How long does moving furniture from Riyadh to Qassim take, and what does it cost?
The move between the two regions is short compared with the Kingdom’s other lines, which is why it finishes in one day when a dedicated truck is booked for it. The crew leaves Riyadh before noon with the furniture wrapped and numbered, reaches Qassim in the afternoon, and the household sleeps in its own beds that same night. What sets the price is the volume of furniture and the destination town in Qassim, followed by the floor, the dismantling and the packing.
Here are the key figures in one table, with the detail in the sections that follow:
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Distance from Riyadh to Buraydah | About 340 km on the expressway through Al Majma’ah |
| Road time for a loaded truck | About 4–5 hours including stops |
| Door-to-door time by dedicated truck | One day for most flats, two days for a large villa |
| Time as a shared load | 1–3 days |
| A few pieces in a shared load | Starts from SAR 415 |
| A room or small flat | Starts from SAR 735 |
| A whole villa | Starts from SAR 2,115 |
| A car on a carrier | Starts from SAR 735 |
Who moves from Riyadh to Qassim, and what do they move?
Traffic between the capital and Qassim never stops in either direction, because many Riyadh families come originally from Buraydah, Unaizah, Ar Rass and the towns around them. The person moving here is usually returning home or furnishing the family house, not a stranger to the region. That changes what is moved: large majlis rooms, many carpets and the furniture of a rest house or farm, on top of the usual household furniture.
| Who is moving | What they usually move | What suits them |
|---|---|---|
| A retiree returning to Qassim | A whole home with the majlis, library and appliances | Dedicated truck with dismantling and assembly |
| An employee transferred to Buraydah or Unaizah | A flat of two to four rooms | Dedicated truck on a fixed date |
| A family furnishing a rest house or farm | Arabic seating, carpets, air conditioners and a fridge | Dedicated light truck or shared load |
| A student who has finished studying in Riyadh | A bedroom, a desk and cartons of books | Shared load by the piece |
| Someone who bought new furniture from Riyadh showrooms | A bedroom, sofas or a kitchen in factory cartons | Collection from the showroom and assembly in Qassim |
| An office or shop opening in Qassim | Desks, shelving, equipment and display fridges | Moving outside working hours |
What does the service cover, from survey to assembly?
The service is a single chain handled by one crew from the first day to the last, so you do not need a carpenter from one place and a driver from another. It begins with a survey of the furniture and ends when the last piece is assembled in Qassim and you sign the delivery receipt. Between the two ends there are five stages:
- Survey and pricing: by photos and a video clip on WhatsApp, or by a visit for large homes.
- Dismantling: bedrooms, wardrobes, tables, curtains and air conditioners, with every screw in a bag on its piece.
- Packing and numbering: blankets, corrugated cardboard and bubble wrap, and a label for every piece.
- Loading and the road: planned stacking and lashing straps inside a closed box.
- Unloading and assembly: each piece in its room, then removal of the packing waste.
In the survey we ask about specific things: the number of rooms, heavy pieces such as a safe, a piano or a marble table, the floor and the lift in Riyadh, and the type of housing in Qassim. With this information the truck size, the number of workers and the price are set, and all of it is written in the booking confirmation. The address-to-address service is explained on the door-to-door shipping page.
Dismantling at your home in Riyadh: bedrooms, wardrobes and kitchens
Correct dismantling is half of the furniture’s safety. A wardrobe carried upright with its doors on loosens at the hinges on the first bump, and a bed dragged out without dismantling breaks its side rail. So the technician takes apart everything that was put together with screws and leaves what was made as one piece as it is. Anything assembled with glue or nails is not dismantled; it is protected and carried whole.
| Piece | How it is dismantled | What we watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Wardrobe | Doors and shelves come off, then the sides are separated | Numbering the panels in order, and protecting mirrors with cardboard |
| Bed | Headboard, sides and base are separated | The mattress goes in its own bag and is not folded |
| Dining table | Legs are removed, and the glass or marble top is lifted off separately | Glass between two cardboard sheets, carried upright |
| Fitted kitchen | Wall units are detached, then base units, then the worktop | Shutting off water and power, and photographing the connections |
| Curtains and chandeliers | Rails are taken down, and the chandelier is released from its bracket | Crystal in a padded box, piece by piece |
| Split air conditioner | The technician pumps the gas down into the outdoor unit, then disconnects the pipes | Sealing the pipe ends so that dust does not get in |
As a stand-alone service, dismantling and assembling a bedroom starts from SAR 140, and dismantling a kitchen from SAR 640. In a full move, dismantling and assembly are included in the agreed price.
