The line between the capital and Taif is busy in both directions, but for varied reasons. Each reason brings a different volume and a different method, so the furniture of a villa should not be handled like purchases from a showroom:
| Customer | What they usually move | What suits them |
|---|---|---|
| Employee or serviceman transferred to Taif | The full furniture of a flat or villa with the appliances | Dedicated truck with dismantling and assembly |
| Retiree returning to his home city | An old house with heavy pieces and keepsakes | Survey by visit and full packing |
| Family furnishing a summer home in Taif | Bedrooms, a sitting room and kitchen appliances | Shared load or a dedicated light truck, by volume |
| Buyer of new furniture from Riyadh showrooms | Pieces in their cartons from the showroom or factory | Collection from the showroom and assembly in Taif |
| Student or single employee | Cartons, suitcases, a bed and a desk | Shared load priced by the piece |
| Business opening a branch | Desks, shelving, equipment and files | Move outside working hours |
Offices and shops have their own arrangement: desks are numbered to the plan of the new branch, files travel in cartons sealed with signed tape, and equipment is loaded last so that it comes off first. We prefer to load them on Thursday evening so that they arrive while the branch is closed, and the staff start their week with their desks in place.
Dismantling and packing the furniture at your home in Riyadh
Packing that is enough for a trip across Riyadh is not enough for the Taif road. A piece stays in the box for at least half a day, shakes with every bridge joint and bump, and then meets a change of temperature and humidity as it climbs to a cooler city. Packing here is therefore two layers: one that protects the surface from scratches and one that absorbs shock.
The crew works room by room, and does not move to the next until the pieces of the first are numbered and written on the list. This is what happens in each room:
| Room | What is dismantled | How it is packed |
|---|---|---|
| Bedroom | The bed, the wardrobe, the dressing table and its mirror | Wooden panels in blankets, the mirror in corrugated board with foam corners, the mattress in a sealed bag |
| Sitting room and lounge | Sofa legs where they come off, coffee tables and the bookcase | Sofas in stretch film over a blanket, marble and glass tops upright in a wooden frame |
| Dining room | The table legs and top, and the glass doors of the sideboard | Chairs nested in pairs with felt between them, crockery in cartons with dividers |
| Kitchen | Wall and base units and the worktop, on request | Each unit numbered with its position on the wall, plates standing rather than flat |
| Children’s rooms and study | Bunk beds, desks and shelving | Books in small cartons so that they are not too heavy to carry, toys in bags inside cartons |
Dismantling and refitting a bedroom starts from SAR 275, and dismantling a kitchen from SAR 640. If you want to pack some of your belongings yourself before the crew arrives, the method for each item is in the article packing furniture for a move and in the packing guide.
Preparing and packing the home appliances at home in Riyadh before the move to Taif

Appliances are what suffers most in a move between cities, and the damage shows not at unloading but the first time they are switched on. The reason is that they contain suspended or moving parts: the washing-machine drum on its springs, the fridge compressor on its rubber mounts, the oven shelves in their runners. Preparation therefore comes before packing, and it is what takes the crew longest in the kitchen.
| Appliance | Preparation before loading | Position in the truck |
|---|---|---|
| Automatic washing machine | Fixing the drum with the transit bolts or with foam padding through the door, and draining the hoses and filter | Upright, with its back to the wall of the box |
| Fridge and freezer | Unplugging a day ahead, drying, removing the glass shelves and tying the doors with wide paper tape | Always upright, tilted only at the doorstep |
| Oven and hob | Removing the racks and trays, securing the door and the lower drawer, and disconnecting the gas cylinder | On its base, with the door glass protected by board |
| Dishwasher and dryer | Drying the tub, fixing the baskets and coiling the hoses inside the appliance | Upright between two steady pieces |
| Microwave and small appliances | Removing the turntable and wrapping it separately | In padded cartons on top of the heavy load |
Bringing an appliance down from a flat is the riskiest moment for the workers’ backs and for the stair tiles. A special trolley for heavy appliances is therefore used, with a strap that holds the appliance to it and wheels that climb and descend steps. The gas cylinder is not loaded in the closed box, so it is sold or exchanged in Taif.
