Who ships from Makkah to Lebanon, and what do they ship?
Shipping from Makkah to Lebanon has two faces. The first is seasonal: Lebanese Umrah and Hajj pilgrims going home with suitcases and gifts beyond the airline allowance. The second is constant: Lebanese families who worked in Makkah for years in hotels, restaurants, contracting and medicine, and then decided to return with their household furniture. Between the two are a resident sending a carton to relatives and a Lebanese trader buying from Makkah’s markets. Each of them is suited by a different method:
| Shipper | What they ship | Best method |
|---|---|---|
| Lebanese Umrah or Hajj pilgrim | Suitcases, gifts, prayer rugs and dates | Shared land load, or air for urgent items |
| Lebanese returning on a final exit | Household furniture, air conditioners and appliances | Full truck by land, or a container from Jeddah port |
| Car owner | A car under 8 years old | Container by sea, or carrier by land |
| Trader and online shop | Dates, rugs, perfumes and Saudi products | Full truck by land, or container by sea |
| Companies and Hajj and Umrah groups | A whole group’s luggage, equipment and documents | Dedicated truck, and air for documents |
Route and transit time from Makkah to Lebanon
The Kingdom and Lebanon share no border, so the truck crosses Jordan and then Syria before it arrives. It leaves Makkah northwards with two roads to Tabuk ahead of it: the coastal road along the Red Sea through Rabigh, Yanbu, Umluj, Al-Wajh and Duba, or the Hijrah road to Madinah and then Tayma. From Tabuk it is about 100 km to the Halat Ammar crossing, the nearest Jordanian crossing for trucks from the west of the Kingdom. After that it crosses Jordan from Mudawwara to Amman and Jaber, then Syria from Nassib to Damascus and Jdeidet Yabous, and enters Lebanon at the Masnaa crossing in the Bekaa.
| Stage | Approximate distance | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Makkah → the coast or Madinah → Tabuk → Halat Ammar | About 1,200 km | The longest stage, ending with Saudi export clearance and sealing of the truck |
| Mudawwara → Ma’an → Amman → Jaber | About 400 km | Crossing Jordan from south to north on a transit document |
| Nassib → Damascus → Jdeidet Yabous | About 150 km | Crossing Syria on a transit document |
| Masnaa → Chtaura → Dahr el-Baidar → Beirut | About 60 km | Lebanese clearance, then distribution to the addresses |
| Method | Door-to-door time | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Full truck by land | 6–9 days | A whole home’s furniture and goods |
| Shared load by land | 8–12 days | Pilgrims’ luggage, a room or two, and cartons |
| Car carrier by land | 7–12 days | Cars |
| Container from Jeddah port to the Port of Beirut | 12–20 days | Cars, heavy loads and furniture whose owner is in no hurry |
| Air via Jeddah airport | 2–4 days | Documents, parcels and urgent suitcases |
What lengthens the transit time?
- Makkah’s seasons: in Ramadan and Hajj, truck movement inside the city is restricted, so loading is delayed unless it is booked early.
- State of the crossings: six posts spread over three borders; every one inspects and stamps, and any of them can be busy.
- Transshipment: depending on what is practised when you ship, the cargo may have to change trucks in a crossing’s yard.
- Winter: the Dahr el-Baidar road between the Bekaa and Beirut may be closed by snow for days.
Shipping prices from Makkah to Lebanon
We price a Makkah-to-Lebanon shipment in one of two ways: a shared load by its weight or its volume in cubic metres, and a large load by the hire of a whole truck or container. The bill here carries two lines you will not find on a Gulf-bound shipment, namely transit fees in Jordan and Syria and the clearing agents’ fees at the successive crossings. The table below shows where our services start, from the door of your home or hotel in Makkah to the consignee’s door in Lebanon. Send a description of your shipment and the delivery address to 0552803439 and its final price reaches you the same day.