Packing the majlis carpets and seating at home in Riyadh before the move to Qassim

The majlis is the bulkiest part of a Najdi home and the lightest in weight. A carpet covering eight metres, twenty backrests, armrests and cushions, and floor-seating bases or raised Arabic sofas. Loaded as they are, they would fill half the box and gather dust. So we treat the majlis in its own way, different from how bedrooms are packed.
The carpet is vacuumed first and then rolled on a rigid cardboard tube, with the pile facing inwards. Rolling on a tube prevents the creases that show as lines after the carpet is laid, and folding is what causes them. The roll is then covered with plastic film, tied at both ends and in the middle, and loaded lying flat on top of the furniture, not under it. A valuable handmade carpet is wrapped in paper before the film so that it can breathe.
| Majlis piece | Packing method | Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Carpets and fitted carpet | Rolled on a cardboard tube, then film and ties | No crease lines and no road dust |
| Backrests, cushions and armrests | Sealed bags emptied of air | Volume drops to about half and they stay clean |
| Floor-seating bases | A blanket, then stretch film | Protects the fabric and the corners |
| Raised Arabic sofas | Legs removed where possible, cardboard corners and blankets | They pass through doorways and the wood is not scratched |
| Coffee tables and wooden armrest stands | Corrugated cardboard, with glass packed separately | No breakage and no scratches in the finish |
| Coffee pots, incense burners and serving ware | Paper round each piece inside a divided carton | They arrive without dents or breakage |
Every piece receives a numbered label carrying the name of the majlis it came from: the men’s majlis, the women’s majlis, the living room. When it is unloaded in Qassim the worker knows where to put it without asking you, and it is laid out in its original order. For packing in general there is a detailed guide in the article packing furniture for a move and on the packing guide page.
Loading from Riyadh districts: floors, lifts and truck hours
Most housing in Riyadh is flats and upper floors, so loading there takes longer than unloading in Qassim. The crew uses hand trolleys for cartons and appliances, and a loading ramp that joins the truck door to the ground, so heavy pieces are pushed rather than lifted by hand. A piece that will not pass the stairs or the lift is lowered from the balcony by an exterior hoist, whose charge starts from SAR 140.
Entry of large trucks to Riyadh’s streets is regulated by hours that the traffic authority sets and changes, so we confirm the hours in force before loading day and choose the truck size accordingly. When the large size is barred at a given time, we load into a light truck that can enter the district and continue from there. The northern districts are nearer the Qassim road exit, so their truck gains about half an hour over the southern ones.
| Side of Riyadh | Some of its districts | What marks loading there |
|---|---|---|
| North | Al Malqa, Al Yasmin, Al Narjis, Al Arid, Hittin, Al Sahafah | Modern villas and floors, and the nearest to the Qassim road exit |
| Centre | Al Olaya, Al Sulaymaniyah, Al Malaz, Al Murabba | Towers and flats with lifts, and congestion that calls for early loading |
| East | Al Rawdah, Al Naseem, Qurtubah, Al Yarmuk, Al Rimal | Duplex villas and flats, with medium-width internal streets |
| West | Dhahrat Laban, Tuwaiq, Al Uraija, Al Suwaidi | Multi-storey blocks, some without a lift |
| South | Al Aziziyah, Al Shifa, Al Dar Al Baida, Badr | Farther from the northern exit, so we start earlier there |
Dedicated truck or shared load to Qassim?
The decision follows the volume of your furniture and your date. A dedicated truck is booked for you alone: it is loaded at your door and emptied at your new door, passing through no warehouse and mixing with nobody else’s load. A shared load combines your pieces with those of other people heading to Qassim, so you pay only for your space and wait until the truck is full.
| Point of comparison | Dedicated truck | Shared load |
|---|---|---|
| Suits | A whole flat or villa, or a date that cannot move | One piece up to a room, and cartons |
| Time | Same day | 1–3 days |
| Loading and unloading | Once at each end | May pass through a consolidation point |
| Usual size | A light truck for a two-to-three-room flat, and a larger truck above that | Space inside a closed truck |
| Price starts from | SAR 735 | SAR 415 |
A light truck (dyna) takes two to three rooms and enters internal streets easily. A flat of four to five rooms and a villa need a longer truck, or a light truck with a second vehicle. We decide that from the furniture list, not by guessing. Trucking in detail is on the land freight page.