Three items need care beyond the above. A split air conditioner is removed by a technician who pumps the gas down into the outdoor unit before disconnecting the pipes, and refitted by a technician in Taif; many families make do with fewer units there because the weather is mild. A television travels upright in its original carton or in a padded box made to its size. Chandeliers have their crystals removed, counted and wrapped one by one.
Dedicated truck or shared load, and which size is enough?
The first question, which settles both the price and the date: does your load travel alone? A dedicated truck is closed on your furniture in Riyadh and opened only in front of your home in Taif. In a shared one your furniture is stacked with other people’s, with dividers and marks, and another load may be dropped before yours on the way.
| Point of comparison | Dedicated truck | Shared load |
|---|---|---|
| Departure from Riyadh | On loading day itself | When the load is complete |
| Duration | 1–2 days | 3–6 days |
| What you pay for | The whole trip | The space your furniture occupies |
| Times loaded and unloaded | Once in each city | The furniture may pass through a consolidation store |
| Suits | A whole flat or more, or a date that cannot slip | A room, odd pieces, cartons |
Then comes the size. A mistake here costs money either way: a small truck leaves pieces on the pavement, and a large one makes you pay for empty space. We choose it from the volume of the furniture after dismantling, not from the number of rooms alone:
| Vehicle | What it roughly carries | Note on this line |
|---|---|---|
| Small closed light truck | One to two rooms with their cartons | Enters Taif’s narrow streets without an intermediate vehicle |
| Large light truck or closed lorry | A flat of three to four rooms | The most requested between the two cities |
| Trailer with a closed box | A whole villa or two homes together | Parks on a wide street and is emptied into a smaller vehicle where needed |
The road from Riyadh to Taif across the Najd plateau and the granite hills

The truck leaves west Riyadh on Highway 40, the road that crosses the Kingdom from Dammam to Jeddah. Its first part is open plain as far as Al Muzahimiyah and Al Quwayiyah, then the land changes: the sand disappears and dark rocky hills of granite appear, scattered on both sides of the road. After Zalim and Al Muwayh a gentle climb begins that the driver hardly feels, until the truck enters Taif from the Al Hawiyah side having risen more than a thousand metres.
| Stage | Nature of the road | What it means for the load |
|---|---|---|
| Leaving Riyadh to Al Muzahimiyah | Congestion at the city exits, then flat motorway | Timing follows the truck entry and exit hours applied in Riyadh |
| Al Muzahimiyah – Al Quwayiyah | Wide lanes and crosswinds in the dust seasons | A tightly closed box keeps dust off fabric and mattresses |
| Al Quwayiyah – Zalim | The longest stretch, with services far apart and granite hills on both sides | Refuelling and a check of the straps at every stop |
| Zalim – Al Muwayh – the approaches to Taif | A gradual climb and cooler air, and camels may cross the road at night | Steady speed and early braking so that the load does not surge forward |
| Al Hawiyah and the entry to Taif | City roads and their slopes | A smaller vehicle for narrow and high districts |
Because the road is long and mostly straight, the danger to furniture is not bends but constant vibration and sudden braking. Every two rows are therefore held by a cross strap to the rings of the box, the heavy pieces are placed at the front and at the bottom, and the gaps are filled with wrapped mattresses and cushions. The straps stop the furniture moving when the truck starts to climb in the last third, so that no row leans on the one behind it.
The Ministry of Transport is building a road that links As Sail Al Kabir to the motorway in order to keep through trucks out of Taif. A furniture truck, however, is bound for the city itself, so it enters from Al Hawiyah at the hours permitted for trucks, and we confirm the hours in force before loading day.
Does the truck climb the Al Hada road?
No, and that reassures many people who have heard of the Al Hada bends. The Al Hada pass links Taif to Makkah on the western side and rises to about 2,177 metres, and trucks and large buses are banned from it all year round. A truck from Riyadh comes from the east, so it reaches Taif before it ever sees the pass.
Mountain roads concern us in one case only: when your home is in Al Hada, in Ash Shafa or in a district on a hillside. There the load is transferred inside Taif to a small light truck driven calmly on the climbs and bends, and the pieces are strapped again because the slope changes the direction of the pressure on them. Anyone continuing with furniture to Makkah or Jeddah does not descend by Al Hada but takes the As Sail road. The details of that line are in the article furniture moving from Jeddah to Taif.