| What you ship | Method | Price starts from |
|---|---|---|
| Small parcel | Shared land | SAR 55 |
| Parcels and cartons by weight | Shared land | SAR 11 per kilogram |
| Household appliance or furniture piece | Shared land | SAR 415 |
| Shipment of luggage, cartons and suitcases | Shared land | SAR 920 |
| Bedroom | Shared land | SAR 1,195 |
| Small flat’s furniture | Land | SAR 3,700 |
| Large flat’s furniture | Land, full truck | SAR 4,600 |
| 20-foot container | Sea, Jeddah port to the Port of Beirut | SAR 4,600 |
| Saloon car | Sea, in a container | SAR 2,800 |
| Car on a carrier | Land | SAR 4,140 |
| Parcels and urgent items | Air via Jeddah airport | SAR 14 per kilogram |
| Documents | Express | SAR 83 |
| Villa furniture or goods needing more than one truck | Land or sea | Set on request |
The prices circulating in the market for this route are higher than that on most lines. Shipping from Makkah to Lebanon is offered at between SAR 1,000 and 2,500 per shipment, furniture moving from SAR 1,500, and between SAR 1,300 and 5,000 depending on the number of rooms. A small parcel is offered from SAR 60, an appliance or furniture piece from SAR 450, shared land freight from SAR 12 per kilogram, a car on a carrier from SAR 4,500, air freight at between SAR 35 and 80 per kilogram, and a container at between SAR 4,000 and 6,500. Higher figures circulate too: SAR 130 to 320 for an air parcel of up to 5 kg, SAR 4,900 to 7,800 for a medium home’s furniture by sea, SAR 8,800 to 17,500 for a whole home’s furniture, SAR 4,300 to 9,200 for a car depending on its size, and SAR 10,500 to 21,000 for a 20-foot container. So use the table as a point of comparison for any figure you are given, and always ask what it covers.
| What sets the price | Its effect |
|---|---|
| Volume and weight | The first factor. Work out the volume with the CBM calculator |
| Method | Land is cheaper for furniture and luggage, sea for a car and a heavy load, and air costs most per kilogram |
| Where the home is in Makkah | A narrow or steep street needs a small vehicle to shuttle to the truck |
| Delivery city | Beirut, or Tripoli and the North, or the South, the Bekaa and the mountain villages |
How do you bring the cost down?
- Choose a shared load if your volume is under half a truck and your date is not pressing.
- Book before Ramadan and Hajj or after them, as loading in season is harder and dearer.
- Go over the conditions for exempting furniture ahead of shipping: paying a duty you did not owe costs more than any saving on freight.
What is distinctive about shipping from Makkah in particular?
Loading in Makkah involves considerations the Kingdom’s other cities never face. The traffic department sets entry hours for large trucks and tightens them in Ramadan and the Hajj season. Many districts are built on hillsides, with steep roads too narrow for a truck. The city has neither an airport nor a port, so every air or sea shipment goes through Jeddah, about 80 km away. Anyone who ignores these considerations gives you a date that is not theirs to give. Here is what we do in each case:
| Condition in Makkah | Its effect | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Truck entry hours | No loading with a large truck at just any time | We set the loading time within the permitted hours, and confirm those in force the day before |
| Ramadan and Hajj | Tighter restrictions, and entry to Makkah in the Hajj days by permit | Booking two weeks before the season, or storage until it ends |
| Hillside districts and narrow streets | The truck cannot reach the door | A small vehicle shuttles the pieces to the truck on the nearest wide street |
| Hotel accommodation | No room for lengthy packing | Collection of suitcases and cartons from the room or from reception |
Land freight from Makkah to Lebanon: the crossings and what happens at them
Land freight is the first method to Lebanon because it carries the shipment from door to door and needs neither a port nor an airport. But it is not like shipping to a neighbouring country: here there are three borders and more than one document. The truck is sealed on leaving the Kingdom, and its seal is checked at every post. It crosses Jordan and Syria on transit documents because the shipment is not sold in either, so no import duty is paid there. The actual clearance of the goods takes place in Lebanon alone.
| Border | The two facing posts | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Saudi Arabia → Jordan | Halat Ammar → Mudawwara, with Al-Haditha → Al-Omari as the alternative | The Saudi export declaration, then opening the Jordan transit |
| Jordan → Syria | Jaber → Nassib | Closing the Jordan transit and opening the Syria transit |
| Syria → Lebanon | Jdeidet Yabous → Masnaa | Closing the Syria transit, then the Lebanese customs declaration and inspection |
- The truck: closed and sealed, and its seal is opened only in front of customs.
- The list: detailed and numbered in Arabic and English, as it is what is presented at every post.