The Riyadh–Qassim road among the farms and red sands

There are four announced routes between Riyadh and Qassim. The shortest is the expressway through Al Majma’ah governorate, about 342 km long and driven by car in roughly three and a half hours. Two roads run through Shaqra, one passing Huraymila and the other Dhurma, each about 395 km long. The fourth, through Al Quwayiyah, is much longer. Furniture trucks take the first unless delivery is in the south of Qassim, which is nearer the Shaqra road.
The expressway has three lanes in each direction plus an emergency lane, a median and a fence between the two carriageways, and bridges rather than signals at its junctions. The truck passes the farms and palms of Sudair, then Al Majma’ah and Al Ghat, then crosses the red dunes of Nafud ath-Thuwayrat before entering Qassim among palm and wheat farms. It is a level road with no mountain descents, which is kinder to the load than the roads of the Hejaz.
| Stage | What happens | Approximate time |
|---|---|---|
| Loading in Riyadh | Dismantling, packing, numbering, stacking and lashing | 2–4 hours for a medium flat |
| Leaving the city | From the district to the Qassim road exit in the north | Half an hour to an hour |
| Riyadh to Al Majma’ah | Sudair and its farms, a rest stop for the driver and a check of the straps | About two hours |
| Al Majma’ah to Buraydah | Al Ghat, then the Thuwayrat sands, then the farms of Qassim | About two hours |
| Unloading and assembly | Carrying pieces to their rooms and assembling what was dismantled | 2–3 hours |
The road affects stacking in two ways. The first is sand: when the wind blows across the dunes, fine dust crosses the road, so furniture travels only in a closed box with tightly sealed doors, and fabric and mattresses go in bags. The second is heat: in summer the temperature inside the box rises, so we leave no candles, cosmetics or uncovered electronics in it, and we set out early so that the road is behind us before the midday peak.
Moving times from Riyadh to the towns of Qassim
Qassim is a region, not a single city, and its towns are spread out. Buraydah is the nearest to the expressway exit, Unaizah lies about 30 km south of it, and Ar Rass is the farthest to the west. Anyone delivering in Ar Rass leaves Riyadh an hour earlier so that assembly finishes the same day. The distances in the table are approximate, and we calculate them precisely from your national address:
| Delivery town | Distance from Riyadh | Truck time | Door to door by dedicated truck |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buraydah | About 340 km | 4–5 hours | Same day |
| Unaizah | About 350–370 km | 4.5–5 hours | Same day |
| Al Bukayriyah and Al Badai | About 380 km | About 5 hours | Same day with an early start |
| Al Mithnab | About 350–380 km depending on the route | 4.5–5 hours | Same day |
| Ar Rass | About 400–420 km | 5–6 hours | Same day with an early start, or the next morning |
| Riyadh Al Khabra, Uyun Al Jiwa and An Nabhaniyah | Calculated from the address | 5–6 hours | 1–2 days |
What lengthens the time? Four things, mostly: a home that was not prepared, so the crew starts by gathering loose items; a small or broken lift in Riyadh; loading that ran late until the truck-ban hours began; and an address in Qassim whose location was not sent, so the truck circles looking for it. All of them are solved before moving day with one phone call.
