Home Safe is a shipping company from Madinah to Lebanon; it carries furniture, luggage, dates, gifts, goods and cars. Land is the main method: a closed truck sets off north from Madinah for Tabuk, drives through Jordan and Syria, and comes into Lebanon by the Masnaa crossing. Beirut is about 1,400 km away, the journey takes 5 to 10 days between your door and the consignee’s, and air freight needs two to 4 days. Prices start from SAR 1,650 for a luggage shipment, SAR 3,700 for a small flat’s furniture, and SAR 2,800 for a car. To book: 0552803439.

Who ships from Madinah to Lebanon, and what do they ship?
Shipping from Madinah to Lebanon has three faces. The first is Lebanese families who lived in Madinah for years, working in education, medicine, engineering and hotels, and are now going home with their household furniture. The second is a Lebanese visitor who came for the visit and Umrah and bought dates and gifts in Madinah’s markets that exceed the airline allowance. The third is a trader sending Madinah’s dates and products to the Lebanese market. Each has a method that suits the size of the shipment and the date:
| Shipper | What they ship | Most suitable method |
|---|---|---|
| Lebanese returning on final exit | Household furniture, appliances, books and luggage | Full truck by land, or a container by sea |
| Visitor and Umrah pilgrim | Dates, gifts and excess suitcases | Shared load by land, or air for urgent items |
| Resident sending to family | Cartons of clothes, appliances and dates | Shared load by land |
| Car owner | A car under 8 years old | Container by sea from Jeddah port |
| Trader in dates and gifts | Dates by the pallet, prayer beads, rugs and Saudi products | Full truck by land, or a container by sea |
| Companies and organisations | Office furniture, equipment and documents | Dedicated truck, and air for documents |
Route and transit time from Madinah to Lebanon
The Kingdom and Lebanon share no border, so the truck crosses Jordan and then Syria before it arrives. Madinah is the closest of the large Hejaz cities to this road, because the truck heads north from the first kilometre and needs to pass neither Jeddah nor Riyadh. It climbs onto the black basalt plateau of Harrat Khaybar, passes the Khaybar oasis and its palms, then Tayma, then Tabuk. From Tabuk it enters Jordan and crosses it from south to north, then crosses Syria from Nassib to Damascus, and enters Lebanon at the Masnaa crossing in the Bekaa. The driving itself takes about three days; the rest goes on loading, clearance at the crossings and unloading.
| Stage | Approximate distance | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Madinah → Khaybar → Tayma → Tabuk | About 680 km | The longest stage, where shipments from Khaybar, Tayma and Tabuk join |
| Tabuk → Halat Ammar | About 100 km | Saudi export clearance and sealing of the truck |
| Mudawwara → Maan → Amman → Jaber | About 410 km | Crossing Jordan on a transit document |
| Nassib → Daraa → Damascus → Jdeidet Yabous | About 150 km | Crossing Syria on a transit document |
| Masnaa → Chtaura → Dahr el-Baidar → Beirut | About 60 km | Lebanese clearance, then distribution to the addresses |
| Method | Door-to-door time | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Full truck by land | 5–7 days | A whole home’s furniture and goods |
| Shared load by land | 7–10 days | One or two rooms, cartons, dates and luggage |
| Container by sea to the Port of Beirut | About 14–22 days | Cars, heavy loads and furniture whose owner is in no hurry |
| Air | 2–4 days | Documents, parcels and urgent cartons of dates |
The nearest Saudi crossing for a truck from Madinah is Halat Ammar, north of Tabuk, facing the Jordanian post of Mudawwara. The truck may be routed to the Al-Haditha crossing through Al-Jouf if that is easier for the type of load at the time. Depending on the state of the crossings, we confirm the available route before shipping.
What lengthens the time?
- The crossings: three borders and six posts, each with inspection and stamping, and each liable to congestion.
- Transshipment: a crossing may have the freight taken off one truck and put on a second in its yard, if that is the rule in force on the day.
- Madinah’s seasons: in Ramadan and Hajj, demand for vehicles and crews rises and truck movement in the city centre is regulated.
- Winter: the Dahr el-Baidar road between the Bekaa and Beirut can close for days because of snow.
- A vague list of contents: it gets cartons opened at more than one crossing.
- The exemption file: a missing paper delays the release of the furniture in Lebanon.
