Furniture moving within Jeddah at a glance
Furniture moving in Jeddah is a door-to-door service: the crew reaches your old home with its materials and tools and leaves it with everything on the truck, then does not leave the new home until the wardrobe stands level and the carpet lies under the sofas. People move for many reasons: a job at the other end of the city, a school closer to the children, or a district with better services. In every case the householder wants one thing, for the furniture to arrive intact and the effort to be over in a day.
Jeddah is a long city that stretches for tens of kilometres along the coast. It has towers on the Corniche, blocks of five and six storeys, villas in the northern subdivisions and old houses in the lanes of Al-Balad. Each kind of building is loaded in its own way, which is why one price and one truck do not suit everyone. The table sums up the service.

Who asks for furniture moving in Jeddah?
Jeddah is a city of work, trade and a port, and its residents move more than most. An employee is transferred, an expatriate’s contract ends, a family grows and looks for a larger floor, and a student enters university and needs housing nearby. The size of the move and the vehicle and workers it needs differ with each case, so the case is the first thing we ask about.
| Customer | What they usually move | What suits them |
|---|---|---|
| A family changing district | The furniture of a flat or a floor | A closed truck and a crew that dismantles and assembles in one day |
| A resident of a tower or a high floor | Sofas and wardrobes the lift cannot take | An exterior hoist alongside the truck |
| A villa owner | Sitting rooms, many bedrooms, ornaments and garden furniture | A survey visit and a move over two days |
| A couple furnishing their first home | New furniture from several showrooms | Collection from the showrooms and assembly in the flat |
| A student or a single employee | A bed, a desk and cartons | A small vehicle and two workers |
| An office or shop owner | Desks, shelving and equipment | An evening or weekend move |
| An expatriate leaving the Kingdom | Furniture and belongings going home | Export packing and land, sea or air freight |
What is included in the service, and what is not?
Anyone who moves home alone rings a carpenter for the wardrobes, a technician for the air conditioners, a vehicle for transport and labourers for loading, then tries to bring them all together at the same hour. Contracting a single party reduces all of that to one agreement, one price and one person in charge. A clear agreement, however, also states what the price does not cover, so the two sides do not disagree at the door.
| Item | Within the service | Agreed separately |
|---|---|---|
| Dismantling and assembly | Beds, wardrobes, tables and bookcases | Kitchens, air conditioners and wardrobes built into the wall |
| Packing | Blankets and film for large pieces | Full carton packing of all the contents of the home |
| Lifting | The lift and the stairs | The exterior hoist |
| Transport | A closed truck within Jeddah | Distant suburbs and other cities |
| After arrival | Placing pieces in their rooms and laying carpets | Mounting screens and chandeliers and drilling walls |
| Storage | Not part of the move | A closed warehouse at a monthly rate |
Whatever is agreed is written into the booking confirmation item by item. If on moving day you ask for work that was not in the agreement, such as mounting a screen or taking a piece to a third address, you are told its price before the worker begins.
Survey and pricing: clips on WhatsApp or a visit
Honest pricing requires us to see what we will move. The quickest way is to walk through the home with your phone, film a clip of each room, open the wardrobe and kitchen doors, then send the clips with the location of both addresses. From these we learn the number of pieces, how many cartons are needed, and which piece will not fit the lift. We then ask three questions: which floor you are on, whether the lift may be used for furniture, and where the truck can park.
A visit remains better for a villa and for a home with valuable or heavy pieces, such as a piano, a steel safe or a marble table, and for any move that needs a hoist. During it the width of the stairs and the door is measured, and the façade and the street are examined. You then receive one figure with a statement of what it covers. Because the crew is in Jeddah, the visit is arranged the same day or the next in most cases.
Packing furniture, books and keepsakes in the homes of Jeddah
Packing is half the move. The large pieces are the easy part; what takes the time is what sits in the drawers and on the shelves: a library collected over years, ornaments brought back from travels, the family’s photographs and certificates. These cannot be replaced at any price, so we start with them before the first bed is dismantled and give them the sturdiest materials.