Furniture moving prices from Riyadh to Qassim
The price is built on the volume of furniture first, then on the delivery town. Buraydah and Unaizah are in one band, and Ar Rass and Al Mithnab in a slightly farther band. The figures below are our starting prices for moving by closed truck door to door, and the final price is set after we see the list or the photos:
| What you move | To Buraydah and Unaizah, starts from | To Ar Rass and Al Mithnab, starts from |
|---|---|---|
| A few pieces in a shared load | SAR 415 | Set on request |
| A room or small flat with basic wrapping | SAR 735 | SAR 830 |
| A three-room flat with dismantling and assembly | SAR 1,100 | SAR 1,290 |
| A four-to-five-room flat with full packing | SAR 1,655 | SAR 1,840 |
| A whole villa | SAR 2,115 | SAR 2,300 |
| Dismantling and assembling one bedroom on its own | SAR 140 | SAR 140 |
| Exterior hoist for upper floors | SAR 140 | SAR 140 |
| Dismantling a kitchen | SAR 640 | SAR 640 |
| A car on a shared carrier | SAR 735 | Set on request |
| A carton up to 20 kg | SAR 87 | SAR 87 |
| Temporary storage, or domestic air freight | Set on request | Set on request |
Prices quoted in the market: what is published for this line varies. For a room or small flat, figures of SAR 800 to 1,200 are quoted to Buraydah and Unaizah, and SAR 900 to 1,300 to Ar Rass. For a three-room flat SAR 1,200 to 1,800, for a four-to-five-room flat SAR 1,800 to 2,300, and for a villa SAR 2,300 to 2,900, reaching 3,200 for the farther towns. Others publish a start of SAR 450 for a small load and up to 1,200 for a large flat, and light-truck hire between SAR 500 and 1,400. For dismantling a bedroom SAR 150 to 300, for a hoist SAR 150 to 250, and for moving a car a start of SAR 800. Always compare on the same volume and the same services.
| Factor | How it changes the price |
|---|---|
| Volume of furniture after dismantling | It sets the truck size and is the largest item in the price |
| Delivery town in Qassim | Ar Rass, Al Mithnab and distant villages cost more than Buraydah and Unaizah |
| Floor and lift in Riyadh | A high floor without a lift adds workers and time, and may require a hoist |
| Level of packing | Full packing with cartons and crates costs more than basic wrapping |
| Dedicated or shared | Shared is cheaper for someone with little furniture and a flexible date |
| Season and day | Demand for trucks rises at the end of the month and in the holidays |
How do you lower the cost? Before the move, get rid of what you will not use, because every metre in the box is counted. Fill the small cartons yourself and leave the furniture and appliances to the crew. Choose a day in the middle of the month and the middle of the week. If your furniture is less than two rooms, ask about the shared load. Work out the volume of what you are moving with the CBM calculator, and review the factors that affect the price.
Unloading the furniture from Riyadh and arranging it in Buraydah, Unaizah and Ar Rass

Unloading in Qassim is easier than loading in Riyadh, because most housing there is villas, single-storey houses and low-rise floors. The truck stops in front of the door, a cardboard runner is laid over the flooring, and the pieces go in by their numbers: bedrooms first, then the kitchen, then the majlis. Whatever was dismantled in Riyadh is assembled before the crew leaves.
The majlis is the last thing arranged and the one given most care. The carpet is unrolled from its tube and left a few minutes to settle, then the Arabic seating bases are placed along the walls and the backrests and armrests are set out in the order of their numbers. The raised sofas get their legs back and their screws tightened. Before leaving, we walk through the rooms with you, check the pieces against the receipt, and take the empty cartons and film away with us.
| Town | Districts we deliver in | Delivery note |
|---|---|---|
| Buraydah | Al Rayyan, Al Nahdah, Al Fayziyah, Al Safra, Al Muntazah, Al Iskan, Al Khaleej, Al Ufuq, Al Rihab, Al Humar, Al Salmiyah, Al Nakheel | The regional capital and its most requested town, with wide new streets |
| Unaizah | Al Fayha, Al Rayyan, Al Muntazah, Al Olaya, Al Badiah, Al Salam, Al Mulayhah, Al Qadisiyah, King Khalid, King Fahd | About 30 km south of Buraydah, and priced in its band |
| Ar Rass | The town’s districts and new subdivisions, according to the national address | Farther west, so departure from Riyadh is earlier |
| Al Bukayriyah and Al Badai | The two town centres and the surrounding subdivisions | Between Buraydah and Ar Rass, both delivered the same day |
| Al Mithnab, Riyadh Al Khabra and Uyun Al Jiwa | The towns and the villages attached to them | We confirm the state of the road to the house before booking |
| Farms and rest houses | Outside the built-up area | A smaller vehicle for the last stretch if it is unpaved or the gate is narrow |
Anyone living in Qassim who wants a move within Buraydah or between the region’s towns will find that service in the article furniture moving company in Qassim.