- Entering Syria: a non-Syrian truck enters Syrian territory only under rules set by Damascus, from which transit trucks are exempt. Because some crossings may ask for the load to be moved to another truck, depending on the practice that day, we pack Makkah’s luggage and furniture from the outset as if it will be transshipped.
Note: three successive crossings mean the land route to Lebanon never stays the same for long. We therefore give you a land date only after verifying which route is actually open in the week of your shipment. Should we find it unsafe to rely on, we offer two alternatives from nearby Jeddah: a sea container or an air consignment. The service is explained on the land freight page.
Shipping Umrah and Hajj pilgrims’ luggage from Makkah to Lebanon

A Lebanese pilgrim goes home from Makkah with more than he brought: prayer rugs, prayer beads, abayas, dates and gifts for family and neighbours. Most Lebanese arrive by plane through Jeddah, and the airline charges for every extra kilogram. The answer is for you to travel with your hand luggage while the rest follows by land to your door in Lebanon. And you need not break off your programme to look for a shipping office: we come to the hotel.
- Collection from the hotel room: we come up to your room at the time you set, or collect from reception if you are at the Haram, against a receipt stating the number of pieces.
- A numbered tag on every piece: each suitcase and carton carries a tag with its owner’s name and number and the shipment number, so the luggage of group members is not mixed up.
- Dates: in personal quantities in their sealed boxes, and entered on the list by name and weight.
- What does not go in the luggage: Zamzam water, cash, gold, passports and the medicines you need while travelling.
- Delivery: in Beirut, Tripoli, Sidon and the Bekaa, with a call to the consignee a day before arrival.
A luggage shipment starts from SAR 920, and a single piece is charged by weight from SAR 11 per kilogram. Anyone in a hurry for a particular suitcase can send it by air via Jeddah airport from SAR 14 per kilogram. Used personal luggage is treated in Lebanon as personal effects, whereas new gifts in quantity may be assessed for duty, so write them on the list as they are.
Furniture shipping from Makkah to Lebanon

The home of a family returning from Makkah holds things that are not left behind: bedrooms, a majlis, carpets and a kitchen, and with them the air conditioners. An air conditioner in Makkah is no luxury; most homes there have one in every room, and the owner wants to take them along. That is why our work in Makkah’s homes starts on the roof and the walls before the rooms: we remove and pack the air conditioners, then come down to the furniture.
- Air conditioners: the gas is pumped down into the outdoor unit and its valves are closed, then both units are removed and the pipe ends are capped. Each unit is packed in foam and reinforced cardboard and carried upright, not tilted.
- Electrical frequency: the frequency in Lebanon is 50 hertz and in the Kingdom 60. Check the air conditioner’s rating plate: if it reads 50/60 it will work there, and if it reads 60 only, ask a technician before you pay to ship it.
- Dismantling: we take apart bedrooms, wardrobes and kitchens, number every part, and tape a bag holding the screws to the piece they belong to.
- Appliances: the fridge is unplugged and dried a day ahead, and the washing machine’s drum is secured.
- Assembly in Lebanon: we unload and assemble the bedrooms and wardrobes in your home, hang the air conditioners if you ask, and take away the packing waste.
You may leave Makkah before your home in Lebanon is finished. In that case your furniture stays in our store, still wrapped and with its inventory list, and moves only on the date you choose. Read about the move on the furniture shipping page, and about safekeeping on the storage page.
Packing: why do we pack for more than one crossing?
Packing that is enough for a move within Makkah is not enough here. The shipment travels 1,800 km, is opened for inspection at more than one post, and may be moved from one truck to another in a crossing yard. So we pack every piece on the assumption that it will be loaded and unloaded more than once, and we make each carton easy for the customs officer to open and close so that it is not torn.
| What is packed | Material | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Wooden furniture | Thin foam, then blankets, then corrugated cardboard | Protects corners and finish from rubbing during handling |
| Glass and marble | A made-to-measure wooden crate | Cardboard alone cannot bear the weight placed on top of it |
| Every carton | A number and description matching the list | Only the one asked for is opened at inspection |
We photograph every piece before packing and after loading and send you the photos before the truck moves. Packing methods are set out in detail in the packing guide, and the service is on the packing and lashing page.
Full truck or shared load?
