Who ships internationally from Qassim?
Qassim is a farming and trading region in the centre of the Kingdom, and its people ship for reasons that differ from those of the coastal cities. It has palm farms that send their dates abroad, universities and hospitals staffed by residents who go home with their furniture, and families with relatives in Kuwait and the rest of the Gulf. Each of these has a method that suits what they send:
| Who | What they ship | Best method |
|---|---|---|
| Farm owner or date trader | Sukkari and other dates in cartons | Land to the Gulf and Jordan, air for urgent loads |
| Resident returning home | Household furniture, appliances and luggage | Land to Jordan, Syria and Egypt, sea for distant countries |
| Family with a home in the Gulf | Majlis seating, bedrooms and cartons | Land, dedicated or shared truck |
| Student or relocating employee | Suitcases, books and personal effects | Shared load or air |
| Factory or business | Food products, materials and pallets | Trucks by land, containers by sea |
| Car owner | A car for sale or relocation | Carrier to the Gulf, RoRo or container elsewhere |
International shipping methods from Qassim
Qassim’s position in the heart of the peninsula makes the road its first route. Motorways leave it for Riyadh to the south-east, Hail to the north and Madinah to the west. The sea is far away on both sides, so it is chosen only for a large shipment bound for a distant country. Air is for what is light and urgent.
| Method | Where it leaves from | Suits | Time to the door |
|---|---|---|---|
| Land | The Batha, Salwa, Ar-Ruqi, Khafji, King Fahd Causeway, Haditha and Arar crossings | The Gulf, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Iraq | 2–10 days |
| Land then ferry | Duba port on the Red Sea | Egypt | 9–14 days |
| Air | Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Airport or King Khalid Airport | Urgent dates, parcels and documents | 1–9 days |
| Sea via Jeddah | Jeddah Islamic Port | Europe, Turkey, Africa and the Americas | 3–8 weeks |
| Sea via Dammam | King Abdulaziz Port | India, Pakistan and East Asia | 2–6 weeks |
The rule we work by is simple. Anything bound for the Gulf or the Levant goes by road, whatever its size. Anything large bound for another continent goes by sea. Anything light and urgent goes by air to any country. The full comparison of the methods is on the shipping methods comparison page.
Transit times from Qassim by destination
The times in the table start on the day of loading in Qassim and end at the consignee’s door, and they are for a dedicated truck that leaves as soon as it is loaded. A shared load takes 2 to 4 days longer, because your shipment waits at the consolidation centre until the truck for that country is full.
| Destination | Route | Time by dedicated truck |
|---|---|---|
| Kuwait | Hafar al-Batin, then the Ar-Ruqi crossing | 2–3 days |
| Bahrain | Riyadh, then Khobar and the King Fahd Causeway | 2–3 days |
| Qatar | Riyadh, then Al-Ahsa and the Salwa crossing | 2–3 days |
| UAE | Riyadh, then the Batha crossing | 3–5 days |
| Oman | Batha through the UAE, or the Empty Quarter crossing | 4–6 days |
| Jordan | Hail and Al-Jouf, then the Haditha crossing | 3–6 days |
| Syria | Haditha, then Jordan and the Nassib crossing | 5–8 days |
| Iraq | The Jadidat Arar crossing | 4–8 days |
| Egypt | Tabuk and Duba, then the ferry | 9–14 days |
What lengthens the time? Three things, mostly. The first is a missing paper discovered at the crossing, which holds the truck until it arrives. The second is a busy season, such as the Eid holidays, the peak of the date season and the summer return of residents. The third is a shared load to a destination with little demand, where the wait for it to fill grows longer. We tell you what to expect before you book, not after. Times for each country are on the transit times page.