Unloading the furniture from Riyadh in Taif’s districts

Taif is not level like Riyadh. It has streets that rise and fall, old buildings without a lift, and wide new districts on its edges. Unloading is therefore planned before the truck arrives: where it parks, whether more workers are needed for the stairs, and whether the furniture has to be carried on a slope. The table shows the districts where we deliver most and what we watch for in each:
| District | Prevailing type of housing | What we arrange for unloading |
|---|---|---|
| Al Hawiyah | Villas and houses on large plots in the north-east of the city, near the airport | The first district the truck reaches; it usually parks at the door |
| Shihar | Residential buildings and villas, with busy commercial streets | A time outside the rush hours and a parking place near the entrance |
| As Salamah | Mid-rise buildings, some of them old with narrow stairs | Extra workers for the stairs, and sofas measured before they are lifted |
| Al Faisaliyah | Flats and floors on inner streets | A small light truck that gets close to the door instead of the large truck |
| Al Khalidiyah, Al Qamariyah and Ash Sharqiyah | Established residential districts with limited parking | Agreement with the neighbours or the building caretaker on where to park |
| Nakhb, Al Wesam and Ar Rayyan | Newer subdivisions and duplex villas | Direct unloading, with the inner staircase and floors protected |
| Al Qutbiyah, Jabrah and Al Wukayf | Mixed houses and buildings, with some sloping streets | The vehicle held with wheel chocks before the box is opened |
| Al Hada and Ash Shafa | Houses and holiday lodges on the heights | A smaller vehicle from inside Taif, and a time that allows for fog and rain |
Stairs and slopes are climbed with care, not speed. A long piece is carried by two people, the upper one steering and the lower one taking the weight, and the wall corners at the turns are covered with guards. A wardrobe that will not turn in the stairwell is taken down panel by panel, or lifted from the balcony by ropes or an exterior hoist, and that is stated in the price beforehand.
Then comes assembly and arranging in the home. The carpet is laid first if there is one, then the bed and wardrobe are assembled in their places, the washing-machine hose is connected, and the fridge is left standing for some hours before it is switched on. You go through the list piece by piece before signing, and the crew takes the empty cartons and film away. Anyone who later moves between two districts of the same city will find the details in the article furniture moving company in Taif.
Prices of furniture moving from Riyadh to Taif
The price on this line is made of two parts: the transport charge, which follows the truck size and whether it is dedicated or shared, and the labour at the two homes for dismantling, packing, unloading and assembly. The second part has known starting prices with us. The first is set on request, because two homes with the same number of rooms can differ twofold in the volume of their furniture.
| Item | Price starts from | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Parcel up to 5 kg | SAR 32 | In the shared load, to the door |
| Carton up to 20 kg | SAR 87 | Clothes, books or kitchenware |
| Dismantling and refitting a bedroom | SAR 275 | Dismantled in Riyadh, assembled in Taif |
| Dismantling a kitchen | SAR 640 | Fitting is priced after the walls of the new kitchen are seen |
| Furniture of one room or odd pieces | Set on request | By volume after dismantling and packing |
| Furniture of a flat or villa by dedicated truck | Set on request | By truck size and the floors at both homes |
| Car on a carrier | Set on request | By the type of car and carrier |
| Cartons by domestic air freight | Set on request | By chargeable weight |
Prices quoted in the market: hardly anyone publishes a specific price for the Riyadh–Taif line. What exists is general classified adverts: moves inside Riyadh at SAR 150 to 300, a flat move “from SAR 500 to 800” with no mention of the two cities, and inter-city adverts that say “starts from SAR 150”, a figure that does not cover the fuel for eight hundred kilometres. A published number with no volume and no distance is of no use for comparison. Ask each provider for a price for your own furniture list, and ask whether it covers dismantling, assembly, packing and the workers in Taif.
| Factor | Effect on the price |
|---|---|
| Volume of the furniture after dismantling | Sets the truck size, the largest item on the bill |
| Dedicated or shared | Shared costs less for a small load; dedicated is better value once the box is full |
| Floor and lift at both homes | Every floor without a lift adds workers and time |
| Location of the home in Taif | A high district or a narrow street adds a small vehicle |
| Dismantling, assembly and air conditioners | Counted by the piece; do them yourself and they drop off |
| Season and day | Summer, month-end and weekends are in higher demand |
To lower the cost without touching the safety of the furniture:
- Get rid of what you will not use before the survey; every cubic metre is counted.