Electrical appliances: air conditioner, fridge, washing machine and screen
Appliances are not harmed by distance but by how they are carried. A fridge tipped on its side, a washing machine whose drum moves, and a screen leaned on its face all arrive looking intact and not working. Each appliance has a preparation that comes before loading day, and some of it is for you to do before the crew arrives:
| Appliance | Preparation before loading | In the truck and after arrival |
|---|---|---|
| Split air conditioner | A technician pumps down the gas and separates the two units | It is installed and the gas checked; new pipes may be needed depending on the distance between the units |
| Window air conditioner | Removed from its frame and drained of water | Carried level, and the wall opening in the new house is measured beforehand |
| Fridge and freezer | Unplugged a day ahead and dried, with the shelves secured | They travel upright and are left for some hours before being switched on |
| Washing machine | Water drained and the drum locked with the transit bolts | The bolts are removed before the first wash |
| Screen | In its original carton or between two foam sheets | Carried upright with nothing placed on top of it |
| Cooker and gas | The cylinder is disconnected and not loaded in the box | Connection by a gas technician in Qassim |
In Qassim homes, alongside the split unit, the evaporative (desert) cooler is common in annexes and rest houses. Its tank is emptied and its wet pads removed before the move, and it is carried upright.
Qassim homes and climate: what changes in the move
Three things make a move to Qassim different from a move within Riyadh. The first is the type of housing: villas with courtyards, annexes and outdoor majlis rooms, so the furniture is spread over more than one building at the same address. We ask you for a simple plan or the names of the rooms and write them on the labels before loading, so that the annex furniture does not go into the main house.
The second is the climate. Summer in Qassim is hot and dry, its winter is cold, and its nights are colder than Riyadh’s. In summer we leave early and finish unloading before mid-afternoon, and we protect leather and painted wood from the courtyard sun while carrying them in. In winter, electronic devices are left indoors for an hour before being switched on so that they reach room temperature.
The third is the season. In late summer the date season peaks, and trucks multiply around the markets of Buraydah and Unaizah and at the town entrances. Anyone moving in those weeks books earlier, and we choose an entrance away from the market.
Car transport from Riyadh to Qassim on a carrier
A family with more than one car cannot drive them all on moving day. The answer is a car carrier: the car is lifted, secured by its wheels with straps, and set down in front of your home in Qassim. Moving a car from Riyadh to Qassim on a shared carrier starts from SAR 735. An enclosed carrier for a luxury or classic car is set on request.
Before lifting, the car is photographed from all sides, and the odometer and old scratches are recorded in a report that you sign. Leave about a quarter of a tank, take out personal belongings, and hand over the key with a copy of the registration card and your ID. A car that does not run can be moved too, but tell us in advance so that we send a carrier with a winch. More detail is in the article car shipping company in Riyadh and on the car shipping page.
Moving offices, shops and hotel furniture to Qassim
A company opening a branch in Buraydah, a shop relocating from Riyadh, and furnished flats being fitted out in Unaizah all need a move measured in hours of lost work. So we load offices after the end of the working day or at the weekend, and deliver ready for work on the first day after it.
Files travel in cartons numbered by department and employee. Computers and printers are wrapped in anti-static material, with their cables separated into bags marked with the device name. Display fridges and metal shelving are dismantled and their parts counted. Hotel-room furniture is moved room by room: bed, bedside table, wardrobe and mirror in one set under the room number, so it is assembled with no mixing. For establishments we issue the receipt in the establishment’s name and hand over to whoever you name. More on the commercial shipping page.
A single item and cartons between Riyadh and Qassim
Not everyone who calls is moving a home. A mother sending a washing machine to her daughter in Ar Rass, a young man who bought a second-hand sofa in Riyadh, a student returning his books to Buraydah. They do not book a truck but a space in the shared load. The item is collected from the door, wrapped and delivered to the consignee’s door, with no minimum number of pieces.
A few pieces start from SAR 415, a carton up to 20 kg from SAR 87, and a small parcel up to 5 kg from SAR 32. Write the consignee’s name, mobile number and district on every piece, since an incomplete address is what delays delivery most. Shipping between the Kingdom’s other cities is explained in the article domestic shipping company in Saudi Arabia.