Shipping prices from Madinah to Lebanon
First, how do we calculate? In a shared load, what you send from Madinah is measured by its volume or weight; for a large load, the whole truck or container is priced. Because the road to Lebanon runs through two countries, two items join the freight that anyone shipping to the Gulf never meets: the transit fee in Jordan and Syria, and a clearing agent’s charge at more than one crossing. The table below gives the starting price for each kind of shipment leaving Madinah for Lebanon:
| What you ship | Method | Price starts from |
|---|---|---|
| A shipment of luggage, cartons and suitcases | Shared land | SAR 1,650 |
| A small flat’s furniture | Land | SAR 3,700 |
| A large flat’s furniture | Land, full truck | SAR 6,000 |
| 20-foot container | Sea, from Jeddah port to the Port of Beirut | SAR 4,600 |
| Saloon car | Sea | SAR 2,800 |
| Parcels and urgent items | Air | SAR 14 per kilogram |
| Documents | Express | SAR 83 |
| A carton of dates or a single parcel | Shared land | Set on request |
| 40-foot container, or a car on a land carrier | Sea or land | Set on request |
| A villa’s furniture or goods needing more than one truck | Land or sea | Set on request |
Market prices quoted for this route are far apart, and most come without a breakdown. Air freight is offered at SAR 30 to 68 per kilogram by some and SAR 68 to 150 by others, and an air parcel of up to 5 kg at SAR 150 to 300. Land freight is offered at SAR 10 to 28 per kilogram, a shipment of personal effects by land at SAR 1,500 to 2,800, and a medium parcel of 20 kg at SAR 800 to 1,500. A 20-foot container is quoted at SAR 2,500 to 6,500, a 40-foot container at SAR 4,000 to 12,000, and a car at SAR 3,500 to 7,500. A gap that wide on a single item means each figure covers something different. So ask about every figure you receive: does it include packing, transit, clearance and delivery to the address?
| What sets the price | Its effect |
|---|---|
| Volume and weight | The first factor. Work out the volume with the CBM calculator |
| Method | Land is cheaper for furniture and dates, sea for a car and a heavy load, and air costs most per kilogram |
| Full truck or shared | A full truck is faster and dearer; in a shared load you pay for your space only |
| Transit and clearance fees | The shipment crosses Jordan and Syria before it is cleared in Lebanon |
| Delivery city | Beirut, or Sidon and Tyre, or Tripoli, or the Bekaa and the mountains |
| Collection point | A home in a spacious district, or a hotel in the central area that needs a small vehicle |
| Season | Ramadan and Hajj in Madinah, and summer in Lebanon, bring higher demand |
How do you lower the cost?
- Choose a shared load if your volume is under half a truck and your date is not pressing.
- Put all the family’s gifts into one shipment under one consignee’s name instead of scattered cartons.
- Go over the conditions of the furniture exemption before you ship: a duty paid without need is dearer than any gap in haulage rates.
- Do not put new boxed appliances among a returnee’s furniture; they count as goods.
- Book outside Ramadan, Hajj and the summer months if you can.
What about offers and the cheapest shipping company? We do not advertise large percentage discounts on an unstated price, nor free shipping for the first kilograms. Real savings with us come three ways: the shared-load price for those in no hurry, a lower price for those shipping furniture and a car together, and a fixed contract price for the trader who ships every month. The cheapest figure is not the cheapest shipment if it leaves out clearance and delivery to the address. What goes into the price is explained on the pricing factors page.
What sets shipping from Madinah apart?
Madinah is a city of visitors before it is a city of trade, and that changes the shape of shipping from it. A large share of shipments is not furniture but suitcases, gifts and dates that a visitor hands over at the hotel a day before travelling. The surroundings of the Prophet’s Mosque are crowded with hotels and pedestrians, and large trucks enter the city centre at hours set by the traffic department, tighter in the seasons, so we confirm the hours in force before loading day. Outside the centre the districts are spacious and level, and the truck reaches the door.
Madinah has its own international airport, Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport, so an air shipment does not need hauling to Jeddah every time. The sea, though, is far: the nearest port is Yanbu at about 220 km, and Jeddah Islamic Port is about 420 km away. The Haramain high-speed railway links Madinah with Makkah and Jeddah, but it carries passengers, not freight.
| Particular | Its effect on your shipment to Lebanon | How we handle it |
|---|---|---|
| The direct northern road | The truck heads for Tabuk from the first kilometre | We load in Madinah and pick up shipments from Khaybar, Tayma and Tabuk on the way |
| Hotels of the central area | No room for a truck to stand or for lengthy packing | A small vehicle collects suitcases and cartons from reception |
| Regulated truck entry to the centre | Loading within set hours | We fix the appointment in advance and load in the permitted time |
| An international airport in the city | The air shipment is handed over close to your home | We deliver it to Madinah airport, and divert it to Jeddah if that is quicker |
| Distance from the port | A container needs a road haul before sailing | We seal it at your home and move it to Jeddah or Yanbu port |
| Dates | A foodstuff affected by heat and pressure | Sturdy cartons with dividers, and early-morning loading in summer |
Shipping dates and gifts from Madinah to Lebanon

Few people visit Madinah without taking dates home. The Madinah region is the Kingdom’s third-largest date producer, and its central date market sells Ajwa, Safawi, Sukkari and Medjool. The Lebanese visitor buys for family and neighbours, then finds the weight is more than the aircraft allows. That is where we collect the cartons from the shop or the hotel, repack them for a long road journey, and deliver them to the consignee’s door in Lebanon. The visitor flies home with hand luggage only.