International shipping prices from Qassim
We do not put estimated figures on Qassim. The starting prices in the table are those of the nearest city we have priced, which is Riyadh, where Qassim shipments join the international trucks and flights. The haulage item from your town in Qassim to the consolidation centre is set on request, because it changes with the governorate and with the size of the shipment.
| Shipment | Destination and method | Price starts from |
|---|---|---|
| Documents by express service | Air | SAR 83 |
| Parcel up to 5 kg | Gulf, shared land | SAR 32 |
| Carton of belongings or dates | Gulf, Jordan or Egypt, shared land | SAR 140 |
| Cubic metre | Gulf, shared land | SAR 550 |
| Bedroom | Kuwait, land | SAR 920 |
| Bedroom or studio | UAE, land | SAR 1,380 |
| Furniture of one room or a studio | Jordan, shared load | SAR 1,650 |
| Furniture of a two- to three-room flat | Jordan, truck | SAR 3,700 |

| Full truck | UAE, land | SAR 6,450 |
| Car | A Gulf country, car carrier | SAR 1,100 |

| Parcels and urgent dates | Gulf, air | SAR 14 per kilogram |
| Haulage from Qassim to the consolidation centre or the port | Closed truck | Set on request |
Prices quoted in the market: we looked for what is published for the Qassim line and found no one publishing an international price from Buraidah, Unaizah or Ar Rass. What is published is classified adverts for moving furniture inside the region, and directories listing company names in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam with no figures, where the price is given over the phone. So do not compare one number with another; compare what each price includes: collection from Qassim, packing, crossing fees, and delivery to the door in the destination country.
What sets the price?
- The method: land is cheapest for the Gulf and the Levant, sea for the distant and heavy, and air costs most per kilogram and is fastest.
- Volume or weight: land and sea go by the cubic metre, air by weight. Work out your shipment’s volume with the CBM calculator.
- Your governorate in Qassim: Buraidah and Unaizah are on the truck line, and the collection item rises in the more distant governorates.
- Dedicated or shared: shared costs less and takes longer.
- Services: dismantling, packing, storage, reassembly and insurance are items written each with its own price.
How do you bring the cost down? Combine your shipment with that of a relative or neighbour heading for the same country, so the collection item is split between you. Choose a shared load if your date is flexible. Do not send to the Gulf by air what can bear two days in a truck. And dismantle large pieces before the volume is measured, since a dismantled wardrobe takes a third of the space it takes standing. The other factors are on the pricing factors page.
What is distinctive about shipping from Qassim?
Qassim is not one city but a cluster of towns and governorates close to one another, with Buraidah as their capital. It lies midway between Riyadh, Hail and Madinah, so many trucks heading north, west and east pass through it. That position helps you in two ways: a shipment for Jordan or Iraq leaves Qassim northwards without going down to Riyadh, and a shipment for the Gulf joins the daily departures from Riyadh.
| From Buraidah to | Approximate road distance | Why it matters to your shipment |
|---|---|---|
| Unaizah | About 30 km | Its shipments are collected with Buraidah’s on the same round |
| Riyadh | About 330 km | Consolidation centre, King Khalid Airport and gateway to the Gulf |
| Hail | About 300 km | The road to Jordan, Iraq and Egypt |
| Madinah | About 520 km | The road west to the Red Sea coast |
| Dammam | About 730 km | King Abdulaziz Port and the King Fahd Causeway |
| Jeddah | About 940 km | Jeddah Islamic Port |
The region has three features that enter our planning. It has no port, so every sea shipment is preceded by a long road journey that must be written into the price. It has an international airport with fewer flights than Riyadh, so we choose between it and King Khalid Airport according to the destination. And it has a date season in which demand for refrigerated and closed trucks is heavy for weeks on end. As for the northern railway that stops in Qassim, it is a passenger train, and individuals’ shipments are not carried on it.
Collection from Buraidah, Unaizah, Ar Rass and the other governorates of Qassim
You do not carry your shipment to anyone. The collection vehicle arrives at your door at the agreed time, bringing packing materials and scales. What you are sending is packed in front of you, each package has its number stuck on it and is weighed or measured, and you receive a list of the numbers before the vehicle moves. That same list is the one presented at the crossing, and it is your reference at delivery in the destination country.