The more borders there are, the more your choice between the two trucks matters. Whoever hires a full truck sees its seal applied outside their home in Makkah, and it sets off on the loading day itself with one customs file in their name. The owner of a shared load, by contrast, waits until the truck fills with other people’s shipments, each with its own papers at clearance. So we recommend the full truck to a returnee who will claim the exemption for an entire household, and the shared load for a pilgrim’s suitcases, a single room or a few cartons.
| Comparison | Shared load | Full truck |
|---|---|---|
| You pay for | Your shipment’s space or weight | The whole truck |
| Transit time | 8–12 days | 6–9 days |
| Departure | Once the truck is full | On loading day |
| Best for | Luggage, cartons and up to about two rooms | A whole home or a lot of goods |
Shipping parcels, electronics and electrical appliances
Many of our customers are not moving a home; they are sending a carton of clothes to relatives, or a television, a computer and a household appliance bought in Makkah or Jeddah. These travel in the shared land load by weight, which is far cheaper than air once the weight exceeds a few kilograms. And appliances are what suffers most from a long road if they are not packed properly.
- Parcels and cartons: we use double-wall cartons weighing no more than 30 kg when packed. A small parcel costs from SAR 55, and anything larger is charged by land from SAR 11 for each kilogram.
- Phones and computers: in anti-static bags inside their boxes, then a second padded carton. New ones are declared with their invoice.
- Household appliances: from SAR 415 each, with any moving parts fixed in place and a wrap of foam under reinforced cardboard.
- Testing and documentation: we switch the appliance on in front of you and photograph it before packing, so its condition is recorded on departure and on arrival.
Details are on the parcel shipping page.
Shipping commercial goods from Makkah to Lebanon
The Lebanese trader buys from Makkah’s markets what is in demand at home: prayer rugs, prayer beads, ihram clothing, abayas, dates and incense. Factories in the region send foodstuffs, plastics and detergents. Goods of Saudi origin benefit from the exemptions of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area when accompanied by a valid certificate of origin. And the larger the shipment, the lower the cost per kilogram, because the truck or container hire is spread over more weight.
- Documents: a commercial invoice, a packing list, an attested certificate of origin and a bill of lading.
- The importer: must hold a Lebanese commercial registration and a tax number, since the customs declaration is opened under that name.
- Foodstuffs and dates: with a health certificate, and cosmetics with the approval of the relevant ministry in Lebanon.
Details are on the commercial shipping page.
Car shipping from Makkah to Lebanon
Before asking what it costs to ship your car from Makkah, find out two things: its year of manufacture, and what will be paid on it on arrival. Under the practice in force, Lebanon does not accept the import of a used car built more than 8 years ago. Lebanese customs sets the car’s value and then calculates the charges on it, and the bigger the engine, the higher they climb. Your car does not leave Makkah until we have verified the condition that applies to it.
| Item | Rule |
|---|---|
| Age limit | The rule applied is 8 years for a used car, and we confirm what is in force before shipping |
| By sea in a container | From Jeddah Islamic Port to the Port of Beirut, from SAR 2,800, and the most dependable for timing |
| By land on a carrier | Through Jordan and Syria, from SAR 4,140 |
| Luxury or large car | A closed container of its own, with the price set on request |
| Export from the Kingdom | An export certificate from the traffic department after fines are paid and the plates surrendered |
- In the container: the car is secured with straps over the wheels and covered with a fabric cover, and luggage entered on the list can be loaded with it.
- Temporary entry: anyone driving their car to Lebanon as a visitor needs the customs passage carnet, explained on the Triptik carnet page.
For the general conditions, read the article car shipping from Saudi Arabia; the service itself is described on the car shipping page.
Lebanese customs: luggage, used furniture and new goods
A customs declaration is a condition for any shipment entering Lebanon, small or large. The rule is that each type of item pays its duty with value added tax on top, and used furniture is no exception to it. One case is exempted, and it matters to many of Makkah’s Lebanese residents: the furniture of someone who has ended a stay abroad and gone back to Lebanon for good. We go through the conditions of that exemption with you while the furniture is still in Makkah, not when it is standing at customs.
| Item | Rule applied |
|---|---|
| Customs duty | According to the type of item, on a value assessed by customs |
| Value added tax | 11%. A government decision to raise it to 12% had not yet taken effect, so we confirm the applicable rate when you ask |
| Returning Lebanese citizen’s furniture | Exempt if the owner lived abroad for more than 3 years and returned for good, and granted once |
| Proof for the exemption | A statement from the Lebanese embassy of the period of residence, and a list of contents authenticated by it |
| A pilgrim’s luggage | Used personal items are treated as luggage, and new gifts in quantity are assessed for charges |
| New items in their boxes | Their duty and tax are paid even among exempt furniture |
Lebanese customs normally expects the shipment’s owner, or someone they authorise, to attend clearance, so time your departure from Makkah to the day the truck is expected to arrive. Bear in mind that the regulations bar the sale of furniture that entered exempt until a set period has elapsed. The clearance steps are explained on the customs clearance page.