Gifts are not only dates. They include prayer beads, prayer rugs, copies of the Quran, perfumes, incense, musk and Ihram garments, as well as dried Madinah mint. Each has its own packing: the fragile away from the heavy, and the scented away from food. Zamzam water is not shipped from the Kingdom, so we do not include it in any shipment.
| Item | How we pack it | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Dates in gift boxes | A double-wall carton with dividers that stop the boxes rubbing | Stacked at the top of the load, away from weight and heat |
| Dates by the carton for the family | Cartons of no more than 20 kg, taped shut and numbered | A personal quantity, with a description of the contents and the consignee’s name |
| Commercial dates | By the pallet, stretch-wrapped and strapped | Invoice, certificate of origin, health certificate and product label |
| Prayer beads, Qurans and prayer rugs | Sealed bags, then a carton, with the Qurans in a separate carton at the top of the load | Listed by number in the inventory |
| Perfumes, incense and musk | Bottles wrapped singly in a padded carton | Shipped by land; restricted in air freight |
| Mint and dried herbs | Tightly sealed bags | Personal quantities |
- Personal versus commercial: a quantity beyond a family’s consumption is treated by Lebanese customs as goods, so it needs an invoice and certificates.
- Summer: a soft date such as Sukkari softens further in heat, so we load it last and unload it first.
- Delivery: we call the consignee before arrival and hand over at the door against a signature and the carton count.
Shipping furniture and household goods from Madinah to Lebanon

The furniture of a Lebanese family returning from Madinah always holds more than sofas and beds: a library built up over years, a home office with its computer and printer, papers and certificates. All of it travels 1,400 km, is opened for inspection at more than one crossing, and may be moved from one truck to another. So we pack every piece as though it will be loaded and unloaded more than once, and we write a detailed inventory to present at each crossing.
- Books: in small cartons of no more than 20 kg each. A large carton filled with books splits at the base the first time it is lifted.
- The home office: the desk and shelves are dismantled, the computer and screen go in a padded carton, and drives and important documents stay with you.
- Dismantling and numbering: we take bedrooms and wardrobes apart, number every part, and tape a bag holding its screws to each piece.
- Glass, mirrors and marble: in made-to-measure wooden crates, carried upright, not flat.
- Sofas, mattresses and carpets: wrapped in stretch film against dust and damp; a carpet is rolled, never folded.
- An inventory for each crossing: a numbered list of every carton and piece, in Arabic and English, with a copy for each border post.
- Records: photos before packing and after loading are sent to you.
- Assembly in Lebanon: in your new home we unload, put the bedrooms, wardrobes and bookshelves back together, and take the packing waste away.
Sometimes the furniture is ready to reach Lebanon before the house there is finished. It then stays in our store, still packed and inventoried, until you tell us the day that suits you; the storage page explains how. The furniture shipping service has a page of its own, and packing materials and methods are set out in the packing guide.
Shipping electrical appliances, fridges and air conditioners to Lebanon
Appliances suffer most on a long road if they are not prepared before packing. A fridge loaded with water in it arrives with a smell and mould. A washing machine whose drum was not secured damages its bearings. An air conditioner removed without pumping down the gas arrives empty. Preparing the appliance is half its protection; the other half is the packing and the lashing inside the truck.
- Fridge and freezer: unplugged, emptied and dried a day ahead, carried upright, and switched on in Lebanon only some hours after being set in place.
- Washing machine: the drum is fixed with the transit bolts and the hoses are drained.
- Window and split air conditioners: the gas is pumped down into the outdoor unit, the two units are packed separately, and the copper pipes are coiled without kinking.
- Electricity in Lebanon: the voltage is 220 volts, close to the Kingdom’s, but the frequency is 50 Hz against 60 in the Kingdom. Most modern appliances accept both, so check the rating plate before you ship.
- Power equipment: power cuts in Lebanon lead many people returning from Madinah to add solar panels, inverters and voltage stabilisers to the shipment. We stand the panels on their edge rather than flat, and each battery travels in its own box on the floor of the load.
Full truck or shared load?
Three borders between Madinah and Lebanon make the choice between the two trucks matter more than on short routes. Whoever takes the whole truck sees it sealed outside the house and leaving on loading day itself, and the seal is broken only with customs present. Whoever shares waits until the truck fills, then every shipper’s file is cleared separately, and a paper missing from one file delays the truck and everyone on it. Our advice: a full truck for a whole home’s furniture whose owner is claiming the exemption, and a shared load for a single room or for cartons of dates and gifts.
| Comparison | Shared load | Full truck |
|---|---|---|
| You pay for | Your shipment’s space or weight | The whole truck |
| Time | 7–10 days | 5–7 days |
| Departure | Once the truck is full | On loading day |
| Clearance | Each shipper’s papers separately | One file for one owner |
| Handling | Consolidated at the warehouse, then loaded | Loaded straight from your home |
| Best for | Up to about two rooms, cartons, gifts and luggage | A whole home or a large quantity of goods |
Shipping parcels, suitcases and visitors’ luggage
A parcel from Madinah to Lebanon may be an envelope of documents, a carton of clothes, or the suitcases of a visitor that travel home ahead of him. The rule is the same: the light and urgent goes by air, and anything over a few kilograms goes by land in a shared load at a much lower cost. A shipment of luggage and cartons by land starts from SAR 1,650, and express documents from SAR 83.