Books are heavier than people think, and a large carton of them loses its base or hurts the back of whoever lifts it. They are therefore stacked in small reinforced double-wall cartons, lying flat or on their spines rather than on the edges of their pages, with the gaps filled with paper. Copies of the Quran and rare books are first wrapped in clean paper and placed at the top of the carton. Ornaments and keepsakes are wrapped in bubble wrap piece by piece, and any lid or base is separated and wrapped on its own.
| What is packed | Material | Method |
|---|---|---|
| Books and files | Small reinforced cartons | Laid flat, gaps filled, a weight one man can carry |
| Ornaments and figurines | Bubble wrap and filling paper | Each piece wrapped alone, lids and bases separated |
| Paintings, mirrors and frames | Cardboard corners and foam | Corners protected, carried upright rather than flat |
| China and glass | White paper and cardboard dividers | Plates on their edges, cups in compartments |
| Sofas and mattresses | Stretch film and mattress bags | Fully sealed against dust and humidity |
| Polished wood | Blankets, then film | The blanket goes against the wood so it does not sweat under the film |
| Hanging clothes | Cartons with a hanging rail | They travel on their hangers and need no fresh ironing |
After sealing come numbering and the inventory. Each carton is marked on two sides with its number and the name of its room, and the number and contents are entered in a list, for example “14 – study – books from the top shelf”. The list serves you twice: on delivery you count the cartons against it, and days later it leads you to the book you want without opening ten cartons. For anyone who prefers to pack a library personally, there is a detailed explanation in the article packing furniture for a move and in the packing guide.
Coastal humidity: the air in Jeddah is humid for most of the year, and humidity is the enemy of wood, paper and fabric. Cartons are therefore not left in an open yard on the night before the move, and polished wood is not wrapped directly in film, where it would sweat. Mattress and carpet bags are sealed at both ends. If the furniture is going into storage, moisture-absorbing sachets are placed with it.
Dismantling bedrooms, kitchens and curtains
Dismantling is a carpenter’s job, not a porter’s. A wardrobe with sliding doors has its doors lifted off the tracks first, then its panels are separated and numbered in pencil on the edge that does not show. A bed is taken down into a headboard, two sides and a base, and its screws and fittings go into a bag taped to one of its panels. That way no screw is lost and no panel is refitted in the wrong place.
The kitchen is the most delicate thing to dismantle in a home. The cabinets are emptied, the doors and shelves removed, the wall units detached, and the marble or granite worktop carried upright on a frame, because carrying it flat breaks it. Dismantling a kitchen starts from SAR 640, and refitting it in the new home depends on the wall dimensions there. Curtains are slid off their tracks and folded into bags marked with the name of the window, and go back up wherever their size fits.
Moving electrical appliances and air conditioners
No home in Jeddah is without air conditioners that run for most of the year, so they are the first thing a mover asks about. A split unit is not simply pulled off the wall: the refrigeration technician pumps the gas down into the outdoor unit, then disconnects the pipes, caps their ends and lowers both units. In the new home he hangs them, vacuums the air out of the pipes and tests for leaks before switching on. Removing and refitting a unit starts from SAR 138, and any extra piping or gas is charged according to the distance between the two units there.
| Appliance | Preparation before the move | What is done on arrival |
|---|---|---|
| Split air conditioner | Gas pumped down and pipes capped | Hung, vacuumed and leak-tested |
| Window air conditioner | Water drained and the front wrapped | Fixed in the opening and sealed round the edges |
| Fridge | Switched off a day before, dried, doors tied | Left standing for some hours before switching on |
| Washing machine | Hoses drained and the drum locked with its bolts | Bolts removed and feet levelled |
| Oven and cooker | Gas disconnected, glass and racks wrapped | Connected by a technician |
| Screen | Its original carton or two foam boards | Carried upright and mounted by agreement |
| Water heater | Tank drained | Hung, connected and the safety valve checked |
Lifting and lowering furniture by hoist from upper floors in Jeddah
Many of Jeddah’s blocks were built before sofas and fridges grew to the sizes they are today. Their stairs are narrow and wind round themselves, and their lifts barely hold four people. So when a corner sofa or a one-piece wardrobe has made it to the fifth floor, the only way left for it is the outside. That is the work of the hoist.