Storage when the new home is not ready
It often happens that the lease in Riyadh ends before the house in Qassim is finished: paint that has not dried, a kitchen not yet fitted, or electricity not yet connected. In that case the furniture is kept wrapped and numbered just as it left your home and delivered when you ask for it. We do not own a warehouse of our own in Riyadh or Qassim, so storage there is arranged according to what is available on your date, and its price is set on request.
The storage period, charge and terms are written in the booking confirmation. Our advice is to list the pieces in a photographed inventory before they enter storage, and to keep with you what you will need during the weeks of waiting. Service terms are on the storage page.
What is not loaded with the furniture, and the paperwork needed
There are no borders or customs between Riyadh and Qassim, so the paperwork is light. But some things have no place in a closed box that travels for hours under the sun, and some stay with their owner however much trust there is:
| Item | Ruling | Alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Gas cylinders, fuel and paints | Not loaded | Sold or handed back empty, and bought again in Qassim |
| Cash, gold and official papers | Stay with you | In your own car |
| Frozen and chilled food | Does not survive the road in an ordinary box | A cool box in your car |
| House plants | Moved at your request with no commitment as to their condition | Better in your car |
| Licensed weapons | Not loaded with the furniture | Carried by their owner under the licence |
| Daily medicines | Stay with you | Hand luggage |
As for the paperwork: the furniture owner’s ID or residence permit, the loading address and the delivery address, and the list of pieces. For a car, its registration card and the owner’s ID or an authorisation from them. For an establishment, an invoice or a letter in its name. A receipt stating the number of pieces and their condition is issued and signed by both sides at loading and at delivery.
From Qassim to Riyadh: the reverse direction
The same service runs from Qassim to the capital. Students from Buraydah and Unaizah accepted at Riyadh’s universities, transferred employees, and families furnishing a flat for their son all take the same road southwards. The price bands are the same, because the distance is the same.
The difference is at the other end. Loading from a ground-floor villa in Qassim is quick, but unloading in Riyadh may be on the fourth floor with a small lift. So we ask about three things before booking: the floor, the size of the lift, and whether the building management allows the truck to stop in front of the entrance. Moving within the capital itself is explained in the article furniture moving in Riyadh.
Air freight from Riyadh to Qassim for urgent luggage

Direct flights of about one hour link King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh with Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport west of Buraydah. The number of flights follows the current schedule, so we confirm what is available on request. We collect the bag or carton from your door in Riyadh, hand it to the airport cargo desk, and it is then distributed from Qassim airport to the consignee’s address.
We say it plainly: the distance is short, and the truck arrives the same day. Air here does not suit furniture and helps only in a few cases: a bag left behind that its owner needs tomorrow, contract documents, medicine, or a spare part that has stopped a machine on a farm. Everything else goes by road at a lower price.
| Point of comparison | Domestic air freight | Truck |
|---|---|---|
| Suits | Urgent bags and cartons, documents and medicines | Furniture, appliances and anything heavy or large |
| Door-to-door time | 1–2 days depending on the flight | Same day dedicated, and 1–3 days shared |
| How it is charged | Per kilogram of chargeable weight | By volume, by piece or by the trip fare |

If your next destination after Qassim is outside the Kingdom
Some people who move their furniture to Qassim gather it there ahead of travelling, and some residents leave from there for good. International shipping is the root of our work, so the domestic move continues abroad in one booking. By land in closed trucks to the Gulf states and Jordan. By sea in a container carried to Jeddah Islamic Port or the port of Dammam. And by air from Qassim airport or from Riyadh airport, with the air kilogram to the Gulf starting from SAR 14.
Shipping abroad from Qassim is detailed in the article international shipping company in Qassim, from the capital in international shipping company in Riyadh, and the furniture of people returning to their home countries in international furniture shipping company from Saudi Arabia.
Booking steps with Home Safe
Home Safe is an establishment based in Jeddah, and a move from Riyadh to Qassim is carried out by advance booking in which the crew and the truck are scheduled for your date. So the steps begin days before moving day:
- You call or message 0552803439 and give the district in Riyadh, the town in Qassim and the date you want.
- You send photos or a clip of every room, with the floor, the lift and the type of new home.
- You receive the price and what it covers in dismantling, packing and assembly, plus the truck size and the number of workers.