- Pack clothes and books yourself in strong cartons of similar size.
- Choose a day in the middle of the week and the middle of the month.
- If your furniture is less than half a truck and no date presses you, take the shared load.
- Reserve parking in front of both homes; the truck’s waiting time is charged.
Door-to-door time and what lengthens it
The road itself is almost constant; what changes is what comes before and after it: how long dismantling takes, when the truck is allowed to move, and whether it waits for another load. The table splits the time into its stages for an average flat with a dedicated truck:
| Stage | Usual time |
|---|---|
| Dismantling, packing and loading in Riyadh | 4–8 hours for a flat, a full day for a villa |
| The road to Taif | 10–12 hours |
| Unloading and assembly | 3–6 hours |
| Total by dedicated truck | 1–2 days |
| Total by shared load | 3–6 days |
Five things lengthen the time most: a kitchen or built-in wardrobes not mentioned at the survey, a small lift that will not take the pieces so that they go down the stairs, a late handover of the key to the new home, rain or fog on unloading day in Taif, and the hours when trucks are barred in either city. That is why we ask about all of them at booking, not on loading day.
Car transport from Riyadh to Taif on a carrier
A family with two cars drives one and ships the other. The car is not towed behind the furniture truck and does not go inside its box. It is loaded on a car carrier, open with others or enclosed on its own, and secured by its four wheels with straps. The climb to Taif is gradual on this line, so no special carrier is needed.
The car is photographed on collection from every side, and its mileage and any scratches are written in a report that you sign; about a quarter of a tank is left in it. It is handed over in Taif to you or to the person you authorise, against a copy of the ID and the registration. The charge on this line is set on request. For comparison, moving a car between Jeddah and Riyadh starts with us from SAR 830 on a shared carrier. Details are in the article car shipping company in Riyadh and on the car shipping page.
New furniture from Riyadh showrooms to your home in Taif
Many people in Taif renew their furniture from Riyadh, because its showrooms and factories are more numerous and varied. A showroom usually delivers inside Riyadh and not to another city, so the buyer is left to find someone to carry the purchases eight hundred kilometres.
We collect the pieces from the showroom or factory in your name, check their number against the invoice, and open any carton showing signs of a knock before signing for it. New furniture in its original carton is easier to move than used furniture, but it needs full assembly in Taif, so we send with the load someone who reads the assembly diagram. If you bought from more than one showroom we gather your purchases into one load.
Storage in Riyadh or Taif if the home is not ready
It happens that the tenancy in Riyadh ends before the home in Taif is handed over, or that the new home is being painted. The furniture is then stored for days or weeks between the two stages. We arrange a closed, dry place for it, it stays in its packing and numbers, and it is loaded to Taif when you ask.
The storage charge is set on request by volume and period. Our advice is to tell us from the start that storage is possible, because packing for a month’s stay is different: mattresses go in breathable bags, and wood is not wrapped in tight film so that it does not trap moisture. The terms of the service are on the storage page.
Taif’s weather and the summer season: when to book?
Taif is a summer resort, and that affects moving in two ways. The first is demand: in summer more families move there or furnish their homes there, so dates fill faster. The second is the weather: the city is cooler and more humid than Riyadh and sees rain and fog in season, especially on its western and southern heights.
| Time | What changes | What we advise |
|---|---|---|
| Summer months and the school holiday | High demand on the line and congestion inside Taif | Booking two weeks ahead and unloading in the morning |
| Rain and fog seasons | Possible wetting during unloading and temporary closure of the roads to the heights | A rain cover at the box door and a few hours’ flexibility in the time |
| Ramadan | Working hours shift towards the night | Loading after iftar and unloading the following evening |
| Month-end and the start of the school year | Peak moving time for tenants and employees | Fixing the date in writing early |
The temperature difference between the two cities has a small effect on the furniture itself: wood that has spent years in Riyadh’s dry air may need some days to settle in more humid air. So do not tighten the wardrobe screws fully on assembly day, and check them after two weeks.