- Small parcels: a double-wall carton, a clear description of the contents, and the consignee’s name and Lebanese mobile number.
- Visitors’ suitcases: we collect them from hotel reception, wrap them in stretch film and number them, and they enter the list under the owner’s name.
- Arriving by train: anyone who reached Madinah on the Haramain train with too much luggage can hand it to us in Madinah and travel back light.
- What stays with you: passports, cash, gold and medicines go into no parcel.
Details are on the parcel shipping page.
Shipping commercial goods and containers from Madinah to Lebanon
A Madinah trader selling in Lebanon chooses between two routes. A truck by land suits urgent goods and an order split between several addresses; a container by sea suits a heavy quantity whose owner can wait; and the cost per kilogram falls as the shipment grows. What the Lebanese market wants from the Kingdom is well known: dates, foodstuffs, detergents, plastics and building materials. Where the goods are of Saudi origin and carry a valid certificate of origin, they come under the exemptions of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area.
- Full truck: loaded at your warehouse and sealed, and delivered to the importer’s warehouse.
- Full container: a 20-foot from SAR 4,600 for the sea freight from Jeddah port, and a 40-foot priced on request.
- Documents: a commercial invoice, a packing list, an authenticated certificate of origin and a bill of lading.
- Foodstuffs and dates: a health certificate is required; cosmetics need approval from the competent ministry in Lebanon.
- Regular contracts: a fixed price for monthly trips, and one account manager.
Details are on the commercial shipping page.
Car shipping from Madinah to Lebanon: conditions and steps
Before you ask what it costs to ship your car from Madinah, know two things: its year of manufacture, and what will be paid on it in Lebanon. Under the practice there, a used car built more than 8 years ago is not accepted for import, and we verify the condition in force for your car before moving it. As for duties, Lebanese customs assess the car’s value and charge on that, the amount climbs with engine size, and it can surprise the owner. We ship the car in a container by sea from Jeddah Islamic Port, the method with the least handling and the most dependable date.
| Item | Rule |
|---|---|
| Age limit | The rule applied is 8 years for a used car, and we confirm what is in force before shipping |
| By sea in a container | From Jeddah port to the Port of Beirut, from SAR 2,800 |
| From Madinah to the port | On a flatbed carrier or driven, set on request |
| By land on a carrier | Through Jordan and Syria depending on the state of the crossings, priced on request |
| Steering side | Left-hand drive, as in the Kingdom; right-hand drive is not accepted |
| Duties in Lebanon | Customs duty, excise, value added tax, then registration fees |
These are the steps for shipping a private or commercial car, in order:
- Asking about duties: you send the year of manufacture and engine size, and we ask the clearing agent in Lebanon for the approximate duty.
- Export certificate: traffic fines are settled, the plates are surrendered, and the traffic department issues the export certificate.
- Inspection and photos: we photograph the car from every side and record any scratch in a report you sign.
- Preparation: personal items are removed, and the fuel is left at a quarter of a tank.
- Haul to the port: from your home in Madinah to Jeddah Islamic Port.
- Securing in the container: with straps over the wheels and wooden chocks, under a fabric cover.
- Clearance at the Port of Beirut: in your presence or your agent’s, with duties paid in the owner’s name.
- Handover: the car is checked against the inspection report, then the keys are handed over.
A financed car needs a no-objection letter from the finance provider before export. Anyone driving their car to Lebanon as a visitor needs the customs passage carnet, explained on the Triptik carnet page. General conditions are in the article on car shipping from Saudi Arabia, and the service is on the car shipping page.
The land crossings between Madinah and Lebanon, and what happens at them
Anyone used to shipping to the Gulf assumes there is one border. On the Lebanon road a truck from Madinah passes six posts spread over three borders. The seal goes on the truck as it leaves the Kingdom, and every post it passes examines it. Since the load is sold neither in Jordan nor in Syria, it crosses both on a transit document only, and is properly cleared only once it reaches Lebanon.
| Border | The two facing posts | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Saudi Arabia → Jordan | Halat Ammar → Mudawwara | The Saudi export declaration, then the Jordanian transit is opened |
| Jordan → Syria | Jaber → Nassib | The Jordanian transit is closed and the Syrian transit opened |
| Syria → Lebanon | Jdeidet Yabous → Masnaa | The Syrian transit is closed, then the Lebanese declaration and inspection |
- Halat Ammar: in the Tabuk region, the nearest crossing into Jordan for anyone coming from Madinah and the Hejaz. Mudawwara, facing it, is about 322 km from Amman.