| City or governorate | Where we collect | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Buraidah | As-Safra, Al-Fayziyah, Ar-Rayyan, Al-Iskan, Al-Khaleej, Al-Muntazah, An-Nahdah, Sultanah, Al-Khubayb, Khudayra and the other districts | The date market and the industrial cities are on the round |
| Unaizah | All its districts and farms | Joined to the Buraidah round |
| Ar Rass | The town and its dependent villages | A set day in the week according to demand |
| Al Bukayriyah, Al Badayea and Riyadh Al Khabra | From the home or the farm | On the Ar Rass road, gathered in one round |
| Al Mithnab and Ash Shimasiyah | From the home or the farm | South and east of the region |
| Uyun Al Jiwa and Al Asyah | From the home or the farm | North of the region, on the Hail road |
| An Nabhaniyah, Uqlat As Suqur and Dhariyah | By prior appointment | West of the region, where the collection item is higher |
With a small shipment, such as a carton or two suitcases, we wait for the next collection round in your governorate so that you do not bear the hire of a whole vehicle. Household furniture and a full truck have a day booked for them alone. And if your home is in a narrow street, or on a farm far from the paved road, tell us when booking so that we send a vehicle of the right size.
Shipping Qassim Sukkari dates from Buraidah
Dates are the best-known thing to leave Qassim. The region has about 11 million palm trees, and Sukkari alone accounts for roughly 85% of their output. The date city in Buraidah opens its season at the start of August and it lasts about 75 days, with around 45 varieties on show, among them Sukkari, Barhi, Saqai, Khalas, Rothana and Wannana. Buyers come to it from the Gulf and beyond, and many of them buy and then look for someone to ship.

We collect the dates from the market, the farm or the packing plant, and prepare them for the journey according to their type. Dry and semi-dry Sukkari withstand the road in well-sealed cartons. Fresh rutab and soft Sukkari do not withstand heat, so they travel in a refrigerated truck or by air. The common mistake is to stack soft dates on top of one another with no dividers, so that they arrive as paste at the bottom of the carton.
| Type of date | Suitable packing | Shipping method |
|---|---|---|
| Dry or semi-dry Sukkari | Reinforced cartons sealed with tape and stacked on a pallet | Land, by closed truck |
| Soft Sukkari and rutab | Plastic tubs or small cartons with dividers | Refrigerated truck or air |
| Premium gift dates | Gift boxes inside an outer carton that protects them from pressure | Air or shared land |
| Pressed dates and date paste | Vacuum packs or sealed tins | Land or sea |
| Commercial quantity | Wrapped pallets with a label on every carton | Full truck or refrigerated container |
A family gift of a few cartons is shipped with a contents list and a copy of the sender’s ID. A commercial quantity needs an invoice, a packing list and a certificate of origin proving the dates are Saudi, which is what exempts them from duty in the Gulf states. Some countries ask for a phytosanitary or health certificate for commercial quantities, and we check what the destination requires before the truck is loaded. The price is no different from other goods: a carton by land from SAR 140, and an air kilogram from SAR 14.
Land freight from Qassim to the Gulf and Jordan
Most of what leaves Qassim leaves on wheels. The closed truck carries furniture, dates, cartons and goods, and takes one of two directions. The eastern and south-eastern direction takes it to the Gulf crossings: Ar-Ruqi and Khafji for Kuwait, the King Fahd Causeway for Bahrain, Salwa for Qatar, and Batha for the UAE and Oman. The northern direction, through Hail and Al-Jouf, takes it to the Haditha crossing near Qurayyat, and from there to Jordan and on to Syria and Lebanon.