- You confirm the date and receive the booking confirmation with the terms and the supervisor’s name and number.
- A day before, we go over the arrival time, the truck parking and the location of the house in Qassim with you.
- Moving day: dismantling, packing, numbering and loading, then signing a receipt with the number of pieces.
- The truck sets off, and you are notified when it leaves Riyadh and when it nears your town.
- Unloading, assembly and arranging, checking the pieces against the receipt, then signing and paying as agreed.
Follow-up on the road, the crew’s responsibility and insurance
The move is a single day, so follow-up is direct rather than a complicated system. You have the supervisor’s number from the booking confirmation, and he updates you at three points: when the truck door is closed in Riyadh, at the mid-route rest stop, and half an hour before arrival so that you are at the door. A shared load has a shipment number that you can ask about by WhatsApp or on the tracking page.
As for the guarantee, we state it without exaggeration. The crew is responsible for what it dismantled, wrapped and loaded with its own hands, under the terms written in the booking confirmation, and those are the terms referred to if damage occurs. That is why every old scratch is recorded on the receipt before loading. Cargo insurance is an optional service added on request for anyone with high-value pieces, and it is explained on the cargo insurance page.
Tips before loading day
- Start with the kitchen and clothes three days ahead, and leave for moving day only what you use daily.
- Photograph the connections of screens and air conditioners before they are dismantled; a photo shortens the reinstallation.
- Have the majlis carpets washed before the move, not after it; rolling keeps them clean until they are laid.
- Put a bag for the first night in your car: clothes, medicines, chargers and papers.
- Send the map location of the house in Qassim, with a photo of its gate and entrance.
- Reserve the lift or tell the building management in Riyadh the loading time.
- Ask the gas and electrical technician in Qassim to come in the afternoon of arrival day.
How do you choose a company to move your furniture to Qassim?
Adverts on this line are many and alike, and all of them promise the cheapest and the fastest. The difference shows in a few questions you ask before paying a deposit. These signs tell a serious mover from the rest:
| A good sign | A sign that calls for caution |
|---|---|
| A commercial registration and an establishment name that appear on the receipt | A mobile number only, with no name and no registration |
| Asks about the pieces, the floor and the address before pricing | One price for every home without seeing anything |
| A closed truck, lashing straps and blankets | An open vehicle and ropes for a road with sand on it |
| Writes down what the price covers and what it does not | A verbal promise that changes at the front door |
| Issues a receipt with the number of pieces and their condition | Loading with no inventory and no signature |
| Sets out the liability terms in the booking confirmation | An absolute guarantee with no written terms |
Common mistakes in moving from Riyadh to Qassim
- Folding the majlis carpet instead of rolling it, so the fold lines stay in it for months.
- Booking an open light truck to save a hundred riyals on a road that sand blows across.
- Leaving wardrobes full of clothes, which makes them heavy to carry and pulls their hinges loose.
- Switching the fridge on the moment it is set down, without waiting.
- Loading late in the afternoon, so the furniture arrives at night and assembly is postponed.
- Not sending the location of the farm or rest house, and relying on a verbal description.
- Booking one day before the date at the end of the month.

Frequently asked questions about furniture moving from Riyadh to Qassim
How long does furniture moving from Riyadh to Qassim take?
A dedicated truck completes the move in one day for most homes. Loading starts in the morning in Riyadh and takes two to four hours, the truck then covers the road to Buraydah in four to five hours including stops, and the furniture is unloaded and assembled before night. A large villa may need one day for dismantling and packing and another for the road and assembly. A shared load arrives within 1 to 3 days.
How much does it cost to move furniture from Riyadh to Qassim?
A few pieces in a shared load start from SAR 415. A room or small flat to Buraydah or Unaizah starts from SAR 735, a three-room flat with dismantling and assembly from SAR 1,100, a four-to-five-room flat with full packing from SAR 1,655, and a villa from SAR 2,115. Ar Rass and Al Mithnab are a little farther, so their prices begin roughly one to two hundred riyals higher.
Does the price differ between Buraydah, Unaizah and Ar Rass?