The exterior hoist is an inclined powered ladder whose base stands in the street and whose top rests on the balcony or window, with a platform that travels along it carrying the piece. Before lifting, the piece is wrapped in blankets so nothing can scratch it, then held to the platform with securing straps on two sides. One worker stands at the top to receive it and another at the bottom to guide, with the operator between them. The piece comes down in minutes with no trip down the narrow staircase and no marks on its walls or handrail.
| Situation | Best means | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Ground or first floor | The stairs | A short distance, and carrying by hand is quicker |
| A block with a wide lift open to furniture | The lift, with its walls padded | Lowest cost, and enough for most pieces |
| An upper floor and a small lift | The lift for cartons and the hoist for large pieces | A split that saves time |
| A piece wider than the stairs and the door | The exterior hoist | It has no way through the inside |
| A tower that bans furniture in the lift | The hoist if it reaches the floor, or the service lift by appointment | The building management’s rules |
| A façade crossed by cables or trees | Dismantling the piece and using the stairs | Safe lifting comes before fast lifting |
A hoist is not ordered on the spot. The façade is inspected first: whether the flat has a balcony or a window that is wide enough, whether the street has room for the base of the hoist, and whether a cable or an awning crosses the path. Every hoist has a height it can reach, so we ask for the floor number before choosing one. Its charge starts from SAR 275 and rises with the height of the floor and the number of pieces.
Lifts, stairs and the rules of towers and residential compounds
Towers and residential compounds in Jeddah have managements that set rules for moves. Some require advance notice, some reserve the service lift for set hours, and some ask for the lift to be padded and the lobby floor protected. Ask the management before booking and tell us what it requires; we bring the padding blankets and the floor-protection boards. In gated compounds the driver’s name and the truck’s number are registered at the gate before moving day.
An ordinary block without a lift is no problem up to the third or fourth floor. More workers are assigned and take turns on the stairs, long pieces are dismantled so they can turn the corners, and wall corners are covered where needed. What we do not accept is forcing a piece down stairs narrower than it is, which ends in scratched wood and a chipped wall. At that point we suggest the hoist and leave the decision to you.
Which truck suits your home?
The vehicle is chosen by the volume of furniture and the street it will stand in. A truck larger than necessary means paying for space you do not need and perhaps finding nowhere to park; a smaller one means two trips and double the time in Jeddah’s traffic. A closed body is a condition for us when moving furniture: it keeps out sun, dust and sea spray, and screens the contents of the home from passers-by.
| Vehicle | What it carries, roughly | Where it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Small pickup van | A piece or two and some cartons | Lanes, narrow streets and quick jobs |
| Light truck with a closed body | The furniture of a room up to a small flat | Most Jeddah districts |
| Medium closed truck | The furniture of a three- to four-room flat | Wide streets and new subdivisions |
| Large closed truck | The furniture of a whole floor or a villa | Villas, main roads and moves between cities |
| Car carrier | One car or more | For anyone moving a car to another city |
Delivering and arranging furniture in the districts of Jeddah
At the door of the new home begins the part the family will look at every day afterwards. The cartons go into the rooms written on them, then the carpets are laid before anything stands on them: each carpet is spread and squared to the wall, and the sofas are lined up on it. After that the wardrobes and beds are assembled and their doors adjusted, and the packing waste is cleared from the home.

The service reaches every district of the city, and the busiest for us are in the north and the centre: Ash-Shati, Az-Zahra and Al-Muhammadiyah, and Al-Marwah, Al-Bawadi and Al-Faisaliyah. Each side of Jeddah has a character that changes how the work is done, from the Corniche towers to the villas of Obhur to the tightly packed blocks of the centre. The table shows how.
| Area | Some of its districts | What to allow for when moving |
|---|---|---|
| Northern coast | Ash-Shati, Al-Muhammadiyah, An-Naeem, Al-Basateen | Towers and modern blocks, and service lifts by appointment |
| North-centre | Az-Zahra, As-Salamah, Ar-Rawdah, Al-Khalidiyah, Al-Andalus | Blocks and villas, and evening traffic on the commercial roads |
| Centre | Al-Faisaliyah, Al-Bawadi, Ar-Rabwah, Mishrifah, Al-Aziziyah | Tightly packed blocks and little parking; the hoist is in greater demand here |
| East-centre | Al-Marwah, As-Safa, An-Nuzhah, Ar-Rehab | Narrow internal streets in places; a photo of the entrance is requested |
| East | As-Samer, Al-Manar, Al-Ajwad, Al-Hamdaniyah | Newer subdivisions and wider streets, further from the coast |
| South | Al-Balad, Al-Kandarah, Ath-Thaghr, Al-Jamiah, As-Sanabel | Old districts and lanes; small vehicles and hand trolleys |
| Obhur and beyond | North and South Obhur, Dhahban, Thuwal | Villas and rest houses, with travel time allowed for |
Historic Jeddah and the old districts: the houses of Al-Balad and its surroundings stand on lanes no truck can enter, some of them footpaths. There the truck stops at the nearest permitted point, and the pieces are carried on hand trolleys or in a small vehicle shuttling between the house and the truck. The houses themselves have low doors and steep stairs, so pieces are dismantled as far as they will go. We allow more time and more workers for such moves from the outset.