- The alternative: the Al-Haditha crossing near Qurayyat, facing Al-Omari, the largest crossing with Jordan. We switch to it if it is easier at the time.
- Entering Syria: the entry of non-Syrian trucks is subject to a Syrian regulation from which a truck in transit is exempt. Even so, moving the load onto another truck may be asked for at one of the crossings, according to what applies at the time, which is why we pack a Madinah shipment from the start to withstand transshipment.
Note: the land road from Madinah to Lebanon never stays in one condition; it follows what is happening at the crossings. So we give you a land date only after verifying the route that is open in the week of your shipment. If we find the road undependable, we offer you two alternatives: a container by sea, or the aircraft. The land freight page explains the service.
Lebanese customs and clearance procedures
Lebanon does not belong to the Gulf customs union, so a customs declaration is opened for every shipment that reaches it from Madinah, however small. The rule there is a duty that follows the type of item with value added tax on top, and used furniture is no exception to it. The exception is a Lebanese citizen who has ended a residence abroad and come home for good with the furniture, on conditions we go through with you while the furniture is still in Madinah, not after it arrives. We build the file here; in Lebanon our clearing agent opens the declaration and attends the inspection, and no duty is paid before you know the amount.
| Item | The rule applied |
|---|---|
| Customs duty | By item, on a value assessed by customs |
| Value added tax | 11% as applied, and we confirm the rate in force on request |
| A returning Lebanese citizen’s furniture | Exempt after more than 3 years abroad and a final return, once only |
| Proof for the exemption | A statement from the Lebanese embassy of the period of residence, and a list of contents authenticated by it |
| Arrival date | Within a set period of the owner’s entry into Lebanon, which we confirm with the clearing agent |
| New boxed items | Duty and tax are paid on them even among exempt furniture |
| Gifts and dates | A personal quantity is cleared on its description; a large quantity is treated as goods |
| Goods of Saudi origin | Benefit from the Arab exemption on a certificate of origin, with the tax still due |
The presence of the owner or an agent at clearance is usually required, so arrange your travel date around the truck’s arrival. We do not promise that a shipment passes without duty, nor that customs will not open cartons. What we promise is a complete file that prevents the delays caused by paperwork. The procedures are on the customs clearance page.
Documents required for shipping from Madinah to Lebanon
Your shipment’s papers are read three times between Madinah and Beirut, once at each border. A missing paper therefore stops the truck in three places, not one. So we ask to receive the full set of documents ahead of loading day, and we go through them one at a time:
| Type of shipment | Documents |
|---|---|
| Furniture of a person returning for good | Passport; Iqama and final exit visa; the Lebanese embassy’s statement; a contents list, numbered and authenticated |
| Furniture and luggage without exemption | Passport or ID, and a numbered list of contents with approximate values |
| Gifts, dates and a visitor’s suitcases | Sender’s passport copy, a description of what is inside, and the consignee’s name, address and Lebanese mobile number |
| Commercial goods | The commercial invoice with its packing list, a certificate of origin that has been authenticated, the bill of lading, and the importer’s registration record |
| Car | Registration, export certificate, owner’s ID, and the purchase invoice if available |
| All shipments | An authorisation for the clearing agent if the owner is not present |
Each document is explained on the shipping documents page.
What cannot be shipped to Lebanon or needs a permit
Three authorities decide what goes into your shipment from Madinah to Lebanon: the Kingdom, by what it forbids to leave; Lebanon, by what it forbids to enter; and the nature of a furniture truck, which cannot take certain materials. An entire truck can be held at the crossing over one prohibited item tucked into a carton:
| Item | Ruling |
|---|---|
| Zamzam water | Not shipped from the Kingdom |
| Narcotics and alcohol | Not shipped from the Kingdom |
| Weapons, ammunition and fireworks | Prohibited |
| Medicines and medical preparations | With approval from the Lebanese Ministry of Health; personal quantities with a prescription |
| Telecommunication and wireless devices | With a prior licence |
| Counterfeits | Confiscated |
| Foodstuffs | Packaged personal quantities; commercial ones with a health certificate |
| Flammable materials, gas cylinders and aerosols | Not loaded with furniture |
| Loose lithium batteries | Not shipped by air, and packed separately by land |
| Cash, gold and original documents | Not shipped with furniture; they stay with you |
The general list is on the prohibited items page.