| Country | Saudi crossing | Opposite crossing | Transit papers we prepare |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kuwait | Ar-Ruqi or Khafji | Salmi or Nuwaiseeb | Export declaration and contents list |
| Bahrain | King Fahd Causeway | Causeway customs | Export declaration and the truck’s crossing slot |
| Qatar | Salwa | Abu Samra | Export declaration and contents list |
| UAE | Batha | Ghuwaifat | Export declaration and certificate of origin for goods |
| Oman | Batha or the Empty Quarter | According to the route available | Export declaration and transit papers through the UAE |
| Jordan | Haditha | Al-Omari | Export declaration, detailed list and returnee papers where they apply |
Time is lost at the crossing, not on the road. A truck with complete papers crosses in hours, and one that is a paper short spends the night at the gate. So we prepare the transit papers before loading day: the export declaration, the numbered contents list, copies of the sender’s and consignee’s IDs, and the certificate of origin for commercial goods. For the Oman route through the Empty Quarter crossing, we confirm what is open to cargo before booking. To Egypt, the whole truck boards the ferry at Duba port, as explained in the article on land freight from Saudi Arabia to Egypt. The whole service is on the land freight page.
A dedicated truck or a shared load?
The question is settled by the size of your shipment and by your date. Anyone whose furniture fills half a truck or more, or who cannot wait, takes a truck to themselves that leaves on loading day. Anyone shipping a room or some cartons shares the truck with others and pays only for their space. Either way your pieces are numbered and kept apart from the rest.
| Point of comparison | Dedicated truck | Shared load |
|---|---|---|
| For whom | The furniture of a whole home, or goods that fill the truck | A room, cartons or a pallet |
| How it is charged | Truck hire | By the cubic metre or the carton |
| Departure | Loading day | When the load is complete at the consolidation centre |
| Handling | One loading and one unloading | Loaded in Qassim, then moved to the destination truck |
| Price starts from | SAR 6,450 to the UAE | SAR 550 per cubic metre to the Gulf |
Moving furniture abroad from Qassim: survey and dismantling
Moving a home to another country begins with knowing what is in it. You send photos of every room or a list of the pieces, or a specialist visits if there is a great deal of furniture. From the survey the volume is calculated, and it becomes clear whether a shared load is enough or a truck or container is needed, and which pieces need dismantling or a wooden crate. What we ask of you is four things only:
- The address of the home in Qassim, the floor, and whether the building has a lift.
- The city and country where the furniture is to be delivered.
- The kind of furniture and its large pieces: bedrooms, majlis seating, kitchen and air conditioners.
- The day you want loading to take place, and your travel date if you are leaving.
The right crew comes according to what is in the home: a carpenter who dismantles and reassembles bedrooms and wardrobes, a kitchen fitter, a technician who disconnects air conditioners and appliances, and workers for packing and carrying. The screws of each piece are gathered in a bag bearing its number, and complicated pieces are photographed before dismantling so they go back together as they were. For a departing resident we arrange loading day around the final exit visa date. The service is on the furniture shipping page.
Types of packing and what suits each piece
Furniture that crosses a thousand kilometres or more needs more than the wrapping used for a move within a city. The truck vibrates for long hours, pieces are stacked on one another, and the shipment may be moved from one vehicle to another. So each piece is wrapped in what suits its material, and often two types meet on a single piece:
| Type of packing | What it is | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Ordinary wrapping | Soft plastic rolls and blankets | Sofas, mattresses and wooden surfaces, against dust and scratches |
| Bubble wrap | Plastic with air bubbles that absorbs shock | Glass, mirrors, screens and wooden edges |
| Carton packing | Reinforced cartons and pressed-board sheets | Clothes, books, crockery and valuables |
| Double packing | Bubble wrap, then a carton | Kitchenware and sensitive electronic devices |
| Wooden crate | A frame or box built to the size of the piece | Marble, antiques, chandeliers and paintings |
Air conditioners are drained and their two units wrapped separately. The moving parts of a fridge and a washing machine are secured before wrapping. Large pieces of furniture go into the truck standing or on their side according to what protects them, not according to what saves space. How each item is packed is in the packing guide.
Storing furniture, then reassembling it in the destination country
Sometimes the date for handing back the house comes before the shipping date, or the owner travels before the new home is ready. In that case the furniture goes, wrapped and numbered, to a closed warehouse, and is arranged there so that glass, wood and electrical appliances stay where nothing is loaded on top of them. It leaves the warehouse for the truck as it entered, with no opening or fresh wrapping. The storage period and its charge are written in the booking confirmation, and the service is on the storage page.