Furniture moving prices in Jeddah
The price follows what will be moved and what work it needs. The figures below are starting prices inside the city of Jeddah, set below the lowest figure we found published for the same item in the city. The final figure is given after the listing and written into the booking confirmation, and it does not change on moving day unless the furniture or the address changes.
| Item | Price starts from | Note |
|---|---|---|
| A room or a few pieces | SAR 320 | A small vehicle and two workers |
| A two- to three-room flat | SAR 550 | Transport with basic dismantling and assembly |
| A large flat or a floor | SAR 920 | A closed truck and a larger crew |
| A four- to five-room home | SAR 1,100 | More with full carton packing |
| A villa | SAR 2,150 | More than one truck or more than one trip |
| Dismantling and reassembling a bedroom | SAR 275 | Without transport |
| Dismantling a kitchen | SAR 640 | Refitting depends on the new dimensions |
| Removing and refitting a split air conditioner | SAR 138 | Per unit, without extra materials |
| Packing the contents of a bedroom | SAR 138 | Cartons, film and blankets |
| Packing kitchenware | SAR 230 | Paper, dividers and small cartons |
| The exterior hoist | SAR 275 | By floor and number of pieces |
| Distant suburbs and moves between cities | Set on request | By distance and volume |
Prices quoted in the market: what we found published for Jeddah varies widely. A single room is quoted at SAR 350 to 500, and a one-room flat at SAR 400 to 600 by one mover and SAR 800 to 1,200 by another. A two- to three-room flat is quoted at SAR 600 to 1,000, and up to SAR 1,800. A four- to five-room home runs from SAR 1,200 to 2,200, and a villa from SAR 2,500 to 5,000. The hoist is offered at SAR 300 to 500, bedroom packing at SAR 150 to 250, air-conditioner fitting at SAR 150 to 250, and a light-truck trip alone at SAR 200 to 400. The original article on this page gave no figure. The gap between offers usually comes from what each one includes, so ask about the items before you compare the numbers.
| Factor | Effect on the price |
|---|---|
| Amount of furniture | Sets the size of the truck and the number of workers |
| Floor and means of lifting | Stairs add workers, and the hoist is a separate item |
| Truck parking | A parking spot far from the entrance lengthens loading |
| Dismantling and assembly | Kitchens, air conditioners and large wardrobes are charged separately |
| Level of packing | Packing all the contents adds materials and hours |
| Distance within the city | From Obhur to south Jeddah is a long run in traffic |
| Timing | Demand rises at month-end, before the school term and in the seasons |
You can bring the cost down without gambling with your furniture:
- Move in the middle of the month and the middle of the week.
- Sell or donate what you will not take before we list, not after.
- Pack clothes and books yourself and leave the fragile and the heavy to us.
- Book the service lift and a parking spot near the entrance.
- Combine dismantling, transport and assembly in one order instead of three.
How long does a furniture move within Jeddah take?
The road takes more of the day in Jeddah than it does in a small city. From Obhur in the north to the southern districts is a long distance, and the city’s main roads are congested at midday and in the evening. Loading therefore starts with the first light, so the truck is out before the peak. The times in the table are for a home with a lift and nearby parking.
| Move | Usual time | What adds to it |
|---|---|---|
| A piece or a room | 2 to 3 hours | Stairs and traffic |
| A two- to three-room flat | 4–6 hours | Waiting for the lift and many items to dismantle |
| A large flat or a floor | A working day | The kitchen and the air conditioners |
| A villa | One to two days | Several floors, ornaments and outdoor furniture |
| A move that needs a hoist | About an hour more | Setting up the hoist and the number of pieces lifted |
| A house in the lanes of the old districts | 2 to 3 hours more | Trolleying the pieces to the truck |
What sets furniture moving in Jeddah apart?