The opposite direction: from Taif to Riyadh
The same service runs from Taif to Riyadh, and the road is the same. The difference lies in loading, not in driving: bringing furniture down from a house on a slope or from an old building without a lift is slower than loading at a villa in Riyadh. We therefore send a small vehicle that gathers the load from the house to the truck parked on a wide street.
In Riyadh the arrangement changes again: distances inside the city are long and truck entry is restricted at certain hours, so we agree the unloading hour before the truck leaves Taif. Prices for moving between Riyadh districts after you arrive are detailed in the article furniture moving in Riyadh. If you are looking for another line from the capital, we have furniture moving from Riyadh to Madinah.
Air freight from Riyadh to Taif for urgent cartons

Furniture does not fly inside the Kingdom: it is heavy and air is charged by the kilogram. But every move has a few things that cannot wait two days: school bags, medicines, official papers, the computer and the carton of clothes for the first week. These go ahead of the truck by air between Riyadh and Taif airports and are delivered to the door of the home.
Between King Khalid International Airport and Taif International Airport at Al Hawiyah there are direct flights of about an hour and a half, under the schedule in force on the shipping day. We collect the cartons and luggage from your home, weigh and measure them, they leave on the first flight with cargo space, and they are then distributed from the airport to your address. Door to door it takes 1 to 2 days.
| Point of comparison | Air freight | Truck |
|---|---|---|
| Suits | Light cartons, luggage, papers and medicines | Furniture, appliances and anything heavy |
| Door-to-door time | 1–2 days | 1–2 days dedicated, 3–6 days shared |
| How it is charged | By chargeable weight: the greater of actual and volumetric | By volume or by the trip |
| What is not accepted | Aerosols, perfume in quantity, loose batteries, flammable liquids | Gas, fuel and hazardous materials |
| Price | Set on request | Carton from SAR 87 |
The practical rule: what the family can do without for two days rides in the truck, and what it cannot goes on the plane or travels with it in the car. Work out your carton’s weight with the volumetric weight calculator; the service is detailed on the air freight page.
Moving abroad from Riyadh or Taif
Some of those who call us about Taif find that their next stop is outside the Kingdom, or that part of their furniture will go to relatives in another country. International shipping is Home Safe’s core business: by land to the Gulf and Jordan, by sea in containers from Jeddah Islamic Port, the nearest port to Taif, and by air from the Kingdom’s airports. These are the starting air prices per kilogram:
| Destination | Air freight starts from |
|---|---|
| Gulf states | SAR 14 per kilogram |
| Europe | SAR 23 per kilogram |
| United Kingdom | SAR 26 per kilogram |
| North and West Africa | SAR 28 per kilogram |
| United States | SAR 41 per kilogram |
A full household going abroad travels by land or sea, not by air. The capital’s services are in the article international shipping company in Riyadh, and the methods and destinations for furniture in the article international furniture shipping company from Saudi Arabia.
What is not loaded in the furniture truck and what stays with you
There are no customs and no border posts between Riyadh and Taif, so no papers are needed beyond the owner’s ID, the two addresses and the number of the person receiving. But the closed box stays for long hours under the sun, and some things should not be in it:
| Item | Reason | Alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Gas cylinders, fuel and paints | Flammable in a closed box | Sold or left behind, and bought in Taif |
| Gold, cash and original documents | Cannot be replaced if lost | They stay with you in the car |
| Medicines and daily medical devices | You may need them before the truck arrives | In hand luggage or by air freight |
| Contents of the fridge and freezers | They spoil and leak onto the furniture | Used up or given away before loading day |
| Plants and pets | They cannot bear heat and darkness | They travel with the family in its car |
We ask about the contents of every sealed carton you packed yourself and write on it, in two words, what it holds. The general list is on the prohibited items page.
Tracking, responsibility and insurance
A move between the two cities is short enough not to need a complicated tracking system, and long enough that it should not go without news. We therefore tell you at three points: when the box is closed and the truck leaves Riyadh, when it reaches Al Hawiyah, and the hour the unloading crew will arrive. You have the numbers of the driver and the move coordinator from the first day. Shipments in general are followed from the shipment tracking page.