Documents required for shipping from Makkah to Lebanon
The same papers are shown to officers at three borders on the way from Makkah to Beirut, so any gap in them stops the truck at each one rather than at just one. We therefore take in your full set of documents and review it ahead of loading day, while you are still in Makkah and able to supply whatever is missing:
| Type of shipment | Documents |
|---|---|
| Umrah or Hajj pilgrim’s luggage | A copy of the passport, the consignee’s name, address and Lebanese mobile number, and a list of the pieces and their contents |
| Furniture of someone returning for good | Passport, Iqama with the final exit visa, the statement issued by the Lebanese embassy, and a list of contents that is numbered and authenticated |
| Commercial goods | A commercial invoice, packing list, attested certificate of origin, bill of lading and the importer’s registration |
| Car | The registration, the export certificate, the owner’s ID, and the purchase invoice if available |
Each document is explained on the required documents page.
What cannot be shipped from Makkah to Lebanon or needs a permit
Three authorities decide what boards the truck in Makkah: Saudi export rules, Lebanese import rules, and the safety rules that keep certain items off any truck carrying luggage and furniture. Finding just one banned item in a carton is enough to stall everything on the truck at the crossing:
| Item | Ruling |
|---|---|
| Zamzam water | Its export is restricted, and it is not shipped with luggage or goods |
| Weapons, ammunition and fireworks | Banned |
| Medicines and medical preparations | With approval from the Lebanese Ministry of Health, and personal quantities with a prescription |
| Telecommunication and wireless devices | With a prior licence |
| Foodstuffs | Personal, packaged quantities; commercial ones with a health certificate |
| Flammable materials, gas cylinders and aerosols | Not loaded with furniture |
| Cash, gold and original documents | Not shipped; they stay with you |
The general list is on the prohibited items page.
Door-to-door delivery in Tripoli, Beirut and the Lebanese regions

Lebanon is small, and its farthest towns are less than two hours from Beirut. Tripoli is its second city and the capital of the North, about 85 km from Beirut on the coastal road. Many pilgrims and families returning from Makkah have their relatives there and in Akkar and Koura. But delivery is not always easy: old souks and alleys a truck cannot enter, buildings with no goods lift, and mountain villages on slopes. So we transfer the shipment to smaller vehicles that take it to the address, and we unload and assemble inside the home.
| Region | Main towns and districts | Delivery note |
|---|---|---|
| Tripoli and the North | Tripoli, El Mina, Abu Samra, Qobbeh, Zgharta, Koura, Batroun, Akkar | About 85 km from Beirut, and the old districts are delivered by small vehicle |
| Beirut and its suburbs | Hamra, Ras Beirut, Tariq El Jdideh, Achrafieh, Dahieh | Old buildings; we ask about the floor and the lift |
| Mount Lebanon | Jounieh, Byblos, Baabda, Aley, Chouf, Iqlim al-Kharrub | 20–40 km from Beirut, with narrow mountain roads |
| The South | Sidon, Tyre, Nabatieh | Sidon about 45 km, and Tyre about 85 km |
| The Bekaa | Zahle, Chtaura, Baalbek, West Bekaa | The first area the truck reaches after Masnaa; Zahle is about 55 km from Beirut |
When booking, state the floor and the kind of road in front of the home, and send a Lebanese mobile number for the consignee. If delivery is in the Bekaa, the shipment arrives before those for Beirut and Tripoli, because it does not wait to cross Dahr el-Baidar. The whole service is door to door: you do not go to a warehouse in Makkah, and the consignee does not go to a crossing yard or a port. It is explained on the door-to-door shipping page, and details of the destination are on the shipping to Lebanon page.