First, the climate. Temperatures are high for most of the year and humidity higher still, so workers tire sooner and furniture suffers if it is left uncovered. Work is therefore brought forward to the early morning, and furniture goes from the door into the closed body without waiting on the pavement. In the weeks of rain, which are few but sometimes heavy, water collects on some roads and in underpasses, and loading may be put back by hours or to the next day.
Second, traffic. The traffic department regulates the entry of trucks to the city’s main roads at peak hours, and the times change in Ramadan and the Hajj season, so we confirm what is in force before loading day and choose the vehicle and the hour accordingly. Jeddah is the gateway to the Two Holy Mosques, so in the Hajj season and the last days of Ramadan the roads to the airport and to Makkah fill up, and anyone moving in those days does well to book early.
Third, the variety of buildings within one city: a tower with a service lift, an old block without a lift, a villa with a garden, and a house in a lane. That makes the survey more important in Jeddah than elsewhere, and makes the exterior hoist an everyday tool rather than an exception.
Moving offices, shops and showrooms
Commercial activity in Jeddah is extensive, and moving an office there is a race against working hours. The plan is for the office to close on Thursday evening and open in its new premises on Sunday morning with every employee at their desk. Desks and drawers are therefore labelled with their owners’ names before the move, and a plan of the new premises is drawn with each desk number pinned to its place. Files are carried in cartons sealed with tape signed by the person in charge.
Shops and showrooms are moved with their shelving, glass fronts and stock. Glass is carried upright on frames, and stock is packed into counted cartons whose number the shop owner signs for. Computers, servers and printers are wrapped separately, and their cabling is photographed before disconnection so it goes back as it was. For commercial goods and shipping them beyond the city, see the commercial shipping page.
Moving furniture from Jeddah to other Saudi cities
Roads leave Jeddah in every direction: east to Makkah and Taif and on to Riyadh, north along the coast to Rabigh, Yanbu, Madinah and Tabuk, and south to Abha and Jazan. A home is moved to another city by a dedicated truck that sets off on loading day, or in a shared load for anyone with few belongings and no hurry. The distances are approximate, and the driving time is for a loaded truck travelling steadily.
| Destination | Approximate distance | Truck driving time | Delivery by dedicated truck |
|---|---|---|---|
| Makkah | About 80 km | About an hour and a half | Same day |
| Taif | About 170 km | About 3 hours | Same day |
| Yanbu | About 330 km | 4–5 hours | Same day |
| Madinah | About 420 km | 5–6 hours | Same day or the next |
| Abha | About 650 km | 8–9 hours | Next day |
| Qassim | About 900 km | 10–11 hours | Next day |
| Riyadh | About 950 km | 10–11 hours | Next day |
| Tabuk | About 1,000 km | 11–12 hours | Next day or the day after |
| Dammam | About 1,350 km | About a day and a half | Within two to 3 days |
Three of these routes have articles of their own: furniture moving from Jeddah to Taif, furniture moving from Jeddah to Riyadh and furniture moving from Jeddah to Dammam. Anyone heading for the Holy Capital or for the Prophet’s city can read furniture moving company in Makkah and furniture moving company in Madinah.
A dedicated light truck from Jeddah to Riyadh starts from SAR 1,012 for transport alone, and the other routes and volumes are priced on request after the listing. Loose cartons do not need a truck: a carton up to 20 kg starts from SAR 87 and a small parcel from SAR 32, as in the article on domestic shipping in Saudi Arabia. What the market quotes for moving a home from Jeddah starts at SAR 600 to Taif and SAR 800 to Madinah, ranges from SAR 1,800 to 4,000 to Riyadh, and is about SAR 2,500 to Dammam.
Moving cars from Jeddah along with the furniture
A family moving from Jeddah to Riyadh or Dammam usually owns more than one car and cannot drive them all a thousand kilometres. The car is therefore loaded onto a car carrier and strapped by its wheels, travelling on a date close to that of the furniture truck. On collection it is photographed from all four sides, and a record of its condition and odometer reading is written and signed by the owner.