As for the phrase “with a guarantee” that many people search with: the crew is responsible for what it packs and loads with its own hands, under the terms set out in the booking confirmation, including those on cartons packed by the customer and pieces damaged before the move. Condition is recorded by the list of pieces and their photos before loading. Anyone with valuable pieces such as antiques, a piano or paintings can ask for optional cargo insurance, explained on the cargo insurance page.
Booking steps with Home Safe
Home Safe is based in Jeddah, and moves from Riyadh to Taif are done by advance booking in which we schedule the crew and the truck for your loading day. The steps are ordered so that everything is settled before that day:
- You send photos of the rooms or a list of the pieces by WhatsApp to 0552803439, with the two districts, the floor and the moving date.
- We calculate the volume and suggest a dedicated or shared truck, and you receive the price in detail.
- You confirm the booking and receive a written confirmation with the date, the items and the terms.
- The day before loading: you unplug the fridge, empty the washing machine and set aside what stays with you.
- The crew arrives in Riyadh, dismantles, packs and numbers, and you sign the list of pieces.
- The truck sets off, and we tell you when it leaves and when it reaches Taif.
- The furniture is unloaded at your home, assembled and arranged in its rooms.
- You check the list and sign for receipt, and the crew takes the packing waste away.
Common mistakes in moving between Riyadh and Taif
- Booking an open vehicle for a road with dust at its start and possible rain at its end.
- Switching the fridge on straight after unloading without leaving it upright for a few hours.
- Moving the washing machine with its drum free, so that its springs fail before the halfway point.
- Hiding the kitchen or the air conditioners when asking for the price, then producing them on loading day.
- Not mentioning that the home in Taif is on a slope or on a street no truck can enter.
- Relying on an advert price that states no volume, no distance and no dismantling or assembly.

How do you choose a moving company between the two cities?
The difference between one mover and another does not show in the first call; they all promise the best and the cheapest. It shows in the questions the mover asks and in the paper you are given. These are signs to tell them apart:
| What you ask about | Reassuring sign | Sign for caution |
|---|---|---|
| Commercial registration | A number stated openly that can be checked | A mobile number only, with no business name |
| Pricing method | Asks for photos or a list before giving a figure | An instant price without asking about volume |
| Type of vehicle | A closed box and tension straps | An open vehicle with a cloth cover |
| Knowledge of Taif | Asks about the district, the slope and the street width | Cannot tell Al Hawiyah from Al Hada |
| Paperwork | A list of pieces and a written booking confirmation with its terms | A verbal agreement |
| Payment | A deposit on booking and the balance after delivery | The full amount before loading |

Frequently asked questions about furniture moving from Riyadh to Taif
How long does furniture moving from Riyadh to Taif take?
A dedicated truck is loaded in one day and usually reaches Taif the next, so door to door the move takes 1 to 2 days. A shared load needs 3 to 6 days because it waits for other consignments bound for Taif. The road itself is about 780 km, which a loaded truck covers in 10 to 12 hours including stops.
How much does it cost to move furniture from Riyadh to Taif?
The charge for a room, a flat or a villa on this line is set on request, because it follows the volume of the furniture, the number of floors and whether the truck is yours alone. The fixed items start as follows: a carton up to 20 kg from SAR 87, dismantling and refitting a bedroom from SAR 275, and dismantling a kitchen from SAR 640. Send photos of the rooms to 0552803439 to receive the figure.
What is the distance between Riyadh and Taif by truck?
About 750 to 800 km depending on the district you leave and the district you arrive in; we work with 780 km. A private car does it in 7 to 8 hours. A loaded truck is slower and stops for fuel and rest, so it needs roughly half a day from the last district in west Riyadh to the entrance of Taif at Al Hawiyah.
Does the furniture truck use the Al Hada road?
No. A truck coming from Riyadh enters Taif from its north-eastern side at Al Hawiyah and has no need of the Al Hada pass at all. Trucks and large buses are banned from the Al Hada road all year round. Anyone who lives in Al Hada itself or in Ash Shafa receives the load from inside Taif on a smaller vehicle suited to the climb and the bends.