On arrival, the service does not end at the building’s entrance. The furniture is carried up to the flat, the packages are opened by their numbers, and bedrooms, wardrobes and tables are assembled in the rooms you choose. You go through the list with the crew number by number before they leave. If you need air conditioners or the kitchen fitted in the new home, say so when booking so that a technician is arranged in the destination city.
Parcels, luggage and personal effects
Not everyone who ships from Qassim is moving a home. Many send a carton of clothes to a son studying abroad, a suitcase a visitor left behind, or gifts to family in Kuwait or Amman. These small shipments travel in a shared load by land, or by air if they are urgent. A parcel of up to 5 kilograms to the Gulf starts from SAR 32, and a carton from SAR 140.
- Excess baggage: the bags the airline will not allow are shipped a few days before you travel and reach you in your country.
- Students’ belongings: books, clothes and a computer, in numbered cartons on a single list.
- Gifts: dates, coffee, incense and abayas, written on the list by name and not under the word “gifts”.
- Documents: by express service from SAR 83.
Details are on the parcel shipping page.
Commercial goods and farm produce
Qassim has date and food factories, farms, industrial cities, and traders who sell to customers in the Gulf. Their goods travel on pallets in closed or refrigerated trucks, and the larger consignments in containers. What matters to the trader more than the price is that the goods arrive with papers that are not turned back at the crossing.
- Certificate of origin: it proves the product is Saudi, so it is exempt from customs duty in the Gulf states.
- Invoice and packing list: with the weight of each pallet and its number of cartons, matching what is on the truck.
- Food: a label on the pack with production and expiry dates, and health certificates according to the destination country.
- Refrigerated cargo: a truck with the temperature set for the product, and the temperature written in the transport order.
- Small orders: a pallet or two travel in the shared load.
The service is on the commercial shipping page.
Car shipping from Qassim
A car bound for the Gulf is carried on an open or enclosed car carrier, and is not driven to the crossing. A car bound for a distant country is first taken to the port, then enters the RoRo vessel on its own wheels or is lashed inside a container. The prices in the table are starting prices from Riyadh, and moving the car from Qassim is added and set on request.
| Destination | Method | Price starts from |
|---|---|---|
| Qatar | Carrier by land | SAR 1,100 |
| Bahrain | Carrier by land | SAR 1,380 |
| UAE | Carrier by land | SAR 1,650 |
| Kuwait | Carrier by land | SAR 1,850 |
| Jordan, saloon car | Shared carrier | SAR 1,290 |
| Turkey, Europe and Africa | RoRo from Jeddah port | SAR 2,800 for a saloon |
Before shipping, the export certificate is obtained from the traffic department once fines are paid and the plates handed in. The car is photographed from every side, a quarter of a tank of fuel is left in it, and personal belongings are taken out. Ask about the destination country’s rule before you pay: Jordan, for example, under the rules currently applied, does not accept a passenger car more than five years past its manufacture. Each country’s rules are in the article on car shipping from Saudi Arabia and on the car shipping page.
Sea freight from Qassim through Jeddah and Dammam
The sea is far from Qassim, yet it is the only sensible route for the furniture of a whole home, a car or heavy goods bound for Europe, Africa or Asia. The idea is that the shipment is loaded in Qassim and then taken by road to the port that suits its destination, not to the port nearest in kilometres.
- Jeddah Islamic Port: about 940 km away. From it the vessel enters the Suez Canal directly, so it serves Turkey, Europe, North and West Africa and the Americas.
- King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam: about 730 km away. From it the vessel heads east, so it serves India, Pakistan and East Asia.
- Full container: it arrives empty at your home or warehouse, is loaded and sealed in front of you, and is opened only at the consignee’s.
- Part load: for less than half a container. Your shipment goes to the port warehouse and is grouped with others, and you pay by the cubic metre.
- Cars: by RoRo from SAR 2,800 for a saloon, or in a container for a luxury car or one that does not run.