Moving a car between Jeddah and Riyadh starts from SAR 830 on a shared carrier, and other cities are priced on request. A luxury or classic car travels in an enclosed carrier by special request. The details of the service and its destinations are in the article car shipping company in Jeddah and on the car shipping page.
Furniture storage in Jeddah between two homes
Not every move goes from door to door on the same day. You may hand back the old flat before the paint in the new one is dry, or leave on a long holiday without wanting to pay rent on furniture nobody uses. Our warehouse is in Jeddah itself, so the furniture leaves your home packed and enters it within the hour, recorded in a photographed inventory of which you receive a copy. When you ask for it, it comes back against the same list and is assembled in your home.
| What you store | Monthly rate starts from |
|---|---|
| Cartons and a few pieces in a small space | SAR 185 |
| A single fridge or washing machine | SAR 230 |
| The furniture of a small office | SAR 415 |
| The furniture of a flat | SAR 600 |
| The furniture of a villa | Set on request after listing |
What the warehouse accepts and refuses, and how wood and mattresses are kept from humidity, are covered in the article furniture storage company in Jeddah and on the storage page.
Shipping from Jeddah to other countries by land and sea
Jeddah is the best-placed Saudi city for anyone leaving with their furniture: Jeddah Islamic Port on the Red Sea is in the city, and trucks leave from it for the land crossings. An expatriate who has finished years of work here chooses the method by country: a closed truck for neighbouring states and a container for distant ones. In both cases the furniture is dismantled and export-packed in the home, and a packing list is prepared for customs.
| Destination | Method | Route of the shipment from Jeddah | Price starts from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gulf states | Land, by closed truck | Via Riyadh to the border crossing | SAR 140 per carton |
| Jordan | Land, by closed truck | North to the border crossing | Set on request |
| Turkey and North Africa | Sea, in a full or shared container | Jeddah Islamic Port, then the Suez Canal | SAR 415 per cubic metre |
| Europe | Sea, in a full or shared container | Jeddah Islamic Port, then the Suez Canal | SAR 5,500 for a shared-container shipment |
| Any destination, urgent | Air | King Abdulaziz International Airport | SAR 14 per kilogram to the Gulf |
This page is about moves within the city; international shipping has its own article: international furniture moving in Jeddah. Destinations and routes are in international shipping companies in Jeddah, and customs exemptions for returnees in international furniture shipping company from Saudi Arabia. To compare the two methods: land freight and sea freight.
Air freight for furniture and belongings from Jeddah to destinations abroad
Air freight is for urgent pieces and belongings, not for the furniture of a whole home. An aircraft charges by the kilogram, and a complete bedroom sent that way costs more than buying it new. It is the answer, though, when the householder reaches home ahead of the furniture and needs the family’s clothes, the children’s books and the small appliances in the first week. It also suits a small valuable piece, such as a painting or a silk rug, and documents.

Shipments leave from King Abdulaziz International Airport in the north of Jeddah for destinations abroad; it is among the Kingdom’s airports with the most destinations. We collect the cartons and suitcases from your home, weigh and measure them and complete the export paperwork, and they are handed over at the arrival airport or at the door where that service exists. The charge is on the actual or the volumetric weight, whichever is greater; the method is in the volumetric weight calculator and on the air freight page, and the office details are in the article air freight office in Jeddah.
| Destination | Price starts from | Approximate time |
|---|---|---|

Steps for moving furniture with Home Safe in Jeddah
- You call or message us on WhatsApp at 0552803439 and name the two districts and your rough date.
- You send clips of the rooms, the floor number, and the state of the lift and the truck parking.
- We decide whether a visit or a hoist is needed, then the itemised price reaches you.
- You choose the day and the hour, and receive the booking confirmation with its terms.
- The crew arrives in the morning, packs the books and ornaments first, then dismantles the furniture.
- The truck is loaded, large pieces go down by hoist if required, and you receive the inventory.
- In the new home the carpets are laid and the pieces assembled in their rooms.
- You count the cartons against the list with the supervisor, check the pieces, then pay the balance.