Do you dismantle the furniture in Riyadh and assemble it in Taif?
Yes, and dismantling and assembly are part of the agreement whenever you ask for them. Wardrobes, beds and dining tables are taken down into numbered panels, and their screws are kept in bags taped to the piece itself. In your home in Taif the crew reassembles them in the rooms you choose. Dismantling and refitting a bedroom starts from SAR 275.
How are the washing machine and fridge prepared for a road this long?
The washing machine has its drum fixed with the original transit bolts or with padding that stops it shaking, and the water is drained from its hoses. The fridge is unplugged a day before loading so that it dries, then its door is tied with tape that leaves no mark, and it travels upright. The oven doors are secured and its glass shelves wrapped singly. Every heavy appliance goes down on a dedicated trolley, not on shoulders.
What is the difference between a dedicated and a shared truck on this line?
A dedicated truck carries your furniture alone and leaves Riyadh on loading day, so you know the arrival day in advance. A shared one gathers the furniture of several customers heading to Taif or Makkah, so you pay only for your space and wait for it to fill. A whole flat or more suits the dedicated truck. A room or a few pieces cost less on the shared one.
Do you deliver to Shihar, Al Hawiyah, As Salamah and Al Faisaliyah?
Yes, and these four are among the districts most requested from us in Taif. We also deliver in Al Khalidiyah, Al Qamariyah, Ash Sharqiyah, Nakhb, Al Wesam, Ar Rayyan, Al Qutbiyah, Jabrah and Al Wukayf, and in Al Hada and Ash Shafa by smaller vehicle. When booking, give the district, the width of the street and whether the building has a lift; we choose the unloading vehicle and the number of workers from that.
Do you move the car to Taif along with the furniture?
The car does not go inside the furniture box. It is moved on a car carrier, lifted on and secured by its wheels, and we arrange its arrival with the truck’s as far as possible. The charge for moving a car from Riyadh to Taif is set on request by its type and whether the carrier is shared or enclosed. Many customers drive their own car and leave the furniture to us.
Can I send cartons only, without furniture?
Yes. A carton up to 20 kg starts from SAR 87 and a parcel up to 5 kg from SAR 32; it travels in the shared load and is delivered to the consignee’s door in Taif. This suits a student or a single employee, or a family that has gone ahead of its furniture and needs its clothes and kitchen things first. Write the name, mobile number and district on every carton.
When should I send things by air instead of by truck?
When they are light and cannot wait two days: official papers, medicine, a computer, school bags, or a carton of clothes the family needs on the night it arrives. The flight between King Khalid Airport and Taif Airport takes about an hour and a half under the schedule in force, and delivery to the door takes 1 to 2 days. The price is set on request by chargeable weight.
Do rain and fog affect the delivery time in Taif?
They can. Taif is a high city that sees rain and fog in season, and the roads climbing to Al Hada and Ash Shafa are sometimes closed temporarily in heavy rain. The road from Riyadh is less affected because it crosses no pass. If the weather turns on unloading day we delay opening the box by a few hours so that the furniture does not get wet, and we tell you beforehand.
What does moving with a guarantee mean with you?
It means the crew is responsible for what it packs and loads with its own hands, under the terms written in the booking confirmation. We write a list of the pieces and their condition before loading, and you sign it on receipt in Taif after inspecting them. For wider cover on valuable pieces we arrange optional cargo insurance on request.
Are you based in Riyadh and Taif?
Home Safe is an establishment based in Jeddah, with commercial registration 4030601060. Moves from Riyadh to Taif are done by advance booking: we schedule the crew and the truck for your loading day in Riyadh, and the unloading and assembly crew for your arrival day in Taif. It is therefore best to book a week ahead, and earlier than that in summer and at the end of the month.
How do I book my furniture move from Riyadh to Taif?
Send photos of the rooms or a list of the pieces by WhatsApp to 0552803439, with the two districts, the floor in each home and the moving date. You receive the price and the suggested truck. Once the booking is confirmed the crew arrives on time, dismantles, packs, loads and hands you the list of pieces. We work from 7 am to 11 pm.