Sea freight from Makkah to Lebanon via Jeddah port
Sea freight is the alternative when the land route is not dependable, and it is the best fit for cars and heavy loads. Makkah is close to it: Jeddah Islamic Port is about 80 km away. The load is moved from your home to the port, and the ship sails north up the Red Sea and through the Suez Canal to the Port of Beirut. The sailing takes 5 to 9 days, and with loading, clearance at both ends and inland transport the time comes to 12 to 20 days door to door.
| Type of shipment | Suits | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 20-foot container | A flat’s furniture, or a car with luggage | From SAR 4,600 |
| 40-foot container | A whole home’s furniture, or two cars | Sealed at loading and opened in Lebanon, with the price set on request |
| Part load | Under 15 m³ | You pay for your volume only, and it takes some days longer |
- The Port of Tripoli: an alternative for shipments to the North, which shortens the inland leg after arrival.
Details are in the article international sea freight from Jeddah, and container dimensions are on the container sizes page.
Air freight from Makkah to Lebanon

Makkah has no airport, so air freight leaves from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. We collect the shipment from your door or hotel and move it to the airport the same day. The flight to Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut takes about two and a half hours, and delivery is within two to 4 days including clearance at both airports. Air freight passes through no land crossing, so it is the method that is unaffected by the state of the road.
- For whom: documents, urgent parcels, commercial samples, a hurried pilgrim’s suitcase, and spare parts.
- Calculation: a bulky but light suitcase is billed on its dimensions, a dense one on the scale reading, so the larger of the two applies. Check yours with the volumetric weight calculator.
- Price: starts from SAR 14 per kilogram for larger weights, and express documents from SAR 83.
- After Beirut: we take the shipment on to Tripoli, Sidon and the Bekaa, usually the day after clearance.
Details are in the article air freight office in Jeddah, and the service is on the air freight page.
Land, sea or air: which suits your shipment?
No method is better than the others in every case. The answer follows three things: the volume of what you are shipping, your date, and the state of the land route in the week of shipping. Luggage and furniture go by land, a car and a heavy load by sea, and anything with a deadline by air. Many people combine two methods: an urgent suitcase by air, and the rest of the luggage by land.
| Point of comparison | Land | Sea | Air |
|---|---|---|---|
| Transit time | 6–12 days | 12–20 days | 2–4 days |
| Reliability of the date | Affected by the crossings and mountain snow | Steadier | Steadiest |
| Cost | Cheapest for furniture and luggage | Cheapest for a car and a container | Dearest per kilogram |
| Best for | Luggage, furniture and cartons | Cars and heavy goods | Documents, parcels and urgent items |
The full comparison is on the shipping methods comparison page.
Collection from Makkah’s districts and nearby towns
We pack and load at your location, in any district of Makkah: Aziziyah, Ash-Sharai, Az-Zaidi, Kudai, An-Naseem, Ash-Shawqiyah, Al-Awali, Batha Quraysh, Az-Zahir and Ar-Rusayfah. We also collect from nearby towns and from the towns on the truck’s road north, and their shipments join the same trip:
| Place | Position from Makkah | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Hotels of the central area | Inside Makkah | Collection of suitcases and cartons from the room or reception |
| Al-Jumum and Bahrah | 20–40 km | Collected on the same day as Makkah |
| Jeddah | About 80 km | The consolidation point for shared loads, and the origin of air and sea freight |
| Taif | About 90 km | Collected before loading day and added to the trip |
| Madinah and Tabuk | On the trip’s road to the crossing | Added to the truck before the border |
All collection cities are on the cities page.

You book in minutes with a single WhatsApp message: photos of the shipment, the collection address in Makkah and the delivery address in Lebanon. The shipment then goes through the steps below, and we are responsible for each one until its owner receives it:
- Get in touch: send photos and a description of the shipment, the Makkah district or hotel to collect from, and the address in Lebanon.
- The method: land, sea or air — our suggestion depends on how the crossings stand, how big the shipment is and when you need it.
- An itemised price: it reaches you with its items: dismantling, packing, transport, transit, clearance and assembly.
- Checking the papers: we check the exemption documents or invoices before fixing the loading day.
- Packing and loading: in the hours permitted for trucks, with a numbered list of contents and photos, then sealing of the truck.
- Transit: export formalities at the Saudi crossing, then passage across Jordan and Syria, with a message to you at each border post.