Responsibility for the furniture, and insurance
The phrase “with a guarantee” is repeated in moving adverts, and few explain it. With us its meaning is specific: the crew is responsible for the piece it packed and carried, under the terms set out in the booking confirmation. To keep that responsibility clear, a condition record is written before loading, noting every old scratch or earlier break with its photograph. After assembly the supervisor walks through the rooms with the householder before the crew leaves.
Cargo insurance is something else; it is optional and offered on request. We recommend it for anyone with high-value pieces and for every move to another city or abroad, and it is explained on the cargo insurance page. Gold, cash, passports and title deeds do not go into the cartons at all; their owner carries them by hand.
Before moving day: what to prepare yourself
- Tell the management of both buildings the moving date, and ask about the service lift and its hours.
- Switch off the fridge and freezer the night before, dry them and leave their doors open.
- Sort your library: what moves, what is given away and what is donated.
- Photograph the cabling of screens and devices before unplugging them.
- Put medicines, phone chargers and two days’ clothes in a bag that stays with you.
- Empty the gas cylinders or take them in your own car; they are not loaded with the furniture.
- Have cold water ready for the crew; working in Jeddah’s heat and humidity is exhausting.
How do you choose a furniture moving company in Jeddah?
The Jeddah market is crowded with figures and promises, and “cheapest and best” is written on every advert. The cheapest is not always the least costly: a scratched sofa or a wardrobe that will not close after assembly eats up the whole difference. So ask before you agree, and look at how the answer is given before you look at the figure.
| What you ask about | Reassuring | Worrying |
|---|---|---|
| Who the mover is | An establishment with a commercial registration and an address in Jeddah | A mobile number and an alias |
| How the price is set | Asks for photos or visits, then prices | Gives a figure before asking about the floor |
| Upper floors | Asks about the lift and suggests a hoist when needed | “We will take it down the stairs” for every piece |
| The vehicle | A closed body | An open body and ropes |
| Packing | Names the materials for each kind of piece | One blanket for everything |
| The agreement | Items and terms in a booking confirmation | A verbal agreement over the phone |
Anyone comparing cities or planning a longer move will find the full picture in the guide to furniture moving companies in Saudi Arabia.
Common mistakes when moving furniture in Jeddah
- Filling one large carton with books that nobody can lift.
- Taking a wide sofa down a narrow staircase instead of ordering the hoist.
- Wrapping wood directly in film and leaving it in the humidity for days.
- Starting the move after midday, so the truck runs into the evening traffic.
- Neglecting to ask the tower management about the service lift hours.
- Letting an unqualified worker pull off the air conditioner, so its gas leaks.
- Leaving cartons unnumbered, then searching among them for one item for days.

Frequently asked questions about a furniture moving company in Jeddah
What does a furniture moving company in Jeddah take off the householder’s hands?
It takes over the jobs for which you would otherwise hunt down a carpenter, an air-conditioning technician, a driver and labourers one by one. A single crew lists the furniture, dismantles the wardrobes, beds and kitchen, packs the pieces, books and ornaments, loads them into a closed truck, then unloads them in the new home, assembles them and lays the carpets. All that is left for the householder is to say where each piece should stand.
How much does it cost to move furniture within Jeddah?
Moving a room or a few pieces starts from SAR 320, a two- to three-room flat from SAR 550, a large flat or a full floor from SAR 920, a four- to five-room home from SAR 1,100, and a villa from SAR 2,150. The figure changes with the number of pieces, the floor, the lift and whether the move needs an exterior hoist. Film the rooms and send the clips to 0552803439, and the price usually reaches you the same day.
Is your crew in Jeddah, or does it come from another city?
Jeddah is our city. Home Safe Logistics Services Establishment is registered here under commercial registration 4030601060, and the moving crew and the warehouse are here too. So the customer is not charged for a trip in from outside the city, and on many days a move can be arranged within a day or two of the call. At the end of the month and before the school term, demand is heavy and earlier booking is needed.
When do I need the exterior hoist to move furniture?
When a piece will not pass through the staircase or the lift, or when the floor is high and the lift is closed to furniture. The items lifted most often are corner sofas, wardrobes that cannot be dismantled, double-door fridges, and slabs of marble or glass. The hoist starts from SAR 275, and the façade and the street are inspected before moving day to confirm where it will stand and that its path is clear of cables.
How do you pack books, ornaments and keepsakes?