Starting prices by sea: a 20-foot container from Jeddah port to Turkey from SAR 4,600, and furniture in a shared container to Europe from SAR 5,500. Haulage from Qassim to the port is a separate item set on request, so ask for it to be written into the price and it will not surprise you. Details are in the article on the sea freight company in Saudi Arabia and on the sea freight page.
Air freight from Qassim via Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Airport or Riyadh
Air is for what cannot wait: soft dates for a season or an occasion, an urgent parcel, medicine, documents, a commercial sample. Qassim has an international airport, Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Airport near Buraidah, with passenger flights to Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Bahrain, Kuwait, Cairo and Istanbul, according to the timetable in force, which changes with the season. An air shipment travels in the hold of those flights.

We choose the airport according to your shipment. If its destination is one served by a flight from Qassim, and the flight has enough space for it, it leaves from Qassim airport. If no flight from Qassim reaches the destination, or the shipment is larger than the flight can carry, it is taken by closed truck to King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, about 330 km away, and flies from there. In both cases it is delivered to the consignee’s door.
| Region | Estimated door-to-door time | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Gulf states | 1–3 days | From SAR 14 per kilogram |
| Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon | 2–5 days | Set on request |
| Turkey and Europe | 3–6 days | Set on request |
| India, Pakistan and East Asia | 3–6 days | Set on request |
| Africa | 3–8 days | Set on request |
| The Americas and Australia | 5–9 days | Set on request |
The air price is calculated on the chargeable weight, which is the greater of the actual weight and the volumetric weight. A carton of dates is heavy and small, so it is charged by its weight; a carton of pillows is light and bulky, so it is charged by its volume. Work it out with the volumetric weight calculator. Loose batteries, aerosols and perfume in quantity are not carried by air. The service is in the article on air freight from Saudi Arabia and on the air freight page.
Documents and customs clearance
The papers are prepared before the shipment moves, not at the crossing. We handle export clearance at the land crossing, the airport or the port, and coordinate arrival clearance with a broker in the destination country. What we need from you differs according to what you are shipping:
| Type of shipment | Documents |
|---|---|
| Luggage and used furniture | National ID or residence permit and passport, contents list, and the final exit visa for a departing resident |
| Dates and family gifts | The sender’s ID, a list of the varieties and weights, and the consignee’s address and phone number |
| Commercial dates and food | Invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, commercial registration, and health certificates according to the destination country |
| Commercial goods | Invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and commercial registration |
| Car | Registration, export certificate and the owner’s ID |
Each destination country has its own conditions on top of that. Someone returning to Jordan, for example, may have their used furniture exempted on conditions that are reviewed before shipping, and the Gulf states exempt a Saudi product on its certificate of origin. Our rule is this: we tell you what is applied today, and we confirm what is in force on the day of your shipment before loading. The explanation is on the required documents page and the customs clearance page.
What cannot be shipped from Qassim?
Some things are barred by the export rules, some by the destination country, and some travel by road but are not carried by air. One prohibited item in a single carton stops the whole truck at the crossing and delays other people’s shipments along with yours. That is why we ask what is in each carton before it is closed.
| Item | Ruling | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Flammable materials and gas cylinders | Not shipped | A danger to the truck and the aircraft |
| Medicines in quantity or without a prescription | Shipped only with the destination country’s approval | Subject to health controls |
| Cash, gold and jewellery | Not shipped within luggage | Not covered by insurance |
| Zamzam water | Not shipped as commercial cargo | Its export is limited to the traveller’s pack |
| Meat, dairy and perishable food | Not shipped in an ordinary load | It spoils, and most countries bar it |
| Palm offshoots, plants and seeds | Only with an agricultural permit | Plant quarantine in the destination country |
| Loose batteries, aerosols and perfume in quantity | By road on conditions, and not carried by air | Aviation safety rules |
The full list is on the prohibited items page.

- Each package is numbered and weighed or measured, and you receive the contents list and a collection receipt.
- The shipment goes to the consolidation centre or straight to the crossing, and you receive the tracking number.
- It is cleared for export, then cleared in the destination country.