Delivery in Sidon, Beirut and the Lebanese regions

Lebanon is small, and its farthest cities are under two hours from Beirut. The truck reaches the Bekaa first, then descends to Beirut, and from there shipments are distributed north and south. Sidon lies on the coast about 45 km south of Beirut, and many shipments from Madinah go to it and to Tyre beyond. Sidon has modern districts on the hills, such as Abra, Hlaliyeh and Majdelyoun, which a medium vehicle reaches easily. Old Sidon and its souks, though, have narrow lanes no vehicle can enter, so we unload at the nearest point and finish with a hand trolley.
| Region | Main cities and districts | Delivery note |
|---|---|---|
| The South | Sidon, Tyre, Nabatieh | Sidon is about 45 km from Beirut, and Tyre about 85 km |
| Beirut and its suburbs | Achrafieh, Hamra, Ras Beirut, Verdun, Dahieh | Old buildings; we ask about the floor and the lift |
| Mount Lebanon | Jounieh, Byblos, Baabda, Aley, Metn, Chouf | 20–40 km from Beirut, with mountain roads that need a smaller vehicle |
| The North | Tripoli, El Mina, Zgharta, Koura, Batroun, Akkar | Tripoli is about 85 km from Beirut |
| The Bekaa | Zahle, Chtaura, Baalbek, Rashaya | The first area the truck reaches after Masnaa; Zahle is about 55 km from Beirut |
We need three details from you on booking day: which floor the home is on, what kind of road leads to it, and a Lebanese number on which we can reach the consignee. The day before the arrival date we ring him and settle the delivery hour. For more on the destination, see the shipping to Lebanon page.
Door-to-door shipping: what does it include?
The words “door to door” appear in every advertisement, and few explain what they cover. With us they mean the shipment needs no haul by you to a warehouse in Madinah, and no collection from the yard of a crossing or a port in Lebanon. They also mean the itemised price names every item:
- Collection: from your home, office or hotel in Madinah, at the agreed time.
- Packing: with materials we bring, and the price states whether it is included or a separate item.
- Carriage and transit: the truck hire and the transit fees in Jordan and Syria.
- Clearance: the clearing agent’s fee at the crossings. Lebanese duties and tax are paid as assessed by customs and are not part of the freight price.
- Delivery: to the address in Lebanon, with unloading and assembly of what was dismantled.
- What it does not include: a hoist lift to a high floor with no lift, or long storage, both agreed in advance.
Details are on the door-to-door shipping page.
Sea freight from Madinah to the Port of Beirut
Madinah is an inland city, so sea freight from it begins with a road leg. We load and seal the container at your place, then it travels to Jeddah Islamic Port, about 420 km away, or to the nearer Yanbu Commercial Port, about 220 km away, if a suitable sailing leaves from there. The ship leaves Jeddah heading up the Red Sea, passes through the Suez Canal, and berths at the Port of Beirut after 5 to 9 days at sea. Adding the haul to the port and clearance in both countries, door to door comes to about 14 to 22 days. We suggest the sea for a car, for a heavy load, and for any shipment whose land road is not dependable.
- 20-foot container: from SAR 4,600 for its sea freight, with room for a flat’s furniture or for a car plus luggage. The charge for hauling it from Madinah to the port is set on request.
- 40-foot container: for a whole home’s furniture or two cars, sealed at your home and opened in Lebanon.
- Part load: for anything under 15 m³, where you pay for your volume only.
- The advantage: a single border, the port, unaffected by conditions at the land crossings or by mountain snow.
- Port of Tripoli: an alternative for shipments to the North.
Details are on the sea freight page, and container dimensions on the container sizes page.
Air freight from Madinah to Lebanon

Air is the method that passes no land crossing, so it is unaffected by the state of the road. We collect the shipment from your door and hand it over at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, and it reaches the consignee in Lebanon in two to 4 days, including clearance at Rafic Hariri International Airport. We found no direct flight between Madinah and Beirut in the schedules we checked, so the shipment travels on a connecting flight. If moving it to King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah is quicker for your shipment that week, we route it there.
- For whom: documents, urgent parcels, commercial samples, and cartons of dates wanted before an occasion.
- Calculation: whichever is higher, the actual weight or the volumetric one. The volumetric weight calculator works it out.
- Price: starts from SAR 14 per kilogram for larger weights, and express documents from SAR 83.
- When land suits better: furniture, big appliances and any bulky item, because the gap in cost is wide.
- What cannot fly: perfumes in quantity, aerosols, loose batteries and flammable liquids.
- Clearance: a copy of the consignee’s ID is enough to clear a small personal parcel, while goods need a customs declaration and pay duties.
Details are on the air freight page.
Collection from Madinah’s districts and governorates
We pack and load at your site, in any district of Madinah: Aziziyah, Difa, King Fahd, Salam, Aqool, Shuran, Quba, Awali and Khalidiyah. We also collect from the region’s governorates. Where a town lies on the northern road, its shipment is loaded as the truck passes; where it lies in another direction, it is collected before departure day:
| Place | Position from Madinah | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Hotels of the central area | Inside the city | Suitcases and cartons collected from reception by a small vehicle |
| Khaybar | About 170 km north | On the truck’s road, loaded on the way |
| Al-Ula | About 330 km north-west | Collected before departure day and added to the trip |
| Tayma and Tabuk | On the line of the trip to the crossing | Added to the truck before Halat Ammar |
| Yanbu and Badr | About 220 km and 150 km west | Moved to Madinah, then added to the trip |
Steps for shipping from Madinah to Lebanon
Booking needs no more than one WhatsApp message: photos of what you will ship, your address in Madinah and the consignee’s address in Lebanon, and it is done in minutes. We then move the shipment from the first door to the second in these steps:
- Contact: send us photos and a description of the shipment, the Madinah district or hotel you are in, and where the consignee lives in Lebanon.