Books are stacked in small reinforced cartons so that no carton weighs more than one man can carry, lying flat or standing on their spines. Ornaments and keepsakes are wrapped in bubble wrap one by one, with filling packed round them so nothing shifts. Each carton then receives a number and the name of its room, and its contents are entered in an inventory of which the householder keeps a copy.
How long does it take to move a flat in Jeddah?
A two- to three-room flat takes about 4 to 6 hours when the lift is available and the truck can park near the entrance, so it is finished in one day. A single room is done in two to three hours, and a villa in one to two days. What lengthens the job most in Jeddah is traffic between the north and the south of the city, and waiting for the lift in tower blocks.
Do you move a single piece within Jeddah?
Yes. A sofa bought from a showroom, a fridge moving from the family home, or a desk and a bed for a student: all of these are moved, and the smallest job starts from SAR 320. If the piece only needs dismantling and reassembly without transport, a bedroom starts from SAR 275. A small vehicle and two workers are enough for such jobs, which are finished in a few hours.
Which Jeddah districts do you serve?
Every district of the city. In the north Ash-Shati, Al-Muhammadiyah, Az-Zahra, As-Salamah, Ar-Rawdah, An-Naeem, Al-Basateen and Obhur; in the centre Al-Faisaliyah, Al-Bawadi, Al-Marwah, As-Safa, Ar-Rabwah and Al-Aziziyah; in the east As-Samer, Al-Manar and Al-Hamdaniyah; and in the south Al-Balad, Ath-Thaghr, Al-Jamiah and As-Sanabel. We also reach Dhahban, Thuwal and Bahrah, with travel time allowed for.
Can the truck enter the lanes of Historic Jeddah and the old districts?
Not many of them: the lanes are narrower than the truck, and some are for pedestrians only. In that case the truck stops at the nearest permitted point, and the pieces are carried on hand trolleys or in a small vehicle in several runs. That adds time and workers to the move, so we ask about the entrance and request a photo of it before pricing, and nobody is surprised on moving day.
Do you dismantle air conditioners, kitchens and curtains?
Yes. A split unit is removed by a refrigeration technician who pumps the gas down into its outdoor unit; removal and refitting start from SAR 138 per unit, with extra piping and gas charged according to the new home. A kitchen is taken apart cabinet by cabinet with the doors numbered, starting from SAR 640. Curtains are taken down, folded into bags marked with the window names, and hung again.
Do you move furniture from Jeddah to other cities?
Yes, to Makkah, Taif, Madinah, Yanbu, Riyadh, Dammam, Abha, Tabuk and Qassim. Makkah and Taif are delivered the same day, Riyadh the next day by dedicated truck, and Dammam within two to three days. A dedicated light truck to Riyadh starts from SAR 1,012 for transport alone, and the other routes are priced on request.
Do you have a warehouse for furniture storage in Jeddah?
Yes, a closed, monitored warehouse inside Jeddah. The furniture is packed in your home, taken there and recorded in a photographed inventory, then returned on the day you choose. A small space starts from SAR 185 a month, a single large appliance from SAR 230, and the furniture of a flat from SAR 600. The furniture of a villa is priced after it has been listed.
What does moving “with a guarantee” mean with you?
It means the crew is responsible for what it packs and carries with its own hands, under the terms set out in the booking confirmation. The condition of each piece is recorded before loading and checked with the householder after assembly. Anything the customer packed personally, or that had an old defect, is noted in the record. Cargo insurance is optional and offered on request, and we promise no percentages or periods beyond what the confirmation states.
Do you ship furniture from Jeddah to other countries?
Yes, and this is the core of our work. To the Gulf states and Jordan by closed truck, to Turkey, North Africa and Europe in containers from Jeddah Islamic Port, and by air from King Abdulaziz Airport for urgent items. A carton to the Gulf by land starts from SAR 140, a cubic metre by sea to Turkey and North Africa from SAR 415, and the furniture of a whole home is set on request.
When is the best time to move furniture in Jeddah?
Early morning, mid-week and mid-month. At that time traffic is lighter, the heat and humidity are kinder to the workers and the furniture, and the lift is easier to book. In Ramadan the work mostly shifts to after iftar. During the Hajj season and on rainy days road traffic changes, so we agree the appointment and confirm it the day before.