- It is delivered at the consignee’s door, the furniture is assembled, and the list is checked number by number.
Tracking and insurance
The distance between Qassim and the consignee’s door is long, and you are entitled to know where your shipment is at every stage. You receive a tracking number at loading. We tell you when the shipment leaves the consolidation centre, when it crosses the border or the flight takes off, and when it reaches the consignee’s city and a delivery time is set. You can ask at any time on WhatsApp during working hours, and follow it on the shipment tracking page.
Insurance is optional, and is calculated on the value you declare in the contents list. That is why a realistic value is written for each line, not one overall figure. What the insurance covers, what it does not, and how to claim are written in the booking confirmation, so read them before paying. The explanation is on the cargo insurance page.
Shipping to Qassim from abroad
The line works in both directions. Someone who has moved to work at a university or hospital in Buraidah or Unaizah ships furniture from their country to Qassim, a trader imports goods, and a family receives what relatives send from the Gulf. Our agent collects from the address in the country of origin, the shipment enters the Kingdom through the land crossing, airport or port, and it is then carried by closed truck to your door in Qassim.
- At Saudi customs: duty according to the item and 15% value added tax; used personal effects of someone arriving to live are treated under the rules currently applied.
- Conformity: goods subject to technical regulations need a conformity certificate before shipping.
- Gulf products: they enter on a Gulf certificate of origin with no customs duty.
Tips before shipping from Qassim
- Book one to two weeks ahead of your date, and earlier than that in the date season and around the Eid holidays.
- Send photos of each room instead of a list from memory, since a volume estimated from photos does not change on loading day.
- Write the consignee’s name and phone number in the destination country as they appear on their ID.
- Set apart what you will need in the first week after arrival in marked cartons that are unloaded first.
- Do not close a carton before its contents are recorded on the list.
- Buy dates in their original sealed cartons, and do not transfer them into bags.
How do you choose an international shipping company in Qassim?
Anyone who phones more than one firm hears widely differing prices for the same shipment. The difference is mostly not in the freight charge but in what the number includes and in how well the firm knows the road. The signs show from the first call:
| What you ask about | Reassuring sign | Worrying sign |
|---|---|---|
| Legal status | Commercial registration and a receipt in the establishment’s name | A transfer to a personal account with no receipt |
| Collection from Qassim | An item written in the price, with its date | “Bring it to Riyadh yourself” |
| Route | Names the crossing, airport or port | “We deliver anywhere” with no detail |
| The list | Numbering, weighing and a list handed to you | Loading with no count and no paper |
| Delivery | Asks for the consignee’s city and address | Delivery at a warehouse, not at the door |
| Time | Distinguishes dedicated from shared | One time for every shipment |
Common mistakes when shipping from Qassim
- Asking for sea freight to the Gulf, when a truck gets there in days at lower cost.
- Comparing a price that excludes collection from Qassim with one that includes it.
- Stacking soft dates in large cartons with no dividers and then sending them by road in summer.
- Putting off booking the truck until the peak of the date season.
- Writing “household items” on the list instead of naming what is in each carton.
- Shipping a car before finding out the age rule in the destination country.
- Handing back the house before arranging somewhere to store the furniture until the departure date.

Frequently asked questions about international shipping from Qassim
How much does international shipping from Qassim cost?
It is worked out on the prices of our nearest consolidation centre, in Riyadh, plus a haulage item from your town in Qassim that is set on request. A parcel of up to 5 kilograms to the Gulf starts from SAR 32, a carton from SAR 140, a cubic metre from SAR 550, a bedroom to Kuwait from SAR 920, a car to a Gulf country from SAR 1,100, and an air kilogram from SAR 14.
Do you collect in Buraidah, Unaizah and Ar Rass themselves?
Yes. The collection vehicle comes to the door of your home, warehouse or farm in Buraidah, Unaizah, Ar Rass, Al Bukayriyah, Al Mithnab, Al Badayea, Riyadh Al Khabra and the other governorates. Whatever you are sending is packed on the spot, each package is numbered and weighed, and it then joins the truck heading for its destination.