- Method: we recommend road, ship or aircraft once we have weighed the condition of the crossings, the shipment’s size and your deadline.
- Itemised price: it reaches you item by item: dismantling, packing, carriage, transit, clearance and assembly.
- Paper check: we review the exemption documents or invoices before fixing the loading day.
- Packing and loading: at your site, with a numbered list of contents and photos, then the truck is sealed.
- Transit: export formalities at the Saudi crossing, the transit leg across Jordan and Syria, and a message from us at each crossing.
- Lebanese clearance: at Masnaa, the port or the airport, in your presence or your agent’s.
- Delivery: to the address, with unloading, assembly and a check of the pieces against the list.
Tracking, insurance, payment and customer service
An automated tracking number alone is not enough for a shipment that crosses three borders; a person has to follow it. So we name one coordinator for you from loading onwards, and you have his name and mobile number. He contacts you when the truck leaves Madinah, when it reaches Tabuk and then the crossing, once it is through Jordan and Syria, and when clearance at Masnaa is finished, then tells you the hour it will reach the consignee’s door.
- Tracking: the shipment number is your reference, updated at each crossing or port. See the track your shipment page for details.
- Insurance: optional, worked out as a percentage of the declared value, and paid out under the policy terms, not a verbal promise. On a road with three borders we recommend it. Details are on the cargo insurance page.
- The Home Safe guarantee: your furniture is covered against breakage and scratches while we pack, load and unload it.
- Payment: by bank transfer or by the method agreed in the itemised price, against a receipt.
- Customer service: in Arabic by phone and WhatsApp from 7 am to 11 pm.
Shipping from Lebanon to Madinah
The route works in both directions. By land through the Masnaa crossing, then Syria, Jordan and Tabuk; by sea from the Port of Beirut to Jeddah Islamic Port; and by air to Madinah airport or Jeddah airport. We collect from the address in Lebanon, clear at the crossings, and deliver to any district of Madinah. Imports into the Kingdom are subject to Saudi customs and conformity requirements, and Lebanese goods were under restrictions in past years before traffic resumed. So we check the type of goods and what is allowed before loading.
Tips before shipping from Madinah to Lebanon
- Start the embassy statement weeks before shipping; it is the longest part of the file.
- Write the list of contents in detail: “12 cartons of books” and “5 cartons of Ajwa dates”, not “belongings”.
- If you are a visitor, hand over your cartons at least two days before you travel, not the night before.
- Buy dates in sealed boxes from the shop; they are easier to pack and clear than loose dates.
- Arrange to reach Lebanon before the truck does; your presence at clearance is usually required.
How do you choose a shipping company from Madinah to Lebanon?
Every company says it is “the cheapest” and “the fastest”, and waves a big discount. You will not learn the difference from the advert, but from pointed questions you put about the truck’s road from Madinah, the shipment’s papers, and the place of delivery in Lebanon:
| What you ask about | Reassuring sign | Warning sign |
|---|---|---|
| The land date | Checks the state of the crossings, then promises | A firm promise of three days |
| The method | Offers land, sea and air and explains the difference | One method for every shipment |
| The exemption | Reviews your papers before shipping | “Everything is exempt” |
| The price | Itemised: carriage, transit, clearance, delivery | A single figure with no breakdown, or a big discount on no stated price |
| Insurance | A policy with written terms | “100% compensation” with no policy |
| Delivery | To the address in Sidon, Beirut or the regions | Collection from the yard at Masnaa or the port |
| Registration | A verifiable commercial registration and a receipt | A mobile number only |
Common mistakes when shipping to Lebanon
- Shipping a car older than the age limit accepted in Lebanon.
- A vague list of contents that gets cartons opened at more than one crossing.
- Large, heavy cartons of books that split at the first handling.
- Putting Zamzam water or perfumes in quantity among the gift cartons.
- New boxed appliances among a returnee’s furniture with no declaration.
- Booking by land on a firm date without asking about the state of the crossings.
- Choosing the cheapest figure without asking what it covers in transit, clearance and delivery.

Frequently asked questions about shipping from Madinah to Lebanon
How much does shipping from Madinah to Lebanon cost?