- Lebanese clearance: at Masnaa, the port or the airport, in your presence or your agent’s.
- Delivery: to the address, with unloading, assembly and checking the pieces against the list.
Tracking, insurance, keeping to dates and customer service
An automated number alone is not enough to follow a shipment with three borders ahead of it. So at loading we name one specific member of staff for you, whose name and mobile number you hold, and who calls you at five points: when the truck leaves Makkah, when it reaches the Saudi crossing, once it has passed through Jordan and Syria, when its clearance at Masnaa is finished, and before it arrives at your door.
- Tracking: by shipment number, with an update at every crossing or port, and you can give the number to the consignee in Lebanon. Details are on the track your shipment page.
- Insurance and what it covers: optional, and worked out as a percentage of the declared value. It covers loss and damage in transit according to the policy terms, and does not cover anything left off the list or prohibited items. Details are on the cargo insurance page.
- Keeping to dates: nobody controls a firm date on a road with three borders. So we give you the transit time as a range, not a single figure, we do not move the truck with an incomplete file, and if the road is disrupted before loading we offer you the container or air freight. The usual times are on the transit times page.
- The Home Safe guarantee: while we pack, load and unload, your furniture is protected against breakage and scratching.
- Customer service: Arabic-speaking, on the phone and WhatsApp between 7 am and 11 pm; payment follows the method agreed in the offer.
Shipping from Lebanon to Makkah
We also ship the opposite way, from Lebanon to Makkah. After years of suspension, Lebanese trucks are entering the Kingdom again, and they leave Lebanon by the Masnaa crossing. For those who prefer the sea, the container sails from the Port of Beirut and is discharged at Jeddah Islamic Port, and for those in a hurry the consignment lands at Jeddah airport. Our team comes to your Lebanese address, handles clearance at the crossings, and then brings the shipment to the district where you live in Makkah within the truck entry hours. And since Saudi customs and the conformity bodies set requirements for imports, we verify the type of your goods before they are loaded.
Tips before shipping from Makkah to Lebanon
- If you are a pilgrim, call us two days before you travel, not the night before.
- Do not leave shipping your furniture to the last week before Ramadan or Hajj.
- Write the list of contents in detail: “seven-seat sofa set”, not “furniture”.
- Check the rating plate of the air conditioner and the washing machine before deciding to ship them.
- Set aside what you will carry yourself: passports, contracts, gold, medicines and the Zamzam pack.
How do you choose a shipping company from Makkah to Lebanon?
The adverts are alike: “the cheapest”, “the fastest”, and large percentage discounts with no original price. What separates one company from another is the answer to specific questions about Makkah, the road and delivery:
| What you ask about | Reassuring sign | Warning sign |
|---|---|---|
| The land date | Checks the state of the crossings, then promises | A firm promise of three days, or “within one day” |
| Makkah’s seasons | Asks about your date and allows for Hajj and Ramadan | Promises loading on any day at any hour |
| The price | Itemised: transport, transit, clearance, delivery | A single figure with no breakdown |
| Delivery | To the address in Beirut, Tripoli and the regions | Collection from the Masnaa yard or the port |
| Registration | A commercial registration that can be verified, and a receipt | A mobile number only |
Common mistakes when shipping from Makkah to Lebanon
- Putting Zamzam water among the luggage, so cartons are opened at the crossing and the whole shipment is delayed.
- Asking for loading in the Hajj days with no prior booking.
- Shipping an air conditioner that does not run on Lebanon’s electrical frequency.
- A vague list of contents that gets cartons opened at more than one crossing.

Frequently asked questions about shipping from Makkah to Lebanon
How much does shipping from Makkah to Lebanon cost?
The cost depends on what you ship. A pilgrim’s suitcases and cartons as one shipment cost from SAR 920, a bedroom from SAR 1,195, and a small flat’s furniture from SAR 3,700. For anything smaller: a small parcel from SAR 55, or by weight in a shared land load from SAR 11 per kilogram. A kilogram by air is from SAR 14, and a car in a sea container from SAR 2,800. Tell us the volume and the delivery address in Lebanon on 0552803439 so we can set your final price.
How long does shipping from Makkah to Lebanon take?
By land, 6 to 9 days by full truck and 8 to 12 days as a shared load. By air via Jeddah airport, two to 4 days. By sea in a container, 12 to 20 days door to door.