Qassim has no port, so how do you ship by sea from it?
The container is loaded in Qassim, or the shipment travels to the port in a closed truck. Jeddah Islamic Port is about 940 km from Buraidah and is the right choice for Europe, Turkey, Africa and the Americas. King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam is about 730 km away and is the right choice for India and East Asia. We name the port for you before you book.
Does air freight leave directly from Qassim airport?
It does when there is a flight to the destination with enough cargo space for the consignment. Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Airport has passenger flights to Gulf cities, Cairo and Istanbul, depending on the timetable in force. Anything Qassim airport does not suit is taken by road to King Khalid Airport in Riyadh, about 330 km away, and flies from there.
How long does land freight take from Qassim to the Gulf states?
A dedicated truck delivers in Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait in 2 to 3 days, in the UAE in 3 to 5 days, and in Oman in 4 to 6 days. A shared load takes 2 to 4 days longer, because it waits at the consolidation centre for the truck to fill.
How long does a shipment take from Qassim to Jordan?
The truck heads north through Hail and Al-Jouf to the Haditha crossing near Qurayyat, and enters Jordan at the Al-Omari post. A dedicated truck delivers in Amman in 3 to 6 days, and a shared load in 6 to 10 days, depending on when it fills and how quickly it clears.
Do you ship Qassim dates abroad?
Yes, and they are the most common shipment from the region. Dry Sukkari dates travel by road in well-sealed cartons to the Gulf and Jordan, while fresh rutab and urgent quantities go by air. A family gift is shipped with a contents list; a commercial quantity needs an invoice, a certificate of origin and whatever health certificates the destination country asks for.
When is the date-shipping season in Buraidah?
The market season in Buraidah opens at the start of August and runs for about 75 days, and demand for trucks and flights rises with it. Anyone who books before the peak of the season secures a place on the nearest departure. Stored and packed dates are shipped in the remaining months of the year.
Do you move the furniture of a whole home from Qassim to another country?
Yes. The furniture is surveyed from photos or on a visit, then a crew arrives to dismantle bedrooms, wardrobes, kitchens and air conditioners, wrap each piece in what suits it, and write a numbered list. The furniture is loaded into a closed truck or a container, then delivered and reassembled in the new home in the destination country.
Do you ship cars from Qassim?
Yes. To the Gulf on a car carrier: Qatar from SAR 1,100, Bahrain from SAR 1,380, the UAE from SAR 1,650 and Kuwait from SAR 1,850. To the rest of the world by sea from SAR 2,800 for a saloon by RoRo. A haulage item for moving the car from Qassim is added and is set on request.
What documents are needed to ship from Qassim?
For luggage and furniture: a copy of the national ID or residence permit and the passport, the contents list, and the final exit visa for a departing resident. For a car: the registration, the export certificate and the owner’s ID. For commercial goods: an invoice, a packing list, a certificate of origin and a commercial registration.
Do you store furniture if I hand the house back before the shipping date?
Yes. The furniture goes, wrapped and numbered, to a closed warehouse and stays there until the departure date or until the destination paperwork is ready. The storage period and its charge are written in the booking confirmation, and the furniture leaves the warehouse for the truck without being wrapped again.
Can I ship just one carton or one suitcase?
Yes. A carton, a suitcase or a small parcel travels in a shared load, and you pay only for the volume you sent. A carton to the Gulf starts from SAR 140, and a parcel of up to 5 kilograms from SAR 32. If it is urgent it goes by air from SAR 14 per kilogram.
Is the shipment insured, and how do I follow it?
Insurance is an optional service calculated on the value declared in the contents list, and its terms are written in the booking confirmation. You receive a tracking number at loading, and we tell you when the shipment crosses the border or the flight takes off, and when it reaches the consignee’s city.
How do I book, and what are the working hours?
Call or message us on WhatsApp on 0552803439 from 7 am to 11 pm. Send what you want to ship as a list or photos, the name of your town in Qassim, and the destination country and city. You receive an itemised price and a collection date.