The price follows what you ship from Madinah. By land: luggage, suitcases and cartons from SAR 1,650, a small flat’s furniture from SAR 3,700, and a full truck for a large flat’s furniture from SAR 6,000. By sea: a car from SAR 2,800 and a 20-foot container from SAR 4,600. By air: from SAR 14 a kilogram. The final figure is set once we know the shipment’s volume and its consignee’s address in Lebanon; the number to call is 0552803439.
How long does shipping from Madinah to Lebanon take?
The aircraft is quickest: two to 4 days. Next comes a full truck by land at 5 to 7 days, then a shared load by land at 7 to 10 days. A sea container takes longest, needing about 14 to 22 days from your door in Madinah to the consignee’s door.
Which road does the truck take from Madinah to Lebanon, and how far is it?
The distance to Beirut is about 1,400 km. The truck heads north to Khaybar, Tayma and Tabuk, usually enters Jordan at Halat Ammar, crosses from Jaber to Nassib in Syria, and enters Lebanon at the Masnaa crossing. Depending on the state of the crossings, we confirm the available route before shipping.
Is the land route to Lebanon always open?
Not in a fixed state. The road is normally open, but passing three borders leaves it liable to change from one week to the next. So we check the crossings in the week your shipment leaves Madinah before committing to a land date. If we are not confident of the road, we offer you the aircraft or a sea container.
Do you ship dates and visit gifts from Madinah to Lebanon?
Yes. We ship Ajwa, Safawi, Sukkari and Medjool dates, prayer beads, prayer rugs and copies of the Quran by land in cartons with dividers that prevent rubbing, and deliver them to the consignee’s door. Personal quantities travel on a description of the contents, and commercial ones on an invoice, a certificate of origin and a health certificate. Zamzam water is not shipped.
Is customs paid on used furniture in Lebanon?
In principle yes: duty and tax are collected on used furniture when it enters Lebanon. The exemption is reserved for a Lebanese citizen coming home for good after more than 3 years outside Lebanon, and it is given one time only. He proves it with two papers from the Lebanese embassy: a statement of how long he lived abroad, and its authentication of the shipment’s list of contents.
Do you ship cars from Madinah to Lebanon?
Yes. By sea in a container from Jeddah Islamic Port to the Port of Beirut, starting from SAR 2,800. Carriage by land on a car carrier through Jordan and Syria is priced on request. The rule applied in Lebanon is that a used car must not be more than 8 years old.
What documents are required for shipping to Lebanon?
They differ with the shipment. A returnee with furniture presents a passport, Iqama, final exit visa and a numbered list of the contents, adding the embassy statement if the exemption is wanted. Someone sending cartons and gifts needs only an ID, a description of what the cartons hold, and the consignee’s address and mobile number. A trader attaches the invoice, the certificate of origin and the packing list. A car owner brings its registration, its export certificate and personal ID.
Will my electrical appliances work in Lebanon?
Mostly yes. The voltage in Lebanon is 220 volts, close to the Kingdom’s, but the frequency there is 50 Hz against 60 Hz in the Kingdom. Most modern appliances accept both, so check the rating plate of the fridge, air conditioner and washing machine before shipping. Sockets come in several types, and you may need an adaptor.
Do you deliver in Sidon, Tyre, Tripoli and the Bekaa?
Yes. We deliver in Beirut, its suburbs and Mount Lebanon, in Sidon, Tyre and Nabatieh in the South, in Tripoli and the North, and in Zahle, Chtaura and Baalbek in the Bekaa, always to the address.
Is there a direct air freight flight from Madinah to Beirut?
We found no direct flight between Madinah and Beirut in the schedules we checked. So the shipment leaves Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport on a connecting flight, or is moved to King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah when that is quicker. It arrives in two to 4 days, and the price starts from SAR 14 per kilogram.
How long does sea freight to the Port of Beirut take?
Between 5 and 9 days is the sailing time alone from Jeddah Islamic Port to the Port of Beirut. But the container is first hauled from Madinah to the port and cleared in Jeddah and then in Beirut, so the total from your door to the consignee’s door comes to about 14 to 22 days.
What cannot be shipped to Lebanon?
Three groups. Banned outright: flammable materials, counterfeits, fireworks, ammunition and weapons. Needing prior approval: medicines, on a permit from the Lebanese Ministry of Health, and wireless and telecommunication devices, on a licence. Never leaving the Kingdom at all: Zamzam water, so we keep it out of Madinah shipments.
What are the payment, insurance and tracking options?
Payment is by bank transfer or by the method agreed in the itemised price, against a receipt. Insurance is optional and worked out as a percentage of the declared value. Tracking is by shipment number, with one coordinator who updates you at every crossing.
Do you ship from Lebanon to Madinah?
Yes, we ship the opposite way too. We collect at your address in Lebanon, and the shipment reaches any district of Madinah by one of three methods: a truck leaving through the Masnaa crossing, a container from the Port of Beirut to Jeddah port, or an aircraft to Madinah airport or Jeddah airport. Before loading we make sure the contents are permitted to enter the Kingdom.