Buraydah and Unaizah sit in one band because only about 30 km separate them. Ar Rass and Al Mithnab lie farther than Buraydah, so the price rises slightly: a room from SAR 830 instead of 735, a three-room flat from SAR 1,290, and a villa from SAR 2,300. Villages and farms outside the towns are priced by how far they are from the paved road.
What is the distance between Riyadh and Qassim?
The shortest route is the expressway through Al Majma’ah, about 342 km to Qassim according to the Roads General Authority, driven by car in roughly three and a half hours. There are also two roads through Shaqra, each about 395 km long. A loaded truck is slower than a car, so we allow four to five hours to Buraydah.
Do you dismantle the furniture in Riyadh and assemble it in Qassim?
Yes, and in a full move it is part of the service, not an extra. The technician dismantles bedrooms, wardrobes, dining tables and curtains, and puts the screws of each piece in a bag taped to it. In Qassim everything is reassembled in the same rooms according to the label numbers. As a stand-alone service, dismantling and assembling a bedroom starts from SAR 140, and dismantling a kitchen from SAR 640.
How do you move majlis carpets and Arabic seating?
The carpet is vacuumed and then rolled on a cardboard tube so that its pile does not crease, covered with plastic film and tied at both ends. Backrests, cushions and armrests go into sealed bags that are emptied of air, which shrinks their volume. The seating bases are wrapped in blankets. Every piece receives a label with its number and the name of the majlis, so it is laid out in Qassim in its original order.
Do you have a branch or warehouse in Riyadh or Qassim?
No. Home Safe is an establishment based in Jeddah, and moves between Riyadh and Qassim are arranged by advance booking: we fix the day with you, and the crew and the truck are scheduled for your date. That is why we ask for the booking to be made enough days ahead, especially at the end of the month and in the holidays. The date and the services we commit to are written in the booking confirmation.
Dedicated truck or shared load: which should I choose?
A dedicated truck is for someone moving a whole home or needing a fixed date; it leaves your door and reaches your new door with no warehouse in between. A shared load is for someone moving a few pieces without urgency, who pays only for the space used and waits one to three days for the load to fill. Anything that fills more than half the box belongs in a dedicated truck.
Do you move the car with the furniture to Qassim?
Yes, but on a car carrier, not inside the furniture truck. Moving a car from Riyadh to Qassim on a shared carrier starts from SAR 735; it is secured by its wheels and photographed before it is lifted. A family with two cars drives one and sends the other, which arrives when the family does or a day later.
Is there air freight from Riyadh to Qassim?
Yes. Direct flights of about one hour link King Khalid International Airport and Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport, and their number follows the current schedule. Air suits an urgent bag or carton or a set of documents, delivered to the door within one to two days. Furniture belongs on the truck, because the road is short and air is charged by the kilogram.
Do you move a single item such as a fridge or a sofa?
Yes. A single item or a few pieces travel in the shared load and start from SAR 415 door to door. A carton up to 20 kg starts from SAR 87. We need a photo of the item and its approximate size, whether the building has a lift, and the address and mobile number of the person receiving it in Qassim.
Is the move guaranteed, and what if a piece is damaged?
The crew is responsible for what it packs and loads with its own hands, under the terms written in the booking confirmation. That is why we photograph valuable pieces before wrapping and record any old scratch on the collection receipt. The contents of sealed cartons you pack yourself remain your responsibility. Cargo insurance is optional and added on request.
Do you reach farms, rest houses and villages in Qassim?
Yes, as long as the road to them can carry the truck. We ask about the last stretch: whether it is paved, and whether the gate is wide enough for the truck to enter. If the track is unpaved or the gate is narrow, we transfer the load to a smaller vehicle at the nearest point. Send the map location of the farm when you ask for the price.
Do you also move from Qassim to Riyadh?
Yes, the same service runs in both directions. A student moving to the universities of Riyadh, an employee transferred to the capital, and a family sending pieces to their son are all on this line. Pricing follows the same bands; the difference in Riyadh is that most housing is flats on upper floors, so we ask about the lift and the truck parking before booking.
When should I book, and which day is best for moving?
Book a week ahead if you can, and two weeks ahead when your day falls at the end of the month or the start of the summer holiday, when most families move. Midweek days are quieter for bookings than the weekend. An early departure from Riyadh puts the unloading in Qassim before mid-afternoon, which is kinder to the furniture and to the crew in the summer months.