How far is Makkah from Beirut by road?
The truck covers close to 1,800 km spread over four countries. The longest stretch is inside Saudi Arabia, from Makkah to the Halat Ammar crossing north of Tabuk, at about 1,200 km. Jordan follows with about 400 km, then Syria with about 150 km, and the last 60 km or so lie inside Lebanon between the Masnaa crossing and Beirut.
Which road does the truck take from Makkah to Lebanon?
The truck leaves Makkah heading for Tabuk, either beside the Red Sea on the coastal road or by way of Madinah. It exits the Kingdom at Halat Ammar to enter Jordan at Mudawwara, and crosses it via Amman as far as Jaber. It then passes through Syria between Nassib and Jdeidet Yabous, and finishes at Lebanon’s Masnaa crossing. Before every shipment we check that this route is open, since the state of the crossings decides.
Is there air freight directly from Makkah?
There is no airport in Makkah, so the nearest point of departure is King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah. On the day we collect your shipment we take it there, where it is loaded on a flight to Beirut that lands at Rafic Hariri Airport. Its owner receives it two to 4 days after collection.
Do you ship the luggage of Lebanese Umrah and Hajj pilgrims?
Yes. We collect suitcases and cartons from your hotel room or from reception, put a numbered tag with the owner’s name on every piece, and deliver them to the home in Beirut, Tripoli or any Lebanese region. A luggage shipment starts from SAR 920, and a single piece by weight from SAR 11 per kilogram.
Can Zamzam water be shipped to Lebanon?
We do not ship it. Zamzam water is among the items whose export is restricted, so it has no place among luggage or within a consignment of goods. The only way to take it to Lebanon is for the traveller personally to carry the travel pack provided for the purpose when leaving from the airport.
Is the land route to Lebanon always open?
The road is open, although crossing three borders makes its conditions vary from one week to the next. That is why we check the crossings in the week your shipment is due to leave Makkah, and only then set a land date for you. If we judge that relying on it is unsafe, the alternative is a container sailing from Jeddah port or an air consignment.
Is customs paid on used furniture in Lebanon?
In principle, yes: used furniture is charged customs duty together with value added tax at 11%. The exemption is reserved for a Lebanese citizen who has lived outside the country for more than 3 years and then returned for good. It is proved with two papers: a statement issued by the Lebanese embassy, and a list of contents it authenticates. Before your furniture leaves Makkah we verify the conditions in effect for you.
Do you ship cars from Makkah to Lebanon?
We ship them in two ways. The first is a container that sails from Jeddah port, close to Makkah, and reaches the Port of Beirut, costing from SAR 2,800. The second is a car carrier that takes the land route, costing from SAR 4,140. Mind your car’s age: under current practice Lebanon does not accept a used car older than 8 years, and we will verify the condition in effect before loading it.
Will my air conditioners and appliances work in Lebanon?
The voltage in Lebanon is 220 volts, close to the Kingdom’s, but the frequency there is 50 hertz and in the Kingdom 60. Appliances whose plate reads 50/60 hertz work without trouble. For an air conditioner or washing machine rated 60 only, ask a technician before shipping it.
Do you deliver in Tripoli and the North?
Yes. We deliver in Tripoli, El Mina, Zgharta, Koura, Batroun and Akkar, as well as in Beirut, Mount Lebanon, Sidon, Tyre and the Bekaa. For containers bound for the North, the Port of Tripoli is an alternative to the Port of Beirut.
Is shipping from Makkah affected by the Hajj season and Ramadan?
Yes. Truck movement inside Makkah is restricted in both seasons, and entry to the city during the Hajj days is by permit. So we ask you to book two weeks before the season, and we load in the permitted hours or store the shipment until it ends.
What cannot be shipped from Makkah to Lebanon?
Zamzam water comes first, followed by weapons, ammunition, fireworks, counterfeit goods and anything flammable. Medicines travel only with approval from Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, and a licence is required for telecommunication and wireless devices.
Do you ship from Lebanon to Makkah?
Yes, the route runs both ways. Land shipments come through the Masnaa crossing, sea shipments sail from the Port of Beirut to Jeddah port, and air shipments land at Jeddah airport. Collection is from the address in Lebanon, and delivery is to any Makkah district during the hours when trucks are permitted.
